Agents of Shield S5 Ep7 - Together or Not At All

! I enjoy Sinara and Kasius. I was unsure about how Sinara would take being put into a combat to the death and if Kasius had not killed his brother then and there, she might have just abandoned him. At the end I got some Drusilla and Spike vibes from the two of them. An evil but devoted couple.
! So what, Deke was just forever welded away into his room? Was that the plan? Super weird but I guess I owe Nectar some money.
! And I'm with Fitz on being frustrated that there is so little time to appreciate what he has done. There is no time to even be happy that he's there either. I hope once they get to Earth's surface they can breathe a little.
! Mack, Elena and Flint staying back was somewhat sudden. I can see why they did it but I don't think it was executed that well. We might get more on that next week. And it's not that Flint really needs anyone to look out for him. After all, he has the Inhuman ability to make his enemies wait for their death while he builds a weapon.
! May doesn't need to change careers, shut up Enoch! Well, better that than getting killed off for being redundant, I suppose.

! This arc, so good. Man, forgot Clark Gregg directed last week's ep. Did a great job.
! Totally agree about out two Big Bads. I hate them but in a good way. lol at the show not needlessly explaining Kasius' (if I spelled it wrong, blame Huschel) run in with Simmon's butter knife. Wish the Kree were more well-rounded. All I see are blue Klingons.
! I hate Team Mack staying. No way are they leaving the future now (unless Flint all of a sudden changed his mind to go back to the past with Samurai Jack Mack and Yo-yo. They're practically a family now and the Lighthouse needs at least a couple bad asses leading the humans. Seriously, Kree or no Kree, they'd be dead in a week without the Mack Pack.
! Man, I wish the show did something with Gravaton. Bring him back show! Guess the old lady is the future girl? I'm saying away from AoS boards this season so I can't check.

Shield Ep7

They chose the wrong title for the episode.

! Kasius killing the brother and regaining Sinara's trust I like. I think that's actually my second favorite moment of the episode. It is nice to see the kind of relationship they have. Kasisus as the worm and Sinara as the pet owner. They are so symbiotic. I thought I was done with them and then that last scene suddenly made me fascinated in their relation. Kassius killing for her and her killing the general back then and seeing him as unfit for battlefield.
! On the other hand the brother becomes a weird plot detour. His presentation made it seems he would be a little more important than that. If that was all I would have prefered him dying in the same episode he appeared. He just seems like necessary padding. They seem to be sacrificing a lot of interesting characters early in this arc.
! That mercenary guy was ridiculous. Thank god Sinara killed him.
! Sooo are inhuman powers supposed to be easy to control because that Flint seems pretty damn good with it. And without the usual drawback also. I think he is conveniently good is what I am saying.
! So Mack and Yoyo are staying? That was kind of sudden.
! Fitz continue to be great. Favorite moment has to be when Mack is yelling at him for putting the weapons on the wrong floor and he gets frustrated about no one getting how epic his travel was. And then Mack console him.

Agents of Shield S5 Ep8 - The Last Day

The best episode this season so far. It's always impressive when they can make me care about characters so quickly.

! Robin just wanted to live, you guys :( I was genuinely sad when she was mortally wounded. And that was before we found out that May had raised her for years! That was the best revelation of the season. I hope Melinda May of the alternate/original timeline cherished that time. I think she did.
! So okay. Something occurred that made Daisy use her powers which broke the world. This actually seems to be standard lore now. If Gravitonium was involved in any way then I guess she could have done it. Probably not on purpose. So after that cataclysmic event, humanity retreated into the Lighthouse and at some point the Kree showed up and offered their 'help'. Mack also died at some point and Yo-Yo was super done and apparently ran into her death by Kree? We didn't see Coulson in that timeline at all and nobody mentioned him either which is strange. I take it Simmons and Fitz came up with several ideas to enable time travel but they never quite got there and Jemma always died in the end. Voss seems to have been around already although I'm not sure how that could be. He's not nearly old enough. Maybe I misunderstood. But somebody had to finish building the monolith contraption. Maybe it was Deke's dad. Anyway, that whole sideway flashback storyline was amazing and little Robin won me over quickly. Old lady Robin was great as well.
! Meanwhile, Yo-Yo and Flint are also being parents to the days of future past savior of the world. I am now buying the theory that Flint will travel back with the team and use his powers to prevent the earth from splintering. Because apparently Daisy still needs to break it.
! I had so much fun with May's character this episode! She better not leave me.
! PS: I love the music whenever Elena uses her powers. Just like Daisy has her Inhuman sound effects.

