1. You have the World Government that basically does what it wants, have the most power in the world, have ordered/committed genocide just to keep people quiet, is actively trying to get the ancient weapons for god knows what since they kill people anyway, have the marines in their back pocket, look down on basically everyone, etc

2. The leader of the Admirals is the one who actually killed Ace himself with his bare hands, hates pirates with a passion, and heck wants to get Luffy himself.

1. Yes and they will get defeated along the way . Not final obstacle for our main character in any way .

2. Which was again the result of Blackbeard . Otherwise the war would have never happen nor Ace or Whitebeard would have died . So again BlackBeard is the one that Oda has developed the most out of anyone to be Luffy's final obstacle to become the pirate king .

I don't know why people want some random characters to be the final villain when Oda has been perfectly setting up more darker and piratey version of our main characters .

Well, he's certainly portrayed in a very positive light, laughing off a bottle smashed on his head and stopping a war while saving a young Marine.

He doesn't forgive those who hurt his friends though, but that's something shared with Luffy. I certainly wouldn't call Luffy an innocent goody two shoes either, just a bit more forgiving.

Whitebeard sort of hinted at that. The revealing of One Piece or the threat of it being unveiled will likely cause all the major players to converge. A free for all of that nature allows for a lot of different threads to to be addressed in that arc.

Makes me wonder what perilous being or obstacle is preventing people from reaching Raftel. If it because the island itself is undiscovered

Edit: nevermind I just remembered that it's not that it's undiscovered it's the fact that getting to it is shrouded in mystery, you can't simply sail to it via a linear/straightforward route. Whitebeard could have been Pirate King if he cared to know this info Roger was offering him. But he just wanted a family so declined. Damn, Whitebeard just has to be such a badass…

Yes that big war will happen and they will be the one of the final antagonists but not final villain / obstacle for Luffy .

How can blackbeard be the final villain, when they will fight each other for the pirate king position, after they get to raftel is will be a much larger and more important scale because of the entire world change, pirate king wont be as important of a fight after that.

The idea that they will just meet up and duel over "ok, winner gets pirate king title" probably isn't going to play out so linearly, in my opinion. One Piece being revealed or the threat of it being revealed is what's going to throw things into war and turmoil, and that's when people can slug it out. I don't think it will be some linear process of "be pirate king–start war".

i think it'll go like this:

when luffy and BB almost reach raftel, WG will send a huge army to stop them.
luffy + BB + their allies vs WG army (the great war)
luffy + BB won and they reach raftel
luffy vs BB in raftel
luffy won and reach the main chamber
shanks is waiting for him and act as the final test for luffy (shanks isnt reallt evil, he is just asked by roger to be a guardian of some sort)
luffy won and become the pirate king and learn the real history.
luffy spread the truth and that's the end of WG
new, better WG and marines is established
etc etc

Why don't they go for the One Piece I mean if they really wanted it they could go for it and fight with another yonko and then they get to move on. I know that WB and Shanks aren't looking for it but why don't Kaido and BM try? Were Shanks and WB acting as guardians over it. I bet you that Shanks could get there pretty easy seeing as he was part of Rogers crew. Obviously BB is going for it but he hasn't made his move yet, which I suspect is gonna be against Shanks in some way.

Theres a small chance that he killed Bellamy, since the last time we saw him Doflamingo said that one more hit would kill him and we haven't seen Bellamy since. But knowing One Piece this probably isn't true, but who knows.. Maybe this could be the first time for character development for Luffy.

Besides those horrible translations are distracting you from the other issues. Their scans look disgusting, really not a good way to enjoy Oda's drawings for the first time. And most of the time they don't stick double pages together.
I understand that new fans still have the One Piece fever that forces them to read the chapter as soon as possible. But I don't get why my senpaïs are still reading Mangapanda every week.
Sure Powermanga takes some time to release the best quality.
But Mangastream isn't so bad and is released the same day as Mangapanda. Their scans are clean and they stick double pages together. They even add notes about the translation from time to time.

About bb final villain or wg. The not so predictable part in this sooo predictable manga was about the supernovas. Depends how big their role is in the manga, people used to be so sure that BB will deal with Shanks that they used it as a fact. Now we have Kidd and cO going for Shanks too.

So whatever BB does to Shanks, he will share the achievement with them. Similar to how BB and Akainu shared Ace.

I hate all the 1v1 talk, but from what I saw at marineford, if WBs goal was to follow Akainu to hell and kill him, he would have.

Marineford is not a good source of information on fighting capability anyways.

