Meanwhile I finally finished to read Jojo. The last parts took me a long time to read, because in the middle of part 6 I ran out of stamina.

This must be the work of an enemy Stand!
Got through the Hang Man and Emperor parts of the Anime. This was the first part I really liked of the series, with the stuff before kind of being okay at best, and slightly disappointing at worst. Hol Horse is just an all around fun character, and I have a soft spot for characters who are away from the norm, who will run when odds are against him and not mind being less than number 1. The way that both sides use their strategies and how Polareff and Kakyoin figure out how to win was quite cool. One thing I still don't understand is Hol Horses stand ability. I get that the gun is his stand rather and the bullets can move on it's own. Is that the extent of it, or is there more? For some reason, the way he talks makes it sound as if there is more.
One thing I have confirmed is how Jotaro is my least favorite of the MC's of the parts. He's a complete asshole and lacks any qualities of character besides being calm and calculated almost all the time. This part holds out only because of the other characters around. Joseph is still awesome, as well as Avdol, Polnareff, and Kakyoin. They have their moments of humor and seriousness, and have their charm. My favorite being with the cherry stuff with Kakyoin in that one episode. Jotaro on the other hand, just lacks anything for me to care. I only slightly cared about him when in part 4 you find out he became a Marine Biologist, which made me like him a little bit.
Nobody ever said that Jotaro Kujo was a nice guy.
I liked Ebony Devil and Yellow Temperance but yeah, Emperor and Hanged Man is the first awesome battle in Stardust Crusaders. IMO it doesn't get consistently great until after High Priestess but The Lovers and Death 13 are true gems and The Empress was also fun.
Nobody ever said that Jotaro Kujo was a nice guy.
This is the one time a your mom joke would work. I do wonder why he became such a dick in the first place. Sounds like he was a nice guy up to a point, then he started calling his mom names and all that stuff. Also have to wonder why the mom is okay with Jotaro calling her those names and still believing he's a good person.

Two big reasons.
1.That's just how Holly is; she's incapable of getting mad at anyone.
2. For all that ''edgy, hard-boiled, tough guy'' act, Jotaro's really a momma's boy
Finally caught up as well. And, man, Jotaro is such a pompous dick. I didn't even remember him tricking Dio into thinking that he couldn't move during "The World" with a pair of magnets, that is so calculated - but I also don't remember Dio getting the joestar blood powerup, so I'm really pumped for the next episode (and slightly confused why Dio looks so different in preview). And Iggy's death gave me emotional scars once again, I really liked the little guy.
Also, I remember kind of rushing through Part 3 because the sudden change from Hamon to Stands threw me off a little back then. Though I consider Part 4 to be the best one yet, probably because I, as a reader, had gotten used to stands on top of the author really stepping up his game in regards to the overall plot, as well as the art. So I might have to re-read part 3 at some point :)
This is where you can tell the difference between the new JJBA fans and the olds ones.
Jotaro is a good kid. You have to remember Jotaro didn't start acting like that until he got his stand.

Seems like he started acting like that before he got his stand. The punks at school talked about him never losing a fight, so it was before his stand. He's not the worst person ever, but overall he lacks presence compared to a number of the other Jostar family members in other parts. The fact that he comes after Joseph's part doesn't help his case either, as Joseph is the most memorable and my favorite Jostar. If I had to rank them, it would be from favorite to least favorite:
Joseph
Jolyne
Josuke (part 4)
Johnny
Jonathon
Giorno
Josuke (part 8)
Jotaro
Jotaro lower that Giorno? Nah that's crazy talk.

