Well they could have just called it Monkey Fist or something. I mean in Monkey style kung fu there is a Drunken Monkey Fist style of fighting. I believed Master Roshi used that as Jackie Chun if I'm not mistaken.

I think the dub called Jackie Chun's style "Mad Cow Fist"…was reminded of that from another board. Though he is of age of concent (way beyond that actually), that was mostly from watching it at 4-5 in the afternoon.

Yeah I think I remember that too… Though I'm not exactly sure why they referred to it as mad cow... but heck at least even mad cow beats loopy fist.

Kinda. It does lose some of it's impact when they remove the religious parts. But at least they can fix it on the uncut DVDs. If Viz changes Enel into a king, then that's it. They've basically changed the plot, and they won't release two versions of the manga. Basically, in the anime, I can accept seeing the change in the TV-broadcast version, but it should not happen on the uncut DVDs or in the manga.

So far Funi has referred to Eneru as "Him" and "He". They need to somehow identify that title, whether its "God" or not, so we can stop worrying.

What aren't you getting? Funi had Amazon calling him a King instead of a God, and they edited a sign from Godland Skypiea to Kingland Skypiea. I think it's fairly obvious what he's talking about.

Wow, it's pretty awesome to read something from a guy who isn't so uninformed he sounds like a total half-wit. I'm impressed…especially after that GL/ADV debacle from this morning. :|
He raises valid questions, and if Yotsuba is any indicator, those "tweens" will eventually have to compete with older readers who want more mature (not necesarily sexually mind you lot, but more creative) stories.

Urg, whoever it is that does the check ups for typos, translations and what not for One Piece isn't doing a very good job at all.
So far, spanning from Volume 14 to 17, we have the following errors and inconsistancies:
-Vivi is referred to by her family name, Nefeltari in all of Volume 14. In Volume 15 and on, she's referred to by her first name.
-Elbaf is written as Elbaph, thus destroying the pun in the name.
-Ms. Valentine's Day mentions that Luffy has a bounty of 300 Million in Volume 14. An extra zero was added by mistake, as it is supposed to be 30 Million.
-Chapter 136's cover page is titled "Django's Dance Paradise, Vol. 9: Ah! The Navy!" while the Wanted poster being held by the Naval soldier clearly says "Jango."
-In Volume 16, Dr. Hiruluk's name is written out as "Dr. Hiriluk." However, on the cover of Volume 17, the title of the book is written as "Hiruluk's Cherry Blossoms."
Pretty sure I could find more if I looked through it, but this is ridiculous.

Volume 14 also had 8 chapters. They vary between 8 and 10 chapters per volume. Besides, that's not exactly Viz's fault.

Volume 18 has 11 chapters so I'm kinda confused as to why it's coming out in June rather then July.

That doesn't sound bad at all. Portgas may be Portgaz, but better is that Ace isn't Trace. And "Oh Come My Way" is actually a pretty clever way of avoiding referencing tansexualism or homosexuality (and using the word okama) and at least fans of the Japanese version will get the reference.

Some fans will never be able to accept VIZ's editing standards, but as long as you can appreciate how the editors are able to work around it, like with "Oh Come My Way", you'll be able to enjoy it more, even if it's only a little.

You'd have to be retarded not to know he is homosexual. But yeah, these were a great 4 chapters seeing as they revealed Ace, Crocodile and Bon Clay.

Ah, I remember having a good laugh when his henchmen said that during their little dance routine in the anime.
I too find it amusing that they're referring to Mr. 2 as 'Clay.' Maybe they think we wouldn't know what Bon Kurei is? Or maybe it's because they know that Clay is the more commonly used term in the American fandom? Who knows, but I'm looking forward to buying the volume…in June.
