Day 28: The outfits they had in Strong World.
One Piece 30 Day Challenge
-
-
Day 28: I actually find both Luffy's jacket he wore on Drum Kingdom and his alabasta robes pretty cool, but I have to agree with Meelow. Strong World outfits were amazing.
-
Day 27: So many…Bink's Sake, Going Merry....
-
Day 28: Doflamingo's outift
-
Day 28: seconding Doflamingo. He's a straight-up pimp.
-
Favourite One Piece Outfit: Strong World Suits. They just work.
-
Day 27: Luffy vs Usopp and Merry's death
Day 28: Luffy's 2nd (?) Film Z outfit!
-
Day 27: Merry's death
Day 28: Those classy Strong World costumes -
Well, time to play catch-up!
Day 1: Either Nico Robin or Zoro
Day 2: Rob Lucci
Day 4: A tie between Spandam, Akainu and the World Nobles because they're all dicks.
Day 5: The Enies Lobby arc
Day 6: Nico Robin
Day 7: Rob Lucci again
Day 13: Hana Hana no mi
Day 16: Kuzan before he retired
Day 19: Rob muthaf*ckin' Lucci again (with Kaku being a close second)!
Day 24: Either Fishman Island or Water 7
Day 25: A toss up between Robin and Hancock
Day 27: A toss up between Robin's past and Ace's death
Day 28: Most of Robin's outfits, especially her Water 7/Enies Lobby outfit and her Robita outfit. However, I also liked those kickass outfits that all the SH wore at the final battle in Strong World! As for non-SH, I also like the suits worn by CP9 as well as the outfits worn by the Admirals. -
Day 28: all Nami's outfits.
-
Day 28: Dressrosa's kinemon costumes (both beards and animals)
-
Day 28: Nami's Pirate outfit
-
Day 28: Crocodile's outfit.
-
Day 28: Robin's W7 outfit, and Usopp's Skypiea outfit.
-
Day 27: Saddest Scene
For me, it's Luffy's breakdown after Ace died. I think it symbolizes how everyone who has ever lost someone close to them would really feel the pain (as if going into a coma from disbelief or shock).
Day 28: Favorite Outfits
I can't choose between the Strong World outfits and Film Z outfits….oohhh.....I choose....Film Z!!
-
Day 28: I'll just save myself the trouble of looking up all the Strawhat's various outfits, and go with the first ones that comes to mind. Those Luffy in Enies Lobby and Nami in Skypiea. Even better than those, though, is Sanji's Water 7 suit. He just looks as dapper as can be in those clothes.
-
Darn, I've been really bad about updating this… But thanks for continuing on with the challenge while I was off being Epoida! X)
Day 26: Eh, I'll just go with Shanks.
Day 27: This is a tough one... I'll get back to it later. Maybe. :ninja:
Day 28: Robin's Skypiea outfit probably, it's pretty.
-
sexiest female: nami (only because of fan service)
sexiest male: me
saddest scene: the first time i cried in one piece was choppers past. its not the saddest scene in my opinion, but it was the first time one piece made me cry.
favorite outfit: i would say nami's but im gonna go with zoro's diquizes in dressrosa. BOTH OF THEM! (the cat and the mustache)
^
Much Swag -
Day 29: I finished rewatching Inuyasha for the 3rd time (watched it fully about 3 times and was on the last episode), and I needed another Anime to watch and I looked up ones and someone did recommened me an anime (that I now forget), but it didn't look intresting, so than I thought of One Piece, I watched a few episodes of it when I was a kid (this was when OP was only on 4kids) and I liked it and didn't notice the horrible voice acting, and I watched the 4kids Opening of it on Youtube because I strangely liked it and than I went to a OP thread on another site and asked if it was a good anime to watch because I was intimidated by the 500+ episodes and like 13 movies.
And they pretty much said "you got to watch it, best anime and don't be intimated by the amount, it is amazing". So than I finished the last Inuyasha episode and waited for the next day to start watching OP since it was late and I was tired, and than I did and loved it since, I watched 10 episodes the first day and I caught up to where everyone is about 4 months ago and watched every movie, and I just can't wait until Dressrosa really gets in gear.
I do want to read the Manga because it is annoying getting spoiled a lot of the times (I know about 731) but I am not a reader.
