Okay I didnt wanted it but lately I gotten some good sleep and Im rested sooo…

Last week we seen that Bastille gotten taken out rather easily by Sabo, Maynard was beaten by Bartolomeo some time ago and he wasnt shown doing anything.
During Punk Hazard Law rather quickly beaten Smoker.

Vergo was pirate but at same time he probably gotten best show-off out of all Vice Admirals we have seen in action in OP.
So I still think he was special in more ways than most of people think. Devil Fruit being part of his power is what I mean.
And yea Shadowgreed(and few others) - flashback is comming closer and closer. I hope your butthurt if I will be right will hunt you guys for years to come

Oda is master in changing our views on people after we get more chapters. Best example being Bartolomeo- its enough to just re-read his introduction chapter after reading especially yesterdays chapter- its like day and night. At first we had feeling he is not as bad as he was portrayed to be but now we see he is one of more fun side characters that we seen in manga.

That page with Robin, Rebbeca and Barto flying will be awesome to read in volume relase.
So many good things about this chapter that its hard to describe.

Also I wonder how Oda will deal with flashback for Law and Doflamingo.. Will we get one big beastly flashback for both of them or we will get 2 flashbacks or it will be suprise and we will not get flashback for Doflamingo at all- just some explanations on his life etc as that would not make us sympathize with him in any way and I think it would be kind of good. But probably will not happen. Those 2 people seem to have similar past but they came out of it as different people- as Law said he doesnt want to end up as Doflamingo.
I cannot wait to get more chapters and buy volume that will contain those. It will be fantastic read. As I doubted some of Odas decision, now I see that all payes up in the end.
Colloseum Gladiators are going to fight Doflamingo family top members and that also should be sweet to see.
Dellinger vs Sai would be fun with Sai getting esily mocked by Dellinger who is Bully by the nature so to say.. We didnt seen person that is easier to provoke than Sai yet and maybe he will be material to show off some of Dellinger abilities. I hope that all of Colloseum named fighters will get something good to do.

Who could have imagined that bastards like Abdullah and Jet - when they taken out Tank Lepanto with backstabbing I thought of them as utter assholes- will end up as saviors of Law and Luffy.
Some more of those suprising things will happen soon enough and will make re-reading of this arc even more fun than it already is.

I guess string clones can't use CoO. There are about 20 chapters of fights being set up Sooo many possiblilities. Oda is really stepping Shit up now after 4-5 chapters every chapter after should be badass until the end of the arc. Franky has been suplexed three times and still has yet to counter it…probably my only complaint

Don't get me started on the string clones. Such a broken concept. I'd understand if Kizaru was shown using clones, since his ability would allow him to create holograms, so to speak. But strings that perfectly mimic appearance, movements, speech and bodily reactions? That's a little too much.

Also Law flashback seems to already be emotionally heavy- kids during Punk Hazard were drugged and when Law gotten to know that he said that Cesar reminds him of some person- I wonder if he meant Vergo or Doflamingo? Like when Vergo used words about Law not being able to hide anything from adults, I thought he uncovered some young Law scheme or doings against Vergo or Mingo.

Beside all that I like that Doflamingo still respects Law in many ways and had such big expectations on him, its like he really just couldnt kill him off as easy as he would kill some some of strawhats for example because of that similarities he thinks Law and he shares. As ruthless bastard as Doflamingo is he seems to really care deeply for his own people and only for them in the world. It must have been hard for him to say goodbye to Vergo if he is really as thoughtfull as he seems. Sure he went downside and rotten in many ways but he is already sympathetic in very special way for One Piece. I have very high hopes for Crocodile being brought back to story, getting flashback and ending up as being equally interesting villain as for now Crocodile is further behind Doflamingo in my ranking of OP bad guys. He isnt as developed in subtle way as Doflamingo atm but he sure will be back soon enough.

So I think that Doflamingo wasnt terrified by thought of Kaido killing him as Mingo doesnt seem to be somebody afraid of death, for me Kaido is somebody that kills entire crews of his enemies.
Like he did with Moria long time ago and Moria ended up mentally broken to pieces by it. Doflamingos crew are really his nakamas and its first crew that seems to care so much for their captain beside strawhats.
Very cool to read, nice idea from Oda to picture group of bad guys as people with such strong bonds.

As for Dof continuing to give Law and Luffy chances? This is the way I see it.
Doflamingo seemingly raised Law as his little brother, he even says that the Dof gang are his real family.
Dof mentions many times that he was raising Law for his heart seat. And considering how Dof actually cares about his subordinates, it's gotta hurt him a little that Law is betraying him.
I believe Dof is continuing to hold out hoping that Law will come to his senses.