But from what we saw in Marineford A) Whitebeard can't casually end Admirals, because he would have done it. Remember that the only time he lands a succesful hit on one is when he attacks from behind using element of surprise, and he fought all three head on.

B) If not for the plot shield the size of Nebraska, that was needed for the rather well executed "This is my era now!" of Blackbeard, Whitebeard would have died the moment he first collapsed, because Akainu would have ripped his head off with Meigo. Which is classic "Character should act this way, but it would ruin the plot, so plot wins" kinda moment, when the guy whose damn motto is "Thorough Justice" has one of the most high profile pirates on his mercy, hits him once, and then buggers of, not even checking if he killed him, to do nothing for just about right amount of time for Ace to be freed.

I love Marineford to death, but everything in that arc is decided by how Oda's plot needs to progress, and nothing else.

And you guys are too hard on poor Sakazuki. What was he supposed to do? Tank the blow that just broke the island in half without flinching, land on his feet, and instantly jump from one falling stone to another to reach solid ground, like Legolas in the last Hobbit? Not only do we mock that kind of stupidity in other manga on daily basis, that would make Sakazuki look so stupidly overpowered that there would be literally no way to ever believably defeat him.

I think, from what have been shown, we can infer them being about equal in strength. This is my opinion, and all I'm going to say on the matter. Move along, please.

I don't think that it's in terms of territories. Doflamingo had territories and all "the Underworld" (weapons, pirates bands, brokers etc..) at his service and he is not "titled" a Yonkou. They do that in terms of POWER and Dangerosity. Only to kill Whitebeard they had to call all the Marines+Admirals+Shikibukai+Blackbeard (coming) that's a lot for one crew. Blackbeard is recruting "the bests" around with the best fruits and also he has an "ex-admiral" by his side and Whitebeard fruit (one of the most dangerous and strongest around) that's why. Luffy will become a Yonkou i think after he beat one that's pure logic. None has ever done that. Only another Yonkou level can do that.

I think, at this point in time, it's to early to say Fujitora is former Admiral. I mean, his declaration at the end of the chapter can be taken both ways.

Personally, I think he values justice and his goals more than Law and Luffy. Disregarding anything else, he did used them as gambling pieces.

What reason would he have to casually end an admiral prior to Marineford? He doesn't operate in a way where he will go attack people weaker than him, rather the weak stupidly pick fights with him and to mine and everyone's knowledge of the story so far no admiral has fought with Whitebeard.

Only hit you say, so the second hit must have been the only hit too when he was facing Whitebeard or are you going to say that was the second only hit now? The whole of Marineford were screaming at him to look behind him, not only did he not have fast reaction times to match this he looked utterly ready to shit himself.

You don't have to say anymore on the matter fanboy, fact of the matter is he got two shot, I've never seen an admiral get two shot like he did. And you understand, that it lasted that long because their abilities negate one another, right? Had it been Akainu vs Kizaru, or Aokiji vs Kizaru, the fight wouldn't have lasted as long.
Aokiji vs Akainu was not a battle which was determined by "who got wrecked" but rather by "who exhausts himself first".
There was also a matter of Jinbei vs Ace, lasting 5 days, which is a similar case. Jimbei uses water, and Ace fire and thus the fight lasted so long.
I see people talking "Admiral/Yonkou/Commander level", and it saddens me to no end.

I see people talking about Kidd's anti-Shanks campaign, as if Kidd's stupid enough to just come to the island where Shanks resides and announce an all-out brawl with one-on-one fights everywhere. Law's plan was to try and weaken Kaido before they even try anything significant against him, why should Kidd prove to be less bright in that regard? And with Killer's wits they could have devised a plan which might not even include a direct confrontation with Shanks himself, for all we know. Let's not make assumptions like "Beckmann will wreck them all", before we actually know anything, ok?

Well said, I'd say Doflamingo was the DEFINITION of a tank. Looking back at the multiple times he fought Law and what he endured against Luffy..if it had been Luffy or Law facing all that, they'd be long dead. But Doflamingo tanked ALL of it until the very final attack. Strength wise, I'd say he was stronger than Law and Luffy, but not by as much as many would think. What really pushed things so much was that Doflamingo could endure alot of attacks and was tough as nails! I'd say Doflamingo is the tankest tank since Whitebeard (with WB being the only one who is comparable.)

That said, allow me to give my two cents-

Sanji isn't strong enough to face them..that's my theory. I don't know for sure yet. What I do know is, the crew as a whole would definitely lose. Otherwise they wouldn't be a Yonko crew for long, as they'd have lost by now to someone else. Nami, Chopper and rook are strong… but nowhere near ready to fight a Yonko crew just yet.