-
Day 29: I had the unfortunate childhood of watching One Piece dubbed by 4kids, (though I liked it anyway) Fast forward about ten or eleven years later, I wanted to start watching One Piece again, so I watched both the Japanese Version and the Funimation Dub (both are amazing by the way) and I discovered that One Piece is my favourite anime of all time. Now I'm starting to read the manga.
-
Day 28: This is favourite outfits right? There's so many cool ones, Oda's is really good at clothes… Luffy's Alabasta coat, Crocodile's suit, Braham's, Robin's Enise Lobby outfit, Brook pre-timeskip
Day 29: I had heard of One Piece on TV before (not the 4kids dub though, the Odex dub) It was Luffy meeting Coby. I forgot about it over time. After I started to get into manga, One Piece was one of those popular ones, so I started to read it. The slow beginning didn't bother me. I had time. And I read and read, and when I reached Baratie, I thought it was quite good. But when I reached Arlong, I thought it was amazing. -
Day 29: Ha, I've explained this numerous times.
The 4kids dub. That was my first exposure, and I was only 10-11 at the time. And at the time, no I didn't know how much it deviated from the original, in tone/script/etc. I'll admit it hooked me back then; I remember one time my brother and I eagerly awaited for the episode where Luffy defeats Arlong to come on.
-
Why/how did you start watching/reading One Piece? Through the German dub. I think it started around 2003-2004 and for quite a while I followed it whenever more german episodes would come out, there occasionally were breaks, I think one was also between the Water 7 and EL episodes. During that break I didn't really care much about One Piece. I rediscovered it through some of the videos about 4kids on Youtube and resumed to gradually rewatch through the Japanese Version when I felt like it because it felt so odd and jarring to me compared to anime in German, which I was already used to. One day I sort of stumbled into AP's manga section so I decided to check it out. I think it was actually the first manga I had ever read at that point and was really confusing me, so I stuck to the anime for a while. Eventually I just got used to the Japanese version of the anime and used to the manga format, and since then I have started and checked out many other anime and manga, too.
-
Day 29: Started watching the anime when I was really small, starting from the beginning, then I picked up the manga in 2009. I always loved pirates.
-
Day 29: Ah, the reason why I started reading/watching One Piece is because I wanted to give other animes outside of Ghibli films a chance, wanted to give manga in general a chance, remembered the title from an advertisement I heard years ago, happened to see Rhythm Heaven parodies of the series, and I think pirates are cool.
Glad I picked it up. :)
-
Day 29: I watched the 4 kids dub of one piece but i didnt get into it until funimation announced there dub of one piece. After that i marathoned all the episodes on watch op.com and l read the manga last year and i notice how much better the manga was to the anime.
-
day 29: 8 years old, turned on tv saturday morning, new show started airing, here I am.
-
i started watching one piece because i am a HUGE fan of dragon ball, and my friend told me in middle school that since i like dragon ball, i should watch one piece. at first i dint want to because there were sooo many episodes. but then i realized how popular it was so when i first started watching it it thought i would only watch the dubbed episodes so i dont have to watch 500+ episodes of one piece. (back then they were just starting fishman island). but then i really started liking it so after i finished the dubbed episodes i continued with the subs and now im current with the show.
i started reading the manga because i want to continue with one piece since the manga is always ahead of the anime. plus when one piece finally ends, i'll be there! -
Day 28: Film Z uniforms. Dat Usopp stache and beard.
Day 29: My first exposure was the 4 kids dub back when it was airing. (I actually liked it, but that's because I had no idea how different and better the original version was. and then in highschool around 2008, I was hearing that one piece was still going on and heard that it was soooo much better than the PoS 4kids dub. So, in 2011, I finally decided to watch the entire series subbed from start to finish. and now it's one of my favourite pieces of entertainment of all time, and as of right now, have gotten 3 friends into the series. (3 non- anime watchers)

Day 21: vs Don Kreig
Day 22: Carue
Day 23: Moria. the laugh
Day 24: Amazon Lily!
Day 25: Nami
Day 26: Señor Pink (he's hardboiled!)
Day 27: Merry's Funeral & Rumbar Pirate's last song(?).
Day 28: Diamante's outfit
Day 29: 2002-2003 i guess. after re-running yu yu hakusho, dbz, doraemon and flame of recca for a bunch of times a new show was aired on tv. kinda weird at first then they introduced Mihawk cutting a huge ship, luffy vs don kreig and the whole arlong arc and i was hooked. watched it until like mid skypeia arc i think, then i stopped watching anime for years. then officemates of mine were talking about it (they talking about ace dying) i was intrigued rewatch the whole thing again until i catched up to the latest episode and then to the latest chapter. i have been following it weekly ever since. -
Day 29: Saw it when they started airing it on Toonami. I grew up thinking Zoro's name was Zolo, and when I heard people say "Zoro" I thought "Why do so many people get his name wrong?"
