be nice if i could watch it!!!!!! ><
grrrrrr
-
I never realy saw Savers , aside from the scene they riped out of MIB .
-
from a non biast view, it's about on the same level as fronteer. maybe a little better. it's kinda like tamers in that it pairs kids and digimon again, and they start off in the real world and end up in the digiworld.
-
More Digimon from JesuOtaku
LOL wow speak of the devil. Thanks!
As for seasons. Not too fond of the first parts of Adventure though after Server Island the story picks up steam. Loved 02, I clicked with the characters more. The final arc did get a little confusing though. Tamers was odd, I'll give it points for good character development but the stories got a little too dark. Did not like Frontier at all, its obvious they were trying for something akin to Adventure. But the characters were just flat and it didn't help the two lead characters got much of the screen time. Never saw Savers and X-Cross is a pretty decent series.
-
and i'm also one of the few who liked fronteer. it wasn't the best series, but I still enjoyed watching it.
From what I've seen of it so far, (27 episodes) that's pretty much how I feel about it too. At least it looks like it doesn't constantly introduce genuinely interesting subplots only to drop them before getting a chance to do anything with them.
@captain:I have to start watching this new series.
Xros Wars is epic. Like, seriously, it probably has the greatest start out of all five Digimon-series I've seen. (I haven't gotten around to watching Savers yet… Planning to watch it after I've finished Tamers and Frontier.) Sure, it still doesn't immediately get good, but it doesn't spend 13 episodes doing nothing before the plot kicks in either. Also, the animation quality is miles above any of the previous five seasons… And while I still think the traditional evolutions were better than the DigiXros of this series, (basically like the Jogress evolutions in Zero Two, only there doesn't appear to be a limit to how many Digimon can take part) this new concept still allows for a lot more variety in what kind of Digimon we can get… And Shoutmon X4K is epic.
-
I didn't even know there was a new digimon series .
-
I don't like how any of the characters look, watching the intro on youtube, but maybe it will grow on me. ugly characters have nothing to do with story anyways.
-
What I didn't like about frontier was the whole half series of the same battle, over and over and over again.. around 10 chapters of the same plot points repeated, they battle, koichi isn't like the other kids, they lose badly, something happens to let them live, they vow to not let it happen again, Repeat untill armageddon.
-
ya. it just wasn't as well developed. which is why I won't argue with people if they say they don't like it.
-
I quite enjoyed the cast from Frontier. That and the different take it went with the villains. Other than that, I completely forgot why I enjoyed it so much. Same for the other Digimon series. If I were to watch them now, I'm afraid I'd probably end up hating how they were structured.

Hmm wonder if Digimon isn't the stupid pokemon rip-off i always assumed it was?
You guys and your passion for it really got me thinkin.

It's not really a pokemon ripoff, the themes and plots are wildly different (besides the "my <mon>is my friend!" thing)</mon>

Well, Digmon isn't about a teenager that travels the world to capture the hearts of monsters in his balls, get badges other stuff.

Well i never really got around to watching it since they aired it at the same time as Pokemon. So i basicly skimmed it over once during a commercial break when i was oh twelve or so, noted that there were some more kids forcing cute monsters to do their bidding and thought to myself if this doesnt have a pokerap i'm changing back to channel 4 again. And since it didnt have any rap at all that was the last time i ever heard of Digimon.
Until today that is.

I would highly recommend checking it out. Definitely the first season at least (can't speak for Tamers, since I've never sat down and watched it). It's infinitely better than the Pokemon in that:
-The characters are diverse and relatable and go through actual develoment.
-It has an overarching and, at times, deep story.
-Most of the Digimon designs are just badass.
-It's not 95% filler
-Shit actually happens -
ya wolfwood. digimon's got a great story. (cept season 2) go watch the first season. digimon adventure. I bet you like it.

Correction: Watch season 2 up till the end of the Digimon Emperor Arc. Anything beyond that. Yeah, it becomes a muddled mess.

Allright then, i'll have a look. You haven't given me any reason to doubt your taste before.

except my liking of the zelda cartoon right.
-
Eh it could've been worse, besides i probably cant claim higher ground in taste above anyone since i've just realized that i think pound puppies look entertaining as shit.
-
ROFL. That was a pretty good review. The Miramax cut really is shitty, it's a damn shame the original never got a release.
I particularly liked the NC's new "Mindfuck" segment in it.

I'm glad that Doug is well aware of the history behind the movie. It made for a funny review, too. To me, the best part was that music video of that poorly written song. The real kicker was the "Dir. Tommy Wiseau" at the end of it. It seems like Doug will never be able to live The Room incident down, not that I'm complaining. I'm also glad that he didn't go overboard with Zig Zag constantly saying "Balls". The "Good night folks!" still made me laugh, though.
I've seen the Recobbled cut, and even had it on my old iPod. While it's not the best out there, it's still one of my favorites. With almost three decades of hard work put into that, it's impossible not to appreciate what Richard Williams initially intended with it.
-
Did anyone else notice how many callbacks he made to previous reviews in that video?
-The Room
-Sonic the Hedgehog
-Godzilla
-Tom and Jerry
-Street Fighter (but I guess that's just kind of a thing now) -
New episode of the Cinema Snob is out. Home Sweet Home.

@Senshi:
The real kicker was the "Dir. Tommy Wiseau" at the end of it.
True that. It made me laugh the most, probably because it caught me so off guard.

Is it me, or are the guys at TGWTG having a really hard time getting over Other M?

I don't remember that trait at all. I always felt that was right fit for him.

they had this whole thing in the first season about how his dad wanted him to be a dr, and he was doing it at first to please his dad, but then decided he had to lead his own life. i think they go over it in the myotismon arc where his digimon (what was his name) meets his brother, and starts arguing "what. what are you saying. joe can be anything he wants, defending joe" and joes brother says well it's gonna be kinda hard if he can't even stand the sight of blood and then explains.

Anyone else been watching the charity drive stream? It has been pretty interesting and had a few video premieres, one of which was Spoony's new show, Deadliest Character. The first battle was MechaGodzilla vs the original MMPR Megazord.
Also their was a new Ask That Guy, and others including Brad Tries Live. -

I'm actually impressed how well they've nailed the technical aspects of it this time, since they previously had numerous issues. It's mainly just fun to see so many contributors together and just having fun (for charity!). The videos are fun, and it's cool how they're actually letting the fans get involved with the phone calls and whatnot.

We've got three new videos from Spoony.
First off is Deadliest Character: Megazord vs Mecha Godzilla. Guest starring Linkara and James Rolfe.
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/bt/spoonyone/reviews/28870-the-deadliest-character-mechagodzilla-vs-megazordAlso, Spoony concludes his look at the Highlander franchise with a movie that's gone beyond the impossible and is worse than The Quickening. Here's Highlander: The Source

Just saw his review of The Source.
Have to agree, it is worse than the Quickening.
Now I'm off to load The Deadliest Character.

New Bad Movie Beatdown! It's the Holiday Episode. Film Brain looks at a horror movie set around Christmas that could very well be a Lifetime Movie if you took out the violence and language. Here's While You Were Out
