Oda's Karoo has always been more brown. Yellow/orange was more an anime thing.
Sure. Brown, orange, whatever. But never grey. Compare the Vivre Card cover to this:
That's just not the same colour.

How many cards per booster pack?
It's unknown yet. Considering the the titles for the packs and the starter set that comes with the binder I'd have to imagine maybe ten or more (based on other booster packs). Granted these cards will be bigger than the usual trading card based on the binder's size.
The first two packs are "The Worst Generation" and "Masters of the East Blue". For the "Worst Generation" it will likely cover the Supernovas and Blackbeard pre-timeskip minus Luffy and Zoro since they come with the binder and it's unknown if it'll include the members of their crew that were present at the Sabaody Archipelago with them such as Heart Pirates (Bepo, Jean Bart, Shachi, and Penguin), the Kid Pirates (Heat and Wire, Killer will definitely be part of the pack), the Hawkins Pirates (Faust), and Blackbeard Pirates (minus the Level 6 prisoners, they might save them for "Masters of Impel Down").
The binder's starter set also covers the Romance Dawn Arc (with cards for Shanks' crew, Alvida, Koby, Helmeppo, and Morgan) and the Orange Town arc (with Buggy's crew, Boodle, and Chouchou) leaving only the Syrup Town and Baratie arcs for "Masters of the East Blue".
Hopefully they won't be random packs, so far Greg has given a soft confirmation that they won't, it be nice to have a hard confirmation just put those who are worrying about it at ease.

400 cards by this year right if my guess is correct they will cover the pre timeskip this year and maybe post timeskip next year
PS: if you calculate it 2 boosters per month and 12 months a year if they are aiming for 400 cards in 1 year minus the 32 starter
That is roughly 16 cards per booster and 32 cards per month what do you think?

A different shade, I'll pay, but he doesn't look grey to me. Could just be the lighting in these cover photos.

You can already preorder Shonen Jump issue 40 one Amazon JP. Due to the special cards I could imagine the preorders will be sold out very quickly.
Keep in mind that the latest print magazines on Amazon JP, that are distributed by Amazon (not resellers) are "ad on items" (highlighted by a blue sign: "ADD-ON-ITEM" - value of your basket has to be at least 2000Yen).

One of your twitter posts says the sames thing but you also mention that two cards will be revealed each month. Do you mean there will two cards revealed for different packs or for magazine released cards?

Yes, I ordered it when I saw One Piece will have cover and Color Spread in that issue. Even before the information of these promotional cards!!
I was wondering how they're going to cover secondary and minor characters to the various arcs (I get the feeling though there might be a few of these for the Charlotte family). These will probably also help keep the booster packs from being random packs. I also ordered mine although it was through a proxy shopping service (From Japan), although I ordered a few other things as well.
Also 31 of the cards have been revealed leaving one more card left.

Hey redon, where did you order the issue? And did you pre-order it together with the Vivre Card binder? How much is the shipping cost usually?
I think this new "databook" will end up being a huge money sinker, but I'm still itching to get it, ugh. I just pray to all gods that the vast majority of cards will not be random or included in stuff like this WSJ issue. Or else I'll be spending even more money on it

Hey redon, where did you order the issue? And did you pre-order it together with the Vivre Card binder? How much is the shipping cost usually?
I ordered Shonen Jump #40/2018 , One Piece Volume 90 and 2 Vivre Card copies in Amazon Japan for around 45$ (40$ for me becouse I used some Amazon points).
18$ for shipping cost, but package will arrive in 2 days so I think it's a good price.

My feelings exactly. I really want this thing, but I am holding myself until I have a clear notion of how viable it will be to keep it updated through import. Promotional cards like the ones released this week hurt considerably the chances of me getting this Vivre Book, although I think it's safe to assume those cards will be properly released later as part of a booster.

