:) I got caught up in image of social engineering and wrote stupid things. Now I'm thinking whenever I'm not mentally retarded.
AP Awards Discussion Thread
-
-
I actually forget that this is a One Piece forum half of the time because I lurk in General Discussion and Media a lot. Though obviously One Piece was a big factor in why I joined in the first place…that and this place seeming like a genuinely great community. I actually used last year's awards to get to know the forum, as a kind of 'Best of'. Though admittedly my initial focus was on making silly campaigns for the tournament…not even wanting my characters to win, but just having fun XD
-
Came here for the One Piece, Stayed for the community.
And, of course, to boost my ego with awards
-
Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came~~
-
I came here because some former friend of mine made a pixel art Rayleigh avatar for a random user here and I wanted to see what that was all about. Then I stayed.
-
Came here because it was written in one piece wikia that this is one of the best one piece forum in terms of information. Or something like that.
-
I came for One Piece and only fairly recently branched out into the Doctor Who thread and such.
The manga section is still my real scuttling ground though.
-
I stalked e1n here from Deviantart. Thanks to stalking, I've actually gianed some really close friends here. Even some recognition from the person I was originally stalking. Stalker cred.
It helps to be bold and upfront though. Sadly, I'm just not as forward as I was anymore. At some point I thought my antics may have annoyed too many people.
-
If I don't get any award I will kill myself
you heard it here first
-
I might let you smell one of mine. If you behave
-
Came here because I wanted to know were the spoilers came from.
-
I became addicted with forums for my interest to learn and improve my english. But then I found OP anime->manga->OM forums->site got closed, therefore I came here.
-
Which one can I smell?
-
The Most Profound one that we're not going to let him win again this year.
-
LOL who is more profound than Wolfwoof
-
How is Wolfwood profound, I still don't get it. ;D
I always thought it's the best injoke exactly because it's so contrary. Unless the award means "Profound" and not Profound.
-
I came here for spoilers chapter 595, the one with doflamingo saying he actually didn't kill moriah. Lots of people posting a certain iconic picture of moriah for a hundred pages.
I instantly fell in love with the place.
-

Well to be honest, I don't understand the metric that is in place for a lot of these awards… Like "originality", first of all what definition of the term is being used here, second of all how do we accurately measure somebody's "originality" from their posts on a manga forum?
-
Yeah, lol, there is none for most of them. It's purely subjective. We can just work with the assumption that the majority has similar enough metrics for the implied titles to work. And that's the joke.
Still, I've always associated the word "profound" with philosophical thought as opposed to finding the best metaphors for everything. Which is totally an award Wolfwood should get every year. But the deeper contemplation on the real nature of things award? I don't think our wolf would even want that himself. It's not his style. :I

AP Awards: the most scientific study ever conducted
-
Oh, just wait till we get to the part where we machinate the brand new Most Scientific award.
-
I do all sorts of science on these awards and they're legit. Whenever I do an error analysis, I get back negative numbers. You would have to introduce errors to the system before we could identify it as having none.
-
Lets face it, only way to prevent wolfwood from getting most profound award is exclude him from this category altogether.
-
I tried to write an small app to calculate the most original poster based on a number of factors.
I don't think I've ever seen a loop this infinite.
-
I think people may be confusing "most profound" with "most high."

Did you carry the 1 ?
-
wolfwood makes the best innuendos and if that's not the sign of profundity I don't know what is.
-
@metteminne:

Dude, I carried the 1 so hard, Newton's ghost mistook me for Atlas.

There is your problem , he should have seen you as somebody who carried the Triangle of Pascal , go revise your math
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
On another note : the Best series and Worst series ; are those about the new ones or in general?
-
Stuff that ran this year. Or ages old stuff that famously got reruns during the year for whatever reason should something like that happen.
-

Fuck you're right…
Now I'm getting imaginary numbers. Shit's so tight, you would have to multiply the error by pi and raise e to it to even get a real number.

If the error is imaginary, does that mean the problem is all in your head?
-
Pretty sure you studied meth instead of math , pretty sure you should be getting complex numbers . Retry it again
-
Remember that a bunch of these rewards are "Most _____"
Ergo, the more posts you make, the more likely you are to win that award because it all adds up

Start your spam engines, everyone :ninja:

Ohhh, and wolfwood is on the first page of forum members when sorted by their post count. That cheeky wolf, no wonder he keeps winning. He makes the occasional super profound post somewhere where no one sees him and proceeds to make tens of hilarious innuendos and other high quality non-content posts while laughing all the way to the podium.
Such masterful display, I am shamed.
-
Then why the hell does Beka keep showing up here ? Now my solutions don't make any sense anymore
TO THE WINDOWS!

Well you can look at it that way
but obviously, from having more posts, he easily gains at minimum +1 profound per post
Ergo, he easily plays the math game and racks up lots of profound simply by posting regardless of the content.
Quod Erat Demonstrandum. I mean jeez, I thought we were doing math here.

Umm…. should I be getting error in the form of a tensor?
-
I'm not, I hate maths. It's something that I could have been exceptional at had I ever wanted to take any other courses than just the basic stuff that was compulsory in Middle School, but it bored me to tears so I opted for languages and social studies instead.
-

Actually I think it's more like an Eigenspace. Projected onto an n-manifold.

And here I was looking at it as a positive Grassmanian. It all seems so obvious now.

It's okay, I forgive you. Your mind was just being corrupted by the Grassmannian Devil.

I knew it! You have a naked mole rat! And Brock Samson is the judge of this competition!
It's okay, I forgive you. Your mind was just being corrupted by the Grassmannian Devil.
And here I thought you could never have too much Grass…

@Toraish:
But… Which one?
...Ubiq?
It's Toraish, obviously.

Call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me~

In this narrative Foolio is Patrick Warburton, the surly authoritarian whose slowly been won over by the occasional gold nuggets in my massive output.
This of course makes Crystal miss Go

Then the two most important questions are, who is Drakken, and who is Kim?