Think of it as "cloning": he practically making clone of himself by using thread, creating a puppet, empty shell. And then there is invisible connection between puppet, which is product of his DF, and Dofla himself as a owner of that fruit. And through this connection he controls his clone. This is the only (more or less) reasonable explanation i can think of.

At least one chapter for the fight against every Dofla Family member, likely more extensive fights for the three executives, the Doflamingo-Luffy fight in all its glory, the Dofla/Law flashbacks, maybe a bit in-depths coverage of the Fujitora/Sabo/Burgess shenanigans, who knows how many super-interesting chapters of running around and beating faceless mooks inbetween, plus the conclusion and the wrapping-up of the various side plots?
Well, 20 chapters is probably the most conservative guess, it will likely be a lot longer.

No, we had more then enough of that before. An overpowered protagonists is boring. And I like these "Hey, did you really expected this to be so easy, just because you are facing the first half-decent opponent post-TS and not a yonkou yet" scenes.

Fights have been lacking the last few arcs since they shouldn't have to many problems right after long training. This arc should be the first where characters struggle a lot, then later arcs are ones where characters have to really go out. For this arc, when considering the breaks that Oda goes on, I would say we have another year or so of this arc. As far as the string clone goes, I feel as long as that is the only clone, I will be fine with it. Having a double would be interesting for Luffy and Law to go against. I also see a few ways this could go down.

Everybody wants to fight Doflamingo, so he sends his clone out to make the rest chase after him. Law and Luffy figure it's the fake and go after the real one.
The clone makes another smaller cage for a death match type battle for Law and Luffy. They have to be more careful so they don't touch the cage. While a waste of the clone idea, it could be interesting
Since Law and Luffy will seemingly be fighting together, having a clone evens things out a little. Despite the clone being weaker, being made of string it can put itself back together. Doflamingo could probably use the clone in interesting ways as well.

There are other things that could or actually will happen, but those are the ones I came up with. As for the complaints of the clone stopping Luffy's attack, Luffy was in the water. I understand some peoples concern for the idea, but lets wait and see how it's used. Same goes for characters that people are hoping will actually do something.

Single best panel in this chapter goes to Barto, Becca and Robin flying. Dat details. There's definitely the adventure feel.

Looks like we might get to see Jinbe and Vivi interact soon. Pretty good chapter; don't like hoe Doflamingo is underestimating Luffy and it will definitely bite him in the ass later. Something worries me though; how freakin sharp are DD's strings!? Let us not forget that Kelly Funk's body broke a haki-infused axe; yet, DD's strings cut right through him without the use of haki. On top of that, it was a string clone, which is sure to be weaker than the actual DD, so this makes me wonder how Luffy is going to fight.

I doubled check to make sure and that's true. However Doflamingo with armament Haki shrugged off his Jet Gatling gun like nothing. Obviously it isn't his most powerful attack, but it does give a small glimpse of Doflamingos power. With how calm he is and how he's been built up, it's definitely going to be quite a fight.

Though I know there is Dressrosa thread, I see a lot of people predicting when the arc will end on this one. Well, people's predictions on a lot of things are always so behind, since they always expect One Piece to move at a fast pace.

We are gonna get another 40 chapters i think if we don't get faster pacing. We still don't have a clue about CP-0, and that was introduced in the beginning, I am sure they will appear in this arc, I mean why wouldn't they? Also, SANJI! We still have no idea what's happening with Big Mam ship that came.
Plus the Law and Corazon flashbacks,
the fight between pica/zoro,
law&luffy/doffy,
pink/franky,
sabo/fujitora,
The Colosseum crew/rest of Doffy's crew,
koala and rest of the revolutionaries,
the fact that diamante still hasn't fought properly,
usopp&nami,
robin&viola&rebecca,
Sabo's flashback (This one is a maybe),
and Tontatta's kingdom flashback.

PLUS, KAIDO! The frick. We have no idea if he is gonna interfere in this arc or not. I mean seriously, it's crazy. Additionally, we might get a big plot twist with those levels to get to doffy. I don't see this arc ending until March of 2015. 795+ is my guess. Look how long it took for Sabo in ch. 731 to reveal his strength and face? 15 chapters?! Just for that. However, I love the hype that is building up and it would be nice to end the arc in a more Punk Hazard way, where Luffy beats Doffy, but Kaido gets pissed and voila, new arc.
I feel bad for the manga only watchers, they have to wait until September just for Sabo's appearance.