Some of the question marks are covering first-ever design reveals from Oda's sketchbook for characters.
-
I would like to order it too, but my doubts are about the future expansion. I don't wanna start a collection I could never accomplish to complete. How the expansion will be avaible? Attached to a Shonen Jump? As a purchasable pack as the base pack is? Will there be exclusive cards I have to sell my soul to obtain?
-
I was just checking out Amazon Japan to see if they listed any of the booster packs and came across some names for future packs:
December:
- The Desert Kingdom - Alabasta's Elite!!
- "Yonko" Whitebeard Pirates!!
January:
- Mobilize! Secret Society Baroque Works
- Seafloor Paradise - Residents of Fishman Island!!
February:
- Sky Island's Powerful Enemies
- Fishman Island's Powerful Enemies
It also says there are 16 cards to each pack.
Another thing to note is that despite being card packs they are listed under books instead of Hobby (like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Vanguard, etc.) and have ISBN's as well. While they don't give a complete list there some weird placements for some cards such as the Impel Down pack listing Pacifista or the Whitebeard pack listing Sabo as one of their cards.

Great! I was hoping for that. That's very good news for anyone in my country since books are exempt from taxing and all the bureaucracy that goes with importing goods.
However, now that I look at the booster names I suddenly realized I am not really feeling like buying a deck of cards for people like the Baroque Works or the New Fishman Pirates… maybe I will just stick with the groups I like and give up having the complete thing.
-
The new fishman pirates are the best antagonists in the series though…Led by Hody one of the best anime villains of all time. Who wouldn't want to buy that pack?

I brought up the fact that they're listed as books as a possibility that they're not random packs. Although the Whitebeard Pirates pack is one that kinda worries me since the description for the packs don't really dive into specifics for the packs themselves and it's unknown if it'll stick with with just Whitebeard and his division commanders (some of whom I'd imagine would end up on an EX card) or cover his allies as well which would than make the others random packs as well. Sorry to keep worry about this issue, but this is a new format and territory databook wise and so far we've only gotten an agreement that random packs wouldn't be a good idea, not an actual confirmation that they won't be random packs.

Wonder if the digital colour manga is going to get sped up a little, since they're obviously using the same team from that to make assets for the cards. Or at least, I hope the digital colour manga isn't slowed because the team is doing bits of recent chapters for the cards instead of powering through the next volume.

Do you know if we'll get canon information (aside from designs) that wasn't covered in the manga in these cards? Maybe like a Devil Fruit or something?
If so I gotta brush up on my Katakana

This is something I've been wondering about for awhile and since we're a week away from its release I was wondering what image they'll use for Koby and Helmeppo's cards? Will it be how they initially appeared in the series or will it be their post-Enies Lobby appearance and their original appearance will be on the back of their cards (just as Beckman's card has his current appearance and on the back it has how he appeared when he visited Luffy's hometown 12 years ago).
The other Straw Hat cards included in the starer pack will be post-timeskip appearances. The some of the names I got from the packs on Amazon show that Usopp and Sanji will part of the East Blue pack, Nami will be in the Arlong Park pack, and Robin will be in the Baroque Works pack. There is also some weirder names included in some packs such as the Arlong Park pack which will also include Smoker, Tashigi, and Dragon as well.

What do the cards reveal?

do we have any details about the cards' proportion? like, will we have something closer to lose book pages, or is it closer to Yu-Gi-Oh's and others TCG style?

Wow, that is exciting! May be worth getting just based off old designs alone.

Based on the video they're more like loose leaf pages as opposed to actual cards. However this does kind of confirm they won't be random packs since they come in a book like cover based on the video (hence why they're classified as books on Amazon). I noticed though that there are no holes on the pages (which promotional material has shown) which I thought there would be so you could place them in the binder.

I'm also wondering for the Supernova pack (it's actually called "Gathering! "Supernovas"!!", not "The Worst Generation") based on the images used for the upcoming packs if they're going to use their post-timeskip appearances (and just reveal their Devil Fruits) or just Law and Bege will have both pre and post-timeskip cards (so as to keep the remaining Supernova's DF's a secret).

