Fox does not own the rights to Wasp lol.
Marvel Movies Thread - Holy Shitballs

-
When Fox bought the movie rights, they bought rights to all of Marvel's "Mutant characters". And from what I've seen from comic fans debating Janet is consider a "mutant" and because of that she could be at Fox.(Mind you that this was just from fans and that their were fans defend that she wasn't a "mutant")
Can't really say why Quicksilver will be in Avengers 2, maybe Disney was able to get Fox to give them the rights to use them. And as to why they won't do the same for Jane may be because they may want to have Hank as Ant-Man, because of the whole wife beating thing.
And as to why would Whedden would try to include Janet but not Hank in Avengers original scripts was maybe he wanted to do something different with her as a character with out Hank being there. And since this is Marvel movie verse he could have more leeway by Marvel and fans to change things up a bit.
-
Wasp is only a mutant in the Ultimate Universe, but that doesn't count. Even if it did, they would share the rights like they do the Maximoff Twins, the Shi'Ar, the Skrulls, etc.
-
Whedon wants Janet cause Janet is known for her sass. And Whedon. Loves. Sass. And female characters. If anything, Janet would have worked fine alone. It could have been an instance of her trying to help out however she can while Hank is busy. It could have been a great build up for Ant Man.
And even if Wasp IS a mutant, she's still an Avenger. Plus, she doesn't have to be a mutant in the Marvel movie canon.
[hide]Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are being hinted to be something other than mutants in Avengers 2.[/hide]
-
I love how everyone ignored my comment/question about Vin Diesel and went straight to Ant-Man.
It's hard to imagine Hank not being Ant-Man in the Avengers universe they've set up so far. All the heroes are just getting started, and if they are using Ultron in the next movie, Hank is going to be needed around. Yeah yeah, he's not going to be the direct creator (likely), since he's not in the movie, but he can't not be tied in somehow.

[hide] I thought it was implied/stated that they are going to be Inhumans. Or is that just another word for Mutants? [/hide]

[hide] I thought it was implied/stated that they are going to be Inhumans. Or is that just another word for Mutants? [/hide]
[hide]I believe Inhumans were artificially made superhumans.
Like, how mutants are supposed to be the next step in evolution due to the X-gene? Inhumans were given powers through DNA splicing, an experiment done by the alien race, the Kree. The Kree (who were fighting against the Skrulls at the time) took various humans from earth, spliced their DNA. The Kree abandoned the project for reasons currently unknown in the comics.
However, it left a collection of super humans like Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal, and several more.
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are mutants. Only real relation they've had with the Inhumans is the fact that Quicksilver and Crystal have been married.
Making the two of them Inhumans could work, but it'll suck not having the children of Magneto be mutants. Then again, X-Men and Avengers won't be crossing each other movie wise for a long, long time.[/hide]
-
Mutants are an alien experiment as well (by the Celestials), but Marvel is sweeping that under the rug to give the Inhumans a more sympathetic minority angle than mutants.
-
JGL will not be Ant Man: http://www.comicbooktherapy.com/now-joseph-gordon-levitt-laughs-silly-ant-man-rumors-162052
It was nothing more than a rumor. I hope JGL gets into the Marvel world somehow, though.
The general assumption is that Paul Rudd may be a rumor as well, as both actors came from the same source.
-
I didn't think he would be. Like I said, he just didn't really fit the image of Hank Pym, as good an actor as he is.

Vin Diesel was confirmed back in August.