Ep 8

I think my favorite episode of the arc.

! I'm not sure where the May being insecure comes from. I never pictured her as doubting her usefuleness and I am really not sure why now.
! Everything from the original timeline was great. I love the tone and the colors. It really serves that feeling that there is nothing left anymore. I enjoyed the slow loss of hope. And more than anything I enjoyed May. I like seeing as that young gardian and trying to keep the hope alive and do something different than just kicking ass.. And her as a guardian seems so reasuring that wouldn't mind spending more time watching her relation with Robin. I also think it was fitting since her biggest regret was killing that little inhuman girl.
! I only regret we didn't get a touch of grey for passing of time.
! Can't blame Voss for trying to kill Daisy.
! Soo. Something happen that force the evacuation in the city. Daisy send the team away and go to face it soon after an earthquake break the world. Coulson and Mack probably die in the aftermatch and the crew only manage to rescue Robin but not her mom. She rambles about the future and how Shield will save it by coming to future. Fitz think it is useless(future can't be change) but due to May's insistence he builds the schematics that will allow it to be built. Robin continue with her fragmented vision seeing the death of everyone left with her and how they will die in this time but also seeing them at the time of her death. To Fitz it's proof that it doesn't work since time did not change and science says it won't. Everyone dies(Robin gets to be at May's side when she dies and May will be at her side when she does making it unnecessary for both to day bye), she lives on the lighthouse telling her stories and making believers. Kasius send her out with the elders but she goes to the Zephir with them. Decade(s) later shield is finally there as predicted and Virgil is there to get them as Robin told her she would.
! I fully expect an alternate dimension thing to not break the truth Fitz has been having abut unable to change the future. They will go back to their universe but the world that was blown will stay blown.
! Also the lighthouse construction is definitely important since Enok didn't know how or when it got made.
! May will be important to saving the world I suppose hence her suddenly doubting her importance and the whole she will have much to do.

! I still believe in the possibility of a red herring. It's just what everyone assume happened but we did not see it. Just Daisy telling everyone to go and the world got destroyed soon after.

! Welll they were going to go extinct so no need for quotes it's just that th ehelp came at great price.

! Pretty sure that's the whole they were never all together again thing. Coulson is of those who died early.

! That's just Fitz commenting on Robin visions. Remember how her time is jumbled up so they all had to hear her visions of the future we are seeing now. Which is Fitz point that they already did the time travel thing and Daisy get back and nothing change. She still didn't see any vision of them actually saving the world. They couldn't be in the lighthouse right now if the plan ever worked. So it is just a loop of failure as far as Fitz is concern.

! Well I knew they were trying to make the watchers think about a loop but I don't buy it for a moment. They just used the fact Robin has been annoying them with info all these to make it seems like they know to much and are in a loop. But the simple fact that when Fitz blow up he says May doesn't get it already means that it can't be and narratively it does not make sense.
! Also Fitz will need to be right about science.Which makes it more likely that they will introduce the whole different similar world and they are simply from a different one unconnected to this one. Basically it's time travel like in Dragon ball. So the world will be saved but the other will stay blown. Might be proven right thanks to Flint not disappearing despite history being different.
! I don't expect it to come down to Flint because the insistence on the blues May iss having and Mommy-saying how her alternate self will need to know her importance is seeding pretty hard she has to play a crucial role while Flint is more a Mac/Yoyo thing. So I expect Flint to stay as leader/protector of the rest of humanity while shield goes to save the world.

! Okay…so...the world ended with SHIELD in the present but they weren't there. Robin was looking into at least two timelines and was able to send SHIELD into the future to...keep them together so they can...go back.

