I just played the game. But I have 1 problem with the costumes.
I preordered the normal PS3 version on amazon.de - got the gift code for PSN store, downloaded everything without a problem… there can I chance the damn costumes and see the extra missions? I had no problem with Pirate Warriors 2, but this time I am to dumb to find it.
In the PS3 menu at the point there you can select the game, there are some files that are talking about starting the PS3 launcher with the PS vita???

So far this game is really fun! Except for a few things like the absence of almost every side-character …
And the Treasure Event where Usopp has to fight Kuro is driving me mad ... i tried it 3 times, but he won't attack him, no matter how close he is to him!!
Or am i missing something?? -
I didn't get the preorder bonuses but it doesn't really mather.
I went up to Arlong Park today !

-
The PC version, from what I've gathered, has the same amount of enemies on screen and the same stable 60fps like the PS4 version, BUT it has none of the extra lighting and shaders, a smaller draw distance, and no online co-op.
Not a terrible port, but PC gamers got the short-end of the stick on this one.
I heard it was a bug and that graphics are stuck at the lowest settings regardless of what you set.
Namco commented that they were looking into it on twitter.
-
Just beat Moriah with Usopp. Man, I thought that Shadow Asgard was a lot bigger than that, and Oars is a pain in the ass. Usopp is not a easy character to play with, but I was expecting this.
Tomorrow I will beat SA and than I will train, just like in the manga :v.
So far, I liked the costumes, especially Boa´s costumes.
-
… were you playing as usopp?
If it were that easy, i wouldn't have a problem!
But that's not what you have to do. I tried it once as Usopp, but it did not work. On the map Usopp and Kuro both have a question mark which probably means that the AI Usopp has to fight. At least that's what the event says. Guess i just have to play it again …
-
I really hate playing Usopp 1.0
-
Usopp is pretty good once you get a good idea of how his combos work. And when you get his other Gold Skill Coins.

I had quite the experience getting this from GameStop. I had reserved the game and paid it off in full in advance. I go to pick the game up on release day, and the only copy they had left was the display copy. The guy couldn't find the case for it and then asked if I'd be OK getting just the disc only. Without blowing my top, I told him I'd prefer the game with the box and he found it underneath a stack of PS4 games sitting on the counter. I complained to GameStop and the general manager for my area got me a new sealed copy with the steelbook case put back for me. I swapped in the display copy for the new one and got 15% back in store credit for their mistake. Can't wait to get started but I wanna get done with Pirate Warriors 2 first since I got it from the PSN Flash Sale.

Some good news for PC players like me - a guy on the Steam forums is working on a mod to improve the colors and draw distance. I've already decided I'm not playing any more until he posts it. http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/140544

That's gamestop for ya. Good on you for not letting them get away with it though, far too many people do. I once saw a kid buy a "new" copy of Assassin's Creed at GS, only to return five minutes later complaining that there was no disc in the already-opened case they gave him. :getlost:

It's humorous how the Metacritic score is a 77 from 7 different reviewers.

WOW, the marineford part is…tense. So tense that the game "fucks up" with your controller. Also, Doflamingo is huge, he is way bigger than I thought and I missed BB and Kizaru during the war.
Something tells me that Moriah is not a playable character.

Moria is playable.

@S.C.:
Moria is playable.
Really now ? Thanks for the information.
So far I am liking this "coins" system to upgrade your character.
-
I bought the game for the Vita. Ive played 2 dreamlog missions so far and I noticed something pretty neat. I chose the same island, the level 4 one, twice as Luffy in different outfits and the map you play on changes though the boss was the same. Boss was Monet for anyone wondering.
One more thing, I got a code from Namco Bandai for the Fan Gift Pack, but the code seems to have been redeemed already. I dont understand what happened.
Edit: Welp, I was wrong. The maps seem to just change every time you play the same island since Ive chosen the same island again with the New World outfit and the map isnt the same as the time I played with the New World outfit.

Anyone know how to unlock Alvida? I need to use her Kizuna attack to unlock Cat Burglar. Nami's skills are Cat Burglar+ and ++. They need the base skill from Alvida before they'll unlock. It's quite annoying.
Anyway, I'm really enjoying this game. I actually got MGSV two days ago and have played PW3 more.

You know I noticed a lot of translation inaccuracies like this while playing such as Bentham saying "Oh come my way" instead of Okama way
-
That might just be censored, KJ.
-
@S.C.:
That might just be censored, KJ.
Yeah, I think it is. That translation's been used before. I don't think it's so much censored as much as it's just that most people would have no idea what he's talking about. We all do, of course, but this is for a wider audience than hardcore fans.
Hey, at least in this game they got "I'll see you at the top" correct, none of that "I'll see you at the Pirate's Summit".
-
Kizaru's coat disappears completely in kizuna mode on PC, heh.
-
Damn, the french translation is quite bad.
But I still love the game. My favorite characters for now are Sanji and Tashigi (but I only got up to Mock Town though). -

Yeah, Tashigi is great. I'm happy about that because other female characters like Robin and Nami feel quite limited and ineffective compared to many of the male characters. I've yet to find a use for her R1 attack, though. I should really read the description in case there's more to it, but as it stands right now it seems like a really slow attack that you always get knocked out of.

