I can't make polls, but I invite an interested party to post the question: Will Sugar's devil-fruit toy-curse be lifted by way of a loss of consciousness? If I could vote, it'd be a "no."
Discuss.
I believe that her df is similar to shiki's, to remove the effect you have to either make the user undo it or make him/her lose consciousness.

Pretty sure that's why the toys and humans must go back to their houses at a certain time (when Sugar sleeps). Also I wonder how when they return they don't try and fight Trebol when Sugar tries to change them back?
-
well i believe we will see nightfall in dressrosa to answer our questions

it was already stated by toysoldier that the toys have to go to the toy house, not to be turned back because of sugars sleeping, but because they work in shifts
-

Wasn't it stated by the Toy soldier that they work non-stop anyways without sleep?
-
Didn't the last chapter or two chapters ago say something about the Toys working through the night? Toys don't return to human forms at night FFS.
Alright?
A simple mistake on my part, although I said nothing about them changing back? I had misinterpreted her power in a different way. But abbreviated swearing is not necessary. Thanks. -

I see. So Elizabello II who one-shotted most of block B must have been admiral level.
The bar for Admiral level has really been lowered if you're Admiral level
Can you two stop using stupidity in your favor. Elizabello was already foreshadowed to have a destructive punch and he had less screen time than Rebeca thus we we're expecting some awesome results, now what was foreshadow about her that will help her to one shot everybody on that block? her evasive fighting style or was her 'I wanna be with soldier-san'
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
It's a level of mastery thing. Capt. Kuro have it better.
But Kuro knows what he's doing, those guys are saying that she use it unconsciously like its some kind of Conqueror's haki shit
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
We are not unconscious when we sleep, in fact our brains are very active during the night. I thought this is generally knowledge?
Apparently no.

We have not see anything sugesting that any of D block fighters had that kind of capability.
I her case it was foreshadowed by incredible speed of the guy who teached her how to fight. Namely Soldier. It is also mentioned in this very chapter that he considers himself a crappy father that could only give his daughter strenght. If she loses now, that revelation goes into the thrash bin, since he evidently failed in giving her even that.
Also, no else was foreshadowed to have ability and speed on that level in the slightest, so why do you keep talking about it? Does Meadows has any foreshadowing about being quick, or in fact being a credible threat at all? Does Cavendish?
-
Elizabello had a punch which can make a giant hole in a fortress and can theoretically knock out a yonkou if it connects. And we see him charging it since the start and even have a formation so he can throw that punch.Rebecca has a fluid style base on dodging and we see Toy soldier telling her she'll gain a style who doesn't involve hurting others. Than we see her struggling in block D while claiming how determines she is.

Oh dear good loooooooooooooooord.

It was foreshadowed that she had speed, no that she had incredible speed. Luffy has incredible speed. strength, the only thing he taught her was how to dodge/defend attacks that's the main reason why he taught her Observation Haki, he didn't taught her how to hurt people or one shot a bunch of gladiators for that matter and no, it doesn't go into trash because this flashback just showed us what Toy soldier and Rebeca are willing to do in order to live a happy life, it didn't show us how strong this girl became because my daddy teach me how to fight or how I can use an incredible ability unconsciously.
Also, no else was foreshadowed to have ability and speed on that level in the slightest, so why do you keep talking about it? Does Meadows has any foreshadowing about being quick, or in fact being a credible threat at all? Does Cavendish?
No one was foreshadow in that Block to posses that type ability, just this one guy that we never saw during the fight even though Oda has NEVER forgotten a character. Meadow doesn't have any foreshadowing, he only wears a cheetah outfit and a diabolic smile. Cavendish wields a freaking named swords isn't that enough.

You know what… now that I think about it...
If this tournament continues, it makes no sense for Rebecca to continue. If this competition follows normal rules, next we are going to see Block A winner vs Block B winner and Block C winner vs Block D winner.
I'm going to say that Burgess will beat Bartholomeo, and then Sabo will need someone strong as opponent to prove that he can be a danger to Burgess. And Rebecca isn't it, even if she has some incedible technique that can do that.
And the, the finals would be Burgess vs Sabo. Which I hope Burgess wins. Mostly because Blackbeard pirates have to much build up for now to simply lose.

God I came here to read this 50 page thread looking for good theories on the latest chapter, and all you shitheads manage to come up with is Meadows -.-

Why A vs B and C vs D?
It could easily be A vs C and B vs D. Better yet, a drawing of lots.

or better yet an all out battle royal between the winners of each block may the best man/women win.

Finally somebody got some freaking sense, there's no point in Rebeca advancing. I made the question and nobody answer it because she will just get destroyed in the next round but they keep arguing about it and for some reason I feel like the next round is going to be a free for all that will most likely turn out onto Cell's tournament type of thing (no out of bound loser).
Jesus, who knows whats going to happen to that dude.

I already made that point a long time ago. Rebecca can get her round victory and some respect from the crowd. People are still going to hate her but a few might be swayed. Then she'll lose after in the next round.
Then I went into the whole point of why making some super secret Meadows reveal just to screw Rebecca's moment and then have him job in the next round.

If Sabo defeats Jesus Burgess, it is extremely likely the Marines would go ahead and arrest the latter while they can.
The Blackbeard Pirates have already been building up, in hype and forces, at a ridiculous level and it started with the defeat of Ace. The recruitment of Level 6 Impel Down inmates and the captain obtaining two DFs overblown him at ridiculous speeds. Add to that the intimate knowledge he has on Whitebeard's territories and you see why none of the other Yonkou or any other strong crew/alliance challenged him for those two years. The only ones who did were the Bonney Pirates and we all know what happened to them.
And I am not even adding the fact that the Blackbeard Pirates have been killing DF users to steal their fruits.
Burgess' defeat would certainly have a huge impact on the New World as they lose a certain level of invincibility. Plus, it would force Blackbeard to actually come after the Straw Hats (he certainly can't afford to face the Revolutionary Army).

can't she loose and get respect from the crowd at the same time.