As for Ant Man….I'm still holding onto my 0.000000001% chance for Nathan Fillion

Meta-humans probably, which is what they're using in Agents of shield or something to that extent assuming i haven't imagined that

Stupid Marvel gives us a 10 second teaser for an exclusive iTunes trailer:
Awwww, Black Widow straightened her hair. I liked it curly.
-
Didn't they get rid of the curls after Iron Man 2?
-
Man, fuck iTunes! We about that ET life!
Actually, screw ET, cause they talk over this trailer. Still, that final bit of Winter Solider. <3
EDIT: Apparently, we'll get the full deal at 9am. So about three hours where I am.
-
who's that guy?
-
Anthony Mackie as to who his character is no idea.
-
who's that guy?
Isn't Falcon supposed to be in this movie? I'm guessing that's him then.
-
Yes, that's Falcon.
twitches over when new trailer will be revealed to general public
-
Here's the Cap trailer:
And here's the DoFP teaser… for the trailer: http://instagram.com/p/f1nxeADozp/#
-
Are they even trying to hide who Winter Soldier actually is?
-
From the looks of it, not really. Cause not only do they show his face, they completely tell who it is on IMDB. Actor and everything. I want my hair exactly like that, though. He looks awesome.
Also, DoFP AAAAAAAAAAAH! <3
EDIT: Nick Fury telling Steve to keep BOTH EYES OPEN! lololololol
-
Will people remember who he was from the first Cap movie? I wish they'd focused more on Bucky in that one. He was basically an afterthought.
-
I barely remembered Coulson from the Thor and Iron Man movies when Avengers. Kept getting him and Happy mixed up. But once Avengers ended, I got to care more about Coulson.

Nice!!
Go Chris Evans! Go my fellow High School alum!
-
Awesome Cap trailer! The feel of the trailer is an interesting shift from the first movie.
-
Am I the only one who can't tell at all what the plot is supposed to be? A lot of cool looking stuff but not a lot of it come together. I trust that the actual storyline this movie is based off is more coherent?
-
I think they're expecting everyone to know the story it's based on. It's the only good Captain America story.

I think the trailer did a good enough of a job in that it's showing more what Cap is doing in his new life and that he'll obviously be working with SHIELD. You still don't know what the actual main conflict will be, but you get a general sense of how the movie's going to work out with Cap in his new role.
-
I know it doesn´t matter in the big schemes of things, but damn! How is S.H.I.E.L.D keeping their funding with all those hellicarriers being destroyed. Those things must cost billions of dollars to produce. I think good old Cap`n is going pro bono.
P.S: Awesome trailer, be HYPED!!

Its the first trailer. You dont need to know the plot from it, its not an indie arthouse movie its a comic book movie about captain America. Nothing too shocking is going to happen in the movie trust me. There is plenty of time for a trailer with plot to come out. Realize too a lot of people dont want to know the plot before going into the movie because hollywood has forgotten how to make a trailer without giving everything away.

Nice!!

You ever see him in real life? What is age difference and how big is your school?

I take it the story will revolve around Captain America figuring out what to do with his life now.
He obviously just joined SHIELD cause they kind of were the only option and it seems in the trailer he is not liking their methology of "killing before bad stuff happens" and what not else.
Thus I figure by end of movie he leaves shield and becomes a typical superhero in being solo and not affiliated with SHIELD in any way.
-

I suppose he could always try to form some kind of superhero organization.
-
Steve Rogers trying to adjust in a world he was never a part of and wishing he could rekindle his life with his past friends. He's forced to deal with SHIELD, who has morals and ethics that he doesn't entirely agree with. He teams up with Black Widow, someone who meets halfway between Steve's moral compass and SHIELD (known from their relationship in the Avengers), and Falcon, who we'll learn more about in the movie. During Steve's conflict with SHIELD, a terrorist group comes out of nowhere led by Winter Soldier.
Winter Soldier clearly has a personal vendetta for reasons we already know and also because you can see Steve in his apartment at one bit of the trailer, and at the very end, in the same outfit, fighting on a rooftop. Possibly implying that Winter Soldier is specifically targeting Steve.
When Steve finds out that…
[hide]…Winter Soldier is Bucky, it'll increase the conflict between SHIELD and Steve, because not only does Steve not want to kill a terrorist who could potentially be redeemed in life, he doesn't want to kill his best friend from the past. These could lead to two different directions.
1. There is no way around this, and tragically, Steve is forced to combat with his best friend, leading to Bucky's accidental death or suicide. I'd be surprised if Steve actually killed him, but it's possible.
2. SHIELD folds a little and help Steve take Bucky in. They find out that (like the original canon) Bucky's memories had been repressed against his will, and Steve some how breaks him out of his funk. Hopefully, Bucky will come back in Avengers 2 and maybe we'll get some Bucky/Widow action.
And there's probably someone behind everything.[/hide]
That's what I got from the trailer.
You know, besides Chris Evans wearing tight clothing and Winter Soldier being totally awesome.
-
You ever see him in real life? What is age difference and how big is your school?
He was a senior when I was a freshmen. So I have no memory of him whatsoever. The drama teacher, Mr. Plott, was super popular and I loved talking to him, so we might have crossed paths, but yeah, no memory of him. Our spheres didn't mesh, really.
The school was around 1000 students, at the time.