Isnt that how viz or funimation has been translating it for a while now?

As I said, I don't think it's for that reason. He's already an incredibly stereotypical parody of a gay man with or without the word "okama" attached to him. I think the bigger thing is just that it's word most readers won't be familiar with. Don't they also translate a lot of other terms into English, like Shichibukai being Seven Warlords of the Sea? The difference here is if you translate "okama" into "drag queen" and then have him saying "drag queen way" it doesn't make any sense. It just sounds like gibberish.

In Marine ford, in the Log Event that asks to defeat Garp before some time, I always rush to garp first but they don't give me the Treasure Event :( I don't know what I'm missing, so Far I tried 3 times, I have all other trasures and Logs for that episode allready,
-
So I'm trying to get 100% Dream Board and stuff on the stages but for some reason when I use Usopp to fight Kuro and beat him it doesn't give me the treasure event. Is this a common glitch or am I doing something wrong?
-

I can remember this particular translation being used since the last decade.
-
So finished Dream Log 100% with all Movies. Now I can play the remaining Legend Log Level for 100% an then a little farming and Platin is mine :)
Did all most all Levels with imba Fujitora, arround 5 Minutes per Level for S Rank pro Island. Very effective. He is just to imba, but good for me, played the Log normally in the japanese Version. Now I can focus on my Favorites Doflamingo, Enel and Hancock.
You must lure Kuro to the NPC Usopp which is quite a Task. Thy have to meet and the only Way doing it is let him attack you and lure him to Usopp. The Translation of the Event is wong here.
-
WOW..I really liked Lucci, his "morphing" combos are so cool, from human to leopard, can you unlock his 4th form. And I finally unlocked Moria, now I am happy.
The special talks they have (like Kuro with Lucci) gave a special touch in the game for me.
Another thing, I am having a hard time getting the "!"s in the missions.
-

I am confused on this one as well. I beat Garp before the text telling me to beat him even appeared and still got nothing.
–
With some advice from Stephen.... basically just do the objectives. It isn't how fast you beat him from when he appears as it is overall time. So go straight to the objectives.
-
You know I noticed a lot of translation inaccuracies like this while playing such as Bentham saying "Oh come my way" instead of Okama way
The biggest ones I noticed are Zoro referring to Kuina as a "he" and the game claming Ivankov (while in his male form) is female.
-
The first mistranslation that I spotted was Chopper calling "Tairo" for help, I was thinking..who is Tairo ? And to my surprise, it was Law.
-
Wapol also says "boron" all the time.
-
Wapol also says "boron" all the time.
I believe that's their take on his verbal tic (Instead of saying "Baka", he would say "Kaba").

Orochi Musou player here, having a blast with some of the SW/DW costumes. It helps a lot that most of them are from characters I liked.
Feels really weird playing the SH crew with Enies Lobby era clothes at the start. I would prefer Romance Dawn clothes, but ah well.
At least we get Miss All Sunday, but then you realise it's just her Enies lobby clothes with a coat + hat over it. Her actual cowboy clothes aint there. Sure, you won't really notice it from the back but it's really obvious if you look at her feet (or from the front ofc).
Also feels really weird going from Loguetown straight to Drum island. Eh, understandable that 2 islands had little worth a musou map, and the whiskey peak would have some really lame boss characters, but it just drops the whole Albasta arc to merely 1 map, and it doesn't feel much more important than Loguetown.
And weirdly Nami didn't get either doublefinger or Kalifa. And then you realise how little presence she has in this game. Not playable in most of Romance dawn because she has no Climact to fight with and disappears often, misses out on 2 of her boss fights, and isn't playable often afterwards because she has a tendancy to be plot crucial or whatever. Would hurt less if cutscenes didn't constantly remind you she existed like it's teasing you.
And Zoro can fight Tashigi? I thought he'd get that perma-block skill that Sanji gets vs women.
Overall standard musou game with One Piece reskin, quite fun if your brain is tired or half-asleep, or prefer grindy hack n slash. otherwise yeah…
Too used to Orochi's swap system and wish we had that here.
-
Anyone know if characters that would canonically have haki can damage Logias in their elemental form and don't need that skill that allows you to do so?
Another thing, I am having a hard time getting the "!"s in the missions.
The key is to use your kizuna rush mode whenever you get it. Don't try and hold onto it for a special occassion unless you know you're right next to the final boss of the stage. Even then, there's almost always a large meat in a chest in the boss' room.
They add things progressively as they make more games. Nowadays Dynasty Warriors has over 80 characters fighting 1000s of enemies across many large, open maps. The first DW had 16 characters and was a one-on-one fighting game. I'd like to have seen those places too but it's the kind of thing they'll add in future games.
This is the same as above. It's a shame Nami isn't used more but she's in a bit of a unique position in that she didn't actually fight in her own introduction arc, and often seems to avoid combat ever since then. The enemies she did fight, as per usual for women inshounen manga, are usually not really important to the plot and so are low priority when it comes to putting characters into the game.
And Zoro can fight Tashigi? I thought he'd get that perma-block skill that Sanji gets vs women.
Well I know for a fact that in the Alabasta stage he refuses to fight her. Not as a gameplay thing as it is with Sanji, but as a plot thing.