Go back using the time machine Fitz and Simmons made but didn't in this timeline…so they can stop Daisy from destroying the world that's already destroyed but this time will be different because Flint will be there...? So, this is DBZ time travel rules?
! Now, I want to now where the monolith came from, why Daisy used her power and will the timestream correct itself or will there be two permenant timelines? Oh, and who the hell is Deke's dad? He has to be someone important.
! Team Mack is on fire! They really need to kick Caisasus-Caisau-the guy's ass while Ms. Baller is gone. The alternate timeline parts with Fitz and Yo-yo, so good! Not my favorite ep but still good. And, hey! Mack and Yo-yo just may live long enough to go back to the present!

Yeah but Fitz make it wonky

! BEcause Fitz was just Frozen so if they are alternate timelines him and the Robin living with May shouldn't be able to meet with just living there lives.
! So either time can change and that flashback will just be erased(Legends of tommorow and kind of wonky) or we are on loop.
! I don't buy the loop because it means they break it just because. And time can be changed is weird considering how they always insist that science is not wrong and Fitz clearly says it's against science.
! So yeah either Legends of tommorow rules with Fitz being wrong or Dragon Ball with a mistake.
! I would prefer Dragon ball but the Fitz seems like such a glaring flaw I don't think they wouldn't have notice.

Agents of Shield S5 Ep9 - Best Laid Plans

! Okay, the show really wants us to think that it's a time loop. But we only ever hear that theory from Fitz's mouth and Simmons seems skeptical. So they found Gravitonium on the Zephyr and Fitz figures that they saw that first on the Lighthouse, then traveled back in time and installed it on the plan. That's one possibility.
! Tess is alive! Somewhat. Severe PTSD Tess. I guess that's what you get when you don't erase the patient's memory after the resurrection. I wanted her character to serve a purpose and she still has to. Maybe it's just convincing Flint to go with his new caretakers.
! Mack and Yo-Yo save the human race which they should put on their résumés. They had to argue some beforehand. But it looks like Turtleman's plan to stall was the right decision. Sidenote: Tess had no issue running through the force field so it's one-sided? Makes sense in this instance because Kasius can have them shot or whatever from his side. But it didn't work that way when Fitz, Simmons and Daisy fled from the fighting pit. Oh well. The guys with staffs powering the shield were momentarily down. You got me show. Again. I'm bad at watching TV.
! Daisy ponders if she should not get her powers back. For meta budget reasons one could actually believe that to happen. But it would suck for the momentum of the show. Anyway, Daisy Johnson agent of Shield kind of manages to deal with Sinara. With some help from Deke and gravity.
! Simmons has the terrible idea to just navigate the gravity storm. It works out okay because that's one of the many things we need May for. Besides being a strict 7:30 curfew mom.
! Next week is the big 100th episode and (no spoilers actually)
! >! Edit: Forgot about Kasius's seer. That's so random. I just thought he faked Mack's voice somehow and got the information directly from the team. Maybe he has an Inhuman with that power because another actual seer at this point just seems weird. ! Some people think Kasius has another Yo-Yo stashed away. That would explain why we got a scene about Yo-Yo confronting the Kree in the original (or not) timeline. Kasius had her captured then. He sees the second Yo-Yo now and recognizes her immediately. So afterwards he takes his captive Yo-Yo out of a box and interrogates her about the various loops she's been through. It's all very weird, is dependant on there being a time loop and I'm not sure it all makes logical sense. But it sounds interesting.

! They are not a freaking time loop. Fitz reaction in the flashbacks are way to skeptical to be someone that already lived the results. Heck the whole point that schematic of the machine take decades seems silly if Fitz already know it. Plus it would be narrative nightmare. So no time loo they just want people to think there is one.
! Also considering how old Robin was Yoyo would be way to old. And why the hell would they keep her around for 76 years? Even if it is the case(let's say they kept her for inhuman research) it would just be Yoyo that had Robin rant about everything from the future and a tool to make us think that there is a time loop but there isn't. A time loop is way to impractical. Heck if there is a time loop Kasaus should be helping her destroy the world since his business need it. There is no time loop.
! 100 episodes probably means flashback of happy lives. Maybe happy mom May and happy Fitz Simmons.

! I hope the Flint's getting fight happy moment isn't foreshadow. Honestly don't know if it's a time loop or not. Maybe an alternate time loop. The other time line has a time loop that affects…you know what, screw it. I'm not even gonna try.
! Kasius knowing Yo-yo should've put up some huge flags. Hope that gets addressed. Not sure why Madam Mcballs didn't use her weapons. Good fight though, and Kasius can't be far behind. Unless, he brings back a zombie Mcballs. How did Kasius know about the plane? Robin clone? But, does he even know Robin has a power? Maybe he just hacked Mcballs' communication Ipad.
! Not sure how they gonna convince Flint to go. Even if Mack and Yo-yo are pretty much his parents.

