Hi. Not that I'm unappreciative, but slapping watermarks all over the scans in conspicuous places is extremely inconsiderate. There is no reason for this.
If you insist on doing that, I'd rather you not scan them at all and let someone else in the world go to the trouble. -

What difference does that make? They're magazine scans and the amount of e-peen over game news has a smaller window of relevance than say, manga scans that've been cleaned and levelled and all that jazz people really make asses of themselves "protecting" from asshole aggregators like NOEZ. Hardly anyone is going to come here to look for the scans, and hardly anyone is going to post here after seeing the URLs (I have an account from years ago).
I hate watermarking in general, but putting it in one place (like a corner) on each scan instead of all over everything is much more polite. If some dick head is going to "steal" the scans and photoshop out the one watermark, they probably would've done it anyway no matter what you try.
So please think before you decide to watermark every little thing, especially in a distracting way. I like JJBA a lot and that's all I came here to say.

I don't mind the water marks too much, it is a little distracting but I understand why you would put them there, I mean you looked high and low for scans and you want a little credit for finding them, or at least not someone else saying they found it and getting all the praise I guess. If you don't like it, in Siliconera they will be posted "clean and pristine" in a few days, so no need to go around and being rude to someone who risk damaging his imported goods for the sake of our colective knowledge.

I apologize on redon's behalf for slightly lowering the quality of a magazine that he personally scanned on his own time from halfway around the world of his own accord for the benefit of anyone who might have been interested in high resolution, just to mark the source of the images (not even to his own name) for information and to prevent people from inevitably stealing his work. It was incredibly selfish of him to ever so slightly besmirch something so clearly vital to your life that you would not have in any form at the moment without him. Incredibly selfish.

There's no reason he should remove the watermark. He does the scans, he can post them in whatever condition he wants, and you can't say crap about it. If you have a problem with it then by all means, go do your own.

I just think water marks are silly no matter what, even when I was translating stuff I didn't care or when I post something. But I understand why others do it, I also don't think people should get so defensive of Redon for people raising a questions or having a bit of a problem with the watermarks, we all love the same thing that is being translated why not enjoy that rather than fighting over a stamp? I mean hardly anyone looks at those things and then decides to visit the site and thank the person who did it. Redon can defend himself anyway, I'm not even attacking him, neither was HystericalGamez, but people on both this site and Saiyan Island keep dissing each other on the other site about stealing, being jerks and whatever over something that does not belong to anyone. Raising a question or valid argument over the water mark does NOT mean I am ungrateful for a scan, but I would much rather have us all enjoy the scan and talk about it than argue over a silly water mark, I mean at this point why don't you all just work together and translate these and pool your info?

There's nothing to argue about: redon scanned it, so if redon wants credit for it he can watermark an image if he wants to.

When did I say he couldn't? I even said I understand why people put the watermarks, like I said you guys don't need to get defensive about it, I even said I am grateful to get the scans at all. That being said I have an opinion and I am entitled to, and my opinion is that watermarks are silly, do nothing really, and don't benefit the uploader nor the people it was scanned for and anyone can still "steal" them. And by argue I mean what went on a page ago, people were arguing over how the huge watermarks were distracting and people were upset over someone who dare have a problem with Redon's watermarks, I mean all he was saying was the huge watermarks was distracting and should either be removed or made smaller and people went on this white knight crusade and were assuming anyone who had a problem with it was ungrateful and should just not look at the scans for info on something they are a big fan of. I just think the watermarks and the arguing with it is silly. Sorry if that bothers you.

Either way thank you for this scan, it fed a lot of starved JJBA fans who wanted news for a while now. I know it must be hard to spend money to by these magazines and take the time and effort to properly scan them only for someone to take it for their own or complain about something, constructive or not, it's not something that I would want to hear if I went through all that trouble. WTF with SaiyanIsland's watermark ?Yeah we do that cause he puts those annoying watermarks up. Kind of like a protesting in a sense. I know in the past redon wasn't offered credit for his work but I'm a new writer on saiyanisland. HystericalGameZ and I are willing to work this out cause honestly this is bullshit.