I'm also not a fan of some of the pre ts strawhats costumes, however except for Robin none of them are actually wearing their enies lobby clothes, they're just similair but are actually non-canon (zoro, nami, sanji, usopp, franky).
I think all of the omitted arcs could be well done in a musou game, whiskey peak with luffy(or miss allsunday) as end boss and several treasure events for zoro. Little garden involving treasure event with giants and mr. 3 as end boss, he could have several clones appearing throughout the map. Foxy arc with a lot of missions and Aokiji as end boss and Amazon lily with female soldiers like they have in the dynasty warriors games. Hopefully it will all be included in the next game.

Uhh, I had no problems with Tashigi playing as Zoro in story mode in both Loguetown and Alabasta. He tags out if you are not playing as him, but if you are then he can still fight her.

They would at least be equal to Mr 1/2 and Kaku/Jabra. Eh, I understand they probably don't have the budget for a 3rd miniboss, just hurts seeing her in so many cutscenes but not that playable in story mode.

Oh, I mainly said enies lobby because of Zoro and Robin. Luffy and Sanji don't change clothes enough to be noticable, and I have no idea where Nami's clothes came from (plus she changes like at least every half an arc or so).
But Zoro sure looks like his EL clothes to me?
Just meant it was jarring seeing clothes from like chapter 300+, especially in his intro story, not that I was referring to specific clothes.I hope the 4th game will be on PC again. Though it'll probably be a while.

What's the best way to level up your crew members? I've had the earlier SHs maxed for a while now but all the others seem to be taking forever. Also, what's the criteria for that thing where you get bonus coins for the characters in your skill posters? It'll say +2 coins on them. Is it just getting a certain amount of "!" in a certain battle? I seemed to get it quite a lot earlier in the game and hardly ever now.
Uhh, I had no problems with Tashigi playing as Zoro in story mode in both Loguetown and Alabasta. He tags out if you are not playing as him, but if you are then he can still fight her.
Yeah, that's what I said. In the storyline of Alabasta he refuses to fight her but it's not a gameplay thing like Sanji. His uneasiness around Tashigi is nowhere near as strong as Sanji's inability to fight women. Remember, when he first meets her in Loguetown he fights her and actually humiliates her. Sanji is so against hitting women that he couldn't even hit Mr 2 while her pretended to be Nami, even though it's a man and even though he was kicking the crap out of Sanji. Just the appearance of it being a woman is bad enough.
-
Did anyone order the Doflamingo Edition from Amazon UK. Are you supposed to get the steelbook and DLC codes with it?
-
Encountered a great translation error where Ace refers to Logia users as Logic users.
Ah yes, logic user. Truly the most terrifying devil fruit type.
In all seriousness though is there any place that has the S rank requirements for the Legend Log levels? I can never S-rank Enies Lobby it seems.
-
Has anyone here got 100% on Thriller Bark, Water Seven and Marineford Part 2?
The whole "use Brook to unify the crew" thing is pretty vague, I can never seem to get complete control of the front of Iceburg's mansion and even though I beat Garp less than a minute after he spawns I never get the treasure event for "beating him within the time limit"
-
You have to take control of the mansion 10 times, and for Brook find all the members before facing Perona. I haven't reached marineford 2 yet, I'm stuck in enies lobby, I can't get the strategies right.
-
Thanks. I'm assuming the Brook requirement come into play during her second fight where Kuma shows up at the same time?
What are you stuck on with EL?
-
No, it's in the beginning where the mist is. You have to find them there (excluding Nami) before attempting to fight Perona. After you do this and a scene will trigger when you first encounter Oars, beat him and the second time you fight him a question mark will appear. About Enies Lobby I'm messing the last legend log where it asks to do all the strategies, but every time I do it it doesn't work I don't know what I did wrong.

Capture all bases below the bridge and wait for Franky and Usopp to reach them before starting a fight with Lucci. You'll see both Franky and Usopp confirming that they've found the right spot to make their strategy.
