Maybe we can play as a Deku, Goron and Zora again.
If it's like other Musou, we can expect 15-20 characters max. So, my guess would be :
I think the game will most likely have only Link as playable, to be honest.
I certainly hope it isn't just Link, that would be kinda lame for this kinda game. Unless we maybe get different playstyles for him or something.
Fierce Diety Link would also be nice.

Probably…would have been better if it was fire emblem.
I really doubt a Musou game made by Omega Force would have only one playable character.
I second the idea of a Fire Emblem Musou after they're done with this one.
Well, the only important characters are Link, Zelda and Ganondorf, the others are lost to the ages, or just change so much between iterations (Fat impa, old impa, the town impa, old ninja impa, ninja impa and maid impa) that just one would be kind of lame.
I'd go with LINKS! (And a couple of Zeldas).
Link
Young Link
Deku Link
Goron Link
Zora Link
Fierce Deity Link
Wolf Link
Bunny Link
Flat Link
Magic Zelda
Pirate Zelda
Armor Ghost Zelda
Ninja Zelda
Sword Pupet Zelda
I think the most important character to be playable is groose.
Why not have it tie into Lorule and add Hilda and Ravio as playable characters? Would make a lot of people who just played a Link Between Worlds interested. Do you think it will be single player only or local and online up to four players?
online would be awesome for this. If they did do something like 20 characters then they should have the previous zelda villains and the important heroes.
So: Link (adult)
Child/toon Link
Midna and wolf link
Fierce Deity Link
Princess Zelda
Shiek
Tetra
Armour zelda?
Ganondorf
Toon Ganondorf
Pig/Classic Ganon
vatti
Veran
Onox
Ghirahim
Demise
Byrne
Yuga
Impa (skyward sword)
Groose
Tingle
There we go. 20. They would probaly make characters really similar to each other though (impa & shiek)

I play plenty of video games. Zelda games just sort of blur together since the original couple and I haven't had a nintendo console the last several game generations. So if the character is newer than like, Ocarina.. no idea.
I'm going to go play Okami now.
Happy mask Shop salesman is the obvious choice for a playable character :ninja:

no robby you need to play the video games that i like not the ones you like im not trying to be mean here but lets face it you need to play better video games
seriously though, you should've at least gotten Ruto, Darunia, and Nabooru. they were all Ocarina, dude.

I think everyone can agree this came completely out of left field. But I am still looking forward to this.
(I actually wasn't sure if this should get it's own thread or not so I compremised and put it here)
Now I'm glad that I just bought a Wii U, because this looks great (not that there aren't any other good existing/upcoming titles on the system).

Were those the sages? Why would I remember those names 15 years later without any major fond memories of the game?
Rock guy and fish princess, I can vaguely recall. But not by name. I remember the horse is Epona, but thats about it.
My Zelda (and nintendo for that matter) affinity pretty much ends at the SNES. I owned an n64 but those sequels, regardless of their given improvements, were never as good to me as the SNES ones. Mario, Starfox, Zelda, Mario Kart… eh. None of the sequels ave anywhere near as fond a place in my heart or sheer number of hours played as the originals.
Not even Star Fox 64!?
Not even Star Fox 64!?
I got a sega saturn, and then a playstation, and had those for several years before I got an N64… so I got my N64 VERY late, so not only had I had a few more years to be attached to the originals from the NES/SNES (not to mention those were my childhood while the N64 was late teens) but I'd also gotten used to later era Saturn/Playstation games... that had worked out the kinks in 3D camera... while a lot of the early 3D games just had weird camera and positioning problems (largely putting the camera too close to the lead and making it hard to see around you or having sparse areas as a result)... which is most of the acclaimed N64 library. Everyone else got used to those things at the time when they were new and takes it for granted thats just how those games work, but it was hard for me when they were old and out of date and I had a decade of instincts built into their predecessors.
I played original Starfox sooooo much (I could literally get perfect on the first stage with my eyes closed!) that I couldn't ever adjust to the changes in 64. They were improvements for the better, I'm sure... and I couldn't even tell you now what they were now ,but I just never adjusted to them. I think it was stuff like the the tank, or the full terrain boss battles or the loop de loops or whatnot. Stuff where, if you went from Star Fox in 1993 o Star Fox 64 in 1997, you'd be fine. But going from Star Fox in 1993 (when you're 11 and can play it dozens of times for hundreds of hours) to Star Fox 64 in 2002... (when you're 20 and can play it a couple times for a few total hours...) not so good.
For the most part I know I'm the odd man out for not caring for the N64 and beyond iterations of franchise games.. but I didn't grow up on them and came to them after they were already outdated and I had a lifetime with the originals. (Oddly, many of those games are now on the 3ds with updated graphics and camera and things fixed and I kind of want to try them again... for the first time.)
...Though Mario Kart 64 is definitively not as good as the original. It ditched the feather and the course design wasn't nearly as good.
You should try A Link Between Worlds. I've just finished it and it's awesome.
I plan to get that actually. Also plan to get the Ocarina remake and give that another shot. Eventually.