Well yea I know though it was very early in New World so fights probably will get longer further SH will go into new world.
For example Zoro is fighting now and he started fighting long time before Luffy will fight Doflamingo so I wonder what Oda will do to keep him out of helping Luffy and others after defeating Pica.
Probably this fight will be longest for Zoro since time skip, would be very cool if we have seen more of them.

For quite a long time I was not big fan of messed / cut fights that we are getting since Marineford but I am getting used to them during this arc as Oda is getting better at showing glimpses of them and crucial moments.

I cannot wait for Sanji comeback, Oda went over the line already with over 20 chapters without my favourite strawhat.. it has been

The connection is practically the only thing that makes sense.

I do get why people seem uncomfortable with Doppelmingo (credits to who first coined it). It does look "off" by OPverse logic, sense, and standards. Or simply by the "clone logic" in mangaverse. But the way I see it, we can take this scenario as something new or "advanced". Everything about the string clone can be attributed to DD's mastery of his DF, and a mix of CoO. One reality that we should remember is that no one knowsthe extent of any character's power. Even Luffy's. Bottomline is, as long as you can still sleep at night with it, it's not a problemm

The problem: Oda has not shown ANYTHING to build any sort of confidence that he will deal with Fujitora in interesting or clever manner. Especially since his insane rantings about goverment not being gods, which makes no sense in context of the arc, and his action.

For some reason, you think pay-off is going to be satysfying. No proof of that yet. Hell, we don't even have anything suggesting that. In fact, every precedence thus far points towards something completly opposite.

So you will excuse me for being pessimistic.

Hi, my first post here.

I thought Doufla underestimated Luffy in the well. I am reading the chinese translation, which I thought has always been of a high quality. From what I understand from it, Diamante and Trebol were asking Doufla the whereabouts of THE string clone on page 17. This seems to me that the clone is a known item, and there is probably not a lot it lying around? And also, Doufla's reply is that he sent it as a present, but it looks like it's rejected. And earlier, the clone dealt with the Funk brothers on the into the well and claimed that he's there to save them. I think it's true. Doufla wanted to save Law from the Funk brothers and sent the clone to do it. I would assume he do it for sentimental reasons, but I shall wait for Oda to review in due time.

Yeah, ok, maybe Dofla can change color of his strings, that would be nothing to rage about. Maybe he can transfer his voice via some string too. That's fine as well.

But then we get into the shady area, where the clone sweats and changes facial expressions like a boss. And it looked like Dofla can see what is going on, what with him blocking Luffy's punch. Maybe it just mimicks Dofla's movements, but how can he see? It's not something I can just dismiss, like Nami's clones, which were just optical illusion.

I won't lose any sleep over fiction, but I'll damn well discuss about it in a dedicated forum.

Is it completely explained ? No . Are Doflamingo devil fruit powers completely explained ? NO . Then what is the big fucking deal here ? Oda always explains villains powers when they are in actual combat with Luffy so he will get to it when he will get to it . Why people think it's suddenly going to be any different than the past fruit exploration is completely beyond me .

Did you started bitching when Robin powers were not explained and she had seem to have some invincible powers ? Did you started bitching when Oda didn't reveals Doflamingo fruit name and showed his strings ? Did you started bitching when Oda didn't provide an explanation for how Luffy was defeated by CC in their first battle ? Is it really that hard to wait ?

If Oda doesn't explain it by the end of the arc then bitch about it . Don't see why people are making a big deal out of this .

well the ability to use dofla's fruit is the last problem of the string clones,since they are made of strings too,so they just shoot the same of the strings they are made of..and they are probably moved by dofla with those invisibile string of him,so he can theoretically supply them with an infinite quantity of string to use

That's the thing. Dofla sets himself apart by being able to control his clone, which ties with his puppeteer theme. Aside from the sweating, which is probably a red herring (though a terrible one at that), I don't really see anything wrong with a manipulable human-like clone entirely made of strings. I get why some people are annoyed at the idea, though. But to say that it's bullshit as far as DF powers go? Meh.

The real DD is just the host for the strings…what if his clones are like Cell creating those little babies or w/e before gohan beats em up... Is it possible that doflamingo might actually not know what his clones r doing..theyre just a replica of him so he knows they're gonna do what he does . they're part of him..so somewhat free will.. They can use the powers too

Thankfully, were Oda going to go in that direction I think he would have used it to negate Kyros decapitating Doffy rather using the whole clone thing.
