I did that Franky fueled his cola and Usopp found the perfect place to snipe, and I also destroyed the gears to slow Lucci down, and Zoro & Sanji fought their opponents and still it doesn't work.

It took me 50 minutes to beat the Thriller Bark map :P

Thanks a ton, Red. Finally got 100% on Thriller Bark, no reason to ever touch that hellhole agai–
"Clear Thriller Bark with Zoro to get the Shusui coin"
OHHHH NOOOOOOO

I can´t get triple S in the Fist of Love chapter.
How many ! I have to get to obtain a S ranking ?
How many kills I have to get to obtain a S ranking ?Edit: Nevermind, I managed to achieve S ranking in the chapter.

Sanji pre-timeskip is so great to fight as. Then after 2 years he's alright.

Still mad that no Bartolomeo

Man, most of the content and trophies can be earned pretty quickly compared to PW2 but the last stretch is pretty brutal. I've unlocked all characters, 100% the story mode, got the Dream Log to open up to its fullest… But I still need to do countless bounties to get all the coins, hope for a random drop of the coins I need to break someone's level cap and get about 14 more characters to level 5 on their skill poster.
Still, it's a great game. I've had MGSV for about 11 days now and I've only played it once thanks to PW3.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Did anyone order the Doflamingo Edition from Amazon UK. Are you supposed to get the steelbook and DLC codes with it?
No, I'm pretty sure you don't. I don't think you got the steelbook with the Doflamingo Edition regardless of where you got it from, but Amazon UK didn't have the steelbook at all and didn't give out the codes with pre-orders. I contacted Bandai Namco EU before ordering and they said there was nowhere in the UK that is selling the steelbooks (and thus, it would seem, the pre-order DLC codes). The only place I found at the time that did was an online shop in France that was out of stock. They really buggered up the release of this game internationally. I got a steelbook MGSV with DLC codes, a far more high profile and in-demand game, when I pre-ordered about 5 days before its release.
You have to take control of the mansion 10 times, and for Brook find all the members before facing Perona. I haven't reached marineford 2 yet, I'm stuck in enies lobby, I can't get the strategies right.
The way to do it is get to Franky as per usual, then head east to fight Jabura first. After defeating him, continue east and there's a big machine that's flashing slowly, indicating it can be destroyed. Take it out. Then move anti-clockwise around the various rooms and capture them all, ending up in the Kaku room. The upshot of it is that you'll lower a door to slow down Lucci, Sogeking will get into position to snipe Robin's captors and Franky… I think he gets more cola or something, I can't remember.
even though I beat Garp less than a minute after he spawns I never get the treasure event for "beating him within the time limit"
This is a common mistake. It doesn't mean within a certain amount of time after he appears, it means from the start of the level. Head up there straight away. You need to capture the room with Coby in, then move up to where Garp appears and capture that room. The only thing that can go wrong is your allies getting their asses kicked as you abandon them to the Pacifista in the south.

Still mad that no Bartolomeo
That would be so fun.. .smashing people with barriers, dialogue with Straw Hats, etc.
-
Only one left thing to do in PW3 before I Plat it… then I will FINALLY play MGSV.... because priorities....
Is there a quick way to level all crew to Max? What level gives the most "!"s? I usually get around 3k on the final island, but crew is random. So enter and exit until someone I need to level up. The "A Written Challenge to the Paramount War" would be great... but unfortunately all I can level up there are playable aside from Coby.
Any suggestions?
-
^I got over 9000 !s on the dlc colosseum island, if you dont have the dlc I would suggest the last island in dreamlog
-
Where are the DLC islands btw? I never actually looked.
-
At the sides of the first island in dream log!
-
Do I have to beat the Davy Back Fight thing first? The cheap as hell thing where Buggy dies all the time because he decides to run off on his own and get surrounded like an idiot?
–
I'm just an idiot. I downloaded the Day 1 stuff and the extra stuff if you do the season pass. Had to go into DLC Pack 1 to download those contents. Yeeeeeaaaa....
-
So is the season pass out in America then? So far in the UK we have "DLC Pack 1" and "Story Pack" but no season pass available to buy.
-
Story pack is europes equilvalent to season pass.
-
Oh right. That's confusing. They call it the Story Pack in the title and in the description say "season pass", that made me feel like it was talking about a separate thing. Well thanks for pointing that out to me.
-
^I got over 9000 !s on the dlc colosseum island, if you dont have the dlc I would suggest the last island in dreamlog
Just tried that island. It seems there is a cap of "9999." This level will help with Bellamy, Vergo, Monet, and Burgess…. but man, the rest I have left will be a pain. For islands with random partners, it really should let you choose. I get the set ones for scenario pieces... but ones like that last island... would have been nice.
-
Ah I didn't know they capped the !s, I leveled up my fujitora from lvl 50 to 67 in that battle, so it is good for that atleast.
Im saving the skillposters for the last, so I have something to do with my level breaked characters.

