I like the idea of Rowlet becoming an archer, though. We know it is silent and that it throws feathers at others, I didn't like how much this sounded like a ninja because, you know, Greninja. An archer would be a great way to use those elements and stay unique.

Foxes, dogs, it's still quadrupedal canine rock one, so if there is an eevee, it 100% won't be rock. Or ground.
And there should be one for every type.

We got flareon,vulpix, and growlithe in one gen, though gen 1 could make its own rules, so it is possible. Rather have a dragon as a counterpart to the fairy though.
I like the dog. It's design reminds me of my first dog Sue Lee. I feel I must train a Rock Lee now.

Some of them are, but it's actually quite a bit more flexible than that.
Case in point, Espeon, the two-tailed not-fox.
Also, I can't tell what Sylveon is supposed to be. I guess maybe it could be a fox but it doesn't quite look like one.But yeah, if they do make another Eeveelution, I can't see them making it feline again.

Interesting that the koala has an ability that lets it ONLY fall asleep, while the dog never falls asleep. If they're both in the start area anyway. I could see the koala being a bit later.

The puppy is unexpected, a rock type this early in the game grants many advantages. The koala is cute and has got an interesting ability befitting of that kind of mammal, but I don't think I'll be using one in my team.

Why? The battle graphics they had last time already strained the system to its limits… and the models are really high quality to future proof them. What would you want them to do exactly to improve?

Totally agree with you on the last part. But on the battles I expected more… texture and less pixelation (if you get what I mean). Didn't know about the straining of the system, though. Do you think this is as far as the 3DS can take Pokemon?

Yes, its actually more than the 3DS can handle. It's why the XY and ORAS slog like they do. Same as Smash Brothers, the system can just barely muster it by turning off every other bit of processing power.
ANd they're going for anime style, not realistic 3D renderings, which is the right approach to take. They could switch to a different shader I guess, but they're aiming for something that looks like high quality pixel art.
As is they're finally adding honest to goodness backgrounds to the battle screens for the first time ever, and uneven terrain on the main map, so…. they've finally caught up to where Dragon Quest 8 was on the PS2 ten years ago.
NEW 3ds could probably handle it a bit better and do a bit more, but they need to keep it compatible with the old. Next handheld, whenever that is, and next pokemon game, in 3 or 4 years, will probably use the exact same models but with a better resolution output and it may be less pixeley then.

Wait… why skill swap? The ability keeps you safe from poison, burn and paralysis (and freeze I guess) while still allowing you to use rest. Unless you meant wanting to give it to an ally in doubles?
Also, I agree on more eeveelutions not being a bad thing, seeing how the concept of Eevee lends itself to it... but leave klefki out of this >=(