-
Day 29
I first got into One Piece when they aired the 4Kids dub on toonami. I didn't drop it because of the dub, but because of Toonami's annoying "We're going to start back from a previous arc next week without telling anyone" (which is the same reason how I got out of Naruto). Years passed, went through puberty, graduated high school, and about 5-6 months back, I got back into Yu-Gi-Oh (watched 5Ds. Terrible mistake). Then I started thinking about the 4Kids opening to One Piece and was rapping it around the house and decided to see what happened to it after all these years. Found out Funimation picked up the dubbing. Instantly ran to it and rewatched it from the beginning. And here I am.
@Medical:
I grew up thinking Zoro's name was Zolo, and when I heard people say "Zoro" I thought "Why do so many people get his name wrong?"
LMFAO OMG that happened to me too. But then I realized later that Zoro's name obviously comes from Zorro lol XD

28. Bartolomeo.
29. My friend. He told me about it, and the way he described it, I never thought that I'd love One Piece more than him, which I do right now. Though I had watched first episode before it, but it didn't attract me. -
Day 30: I love the sense of adventure, who wouldn't want to sail around the world (pretty much) with friends? (you meet along the way), and how One Piece is a very silly anime/manga but has it's very serious moments.
When Ace died, I've never seen an anime character show that much emotion (or the VA pushing for that much emotion).
-
We're starting this so early, it's gotten pushed back before the day's even begun! (Well, for us American folks, anyway.)
Day 29: In all honesty…I can't remember. I started with Naruto in '07, so I'm so sure I heard about One Piece somewhere along the way. Figured I'd start OP a couple months later. Right after I got invested in it (Arlong Park), I lost all interest in Naruto (when he had his reunion/staring contest with Sasuke). Coincidence? I think not.
Day 30: Quite a few reasons. Don't know if I can sum them all up into one (piece). Both the main characters, the side characters are some of the most memorable I've ever seen. The world design is brimming with creativity. The flashbacks are always emotionally gripping. Take your pick on any of these, really.
-
Day 30: Sense of adventure and world-building. The characters certainly have personality; even some of the ones who play a significant/serious role that are viewed as paragons or horrible monsters have some kind of recurring quirk, running gag, or verbal tic. The detail that goes into it, where something completely minor now that most people don't notice or pay attention to becomes a major plot point in a few hundred chapters. The character backstories always draw out the emotions that were intended.
-
Day 30: i love the charicter designs.
-
Day 30: The story really kept me going. There's so much epicness, the flashbacks, the fights, the adventure…

Why do you love One Piece? That's such a tough question. For many reasons, even if some of the aspects might have certain weaknesses, too. Story-wise the twists and foreshadowing of said twists is the highlight for me. Character-wise while there's definitely some visible character development with the main cast, but I think across all the characters the main strength lies in their depth. We get to know many sides of them, get to know their stories. They're all well-explored characters above everything else. The world-building is great because in almost every new arc a new location is explored and given it's own depth. This is an aspect along with bringing in certain twists in the story that keeps the relatively simple formula from going stale. All the explanations about how the locations work and the unique aspects of the world make the world vast and elaborate. Finally, the series has great internal logic and consistency for how long it is. It has most of the time kept to it's rules and it's themes, there is changes in certain aspects, but it's overall feel is still pretty much the same as it always has been.
-
Day 30: It just drew me in… I can't really explain it. The sense of adventure, the moral of friendship and happy moments, while at the same time, the dark, sad emotional back stories and the epic action-packed fights. This truly is the greatest series I have ever come across. Words can't really explain how much I love One Piece. The story is truly a work of art and the artwork, character designs, inspirations, back-stories and well though out twists make it a fun ride to read/watch and even though I joined late, the next 10 or so years left of One Piece is going to be great.
-
Day 29: I watched the German dub as a kid up til Skypiea, then years later I came across a certain AMV and watched the whole series again with subs. I'm reading the manga now too for obvious reasons.
Day 30: I love One Piece because of the story, world building and its characters. I could way in depth here but that would take too long haha.