Bought the game on Steam…
Maybe I am too old to play video games or maybe this one is just not my type... But I find it so tiresome and boring? @_@ You just run around huge, empty locations and smash thousands of fodder masses... I've completed 3 stages so far and it took me around 4 hours... I dread to think how many hours total you need to beat this thing. -
@Al!naJames:

don't worry, it's probably the latter
you da real MVP, finally managed to complete the War's Conclusion, thanks.
Saboady, Summit Battle, Fishman Island, and Punk Hazard are the only stages I haven't gotten 100% for yet

Missions take quite long to complete due to lots of speech bubbles and locked zones. I think I finished the main story in ~12hrs and that was rushing it.

I dread to think how many hours total you need to beat this thing. You're not actually meant to kill everything in sight. A level should take roughly 20 minutes to complete. The focus is mean to be doing the various objectives people say (e.g. find Crocodile to get him to open this door in Impel Down, as per Ivankov's instructions) and the enemies are basically obstacles to that. There are also lots of hidden events that you can only see by doing certain things such as fighting Moria with Jinbe at Marineford.
In the longrun, it's really about levelling up the characters, seeing all their moves and getting the best skills for them. Like an RPG, really. There are certain interesting elements that different characters have, like Aokiji can freeze enemies (of course) but if you press R1 he'll kick and shatter them. If there's a load of frozen enemies in a row, you get a huge chain reaction as they all shatter each other. Blackbeard can gather more and more people in his shadows before finally launching them out. Law's R1 move simply sets up Room. Certain parts of his moves only affect things in the room, yet his sword slashes effect whatever they hit, as you'd expect. That means you can put up Room in one place around a bunch of enemies, then go off and start hitting some other guys with your sword while all the guys in Room get affected as well, before finally get their heads swapped with cannonballs. You can play it just button mashing but there's a lot of variety and possible depth to what you can do.
-
It is mostly mindless hack n slash. There's no real strategy, you're free to spam whatever one move is the most efficient. i.e. Zoro's forward spin attack. Yeah, there's always been a tiny bit of RPG elements in Toei games but it is negilible and repetitive as hell. All maps are simply fight x minions, capture x area, defeat x mini-bosses, redefeat them, then repeat for the final boss. It's tedious from a Western gamer's point of view. It's not some deep gameplay like Dark Souls.
In the end it's just a reskin of dynasty warriors, and most people are probably fine with or expect that. Now if only they used Orochi's mechanics I'd be happier.
-
While this isn't a strategy game, saying that there is no real strategy is selling the game pretty short, unless you're the type of player who doesn't care about S ranks, getting treasure events, or completing Dream Log.
Prioirtizing which territories to capture, rationing the Kizuna bar, knowing which combos are effective for clearing out a room the quickest, babysitting your allies when they're about to flee….
That takes some level of strategizing and quick thinking. -

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on it, thank you. I also don't see any strategic elements here… Sure, there are decisions you can make, but game pretty much tells you what to do 99% of the time and you just need to follow the instructions as quickly and as efficient as possible.
I'll try playing it a bit more but boy do I not see myself beating the whole thing. I guess another huge problem for me might be that I'm a really pro-console girl. Playing with my keyboard on the computer is just frustrating. I guess I need to buy a gamepad for my PC. -

That takes some level of strategizing and quick thinking.- S rank overall - just attack the closest objective with the most efficient skill (i.e. Zoro's forward tornado, or Marco's strafe spin)
- ! S rank - use special/tag special on areas with lots of minions, ez farm
- S rank time - rush the mission (I think 15 mins or so was enough for this?)
- S rank fighting or what ever it was called - kill more than ~1500 fodder
- treasure events - look at "objective list" or "? on the map" to complete. Doesn't help that you often need to use specific heroes to do it, so you're forced to do two playthroughs, three if you are unlucky. At least you get a small cutscene for your efforts.
- saving allies - your movespeed is enough to run from one side of the map to the other fast and even on hard mode you will still reach your ally in time before they fall (from the hp notification speech)
- Dream log - ehhhhh, it's just fanservice, the story here is negilible, it's fun and all to live out some fantasy scenarios but it's still the usual musou gameplay.
- rinse and repeat for about 30 maps for the main story, and if tedium hasn't settled in yet, rinse and repeat for every character in dream log
Doesn't solve the core issue of being generic hack n slash. Honestly, I don't mind that, nor do I expect better from Koei, but when talking about strategy it's certainly no RTS, TBS or cRPG. Heck it doesn't even come close to some jRPGs. It's fun if you take it for what it is, a fanservice One Piece hack n slash where you can play your favourite character and use their moves. I find myself wishing more for a cRPG or jRPG adventure experience, even when I know that's not a thing Koei does.
And why can Crocodile grab bosses but Luffy and Marco can't? Koei balance pls guess it is something to do with aerial grabs vs hold grabs
The most fun I had in this game? Using Crocodile's drain grab attack on bosses and feeling like a badass. It's really fun to use on Morgan, heh. Or playing co-op with a friend.