There. that's my 2 cents, though I admit we need more info before I can be sure.

I've often pondered that too. Luffy looks at pirates in a way that romanticizes them and just frankly, isn't accurate to how pirates are. But then, One Piece in general feels prone to that. That said, I don't see Shanks as being the same way. They may have thier moments of being jolly and fun but I'll bet they can be ruthless too. I'd say Shanks isn't a villian though…just not all goody two shoes either.

I very badly want to see more of Shanks and his crew, that's for sure!

I'd hardly call Luffy a good two shoes. Just look at his actions at Impel Down, which as a direct consequence some of the most dangerous criminals ever to be locked away were set free via BB who should have died had it not been for Magellan releasing Shiliew…/.

I think that the hardest thing for Doflamingo to tank were not necessarily all those brutal attacks, but rather all the tension and drama and sadness and anger going on in his mind all his life. From when he was forced to live like an insect after being treated like a god, to losing his mom and then killing his dad, to when he took the pirate life and later on forced to kill his brother after discovering to being betrayed, to then having to face the downfall of his entire family and his empire. With the fear in mind to face the wrath of either Kaido or the Celestial Dragons that also wanted him dead or anyone else involved with his underworld stuff now in chaos.

This whole debate could be solved by just accepting that circumstantial combat stuff is very prevalent in One Piece: Akainu–if you asked me to name the top five powerful characters in One Piece--yeah maybe I don't list him. But who knows? There are other means to power other than pure strength--maybe Kaidou has the most devil fruit users in his army, maybe Big Mom has the most land, etc--there are conditions we are not privy to or even if we are, factor in differently. Blackbeard is probably the final villain, but he is pretty much proof that observable fighting power is not a standard of judgement. If we are talking about pure fighting power? Yeah, Akainu is one of the top dogs, no doubt. His role in the story is obviously elite/end game, but it will likely not be as direct obstacle to Luffy as Marineford presented. (there's your bone, Darth)

(I'm secretly hoping that Fujitora is Mihawk's swordmaster for hype :D. ) Also Sanji's group… Will they get captured and having their trip to Zou derailed? I know Luffy wants to beat all Yonkou, but switching target now can be quite chaotic.

Law's plan was to try and weaken Kaido before they even try anything significant against him, why should Kidd prove to be less bright in that regard? And with Killer's wits they could have devised a plan which might not even include a direct confrontation with Shanks himself, for all we know. Let's not make assumptions like "Beckmann will wreck them all", before we actually know anything, ok?

I think it's more about a hype tool than anything else that Oda uses.

Please stop these power level discussions. Discussing Luffy and Zoro's power in relation to Doflamingo and Law is one thing, discussing Marineford again is just.. don't. Of course Darth had to start it all… again. But people only complain about him while others fall into his trap instead of ignoring him. I'm also guilty of that, a few weeks back. So why don't we go back to discussing all of the good developments that this chapter opened up? Doesn't that sound better?

About Sanji's group... I can't see them being captured, but I also don't see them being able to beat Big Mom's crew on that huge ship. And with Capone's comment on bringing CC back, I'm more inclined to "Sanji and co. gave them some trouble, damaged the ship a little and ran off to Zou and Capone was called in to pursue them. Maybe Capone will be the antagonist next arc? Maybe he is playing a more complex game than simply being allied with Mama? Still very mysterious.

I never got why Fuji attacked Luffy's group after the encounter with Senor, Machvise and Dellinger.
I think maybe Fuji was already planning to use Zoro to simulate a draw. But because of Pica, Zoro disappeared.
So he ended up using Sabo for his little act.

DoFlamingo can't tank attacks? What the hell do you call tanking Luffy's red hawk attack which other than causing him to cough up a little blood, did no real damage, or the fact that even after Luffy smacked him around with Gear 4, he was back up in no time at all. He utterly destroyed Law in every single fight they had and he wasn't even going all out against him to do so.

If you drop to your knees or get sent flying after getting hit, then that's not tanking.

Well said, I'd say Doflamingo was the DEFINITION of a tank. Looking back at the multiple times he fought Law and what he endured against Luffy..if it had been Luffy or Law facing all that, they'd be long dead. But Doflamingo tanked ALL of it until the very final attack. Strength wise, I'd say he was stronger than Law and Luffy, but not by as much as many would think. What really pushed things so much was that Doflamingo could endure alot of attacks and was tough as nails! I'd say Doflamingo is the tankest tank since Whitebeard (with WB being the only one who is comparable.)

A lot of you guys don't know what tanking means.