Joseph Joey JoJo

Jolyne Joey JoJo

Jotaro Joey JoJo
Jonathan Joey JoJo

It is subject to change, going through the anime again. I'm a person that has to read a series a number of times to remember everything clearly, so it will most likely change (well, number 1 will stay the same, cause that's no competition there). Unfortunately, going to be a while before I go through the series again. Reading all 8 parts at once takes a while. I put Giorno above Jotaro because I liked his design more, and I remember him having more of an emotional range. I put the part 8 Josuke higher for now only because of the intrigue behind him at the moment. Once we learn about him, could go up or down. Most likely down as the intrigue is the only thing putting him up at the moment.
I usually dislike characters like Jotaro and I actually hated him first time I tried to read SC. Yeah, coming after Joseph who is as unorthodox as they come, someone as composed and "cool" as Jotaro looks bland at best. I don't know how it worked back in the time SC was being published, but nowadays we are so full of characters who try too hard to be badasses that they end up annoying me.
Over time I learned to like him, though. I admit SC would probably be unbearable if he was too much on focus, but since he got his goofy friends with him, the fact he completely strays from that works inside SC. Also, his "too cool for his own good" moments are always on mark, mainly against hte D'arby brothers, so what usually make characters like that boring, in Jotaro's case is charming I guess.
But yeah, he got nothing on Joseph, Josuke and Jolyne… the Holy JoJo Trinity.
Question is, does Jo2uke even have a personality?
Bit naive and goofy, definitely one of the more oddball Jojos we've seen (preferring to sleep sandwiched between mattresses for example).
Giorno is so lame that Bruno ended up being the de facto protag.
Diavolo is so lame that the only really memorable thing about him is his memetic Stand.
Worst JoJo, worst villain.

Giorno isn't really a bad character, he's just not as good as he could be. He's more someone who holds the group together, instead of a leader, and I think that's actually an interesting choice for a protagonist. He brings out the best in others.
Diavolo is the worst main Jojo villain, but that's only because every main Jojo villain is really great. Fundamentally I don't see why people would rank him as much lower than, say. Kars.
Anyway,
6. Diavolo
5. Kira
4. Pucci
3. Kars
2. Dio
1. Valentine
Though I'd put Pucci and Kira above Kars if I was feeling more objective.
7. Jonathan
6. Giorno
5. Jotaro
4. Josuke
3. Johnny
2. Jolyne
1. Joseph

"I, Jotaro Kujo am called a deliquent.
I've beaten the crap out of my enemies so much, that some are still on the hospital.
I've thought those assholes who call themselves teachers such lessons that they never showed up at school again.
If some restaurant serves me shitty food, I'll leave without paying and laugh at their faces"

It was in the previous thread actually.
That's right. 2 weeks ago.

Trust me i'm a lawyer I just checked.

wasn't that a ranking of the parts rather than the bestest joey jojo?
Part 5 is very popular in Japan, so I suspect that most of the Giorno/Part 5 hate comes from the shit translation. Haven't read it yet, but that's what it sounds like.
Thought i'd swing by to share a picture of my Jonathan Joestar SAS. Really excited for the conclusion of Part III anime on Friday!! Hoping Part IV gets the green light soon!! Will be lost without it….....I've only read Parts 1-4, but the art and character attitudes started changing too much for my liking towards the end of Part IV. I prefer the musclebound, "He-man-esque" characters who fought with more brawn than they did brain! I might pick up Part V eventually when JJ CAT finish releasing it............
Well if we're listing our favorite Jojo Protags/villains might as well throw my hat into the ring
1. Kira
2. Funny Valentine
3. Pucci
4. DIO (Stardust Crusaders)
5. Diavolo
6. Kars
7. Dio Brando (Phantom Blood)
1. Josuke
2. Jonny/Jolyne
3. Jotaro (Including his role in other parts where I liked him far better)
4. Jo2suke
5. Joseph
6. Giorno
7. Johnathan

There are some legitimate complaints about Part 5 (MC often feeling sidelined, and varying quality of supporting characters; some REALLY good while others left something to be desired) but it's not as bad as some make it out to be.
The best of Giorno
Eh that's not nice. It's probably one of the most intelligent things Giorno said.
The plan was sound, but none of them had the power to remote control a hundred cars.
I watched the chapter, and the glorious return of the DIO Missile.
Part 5 is good in the sense that everyone else is pretty cool, but Giorno on his own is soooo incredibly disappointing given his lineage
There are fights where Giorno doesn't say a word and is more background dressing.
@Cyan:

I gotta say, that is my biggest complaint I have against his character. Though I guess it makes sense when you consider his personality…..