Heck the whole point that schematic of the machine take decades seems silly if Fitz already know it. Plus it would be narrative nightmare. So no time loo they just want people to think there is one.

Even if it is the case(let's say they kept her for inhuman research) it would just be Yoyo that had Robin rant about everything from the future and a tool to make us think that there is a time loop but there isn't. A time loop is way to impractical. Heck if there is a time loop Kasaus should be helping her destroy the world since his business need it. There is no time loop.

! Okay fine. I was wrong about practically everything. The loop is confirmed and nobody traveled back with the agents. So the whole point of going to the future was finding out what would happen. Flint isn't a new variable because he always sends the team back. And now he apparently does fix the earth.
! I like that Simmons is witnessing new ruthless Fitz. I am here for that kind of drama. And she gets to incapacitate Kasius so that Mack can finish him. Kasius has become totally unhinged and decides to go out in a blaze of glory (?). How weak was he before ingesting that drug? He did barely any damage considering. Although I suppose his physical strength didn't get enhanced, just his pain resistance. What a lackluster suicide drug. I think Kasius's line was to prevent the agents from going back so they would not be able to stop his father's conquering of earth. Is that right? And then he would somehow still be with Sinara in another timeline. Or he just didn't care anymore because she was dead. Unknown.
! Sometimes it's unfortunate that the internet is capable of coming up with so many theories. When I saw seer Elena I wasn't totally shocked. That just confirmed a theory that had sounded likely. Young Elena seemed to immediately buy into the time loop suggestion. Admittedly, the other Yoyo is making a strong case just by being there. The only things we got from that conversation was to cherish Mack before his death and to let Coulson die.
! Oh yeah, Coulson is dying. I'm not 100% sure why. I guess something did get infected. That's always the kind of inevitable doom much more deadly than a space station full of Kree. But is it more deadly than a pissed off Daisy? She wanted to stay behind because of course they would find a way to fix her powers just in time. She is fully aware of that. ! So loop it is. Like I said Fitz and Robin both making it there made the most logical choice. It was either that or legends/back to the future but it would still be wonky with Fitz that left after the team. Buuuut I hate it, I hate hate it, I hate it. I freaking hate loop in serialized fiction. 90% it will change but a loop is imposssible to change. You can time if there is new info added to the mix but in a loop there is never new info and there shouldn't be a way to fix it. And let's be serious the earth won't be destroy. They will just magically get out of the loop just because. God I hate shonen in a more series.
! Aside from that rant of that a Loop idea is the worst idea ever I enjoyed the episode very much. It was interesting to see Kassius losing his shit more and more, talking to dead Sinera and even going as far as committing suicide something he was always afraid off. Armless Yoyo was interesting.
! Fight with Kasius was awful. Fight with Daisy was cool.
! I actually enjoy everything involving Coulson. Reminded me of badass Coulson deciding to go kill Ward and jumping directly in the portall from a plan. And I like the visual of him and May standing side by side with Quake in his hands.
! Never gave much of a damn about Deke and his good-bye with Daisy were weird. Enok sacrifice was kind of hollow since we did not really see him bond with Fitz. They could have had Fitz wake up 1 or 2 years before all of it and spend time with Enok but as it stand they barely knew each other.

! I just started S3 on my rewatch. The monolith exploded after Daisy held it open as long as she could by vibrating it. I didn't quite remember how they got back to Maveth later but I read up on that. Hydra had cut out a couple pieces which explained the holes in the first monolith. The one we just saw in the new episode is smooth.
! Deke might be their grandson, I guess. But what would be the point? Just fan service? There haven't really been any hints to work with but then I suppose they'd want to spring that on us at the right moment.

