It's going to be Sabo Vs Bastille + Fujitora anyway. I don't really think Maynard has a relative enough Haki if even that is the case he will get cocky again and will rush at Sabo who will end it with a OPKO. Still Fujitora and an experienced vice admiral is too much. But on the other hand Law did managed to hold Doffy and Fuji back a bit… Considering Luffy has edge on him and Sabo is a seniour to Luffy... Let's not forget Koala and Fishman. Bartholomew could give him an hand too if he sees what kind of position he is in.
Lots of reasons to chill out

Hack isn't a toy anymore, but Koala and Sabo keep forgetting him. WTF is he doing with Usopp team ?

He'll probably end up helping out Robin/Usopp/Viola with whatever plan they come up with. Actually…I think they're going to go and rescue the dwarves/dwarf princess after Franky destroys the factory?

Lots of reasons to chill outAlso Fujitora cant go as crazy as he was going on Green Bit because there are civilians all around. Thats why he is asking Sabo to move out of the way and not forcing himself through.
Sabo just tries to block them and Fujitora would need to wreck big area to go through him. Also fire logia being used in city would not go well for Fujitoras intentions of protecting civilians from harm. -

Well in the end he did let them alone. In my opinion Fujitora would not be able to win against Zoro and Luffy, nor capture them in 2 vs 1.
You have a point of course though Sabo is fire logia so he presents wider danger to people in surrounding area than swordsman or rubber man. Fire spreads everywhere and Sabo is around Luffy, probably very slightly stronger. In short I stick to thinking that Fujitora asks Sabo to move away because of threat he poses to city and civilans if engaged in full blown fight.

I guess it's the best explanation.

huh I Forgot Koala also went off on her own. For a minute there I was typing "but Koala was with Hack in the Usopp group" .. but stopped typing when I remembered she sneaked off to investigate the ships in the underground harbor.

koala has some other business just like sabo :D sabo is protecting his brother

That's the readers logic, most of them believe that Fujitora is all about meteors when in reality meteors won't do anything to a well skill fighter

Truth, but still, a meteor won't hit a well skill fighter, he can use it as a distraction and that's it. I fell for it didn't I?

Admiral used to fight yonkou, now sabo holds Admiral + Vice Admiral together… how weak admirals have become...

Now with the coliseum fighters advancement towards dofla pirates, I really want to see a Gladius vs Ideo fight for some reason…
^ and to Darth's post above me: (couldn't resist)
you know, because he wants to save the civilians so that Doflamingo would "protect" them to prove his point.
-
on that cover page,i like Ideo's color scheme better than that of the anime (although in mine opinion he would look better in dark blue jacket instead of a dark brown/green one)

I'm on the "Fujitora is senile" train.

The countdown to the family of Don, about 20 chapter will end Don
Sabo VS Fuji
I think there is no winner battle incomplete :ninja:
The next chapter does not appear in it Sabo Franky and Law

But I need my cyborg dose, bro.

Gladius seems immune to explosions, so…
-
Fujitora holds back since he knows a fight between him and Sabo will only hurt the population of DressRosa.
-
The arc should advance faster, we don't get really forward with the story.
we got a lot of charactres and a lot of lines open. -
Anybody who believes the collosseum fighters who've already shown their stuff will take down Dofla's family is delusional. I place all my bets on Dolfa family winning and showing off their stuff. There is still Buffalo and Jola that can come to assist them or could be out of frame. Were gonna need the Strawhats who are fighting Big Mom I think.
You mean Cavendish, Chinjao, Ideo, Sai, Boo, Elizabello, Sulieman cannot handle Baby5, Vise, Gladius, Lao G, Dellinger etc? I wonder who is delusional here.
Hmm, honestly? As much as I love the Colosseum gang (and I really love them), I think them being the ones to defeat the Dofla family officers is not the best scenario right now, and yet I could totally see them being the ultimate glorified punching bags in order to hype up a bit these villains. They honestly need it.
I think Chinjao and Cavendish are on a class of their own, alongside Barto. We've seen that guys like Ideo, Blue or Sai are among the strongest Colosseum fighters, and yet, for example, Ideo and Sai got taken out with a single unnamed hit by Luffy and Chinjao. I know they were taken off-guard, but the fact still remains, just like Hajrudin was totally OHKOed by Luffy in a blink of an eye. Elizabello is strong but kind of a one trick guy, Boo is many times weaker than Sai and nothing Suleiman did points towards him being an exception to the others. Orlumbus seems decently strong, but, again, nothing exceeding the rest of the fighters.
I know it's possibly not comparable, but Luffy did Jet Stamp Gladius to almost no effect at all, and Señor Pink seems to be perfectly fine fighting a certified powerhouse like Franky on his own (though the cyborg's massive weapon arsenal I guess puts him ahead of diaper hardboiled guy), so I don't think guys like Dellinger, Machvise or Lao G will get defeated by guys that Luffy one-shoted already, or guys that aren't particularly made a huge deal of, unlike Chinjao, Cavendish or Barto, who were complimented and hyped and proven superior to others on multiple occasions.
I can see guys that are definitely strong and infamous on their own, like the aforementioned Sai, Ideo or Blue being used to step up the non-Elite officers threat level, while the trully strong ones, like Chinjao, being used to show us how strong Trébol or Diamante REALLY are (Pica being this arc's Zoro's rival means Elite Officers should be plenty strong, as Vergo was).
Cavendish and Barto, though, seems to be special cases. Cavendish has his psychopathic Mr. Hide worth 2 Cavendishes, and Barto is still unscathed. So, these two, I don't know how Oda intends to handle.
-
In the end I just hope that the SH's get their bounties raised. lol

