@Lobster:
? She never fought Arlong. And she never defeated a single fishman.
Not the point that I'm getting at. She didn't have to physically fight him. She was fighting by trying to convince the villagers to not fight and by gaining enough money to buy Cocoyashi.
So? Does that make it any less important? It's still doing something. Also you conviently left out her defeating Mr.7 and Miss Father's Day.
Because I was correcting something.
So… she wined, complained... then did nothing? Nami's even worse off then Vivi, by your standards. But of course for you, Nami's an "exception". :getlost:
She did get back up to fight though - she was willing to fight with the rest of them once she got her senses back, but by the time she got there, they had finished with Chuu, Kuroobi, and Hachan. She was going to fight Arlong too until Luffy was finally freed from the water.
Why do you keep calling her winey?
Because she is.
So stop trying to make a character seem worse then they are, just because you hate them. Any you say she's "boring"? How about Nami, with her cliche' personality. She hasn't had any good character development since Arlong Park. And Nico Robin? She was a boring untill Water 7.
Because she is. Nami is a very feeling person, and appreciates the crew very much for what they've done for her. No character development? While it's not noticable, in Skypiea, she showed some past fears, and Luffy was angry at her. She shaped up immediately when he yelled at her - and she didn't have to go through some bullshit twenty or thirty chapters to do it either.
Robin was nice, calm, and composed - she didn't bitch and whine, and held her ground nicely against that Yama guy. And of course, she didn't seem very interesting at first because she was keeping herself away from the rest of the crew.
And I don't hate her. She's just boring - especially in comparison with every single One Piece after and before her. She redeems herself very slightly with her actions in the last stretch of her arc - after Luffy sucker-punches her.
That's because Volume 15 had a suckie cover. Volume 14 had an awesome cover with Luffy and Vivi, standing infront of the Little Garden villians.
Kids buy things because of the COVERS.
I find this so odd. Who (in their right mind) would buy a manga from the cover? And why would they buy the fourteenth volume first?
