@midod he's perfect.
-
This is the first time I heard Queen's dub voice and I already like it.

I have to say I'm kindve confused over the episode counts were getting. They seemed to be trying to seperate the voyages by the acts they cover? But they easily could've done that here and aren't. We have 16 act 2 episodes left, they could have easily had 2 voyages of 13 episodes and 1 voyage of 14 episodes for act 2. Doesn't matter as much now with the speed were getting these episodes but still bugs me.Yeah, I was thinking about this before. I think, since they don't know the length of this season (first time), they're just going to go with a standardized 12 episodes. They can't really plan ahead for capping a season off, y'know?
But maybe if they see a better spot an episode or two in a different direction, they'll go with that? I'm not sure who's in charge of that decision, and we can't assume all the decision-makers over there are familiar with OP story events. It would be a good question for a Q&A. Does Anthony/Mike have any say in where the sets stop and end?
-
They me actually even be a bit farther than we thought. Emily Fajardo was on the One Piece Podcast a bit ago and she said both that she’s worked on about 60 episodes over all (she started on 915), and implied Yamato had already been cast. Makes it sound like they’re at least in the 980’s or 990’s, maybe even approaching 1000
-
@Zephray You see that’s what I thought, 12 episodes a voyage for the foreseeable future seemed to make sense, but they then had voyage 2 be 13 episodes to stop at the end of act 1. Just seemed it like it would make sense to do the same for act 2 and just default to 12 for act 3 since it isn’t finished.

Yeah, I think they're just doing 12 per set, but then if they see a chance to add or subtract an episode to match the narrative, they might do it. That's my guess, anyway. I'm just curious who makes these decisions.

Major Attaway posting his song sequence:
Lol, keep listening on repeat. This is so good. Him and Orochi are so perfect for me. Still struggling with Komurasaki, who does a good job just isn't what I was expecting.
-
I'm actually curious who's voicing Tonoyasu. I had this weird hope that Lyle Rath would do his voice, but I'm not even sure he's with the Guild.
-
Tonoyasu is voiced by Kenny Green!

Am I crazy, or does this set cover less chapters than usual? I feel like this set moves at a crawl content-wise. Voyage three had so much great stuff in it. The next voyage to be super hyped about is voyage six. Five has some great BM stuff, but six is Ishitani & the flashback begins. Whew. Can’t wait.
Ah. And there’s a new theme song in this set. Bummer.
I remember the Udon prison eps just dragging out in general.
What new theme song?
-
The new dubbed set has the second Wano theme song.
-
Btw abt that, I kindve assumed they would’ve just used the version with the fixed outfit colors of dreamin’ on for any future release, but it’s still the original version and yeah it’s really jarring lol.
-
You have to remember there is 7 versions of Opening 23, Dreaming On.
Version 1: Original version (Episodes 935 - 947)
Version 2: Kawamatsu revealed (Episodes 948 - 958)
Version 3: Luffy and Law outfit updated (Episodes 959 - 975)
Version 4: The Raid/Tobi Roppo/Yamato (masked) (Episode 976)
Version 5: Denjiro revealed/Denjiro replaced Kyoshiro crying moment (Episodes 977 - 980)
Version 6: Jinbei joining the crew (Episodes 981 - 992)
Version 7: Yamato unmasked (Episodes 993 - 1004) -
Jeez, way too many.
-
It plays for an extremely long time, the only opening with more episodes is we go lol
-
My god...I completely forgot that there was an opening between Over the Top and Paint. I think I've somehow forgotten just how long Wano is.
I will excuse myself now.
-
Any way we catch up this year? I believe next year is more likely.
-
@Luffy_80
Yeah im thinking next year personally and i wonder how close they will stay to the japanese releases -

Imma pass on buying that, since I saw it twice in theaters. I’ll buy the Blu-ray. If anyone buys it here, can you let us know if they’ve dubbed the songs? Extremely unlikely, imo, but there’s always a chance.
-
LOL at how Toonami just aired the episode from Punk Hazard that had a voice cameo for Dr. Vegapunk. Apparently it was Eric Vale doing fill-in work?
-
Doesn’t sound like him to me. Where’d you hear that?
-
@Blake-Bakes-Cakes
Word-of-mouth from a chatroom -
Yeah I doubt it. They wouldn’t cast a straw hat as a major character like that, even if there was a decent chance the voice wouldn’t stick.

This post is deleted!

Eps 929-940 dubbed are now up for streaming on FUNimation.
Episode 929 has an audio issue. Audio is only playing through my center speaker.
EDIT - 929, 930, and 931 all have the same audio issue so far.
-
Double wow. No idea how far Clint is ahead of the booth, but awesome that he’s basically caught up!
And dang, I was rationing so hard I bought the set and haven’t watched an episode on it yet. So that was a waste of money, lmao. Two week turnaround is quick! I’ve been crossing my fingers that we’ll get another set next Tuesday.
-
When did the first Funi dubbed episodes happen?
-
Ever? June 2007.

Well if any one does buy it or if they can, go to Itunes and give the movie a good review cuss idiots are review bombing it just because it's not the subbed....even though it's clearly labeled Dub and Toei said the Sub will be up later.
Anyone can leave a good review btw, you don't have to buy the movie.
-
@Blake-Bakes-Cakes Oh, so it wasn't too long after 4Kids stopped then?
-
so realistically we could be looking at a Simuldub next year, man this so exciting we have a come a real long way
-
@Johnny-B-Decent There was actually no gap. The first funi episode aired the week after the last 4kids one.
-
Again if you can leave a good review on One Piece Film Red on the Itunes Store, please do as people are review bombing it just because it's the dubbed version up first.
Anyone can leave a review, you don't have to buy the movie.

An early announcement this time! Voyage five comes to Microsoft on 4/11!
-
@JustaGuy Well the film is actually incomplete with the dub release on digital which is a bigger yikes. Basically the movie had to crunch a bit during production, so a lot of retakes for a lot of aspects were done for the Amazon Prime release in Japan and probably the Blu-ray....but the dub release is the theatrical version
-
Also man we're almost done with Act 2 now in the dub, I still can't believe it sometimes lol
-
@Blake-Bakes-Cakes And now they are almost totally caught up to the Japanese version. They got to feel a sense of pride about that.

Okay but that not why people are bombing it. It's SOLEY due to it being the dub and not the subtitled release.

941-952 is the official count for this set.
-
I was trying to see how if they’d catch up this year if 3 weeks was the regular schedule for the rest of it (they just barely wouldn’t), and I realized I think the reason they’re sticking to 12 episodes per voyage might be that they want to have voyage 9 cut off cleanly at 1000.
-
I just finished (within the last hour) ep. 940, so this announcement for more episodes Tuesday was perfectly timed.
-
Yeah my wife and I had a snow day yesterday so we watched most of the set and finished it tonight, she was in tears.
Good to know more is on the way!!

Also, voyage seven will perfectly finish the flashback.