Playing with my keyboard on the computer is just frustrating. I guess I need to buy a gamepad for my PC.Yeah, reviews everywhere have said the controls suck and you pretty much need a controller, it's been the case for nearly all Koei ports (no mouse support, lousy default controls that are not really usable). Luckily in Musou games you don't need the camera much, just the movement axis + a few attack buttons so you can rebind the controls somewhat and it's playable on a keyboard. It's somewhat understandable cause most Japanese companies don't have much PC experience apart from those that make MMOs.
Been using something like this for all the Musou games: (you mostly use Jump, attack, movement and the occasionally special so it is very playable)
Z/X/C/V - attacks
W/A/S/D - camera
Arrow keys - movement
Q/E/R/F -special actions (R1/R2/L1/L2) (you don't use them often so it's okay)
Space - Jump/Dodge
Esc - Pause (I need to bind this? seriously?)But yeah, controller is much better.
-
If the musou genre isn't something you're into, those are generally acceptable complaints. Repetition is a key element to this style of gaming. And since this is an anime licensed game, don't expect the budget to be very high.
On the grab thing, Luffy's grab move is his Bell attack (TSS). Almost every character has a move that holds, pulls in or restrains an enemy. It's not always a grab move. I haven't played enough with Marco to recall what his technique is.
-
Marco does a grab after his forward spin. I think it was Triangle>Square>Square>Square. But it's aerial so, for some reason it refuses to grab named bosses or it just won't hit them. It will grab nameless captains first if you lock on to them, but trying it with bosses just ends up grabbing generic minions. Can't seem to clear enough fodder to test it in a 1v1 against bosses.
Same with Luffy. Maybe it's cos aerial grabs would look weird vs bosses? I am referring to his post time-skip grab where he spins a guy and then launches him into the air.
Crocodile's one is the best since it looks swag and it can grab bosses, basically making it a free perma stun.
-
Crocodile is an unbeatable god. I was getting wrecked by Magellan in the story mode and found out later in the fight when I was near death that it worked. Completely turned the tables around. Free health all over the map when playing as Croc. His unique action is also awesome, nah bitch!
-
when i read Samurai Chopper DLC, I was really hoping for this:
!
-
The Platinum trophy is now mine! Hell yea~!
-
So I pre-ordered the PS3 Doflamingo edition of this from amazon UK and it finally arrived today, but I found no download codes for this:
Are these pre-order bonuses not available from Amazon? Or did I just not get an e-mail for them? -
I pre-ordered from Amazon and got the codes via e-mail. Check your spam folder. If still nothing, contact Amazon.
I also remember on PSN that only the PS4 version had dlc bonus with pre-order.
(I pre-ordered the PS4 version from Amazon US btw.)

What stages can you recommend for leveling up the crew levels for characters like Bellamy, Kaku, Arlong, etc. I feel like I never have them as partners and the only thing in my way of the platinum is leveling up crew levels to complete the gallery.
Also I never really understood how those level up. Is it based on how many times you use them to get kizuna based kills?
-
It is based on how many "!"s you get. A trick that worked for me was right when the Kizuna Rush was about to run out, I'd hit R2 again and my Kizuna Rush meter would be 1/3rd full, if not more.
For what level to play to level up certain chatacters. You are going to have to start, exit and re-start a lot. So, starting from where you start, go forward to one island past the first strong character island. It should be a CP9 vs World Government island where you can pick either side. I only got Kaku to pop on the World Government side. So select that, then exit and restart until you get him as an ally.
The others get trickier to explain, but I'll link to a site I bookmarked when I get home later.
–-
So here is the link.
http://blog.game-de.com/one-piece3/opm3dreamstage/
The island I mentioned before was number 65 (choose world government until Kaku pops).
I would say 9 for Arlong )choose fish men til Arlong pops).
Maybe 41 for Bellamy? I got him MAX'd quickly with the DLC colosseum island.
-
How should I get bb newworld custom?
-
How should I get bb newworld custom?
Just beat Shanks in Dream Log with him and you can buy it.
Only Punk Hazard and Dressrosa left for 100% and then I got the Legend. For Platin left is then the whole Galerie and 20 Max Friends. Then Nightmare Log and Pirate King Online Rank. I'm 46 Hours in the Game and its definitly my Game of the Year considering I played the Japanese Version already 100 Hours. Love the Game so much and as a Musou Fan its the best Musou Game for me. Hope they will make PW 4 in 2 Years or so.
I will definitly play this until PW 4 comes out just like I played PW 2 until PW 3 :)
-
So to get 100% in the gallery you just need to buy everything in the shop and 100% Legend Log, Dream Log, and max every characters partner level?

there's no shanks in my dreamlog
Did you beat him already? He stand before the last Island, if you beat him you have to do the Level 100 Island to reset the Bosses. Shanks is alway on the same Spot.

Where does Aokiji appear in the dream log guys?
-
^I forget his exact location, but you can scan the map to check out the islands you haven't been to yet and look for him that way
also fun fact, when Hancock uses her love beam on Fujitora it doesn't turn him to stone but just knocks him off balance
-