How can she get respect from the crowd if nobody saw her doing it? If anything, they'll call shenanigans.
Not to mention that with the Toy Soldier ready to confront Dofla (and the fact she has CoO), she'll leave the Colosseum soon anyway, so having her advance would be pointless.

Rebecca have always wins her matches. Why would they suddenly come to respect Rebecca for having once again escape death?

Some will know. Or it's classic Oda misdirection. They know it was her but it was so fast they lost track of her and were confused of what actually happened. If we'll get the flashback and it's actually Rebecca. They'll be buildup to that actual moment with the crowd somewhat aware of what's happening. All we got was the ending not what actually happened inbetween.
Plus with King Riku down there trapped. I don't think Oda wants to have the King Riku and Rebecca reunion yet. He'll probably save that moment for later.

New powerful move. Defeated alot of big names who aren't just the usual gladiators she has always beaten. Bare in mind, I ain't saying she'll get a complete turnaround. It's just planting the seeds for some respect. That's she's not just a weak princess but actually has some power. Remember the Colisseum is a big thing in Dressrosa. With Kyros being a legendary guy in it. Her proving herself as a strong gladiator and finally gaining respect despite their hate will also bring some closure to that part of her background.

So she would get respected for what she has been proving them for years: she's strong. It's not like people are booing her for being weak they booing her because they want her dead. Her being strong is a problem for them.

They're booing her becuase they hate her family. It's years of built up hate from what King Riku supposably did.

We have a shot of the audience going "what happened?". Assuming that they know is really reaching it because of the following:
1- They are already aware of Rebecca's fighting style. She relies on ring-outs and not hurting her opponents (not the case here).
2- Rebecca is on the floor, like all the other fighters. People would assume she was hit too. They're booing her becuase they hate her family. It's years of built up hate from what King Riku supposably did.
They already respect her for being strong. That's why she's called "The Undefeated Woman".
Winning her block won't make people suddenly drop their hatred for Riku.
-

Unless it really is a super secret attack by some outside party. Plus for the Meadows fanboys….... how will Meadows earn his respect if nobody knows what he did.

It's that classic Tsundere moment. I hate her but wow that was amazing.

Sabo knows and Burguess and Diamente probably knows. Plus he will be the only one unharmed.
-
Forgive me if it has already been suggested, but what about Diamante as the cause of the sudden KO's? Sabo states he'd "heard of this happening before," and seemed to have seen something others spectators missed in the ring. Since DD left the coliseum to him, maybe Diamante decided to expedite the conclusion by stepping in and KOing everybody?
-

He's already harmed. Meadows is on the ground along with everyone else.

So he's sabotaging his own tournament? If Diamante was going to do that he would go after the winners who aren't fighting in the arena.

If an outsider (somebody not from Dressrosa) did this, they would have an easier time understanding what happened. There's so much weird abilities out there after all.
Rebecca, however, has been fighting in the Colosseum for years, but nobody has ever saw her pulling this kind of stunt before. They would have a harder time believing it.

Seeing is believing. If she's the one who is standing up of course. Now if she did it and we have a surprise winner standing up instead that'll completely ruin it's impact as well as believability to the audience. Like I said, if it is Rebecca and someone else stands up it'll ruin the moment.

What respect are you talking about? If she wins people's hate will just grow stronger and once everything in Dressrosa is done the citizens will just feel awful for treating their Princess that way, there's no going to be respect just because she won this round.
There's no such thing as Rebeca's moment, only you and the other dude are expecting some Rebeca's moment, at this point Rebeca is just a girl in need, nothing more. Viola has more importance than her in whats actually happening in Dressrosa
-

He could have been hidden by the smoke.
He is speeding the tournament. He has more important stuff to do. Attacking the winner wouldn't be discreet.

lol, they're going to feel awful regardless if she wins or loses. The people of Dressrosa have been treating the Riku family like crap for years.
Nope, sorry Viola isn't more important then Rebecca.

What drug are you using man?
-
You know, Rebecca already had plenty of moments already, being the only properly focused contestant in D-Block.
I dunno what Phoenix Zoan means by ruining her moment. People were still praising her despite the hate.
-
By the way, I expected Rebecca to be the one standing up. But I dom't think she's responsible for the attack.
-
He could have been hidden by the smoke.

It said everyone was down and someone was standing up. So everyone was down. If he was still in the smoke. It would be something like "Look someone is still standing."
Diamante's job is take care of the tournament. Not to defend the factory. He has no reason to speed things along. -

What? They're going to feel awful after they regain their memories no before that, the best case scenario here is to satisfy the citizen, so once they realized whats going on their love for the Riku Family and Rebeca can be untouchable.
Viola is more important than Rebeca, Viola holds the key that will make Fujitora decide Doflamingo's fate, WTF are you been reading for gods sake
-
By the way, I expected Rebecca to be the one standing up. But I dom't think she's responsible for the attack.
It wouldn't make sense though. That was a get stronger flashback. Not a never give up flashback. It would be a weird flashback by Oda to use there.

How did that change what I said. They're going to feel like crap regardless when the truth comes out since they've been treating the Riku family for years.
Fujitora isn't the one whose going to take down Doflamingo. That'll be Luffy. Viola will just help Fujitora decide to stand aside and let the SH's do their thing. Rebecca will run Dressrosa after.
-

Exactly. Starting to respect her now would be pointless.