! I really didn't like that new sentient recorder robot. For many reseons. First thing i consider the actor bad at playing Robot. Enock always felt like what we believe to be AI in his mannerism and way to talk. But in the case of this new guy he just feels like a person trying to not show his emotions. The goofball that is hiding his emotion because he is a guard or something like that. Easy example being him getting upset about his keyboard. I'm sure others have seen movies with this type of character. Even his way of talking about Enock seems like someone talking about his buddy and rebellious colleague rather than just another model of the same program. Second it's weird that is more than one of them on this one planet with no forshadowing to it on top of all. The computer surveillance thing is also weird and out of touch with Enock and an observer of the human race. I mean who seriously imagine them spending their time watching computers?Third why the heck would their base be in the lighthouse they know close to nothing about? Remember how it was a bunch of unknown and now there is a suited robot that is suddenly the expert. Fourth he is useless. He straight up die in the same episode he appeared. He doesn't really bring any new information that the computers would not do by themselves. He really just felt like they loved Enock tried to recreate the chracter with someone else and then blew him up when it did not work.
! I believe the Kree beacon called Kasius dad.

I am also not sure how the heck she got her hand chopped off. I mean she was at superspeed so I don't get how the blade got her. But also I am not sure how the hell it cut both arms. Like what movement was that razor doing or what was she doing for that to happen? Did she put both her hands up or something? It's weird.
! Deke is in the present. I am not the biggest fan of his banter so I can't say I am happy. I liked his apreciation of the trees and trying to eat Ice cream from the trash. I would have prefer him wandering in the outside(since they were aleays inside in the lighthouse) more than him immediately going for something similar to the lighthouse construct. But it wasn't bad.

Jessica Jones Season 2 dropped today (Happy International Women's Day). Thoughts:

Without spoilers, Season 2 is pretty distinct from the rest of the Defenders catalog. It's a slow, deliberate burn centering on a discussion of mental health and addiction; while people will certainly still criticize it for its slow pace, I personally thought that each episode and subplot, except for maybe one, felt very necessary and intentional. The antagonist lacks the charisma and screen presence of the Purple Man (who does make a one-episode appearance) but remains interesting and relevant to Jessica in her own way. Actually, it's probably the best I've seen the 'dark reflection' trope executed in any modern Marvel series. So while there's less of a feeling of urgency, it's still very compelling.

As far as characters go, Jessica continues to get the raw end of life, Malcolm is the closest thing to a human cinnamon bun, Trish goes through some heavy stuff that's sure to be divisive, and Hogarth's plot is very emotional but somewhat tangential to the rest of the story. In terms of tanking it against the rest, I'd put JJS2 in third behind Season 1 and Daredevil S1, though both Luke Cage's and DDS2's early arcs would rank above it too.

Agents of Shield S5Ep12 - The Real Deal (The Big 100)

! Okay. The fanfics came true. I didn't think I needed to see an on-screen wedding but when it did happen and when they found a way to make a ceremony work with everything that's going on, I loved it. And I have similar feelings about Deke's heritage: Why would he be related to them? What's the point? Oh my god, he is? That's adorable because he is adorable!
! That needed to be said first. So now back to the beginning. We start with a very (very) comic book explanation about a dimension of Feeeaaar!! Did we really need all three monoliths to explode to create this rift*? Unknown but apparently it's still in play. It was a good concept for an important episode. It is unfortunate that the execution was severely lacking.
! *Doctor Who says hi.
We get served a mix of Buffy's Fear Itself (demon manifesting everybody's biggest fears) and Normal Again (Buffy being made to think that she's been in a mental institution her whole life). Neither got fleshed out that well. It turns out that you can just shoot your way out of all of your problems and while the conversation between Mike and Coulson was very good (I loved the intercuts of past events/people), it suffered from Coulson's unshakeability when he refused to believe anything at all. ! I was also very disappointed that the other's didn't get to interact with their fears in an interesting way. The Buffy episode let us dive into our character's minds by visualizing their insecurities. It was still mostly about escaping with your life but it was more exciting than immediately turning Lash or Hive into dimensional dust. Where were Daisy's parents? Maybe Cal goes crazy again and they should have put him down. Or maybe Daisy who is being groomed (brided) to lead Shield will turn out to be a ruthless leader like Jiaying. Fitz's dad. Jemma realizing she's an LMD. Mack still being in the framework after all. I feel like we missed out on some cool scenes because they tried to do too many things at once. I suppose we could still get to all that later on considering we aren't done with the rift yet. I would like that.
! What they did really well in the present though was revealing Coulson's current state. That came with a couple amazing scenes and development. The fact that Ghostrider burned through Coulson's mojo sounds like a side effect to me. Is there more to the deal that we don't know yet or did Ghostrider just really want to destroy Ophelia?
Yo-Yo has yet to tell the team that they might not want to save their leader but she's only recently started to believe the warnings. She probably wanted to mention it right before the Jemma-bot started smothering her. Poor Elena. Didn't even get to be at the wedding. :(
! Neither did Piper who Fitz was all too willing to just throw to the wolves. Horrifying and hilarious at the same time. I call it horrilarious. And then we get Daisy saying: 'This isn't Hydra, Leopold' at which he visibly recoils and Jemma stands up for him. Because Daisy just murdered her fiancé!
! Meanwhile, Deke manages to organize a wedding which includes:
! - bringing the guests. Davis is alive!

