Well fuck. I knew somebody was going to die.
The Promised Neverland
-
-
Norman had too many death flags for his fate to have been anything else, but damn does it still hurt.
-
! Somehow, I just don't see Norman dying. I have a feeling it's all part of Mama's plan.
-
The pen will save everyone with it's mystical powers.
-
I get the feeling that Norman is going to survive, too. HQ Rescue mini-arc incoming.
He and the other top scorers are special, makes me think they won't be flower-paled right off the bat.
-
The way this story has pulled twists on us so many times it wouldn't surprise me IF he did survive.
Hell, maybe they've got a special place to raise boys into sperm-bearers to sire the smartest children.
-
The very fact that he has the pen still makes me believe he will survive. It depends what the pen does but it could be the catalyst for their escape.
-
Nobody gets their way in this series so Norman won't get his wish either.
-
The very fact that he has the pen still makes me believe he will survive. It depends what the pen does but it could be the catalyst for their escape.
DOES he still have the pen? What if he left it behind?
-
I feel like that's something we would've seen then. Norman is smart, he wouldn't have just put it back in the draw he would have at least given it to the two of them but we got no indication of that. And if he never took it out of the draw then there was no reason at all for us to see him find it. So he must still have it on him.
-
I don't think Norman is going to die.
The demons are pretty smart with the design of the farms, making it impossible for the kids to escape.
-
So it seems that the only way out is to take over the HQ and gain control of its computers to unlock the bridge, and possibly other security measures put in place. This will be a tough challenge. Seeing as how this series loves its twist, I see Norman being spared and made to be a helper. I could see Norman being used to gain information and smuggle info to the others.
-
-
Man, the emotional moments in this series sure are gut-wrenching.
whatever horrors Norman saw behind the door, it probably does not bode well for Emma and Ray.
-
krone's pen is still unutilized, that's why i don't think norman is dead..but it can also been than emma and ray will find it and use it by themselvs..but then what's the point of normal finding it first?
-
I feel so sorry for Ray & Emma.
But Norman is not dead though. -
Aw fuck, now what? Now how long are we going to be teased?
-
Considering the next chapter is titled "Resistance", it's still possible Isabella is a Double Agent and just really, really good at her role, having fooled all the kids, Krone, and even the demons.
My guess is that, being that "Isabella" was NOT born in the farm (having been born a year before the invasion), she replaced someone who was, while scouting resistance candidates and keeping up the "status quo" at the same time to maintain her role as "Mama".
-
I don't know if the story would go that far.
I still say they've got a place for boys to grow up to be sperm-donors.
-
chapter 31 raw
-
So girls have a baby before they become a Mama? Then I still say that some boys are raised to be sperm donors.
-
Great chapter.
I feel sorry for both Ray & Emma. They are taking it really badly.
Emma's face at the last page.O.o She better had not gone insane.
Isabella will always be an intriguing character. Sound like she's speaking from experience. So, Mama had a child once. I wonder if her child will ever show up.
Honestly, I think she does care for the children…of course as livestock. Some farmers do take pride in their livestock. They will ensure their livestocks are well taken care of before sending them off to slaughter. Isabella is just one of those farmers. Kinda messed up though.lol -

I think from her actions that her child is one of the three. Most likely Ray or Emma.
-
All according to keikaku.

Kinda messed up though.lolwell, the appeal of being mama is staying alive doing something that gives you some reward feelings..if all was in the job was to survive to do something you hate, you would think people would not try to be a mama at all…survival in itself in a doomed world is not really a prize

Kinda messed up though.lolIn Isabella's "defence", she was once in Emma's shoes.
We saw that she also discovered the truth and wanted to escape, but ended up taking the Mama's route. Maybe she sees herself in Emma, and like Krone, maybe she's pissed off that the system is pretty much designed to make people screw over each other in order to simply survive.
In page 15, she went from calm, to pissed, to have an expression of pity. Maybe she wants Emma to accept the same path she took in order to reassure herself that she only did what anyone else would have done in her place. -
! From Reddit, credit of translation: andreaphobia
! Ever since Isabella began controlling them directly, the main targets of her control were Emma and Ray. Because of that, the two of them put on an act as though they had given up completely, and entrusted the escape preparations to Don and Gilda.
! For the escape, Don and Gilda prepared various things such as food and cold-weather gear.
! Emma proposes escaping "tomorrow afternoon", but Ray rejects that, saying they should do it tonight.
! The plan is to set fire to the house in order to escape. Under the excuse of evacuation, everyone will be taken outside, and they'll mess up the keyhole providing entrance to the basement in order to stop a report from going out.
! They'll climb the wall, throw some Molotov cocktails (wtf) they prepared into the next plant to pull attention away from their escape, and then head for the bridge.
! To Ray, who is covering the dining hall with oil, Emma points out that even if there's a fire, won't Mama forget about the building and come straight for them first?
! Ray, who had expected this point, pours oil over his head, stunning Emma. He says, there's no way you can overlook a full score burning in front of you.
! Leaving Emma all the photographs he took of everyone with the Polaroid camera, and saying that she and Norman should be sure to live on, he sets fire to himself. As Emma's screams echo out, the dining hall is engulfed in flames.

