Pokémon ORAS and Spinoffs: We Go!
-
-
-
yes but what about ridley
-
Mega Flygon is too big
-
Ugh, i'll have to make other plans now. I guess i'll take alcoholism again.
-
And the other is that there are no more megas.
Soooo… X2/Y2/Z it is for me then.
I feel bad for leaving MBeedrill behind, but hopefully my cousin will buy this game and eventually let me erase his save state (god, I hate Gamefreak for only allowing one save state per game!).
-
Some of the users here really are taking this mega stuff too seriously, lol.
-
In my case, I was not a fan of Ruby/Sapphire and I never bothered playing the remakes or the third instalments in any generation… so yeah the only thing that would convince me to buy it would be which mega would be introduced.
MBeedrill was the second mega I wanted the most and usually would be enough to make me buy this game, but I have high hopes my favorite pokémon (Butterfree) is getting a mega in the next instalment.
I already bought X and if MButterfree is in X2, I will buy it as well. If on top of that I buy ORAS... it would be a little too much for me.
If MButterfree was made available now, I would probably by ORAS and pass X2. -
Oh yeah, are we going back to doing Tourneys? It would be cool.

16 chars of So up for that.

I mean, i like pokemón Battling guys and i'm totally up for anything that keeps me from translating poetry (i shouldn't be saying that xD). What do you say?

The logic of IGN in a nutshell.
-
There is never too much rollerblading.
-
So some reviews state it's difficult to make a team in this game. Wonder what they mean with difficult.
-
! After you have finished The League you get to choose a starter from Johto.
-
The guy that totally isn't me reckons the pokenav app is pretty sweet and it's also deeper than what IGN says.
-
Anything IGN says is void of any reasoning.
-
The guy that totally isn't me just captured a Lotad with Teeter Dance. any name Suggestions? I don't know if i will keep it in my team
but i love how goofy he looks.I mean, the guy that totally isn't me said that.
-

Ok, they better datamine this thing better now and find three new mega.

Its a legit complaint… though generally since Surf is a great move it gets taught anyway... and Fly is so usefull it outweighs the move only being okay. But that other stuff is a pain.
@Nekketsu:So some reviews state it's difficult to make a team in this game. Wonder what they mean with difficult.
If the selection is like the original gen 3… then probably making a good varied balance of types and weaknesses. Again, partly due to the massive ammount of water.
Shame I used Heluoptile last time around... his surging and electric moves would make him an utter god in this game.

Have the version exclusives been announced yet, or are the version exclusives the same as the original Ruby and Sapphire?

I'm embarrassed to ask this but what're the regions depicted in the first and third pic.

Sinnoh and Kalos.
-
So i captured a Swellow through the poke nav with refresh (egg move). The problem is that it doesn't learn any attacking moves and the egg moves is switched with the first move you have (Tackle in this case).
-
@The:
Sinnoh and Kalos.
Thanks I'm kind of used to the in game maps not the realistic looking ones.

W-what? Explain this.
-
When you capture a Pokemón with an egg move, the egg move replaces the first move your mon knows. In the case of Swellow it replaced Tackle so it didn't learn a Damaging move until quick attack. Same case with lotad. It only knew Teeter Dance and Growl.

But what level that Swellow is at? Looking at the data dumps, it learns Aerial Ace in level 38.
-
So my favorite region get's an half-assed remake.
Thanks for the middle finger gamefreak. -
Its a legit complaint…
Yeah, almost everyone was complaining about exactly the same thing (lots of water) in here and TPP thread some months ago.
-
Not at all.
The postgame hints at a possible patch/DLC, because…
! * NPCs tell you the Battle Frontier is being built
- Steven quits his position as Champion and Wallace takes over
- Other NPCs tell you new pokemon are reacting to the Mega Stones
Everything contained in the spoiler tag is all but confirmed. Looks like in the end you might still get your wish granted, Prismeru.
Though rather than a DLC, I think these new events will activate at a certain time period programmed in the game.
-
All the known mega stones are available before beating the game? If not, that part could mean just that.
-
@.access:

Before you all get your hopes up, it might just mean something very similar to X and Y - you have like 5 known megas before beating the elite four and then you get the mega ring upgrade and oh new Mega evolutions… but no new ones in the sense of unreleased. Just saying. It's (depressingly) possible.