• finding an ugly second-hand wedding dress
• providing the rings

! Which brings us back to the ceremony. As I said I appreciate that we got a pretty setting which still made sense. Mike and Deke's back and forth was priceless. I kinda wish we had gotten to hear Jemma's and Leopold's middle names, I don't know. It's not important.
Simmons's vow was nice while Fitz's was a little generic. 'You're perfect. I don't deserve you.' Sure. Maybe if he had just experienced some sort of fear manifestation in which he had to confront how awful he can be while Simmons is so much better than him. But I digress...
! Instead, I'll just think back to the elevator moment where Coulson calls Fitz out for stalling and I immediately thought that something horrible was going to await them/Coulson. But then it clicked and Fitz was super cute and nothing bad happened ever again.So an overall good episode with better concepts than execution. But I had a lot to write about it which is a good thing considering it's the 100th one.

I wish I didn't know it was the big 100. As an episode it is pretty good but as a 100 it is meh except the last part.

! The episode should have only been about Coulson saying his goodbyes and Fitz/Simmons marriage. Both great story for a 100 and capable or carrying a whole episodes. Coulson interraction with May, his parental love for Daisy and Fitz/ Simmons relationship are strong pull for the watcher and bring back much memory and both can easily lands to memory lane.
! Fear is a staple of any long running sci-fi/magic story. But damn this shield waste it. It was just some random monster rather than be the character study that it normally is and should be. The only one to scratch the surface of that facet is Coulson but I say it comes a little to late. It would have had perfect place in the framework but not so much in here where Coulson hass been through to much to falter convincingly falter. Which make e say a 100 episode in the framework season would have been perfect.

I wasn't thinking about a wedding at all but as soon as Coulson said to Fitz in his suit that he was stalling I knew that's what we were getting(he talked about it being symbolic and giving hope earlier). And Godamnit I was happy for them. Fitz did so many crazy shit to get to there. Went to space and time… Yup couldn't have been happier. And learning Deke was there grandchild made me happy they got to make a family even in the shitty world they got.
! But Deke being the grandson means a parent was their chlld(giving credence to Deke's dad learning from Daddy Fitz to work the machine) which makes the whole hope in the future less interesting to me. If your parent is one of the actual people that lived the event and have factual knowledge it makes it less about faith and more about logic for your descedent to believe and it's a less inspiring/captivating story to watch.
! Cool forest. It is nice that Deke has such pretty nightmare. Also ironic for someone who likes tree. I wonder if his parents read him to many red riding hood.
! I continue to believe in the sending the team into a parallel dimension. Now there is even a door.
! I will probably enjoy the series more once they have taken care of the loop they should not be escape from and will escape anyway.

Jessica Jones

Ep 7 of Jessica Jones is the first great one of the season(s2) for me. It recontextualize the whole season the first half in a way I might enjoy it but mostly it is just a great character study and a look into someone losing itself and latching on the little they have left. It also help give the season focus as I feel the whole batch of episodes felt a bit haphazard and disjointed. Especially on Jessica's side. It was interesting to see Malcom dealing with the struggle of addiction and Hogarts while the most disconnected is the most interesting storyline to me because it is interesting to see a less perfect person be in this story. Trish side is half and half. I think her insistence on telling Jessica how to face her demons in this particular case was annoying but at the same time it goes with her need to be something more.