Of which I'd argue that that is the exact reason why he is, or why you may consider him to be. The general overview is that Giorno is the literal fusion of the Joestar bloodline and their arch nemesis DIO; however I'd say it's more specific than that. Giorno is the cross between Johnathan Joestar and Dio Brando of Phantom Blood; not the psychopathic, time stopping, WRRRYYYYing, roadrolling, manchild DIO of Stardust Crusaders. He has the heart and sense of justice as Johnathan with the coldness, calculating, ambitious nature of Dio. Which to some, at a first glance can come off as bland, similar to Jotaro's "tough guy" attitude in Part 3. But while Jotaro got multiple Parts to showcase more of who he was, Giorno only gets one.
To use this support my point above; because of his personality it makes sense that he'd be in the background a lot. He's the kind of person who cares deeply but stay behind and analyze before taking action; the person who won't speak unless they know exactly what they're going to say. Which sadly often leads to him being overlooked.
The times when (at least for me) Giorno really comes through is when someone pushes him over the edge. He can't stay on the sidelines forever, and when something comes around that either forces him too or gets him angry enough, all the kindness and restraint of Johnathan goes out the window. Sadly there are only a few of them in Part 5, but they are well worth it.
Reasons why Giorno doesn't suck:

About those last two; yeah I honestly think that GER was an asspull of a stand, but the sequence that lead up to it was awesome

Finished the Death 13 part, the one I found really great after the Hanged Man fight. It was from this battle that Kakyoin became my favorite new character from part 3. Going from freaking out, to being the one in control, to Polnareff being confused about the night before. The way he punished the stand user was great as well.
Also love whenever Joseph goes "oh no" or some variation of yelling out a two word phrase.
@Purple:

It was both. We just didn't made one with villains.

"OH-MY-GOD!!" hahaha….....cracks my up every time I hear it!! 2 DAYS UNTIL THE CONCLUSION!! I might have to go back and re-watch again from Phantom Blood now.

Watching the Iggy introduction part, one thing came to mind when he showed his stand. We found Croco boys pet, but unfortunately he found himself in a different manga.
So out of curiosity, they gonna animate Part 4 when SC is finished? I know it's not the most popular Jojo series but still I'd watch it.

God I hope so; if they do then my hype thrusters are gonna send me through the freaking roof!
But for now I anxiously await to see it's "foreshadowing" at the end of Part 3.

I'm feeling pretty sure they will. We've already seen some foreshadowing of it with the Bow and Arrow in Dio's room and the Arrow shadow at the start of the Walk Like an Egyptian ending.
Diamond is Unbreakable is my favorite. I'm looking forward to the anime.
I am really looking forward for bizarre adventures in Duwang Morioh.
My body is always ready for the beautiful Duwang
I really hope someone'll duwang the whole Part 4 anime. It would be such a beautiful subduwang.
16 characters of EXPAND DUWANG
Some dub ideas for the 2012 anime:
Jonathan - Johnny Yong Bosch (hinted at?)
Dio - Patrick Seitz (from the Stardust Crusaders anime)
Speedwagon - Tony Oliver
Straizo - Robert McCollum
Joseph - Ben Diskin (confirmed)
Stroheim - Bryan Massey (if he can put on a ridiculous German accent)
Wamuu - Christopher Sabat
Kars - Kirk Thornton
Mariah and Avdol have been confirmed for Eyes of Heaven. The game's website announced a now PV on saturday and a new demo is coming soon.