The more I see of this, the more tempted I am to try and order it. Wonder what the odds are of finding Luffytaro and Zorojuro cards to complete the set after the current issue has come and gone, or how many other WSJ's I'd have to buy to keep the set complete going forward…
I guess we'll see if the scans when the actual thing comes out are enough to sate the urge.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
A thought occurs: We've been told that the folder has space for 400 cards in it, but also that it's "infinite." At 32 cards a month in the sets revealed so far, that will last about a year from the original release with plenty of space to account for promos like the Wano ones, so a while.
But when it does fill up, will the thing just keep getting stuffed fuller and fuller, will cards have to be swapped out, or will they drop a Vivre Card volume 2 folder or what, I wonder?
-
The back of the cards list in which Episodes (the term it uses to refer to the arcs) each character took place: East (Blue), Alaba(sta), Sky (Island), W7, Thrille(r Bark), (Summit) War, Fish(men Island), Punk (Hazard), Dress(rosa), Zou, WCI, Reve(rie), Wano.
It is weird to have an arc list - that obviously can't be updated - if this is supposed to be a "never-ending" databook… maybe Vivre Card will only be updated until the end of Wano?

Cards are current when they come out. When new arcs start, they'll be added to the list in new cards. Characters that reappear in the new arc (and play a significant role) will get a new card most likely. I don't see any issue.
-
^Sounds like a complete mess. I don't think they would go for that.
EDIT: I stand corrected!

That seems to be the most official arc/saga list we've ever gotten. Seems to mostly go by what we understand as sagas, but it's odd they'd separate Punk Hazard/Dressrosa, Zou/Totland and Reverie/Wano, which always felt pretty logical as two part sagas that lead neatly into each other to me.

I'll be honest… I haven't followed this thread and dunno what this is about.
But is there something interesting infos in it?

I'm definitely hoping they're not randomized, it would be very annoying for anyone outside of Japan (or even inside Japan) to collect them if they had to continuously order them. We'd also risk having cases of rare cards and scalpers, which plague many other collectible products. For something like a databook that contains important canon info, I legitimately hope they don't go down that route, let's pray that they stick to having all the different cards in each booster pack.
-
I wonder about the Strawhats' numbers, since Brooke could be card number 9, but is Jimbe number 10? And the future Strawhat (if there is one) will be number 11?
-

The booster packs are listed as books on Amazon instead of Hobby like other card based games. Also it would be difficult to randomize loose leaf pages, especially since I'm predicting they will packaged in a book like format (in which you can remove the pages) based on what appears to be cardboard sheets in-between the pages based on the image of the binder full of pages, instead of actual blister packs like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, etc..
Also Greg kind of confirmed they won't be random:
-

That's correct. They've already revealed that in Takashi's video.
Moriah, they come in books and the pages may be removed and arranged at will.
Which, I guess says they aren't random :)
-

That's exactly what I got from it, you buy more pages divided in packs and keep adding and re-arranging them at will. The concept seems odd at first, but this is rather genius, as it allows the book to be quite literally "never-ending", as they can simply release new information that you can add to it. With packs like the "Gomu Gomu no Mi Vol. 1" there's also the indication that we'll likely get other pages in the book that include things like devil fruits, locations, ships, etc. This really can turn out to be a never-ending book of knowledge!

By the way, not sure if it's been brought up already, but judging by the listings I'm seeing a pattern: The first booster pack in each month is part of the first half of the series, while the second is about the second half (Sabaody onwards). First booster set is late East Blue - Sabaody, second is Arlong Park - Impel Down, third Alabasta - Whitebeard Pirates, fourth Baroque Works - Fishman Island, fifth Enel's forces - New Fishman Pirates. Seems like each of them progresses to cover half of the story, meaning we might get 10-12 other booster packs total after that before it catches up (though they might add more stuff afterwards).