My biggest issue was with the main thread and Jessica that seems to be struggling to have any real dynamic to it. It's just there because it has to be. The voice overs also seems more gimmicky than part of the narrative and I kind of miss Jessica showing how she is a great detective by using little tricks people would not necessarily think of. The dialogue is less natural. Hogarts has a dialog with Jessica which turns into a speech I doubt she would give to Jessica in that context.

It was never bad just not that good . Like I said every 7 is great and having that and going back might make it better but there is one choice I did not like

! Jessica robbing stuff.I think it goes against the character we were presented in season 1.
! She was presented a a naive young girl that loved to help people and couldn't do bad until Killgrave broke her. That's why the murder was so against her nature that she broke free. So seeing her as a robber seems against that character and to me lessen the impact Killgrave had on her. I am not saying I am right just that this choice didn't sit right with me.
! Thy mostly seems to want to repurpose Jessica to have always been trouble but I guess it happens when you try to introduce a new trauma or give it more space.

Funny enough I think this season is one that should not be binge watch but rather watch a nice pace to let it sit with you.

Ep 9 feels like a really good ending spot.

I didn't mind Trish in season 1, but now here in season 2…yeah I hate her guts.

I give season 2 a 6/10. The villain wasn't was good as season 1. This series definitely felt like it dragged more. This is nowhere near as awful as Iron Fist, but if I had to rank all the seasons thus far I think this would be second to last.

Agents of Shield S5Ep13 - Principia

! Grumpy old man Fitz is being such an ass. Who is ever that annoyed by their grandkids anyway? Children, yes but not grandchildren. Anyway, it does work and it is funny (my god, the playing catch! 'Toss me the ball, we'll play fetch.') but he's mean. Not for very much longer though considering Deke has already figured it out. Good old AoS pace will have Deke revealing it to SimmonsFitz next episode right before something horrible happens, or right after something horrible will have happened.
! I'm happy the Von Strucker kid is back. He has an intense gaze. Ruby I'm not a fan of right now and I don't see her pulling off a coup at all.
! So General Hale had taken most of the gravitonium and left some behind to keep the ship afloat as well as some robots to guard it? Not sure why they didn't take all of the substance. Or maybe it was already gone when she got there first and Graviton just left by himself. And still left some behind, I don't know.
! The first evil fear dimension appears to Dawn Deke as her his dead mother to give some cryptic and probably malevolent advice. That's Fitz and Simmons's daughter! :D It's good to see that the rift is still active.

I think Jessica Jones season 2 works on the level of being an interesting morally grey character study. Most of the developments that happen in this season technically make sense and sound cool on paper. I respect how boldly it took certain character arcs to switch up the status-quo and trying to step away from the usual villain formula we typically get. I was wondering how this season would manage having to make up its own material since Jessica Jones does not actually have her own long-term ongoing series, mainly just the Alias story about Kilgrave/Purple Man adapted for season 1 and being Luke's wife in the comics. But for the route it tried taking, I kind of like the unique direction they show was trying to experiment with.

However… damn, a lot of the execution in this season is flawed. VERY flawed. I can't go deep into that end without spoilers, and I'm not in the mood to talk about that off the top of my head unless somebody wants that, but a lot of people are going to be upset about specific elements for very good reasons I have to at least ostensibly agree with. I definitely think there were better ways to handle certain aspects the season was trying. Especially with Trish lol, yet even then I think I can grasp what the writers were trying to do with her and I like how ballsy it is, conceptually speaking.

The potential damage done this season that will be both very interesting and maybe near-impossible to repair in the future, although that is pretty exciting for me since there are so many ways for this series' future to go now. Especially since season 2 is barely affected by the events in Defenders at all (you can watch the entirety of Jessica Jones and not be confused about anything minus a couple token references).

And yeah, I have heard complaints about this season's pacing being slow, which is true. However, I do not necessarily mind that since this show focuses a lot more on being a compelling character study than the usual enthralling "hero vs. villain" story. Most of the episodes all serve a purpose for exploring motivations, relationships, trauma, prejudice, and ethical dilemmas.

Jessica Jones season 2 has rough edges. Many rough edges. But I would still take it any day over Iron Fist season 1, Defenders, or the second half of Luke Cage season one. There are even some things I think this season did better than season one and vice-versa.
