I remember not liking any 3rd gen Pokemon in my first playthrough. I think my only new POkemon were Mudkip and Swellow. Alakazam and Magneton were on my team for sure… maaaybe Absol. Not sure if I ever encountered one.

I recalled that one ashy mountain filled with fucking Spinda and thought "I really hate the Pokemon this gen".
Looking back now, it isn't terrible. The gen actually had several favorites I've used or seen in Colosseum. I didn't like that game at all, but I felt it showed off alot of the cooler Pokemon from that generation alot better than Ruby/Saph did.

Okay, guys, I have one tiny dream that I know we'll never get, but it kinda sticks with this thread.
The last time I watched Pokemon anime was when Ash's Charizard fought a Blaziken during the tournament - this episode here, I waited at night and downloaded it in Japanese from IRC, before torrents were a thing: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/EP272
It's been, what, 12 years now? I'd love to see the anime somehow get back to this - make another fight, but this time make Harrison's Blaziken and Ash's Charizard Mega evolve. The Blaziken and Dragonite fights from the Pokemon anime are one of my favourite moments, so it'd kick ass to see some oldschool action.
As for the game - after how awful X/Y was (for me), I didn'r preorder ORAS - I'll wait a week or two after the release and check the reviews to see if there's any post-game stuff to do - X/Y had nothing to do, except that one little side-quest and Battle Mansion, far too little for me, to cash out a full price. And I'm saying it as a guy whose favourite generation was the third one.

Was the Burmy, Wormadam fusion intentional?
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

I'm mad you couldn't see Cherrim's actual form unless it was actively sunny, so 95% of the time you had to look at that bleh bud design. As for Combee…..nah, Vespiquen is one of my favorite bug types.
Screw Burmy's line, though.

Vespiqueen is cool, but the M/F ratio is shit, it should be 25% instead of the 15%, it makes breeding the queen a pain.

Tell me about it. Early in X/Y I spent an entire hour searching for a female Combee. Eventually I gave up and decided to try it again much later.
And yet is not as hard as finding a male Litleo. Man, that's infuriating.

But combee, God what a shitty design. Someone literally took honeycombs and drew smileys on them. It's like a stupider voltorb/electrode where 95% of them are useless.

The games comes out in a week….and i didn't touch Fantasy Life (i had planned to finish it before the game came out...along with a lot of unfinished games i have).
Also i totally need confirmation whether or not there is a Mega Flygon. I may need to look into that get into a relationship or life if there isn't....maaaaaan.

Agreed and agreed.
Searching for a female Combee in Y and Pearl (it's even more painful in the latter cuz of the stupid honey mechanic) was almost as torturous as fishing for a Feebas in Ruby and Sapphire.
It sucks, because I've toyed with the idea of having a Vespiquen in my party. Maybe I might do that this time.

I remember wanting to have a Snorlax in my Diamond party, but gave up on it thanks to the asinine honey mechanic. Then Barry had one for the Fight Area rematches and I was all "fuck off kid".

^Ugh, that too! It took me ages to get a Munchlax. ;_;
Which sucks, because that was the first time where you didn't have to get a Snorlax lv.30 in like the middle of the game. You could essentially make your own from scratch, which is better.

The uproar over that IGN review is fucking weird. It was mostly positive anyway. And the stuff about water and HMs… those were the exact same things we all complained about in 2003. If anything it's worse for not being fixed.
Anyway people should more critical of IGN for seemingly not being hard enough on stuff like AC:Unity, rather than actually giving Pokemon a fair shake.

I mean, outside of a few things, these games don't seem too different from the ones we played ten years ago. 7.8 is the upper level of what should be considered average. Looking at everything we know so far (and there's little we don't know), I'd say this is an average Pokemon game.

The problem with the review is that it seems he does mention the new features but they really just graze on them (don't comment on them but just go "Hey, it's neat"" and the complain about water seems to be really forced. Doesn't even mention the sountrack and….

So, it seems some guy that totally isn't me was offered to buy the game tomorrow but for like 55 dollars. This guy who totally isn't me just made his pre-order today in a store and this guy who i repeat totally isn't me has some work to do during the week not just for his job but for various side-projects but this guy that totally isn't me has the little itch now to buy the game before release date so he doesn't know what to do but the guy that totally isn't me really wants to play and have mega Fly…i mean, um...Mega...uh, Wormadan. Yeah, totally.

To be fair, fuckin Nintendo is an asshole and is kinda the expected price on México and the presale is that price (well, like 5 dollars more) and the guy that totally isn't me made the presale at that price in a department store only cause of the monthly payments with credit card.
I highly suspect that some Mexican kicked Reggie on the groin or something like that years ago.

I thought the review was pretty fair. But I don't think it's matters considering Pokemon fans would by Pokemon games anyway. I'd say it was probally writen for those that are on the fence buying it or just non-fans.