So they're going with the Super Soldier Costume in some of the scenes it looks like. A hypothetical situation that crossed my mind was that the movie could end with
! Bucky being recruited into SHIELD, and Steve takes over SHIELD to improve it (Nick Fury gets booted or demoted for some reason), and Steve will give a speech on how he's old school and the world needs a new cap and hands the title over to Bucky.
! But that will NEVER happen. Especially 'cause Chris Evans is "hawt!". And Sam Jackson's a good Fury.Either way I can't wait to see it. Cap's my favorite of the Avengers.
-
!
-
! I see what I assume is a Kitty Pryde, a Wolverine full of bullet holes, and Magneto and Professor X playing chess (naturally), but I have no clue who the other two are.

Iceman and Mystique in Jennifer Lawrence form.
-
Ooohhhhhhhh. Duh.
If they bring in Kitty Pryde they better damn bring in Collossus. But that's just me being fangirly.
-
Colossus is in this movie. They're probably going with the Kitty/Iceman ship though because it's been used in the films, cartoons and comics now. Also Colossus has no personality and Shawn Ashmore is pretty awesome (especially with beard).
-
I always thought he was kind of a boring Iceman, save for X-Men: Last Stand and that bit with his family in X-Men 2. BUT THAT BEARD THO!
-
He did what he could with the character. Being boring is Iceman in a nutshell. Even in the comics his whole narrative is "everyone gets fucked up except for Iceman, who is an accountant and makes jokes". He's most well known for his ice slides, but they didn't have the budget for that stuff 10 years ago.
-
Not counting avengers, but the first iron man and the first cap movie have been my favourites so far(although my friends all dislike the first cap movie). So I have high hopes.
I always appreciate the more physical nature of cap action scenes. It just feels like they have to put a bit more effort into it when your main arsenal of displaying coolness is a superfit human with a shield(lets not count explosions). I like the tone of the trailer but who knows, trailers aren't very telling.I hope it will be good.
-

! I know? I even said that. Not to mention I don't even want it happening, since Chris Evans is a phenomenal Cap and it'd be a waste to have him not be.
-

I always enjoyed how flirty he'd be to the other X-Men ladies and how much it'd never work out for him with any of them. But movie Rogue (while I do like her) was ready to screw him the second she saw him, there wasn't any time for that.
Plus we have more important X-Men to deal with. Like Storm….

Well when you don't have much screen time, there is only so much you can do.

Let's not talk about movie Storm. My roommate has me watching American Horror Story: Coven this season (I look away when anything gross threatens to show up) and Angela Basset plays an awesome Voodoo Queen.
Is it too much to hope we could get Angela Basset to play Storm in the new Movie-verse?
-
We already have Evan Peters…
And the girl with the rotten vagina is basically Rogue.

Actually, I'd love that. She'd be awesome.

If you mean Anna Paquinn, she's True Blood, not American Horror Story.
If American Horror Story Coven has a girl with a rotten vagina, I don't know about it.
Either way, I don't mind if actors from the same show get to play X-Men characters. Especially if it's Game of Thrones though.
-

One of the characters is a witch whose power is she kills boys she has sex with. A black widow, basically.