! Have you played the demo? Certain events would only activate around a certain timeframe. People are speculating this is GF's method to counterattack the leaks.
! All that is known is what I just said in the post above is official. Once you complete the Episode Delta (which is hella long btw) some NPCs start to tell you about the Battle Frontier being built, about new pokemon reacting to the Mega Stones, and Wallace tells you Steven quit being the Champion.
! Basically, all the content of Emerald. And since I know you will demand proof of this, I've got some while I'm waiting for the rest.
-
So… I just saw people saying Rayquaza doesn't need a mega stone to evolve. So he is potentially a mega who can still hold a regular item...

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Nah it say's that is under construction so unless it's time locked, that's them saying "You guys wanted the battle frontier in hoenn well to bad is in the next game because fuck you for buying our game".

Why are you so negative towards anything related to GF.
Anyway, if you have played the demo you would know certain events only activated at certain fixed timeframes. In other words, the Battle Frontier is in the game and will eventually be finished at a certain point, most likely after the game official release. If you are still not convinced, then I suggest you search for the BGM list that got leaked.
Yeah, just in case you didn't get it I will put it short: of course it's time locked, why else would they test this with the demo if not?
Also, some of the meteorites you obtain through the game have the symbol of the Mega Stone carved on the surface: http://i.imgur.com/fMGQNyP.png

I hope these are mega stones for Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile. A leaker pointed out that a scientist hints at more mega stones eventually showing up, so it could be another time locked event.
I'd be happy with just Feraligatr finally getting Sheer Force.

Every time Game Freak has released a remake or a sequel of a previous edition, those have always been better than the originals: Leaf Green, HG/SS, BW2… the Delta Episode, which for the first time ever in a Pokemon game makes an up till now only event legendary available in-game, that alone puts the remakes of ORAS above R/S and Emerald. Add to that the E4 rematch, the eventual Battle Frontier, the insane amount of legendaries you can catch, Regigigas being unlocked after you catch the other 3, soaring the skies on top of Latias or Latios and the fucking via lactea on top of Rayquaza etc. By leaps and bounds Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are superior to its predecessors, and this shouldn't be questioned.
The time locked events aren't also a new thing, Game Freak has been doing that since Gold and Silver.

I don't doubt in the slightest that is indeed gonna be the case. You get to choose one starter from Johto just like they got you to choose one from Kanto in X/Y. It only makes sense that at some point the Mega Stones for these also become available. The only reason you don't receive one much earlier like in X/Y is because you obtain the Mega Stone of your Hoenn starter early at some point in the game.

The mountains do however tend to force the player to use Strength, Rock Smash and Rock Climb a lot. Like, I'm actually playing Platinum these days, and this is the first game where I've seen fit to actually have a HM-slave in my party at all times. And from what I hear, the Sinnoh Victory Road requires no less than five HM-moves to get through… Six if one wants to find all the hidden goodies in it.
But yeah, criticizing Unova's layout for having too many bridges seems a touch random. Actually, one thing I didn't really think about while playing the game but that I realized after having beaten it… HMs were pretty much entirely optional during the main game in Black and White. And that was awesome.

GAAHHHHH!!! WTF IS GOING ON?
![](http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk105/Miranda_Merril/Jared Padalecki/4-ahhh.gif) -
The datamine of the full game doesn't have anything for the Frontier outside of the theme. So either it's DLC, or not there at all.
-

Another reason to love this game.

Time locked. They did the same thing with the demo. Game Freak has also repeated over and over they will never release DLCs.