Damn Robby I feel for you man.
Ginchiyo Tachibana and Muneshige Tachibana have been revealed for SW4
New, and rather flamboyant, Samurai Warriors 4 character revealed is Koshosho. Motochika, Ieyasu Tokugawa, and Hanzo Hattori are also revealed.
BUMP
Shin Gundam Musou is coming stateside.
But for now only on the PS3 and only digitally.
Excellent. I've been waiting on that announcement.
I'm fine with digital only. Means they'll half the price after just a couple months, and it'll be immediatley accessible on my drive like Orochi and OP2.

This game alone is enough to make me get a Wii U. Well, that and Bayonetta 2. Won't be happening before Christmas though by which time both games should be out in Europe.
The trailer of this one looked like so much fun.

Oh, they are gonna cripple link's character development by making him a psychological mess?
Wait, he doesn't speak. How would that work?
Hell yeah! Its Impa!

Samus didn't speak either. Guess this means Link is going to get high heels as well.

Nope. Sakamoto handled everything from the dialogue, the story, the localization, and the gameplay. Team ninja even questioned him about the awkward control scheme and he wouldn't budge.

! The magazine introduces Link, Impa, Shia, and some of her minions.
! Location includes Hyrule Field
! Interview with the three people above. Says there's some unexpected playable characters.
Playable Impa is cool but expected, I'll start getting hyped when Groose is announced.
I just want Ganondorf so I can mow down hundreds of enemies while screaming this:
It would be glorious.
So, bumping up my list:
This Link
Toon Link
Zora Link
Goron Link
Fierce Deity Link
Deku Link
Bunny Link
Wolf Link
(Spoiler) Link
Zelda
Phantom Zelda
Pirate Zelda
Ninja Zelda
Evil Zelda
Ganon with Giant Knives
Gannondorf the king of thieves
Gannondorf the evil wizard
Ganon with his goddamned trident
You know, this is the kind of game that this kind of roster wouldn't make me mad.
And Tingle there and it's perfect.
:silly:
i kind of like aounma's comments on the number of characters and how some are unexpected. Kind of hoping for some obscure heroes like kafei. Or at least just the sages from OoT and maybe 2 from AlBw
A good amount of playable characters? That's all I needed to hear.
I'm officially really hyped for this.
!
Guy on the left is named "Varuga", which could be meant as "Valga". Looks to me like Volvagia in human form or something.
And on the left, "Wizuro", almost certainly "Wizzro", as in Wizzrobe. Though looks a little like a Poe.
If they're taking classic enemies and re-working them into humanoid characters, I'm down with that.
Since the Link in this game look like the one in the Skyward Sword manga prequel, they could go with this origin story and add backstory to some monsters like Volvagia, which could be quite cool as fan-service. Otherwise, I'm not fond of the character designs (a little too musou-like for me I think) but they work fine for a game like this.
I'm starting to think that most of playable cast besides Impa and the Triforce trio will be original characters.
I'm not going as far as to believe the supposed "leak" I saw somewhere else (with Samus, Pit and Takamaru as guests) but I think it would be an interesting direction. For example, we could have the seven sages representing the different races being playable.

been waiting for a next gen DW/SW game (this wasn't quite what I had in mind but it's close enough)
Been waiting on an english release of that for the PS3. (And for it to carry over my save file from Orochi 3) Though I guess the next gen systems are the reason for the wait…? Fall eh. Meh.
And for Gundam Reborn to launch in 2 months so that it can then go down in price by fall.
Since Koei's digital releases always plummet in price a couple months later.
