Well, at least I can forgive this chapter's bad aspects in exchange for answering my questions from last chapter. I kinda lost it when I saw the colored page of Charle coughing up blood in one of additional pages. I mean, what the hell? The artist must really hate her lmao.

Still, I have my share of complaint. I always thought that MP (not Mangapanda, mind you) was like life force for wizards. I just can't swallow it that Chelia, completely being robbed off her magic power, actually survives and only brought down to regular human. In different scenario, it should've killed her instead. At the same time, I can't completely deny it as exception either due to "Anything Goes" nature of FT's magic workings.

he cannot kill mavis even if he wanted to that is why he said he would kill the guild mates if she did not tell him.

And thanks to the cheap plot device holiday the enemies come one by one, because otherwise Lucy might have an actual contribution to the overall outcome (aside from the spirit rescue to which she herself contributed nothing but owning the key) and there could emerge some kind of tension.

But hey, I'm sooo heated up to see Natsu fight against random guy of the enemies who are so much more powerful than anything beforehand.

Don't forgot she was naked in there with happy and natsu so she got to touch natsu while he was sleeping that is the reason he likely woke up so soon which ended up saving her ass lol.

Yeah, being naked was completely pointless for the story progression. Though, it was funny so I'm okay with it.

Or are there some rules established for traveling with Celestial Spirits? Like when you travel with higher ranked spirits you'lllose your clothes and partially take their form (like the mermaid change in case of Aquarius), but in case of lower ranking ones you'll only use clothes?

So, by now Lucy doesn't even get a chance to fight anymore? I mean, we all knew Natsu would wake up to save her, but 3 pages after her doing something and the fight not even having started? Meh.

Alright.

So we go from what seems to be a decent if not bridge style Fairy Tail chapter, to everything that is wrong with this series in about 19 pages. Up to and including.

"Members" of the guild cheering for stuff while they do jack shit.
Lucy stripped naked.
Lucy about to take part in a fight.
Natsu stepping in and most likely take over said fight, because fuck, who wants OTHER characters right?

What a bunch of ass scum.

Ooooh, so it's like Marin's spatial magic but literally flashier. Going with Jacob's assassin logic, everyone in FTverse might as well be one because they have potential to use their own magic stealthily but choose not to because it's not necessary. Just obliterate anything in sight including eyewitnesses, call it "assassination" and you're done. Come to think of it, Marin's spatial magic even comes with perk that prevent others from performing similar magic arond him. Wouldn't that make him better spatial magic user and assassin than Jacob?

By the way, Natsu, Gray and Lucy's portrayals on the Musical Drama thing are spot-on. I wonder if Gray's actor gonna be topless for the entire show lol.

To be fair, the relative danger was still there even if she's immortal. She's not immune to pain itself and could only take so much punishment before she breaks. It could work only if you care that much about Mavis and don't want to see her harmed to that point. However, Natsu's presence assures that it won't happen. Now, if only we could see Natsu failing again…

Also, Natsu's counter-speech which mentions that Lucy would still be Lucy even if only her head that remained creeps me to no end. Maybe bad choice of words either from translators or Mashima himself.

:ninja: I think that's asking too much when "Lucy" and "naked" are both variables that must be present in one equation. It's only the nakedness' percentage that changes throughout the series.

What exactly is preventing the Assassin from doing the exact same thing he did to the rest of the guild? Just do that movement with his hands and Natsus gone right?

Guess it's some kind of restriction. Maybe he can only do it once and needs some time to recharge his power. Or he would bring back the others whenever he'd use it a second time. Whatever, being a great assassin and master of discretion, he probably will tell us next chapter.

I call that progress in the right direction from Mashima. Lucy is useful and this guy still lives after receiving several blows. Wasn't that what we wanted?

Maybe?! Hopefully this will be the end of the clusterfuck of a main story! Some more character-driven stuff? Sure, I like the characters… But just finish the overall story!

Actually, Jacob may be a funny character, but he would have worked way better as a one-shot character the way in which he is portrayed here.

So the Assassin used an ability which he had no real reason to use, because it inevitably backfired on him. Seriously wtf.

To me it seemed like Mashima wanted to have a practical use for Lucy being naked in a fight and this is what he came out with.

Assassin guy only has weak punches and a whip which is obviously not going to mean anything to his opponents.

Still need to know why he doesnt vanish their existence.

The only decent thing about this chapter was the villain isn't a glass cannon. But I think its obvious hes going down next chapter. I wouldnt even be surprised if he goes down to the same power level of an attack and the one he just tanked in this chapter