-
Day 30: Many reasons, its whimsy and sense of adventure, the detailed world-building, etc.
Wow….we've reached the end already?
-
Day 30: Good god. Can anyone really sum that up into one answer? Basically, everything. Story, characters, backstories, everything. Just amazing. Oda, we love you.
-
day 30:I love one piece because it never fails to surprise me.
-
Day 1: Franky
Day 2: Arlong
Day 3: So many great scenes but I've always loved Luffy protecting Dr Hiruluk's flag Day 4: If it's a bad guy who I'm supposed to love to hate then it's got to be Spandam. If it's just a character who I don't like then Shirahoshi.
Day 5: Arlong arc
Day 6: Bellemere
Day 7: Franky
Day 8: Whiskey peak
Day 9: Liked: Ussop's attempts to stop Enel
Disliked: The long drawn out sections of the arc…so half of it. But in all seriousness Enel's so called 'tournament', it was incredibly dull
Day 10: Liked: Ussop Vs Luffy
Disliked: Luffy getting stuck between a building I guess
Day 11: Gold Roger's jolly roger
Day 12: Heracles
Day 13: Buki Buki no mi
Day 14: Luffy, Ace & Sabo flashback
Day 15: Kinemon
Day 16: Garp
Day 17: Eustass Kidd
Day 18: Miss Goldenweek
Day 19: Jabra
Day 20: Boys love Franky girls don't care
Day 21: Luffy Vs Z
Day 22: Hiking bear
Day 23: Tashigi
Day 24: Water 7
Day 25: Domino (Hot damn she's fine )
Day 26: Garp (He's so damn handsome)
Day 27: Robin's dereshi
Day 28: I kinda love Luffy's classic red waistcoat and shorts, Zoro, Kinemon and Luffy's animal disguises gets an honourable mention
Day 29: Boring story, I watched Naruto, then Bleach then I heard the kids liked that there One Piece so I gave it a shot myself, low and behold it was pretty good.
Day 30: I love the combination of action, drama and comedy One Piece has. Even though the series is really long Oda has managed to still keep the light-hearted feel of the series with his silly characters and situations whilst still keeping me invested in the story, springing out some really good surprises every now and then. -
Day 30:
The reason why I love One Piece is because it has developed an amazing way to have a manga/anime that can be both funny and serious which is something I've never seen before. Even though Dragonball Z and Naruto do have their funny moments, they're sorta forced and wouldn't make a difference whether it happened or not that lasts for a brief few seconds and then the rest of the episode is serious.
Whereas, the funny moments in One Piece comes from each of the characters in their own unique ways such as
Chopper's blushing/bashing
Franky's "super!"/crying whenever he hears something touching
Luffy's goofiness
Usopp acting like he's allergic to a place/something he doesn't want to go to/do
Robin's odd humor of imagining ways people can die
Nami's stinginess with money/disciplining the guys when they're acting like idiots
Sanji's desperateness for women/treats guys mean/does fantastic face lifts with his kicks (see Wanze and Duvall for example lol)
Zoro's never-ending lack of direction
Brook's skull jokesOda lets the characters' personalities naturally create the comedic effects instead of how other mangakas have a funny moment happen almost forcibly. But when a serious situation arises, the characters do get as serious as their personality lets them. Other things such as the sense of adventure, the world building, diversity of characters, and backstories are amazing and unique.
Overall, I enjoyed this 30 day challenge. It sucks that it's ending, but there's one more day left in January though. Can't we do a Day 31? Maybe the last question could be "If you could be any One Piece character, who would it be?", or "What is your favorite One Piece ship?" or "What is your favorite One Piece weapon?"
-
Day 30: from the comedy, to the drama, to the emotions, This series does it like no other that I've ever seen. It's simply wonderful. and i'm so glad we still have like 10 years left of it.
-
Day 30: Strangely enough I remember the 4Kids version and ending off in the East blue saga. I picked up from there and was hooked. From the humor, characters, themes or even the battles. There all great and especially because there would be WAY too many things for me to explain in great detail what I like about One Piece.
-
Day 30: I remember a friend talking about it often for years and the 4kids version aired. I decided to watch it finally, I always heard criticism for the drawing style. But that what's made me love more! The story telling and the feeling of emotion it makes me feel is phenomenal. I never thought myself to be emotional until I read one piece. I love the characters backgrounds most! The drawings and islands and everything! The comedy, drama and the whole story.