I pretty much agree with all of this. I love the colosseum fighters too, but Gats said that when the four Diamante squad Doflamingo fighters (I think it was Dellinger, Mach Vise, Senor, and Lao G) are in the ring together theyre unstoppable. We havent seen Dellinger or Lao G really go all out yet, either.
Chinjao, Cavendish, and Barto though are definitely really strong. Barto is easily the single best thing to come out of this arc, too.
-
I'm so excited for Dellinger. To me, he's one of the more interesting Doffy Family members.
Oh, also, I think we should be factoring in Bellamy somewhere. He's gotta do something eventually, I just can't really predict what or when it will happen.
-
So far, Dellinger doesn't seem to have a Devil Fruit, does he? Puts him in a rare category among Doflamingo's elite.
-
Neither does Lao G.

I can see Bellamy getting payback on Dellinger. I know he idolizes Doffy and all, but even now he must realize he's been betrayed. Bellamy coming back and the way he's changed is one of my favorite parts of this arc, I really want him to become his own man now, and get a satisfying resolution to the stuff he's been going through recently

But Bellamy does realize he was betrayed, and yet he's still sticking to Doula Mongo.
If he suddenly came back wanting to help Luffy defeat Doula Mongo, it would feel sloppy. Oda can't just have this development happen offscreen.
-

Yeah, I know. What I meant was, I wanted him to come back and get that development you mentioned on screen, after being antagonistic at first due to his attachment to Doffy.
Also hey where'd the Doula Mongo thing come from? Is it like those Jaya chapters that were translated from Chinese, where Doffy became Tanjiahdo Loluflamingo and Kuma became Bisoromi Bear?
Bisoromi Bear is….the greatest name for a character I have ever read.
-
Ya know, his actions right now don't really show his desire to protect civilians… just sayin.
he's action will lead him to the dark side just like akainu

Hey guys, Ucy's left horn is back !

I think that's the sign of Jesus Burgess second coming
-

Meh. If it was, it should have been better presented then what we got. His argument for not going after Doflamingo is stupid. And by stupid, I mean nonsensical.
I would risk the statement it's Bleach or Naruto level of nonsensical.
Just… leave it. I really hope it's going to be explained properly before the arcs ends.

You know… that does makes you wonder.
There is too many people here. How will Oda deal with all of this?
I have this terrible feeling that we may see very little pay-off to some of characters. Dressrosa has been annoying like that...
Also, fifty chapters, and the only KO that sticks is Sugar. That's really slow, I just realised. At fifty chapters in Alabasta, Luffy was fighting Crocodile, and every noteworthy member of Baroque Works was already defeated.
At fifty chapters of Enies Lobby, every member of CP9 except Lucci was already beaten and the fight with Lucci was in it's last stages.
Every Arc since Enies Lobby to the current one was done in it's entirety in 50 chapters or less.
Even in Skypiea, the longest arc of them all, at fifty chapters everyone but Enel was done. Damn.
-
I wouldn't say it's nonsensical what Fujitora does but it was highly contradictive to how he valued even one citizen's life. Disregarding that he is right that this 'just a wrong in the many' approach to Shichibukais is clearly a problem for the nations. But yes, we have a lot of time for Fujitora to express himself more.
Actually not going fast is OK for me hoping Oda will have life in him to continue his work. But the crucial party will speak when the fights are began. Let's how much detail we will get one individual characters. To be honest I'm kind of happy to the general off-shadowing things to fights. Because routine clashes aren't what I would like to see at this point of the story. So for example Franky being on the ground does not concern me. Because it implies the situation was just too much for him and there was nothing to see there. I wouldn't care about Akainu or Shanks vs Franky either.
There is always the theory this arc won't end with classical hero vs villian clash and will extend towards an another. Some big interruption will occur etcetera… But since matchups like Sabo vs Marines, Zoro vs Pica, Franky vs Swimmer are set it has become unrelated to this point of the story even that happens at the very end.
-
I disagree on the pacing. The problem I have with this arc is this: Overall pace is slow, but individual events are rushed, more often then not.
At this point, I really would love to have another twenty chapters or so, to have events properly presented. It would not slow Overall pace much more, but individual events would benefit from it, in my opinion.
By nonsensical I mean his comments to Maynard… which still doesn't make sense to me. Citizens are angry and WG is not a God, you will do as I command... the hell? Okay, even if we take it at face value... how in the bloody hell you reach conclusion that you should go after Straw Hats, supporting Doflamingo?
-
The way I see it, 700-744 was more about getting the Mera Mera.
The fight against the Donquixote family really started when Sugar fainted.Different islands, different arcs:ninja:

But the same story.
It's like arguing that Bleach is paced well, because it's Bleach and it's always been slow.

For me it's like Water 7/Enyes Lobby (more than 100 chapters). Anyway I don't read Bleach but I get your point, I think.