! Holy shit, this series got dark.

Chapter 32 Raws

!
I don't know if I've chosen the best time to start reading this.

A rather appropriate gif.
Fucking dammit, how many times is this series going to do this?

What about that fucking pen? How much more does poor Emma have to suffer until that comes into play?
-
ch 32
and then it was revealed this was an alternative prequel for Fire Punch
-
I was wondering where the hell did Ray got all the oil from…Then I remember the lanterns use oil & he could have got some from the kitchen.
It's pretty careless of Isabella...then next chapter it turn out she had sprinkler installed.
One of my pet peeve in this series is how the kids always discuss their plan out loud. Mama is always watching us but lets discuss our plan in an area where people can listen on easily!

http://mangaseeonline.us/read-online/The-Promised-Neverland-chapter-32.htmlI guess Ray really wasn't wasting time these past few years, holy cow!

Sprinklers can't put out oil fires. If you want to put out burning oil you need sand. Or dirt.

There's probably a dozen of excavators just waiting to be put to good use.
-

Well with sprinklers it would be hard for the fire to pass on to other rooms and the whole house because ray didnt use that much and with enough water you can still extinguish oil fires but dad wouldnt be my first option…
-
i don't know, the plan sounds really bad..especially when you count that only 3 of the people whose are escaping know that they are escaping and why and only 1 of those 3 actually knows that the plan starts right now.
I mean, how do you convince all those toddlers that they have to run away when all they have ever knew was the loving mama that always took care of them?
i get that ray needed the surprise effect to make his "stunt",but making it a surprise plan only makes things incredibly more difficult for an already incredibly risky plan.also it would be strange for isabella not to have considered suicide as a possibility..i mean those kids know thay are going to be eaten by demons…suicide is a viable option to stick it to them.
-
The problem remains. If Isabella realizes she can't get Ray intact, she may just ignore him along with the house altogether and focus on Emma.
-
For the start of what we've been building towards… this was kind of a weak chapter.
R: "Yo Emma, that's your big plan that you spent two months figuring out? Escape during the middle of the day?"
E: "Okay, then what's your idea?"
R: "Self-immolation, starting now."
E: "Fucking what?!"
Emma's plan was immediately useless, and Ray's plan was put into action out of nowhere with zero dramatic buildup. Considering how emotionally brutal the lead up to Norman's "death" was, another main character offing himself that quickly seems silly.
Why didn't he say something like "leave distracting Momma to me," then he wanders off to get her attention as Emma lights the room on fire, we see him dousing himself in oil along the way, and then he lights himself up the moment Momma sees him? At this point, there's no guarantee that she'll notice in the 3-5 minutes it'll take for him to be reduced to a charred husk.
-
! Ray is NOT dead. Emma managed to stop him in time. So, he's just cut off his ear (or a fake ear, plottwist again).
! >!
! Honestly, it's feel like a really cheap plot twist. -
Ch.32 Raw here.
http://juinjutsuteam.forumcommunity.net/?t=59656227#entry423865093
! Did you really have to cut off your entire ear, Emma? Couldn't you just gouge out the earlobe?
-
! I feel like Emma has been hiding a darker personality since the beginning. They've alluded to Norman having an older sister and that she and Emma were very close. Maybe after learning what really happened to her, Emma had some sort of psychotic break that caused this darker personality to surface.
-
! We all have a dark side to our personalities. Given what kind of crap Emma has gone through, it's easy to see how that side may have gotten even darker.
-
chapter out
! so..all the kids knew?and they accepted their mama is a killer without any of the little ones getting upset enough to be noticed?
doesn't sound that realistic.
! also…after the first few seconds into the attempt to stop the fire mama should have just give up..i mean it's not like humans can survive that long on fire
