I don't see the point in destroying the smile factory near Dressrosa when no more SAD can be produced. It seems unnecessary.

It's necessary. Hundreds of smiles are still being manufactured there. Even if SAD is no more they still have to make sure Kaidou will receive no more artificial deil fruits.

It does makes sense. There has to be more than one SAD tanker and they can be loaded up, plus whatever SAD is already at Dressrosa waiting to be used to create more Smiles.
It makes no sense to destroy the sourse and think its all of the SAD that there is. A good tactician takes out the source (SAD) and teh processing plant (at Dressrosa) when they want to take out a weapons production operation.

-Why did Kinemon say "we" at first but quickly revise his pronoun to "I"? Who doesn't he want to mention?
-Any bets on the captive "comrade" of Kinemon's? Wife? Another samurai?
-It can't be coincidence that Momo was kidnapped away to PH while another Wano person was taken away to the closely-related Dressrosa. But how are the incidents connected? Does Momo's Dofla hallucination point to him originally being on Dressrosa too?
-Law's "Green Bit" definitely seems like misdirection, but Smoker isn't talking. Such a clever ploy by Law can't possibly go unused, but who's going to squeal?
-Last chapter, Dofla's "sky road" was "interrupted," and then he immediately found the raft. This chapter, we see that he continued flying undeterred straight to PH while carrying his underlings' heads. !?!?
-Where's Tashigi?
-How is Law planning to get Nami to navigate to Dressrosa if they're not following the log pose? And why not go the straight route?
-Law didn't elaborate on the "risk" of the artificial fruits… Perhaps something to do with the method Caesar used to de-fruitify Smiley? Feed Kaidou's army a bunch of mystery candies and maybe their powers will pop out and merge with nearby produce?
-Where's Law's crew!? The theory that Caesar had them captive is clearly out the window. Maybe Kaidou has them? Or Kaidou killed them?

We may have ourselves a Django Unchained meets Taken type of scenario going on. My bet is that either..

1) Kinnemon did something he wasn't suppose to be doing when he was Wano.
or 2) Wano for whatever reason, are trying to get rid of the Samurai.
or 3) There may be some sort of family feud.

Whatever the reason, Kinnemon's family is paying the price

Yeah, the thing is, the way Law describes it, it seems impossible for them to actually reach Kaido. They would need something to get him moving. Caesar could be one factor, but imagine if 100 of his underlings consumed a poisoned batch of devil fruits? That'd put Kaido up against Doflamingo.

What a chapter! Time for some random thoughts.

Kinda confused about what's going on with Caribou's cover story, what's up with this Granny spotlight?
It's interesting that Vegapunk was smart enough to make suits to withstand Caesar's gas/petrification. And that one specially designed suit for Brownbeard. Awesome.
Doffy has CoC. Not really a surprise, but it's quite the reveal. We also get to see actual strings now, so that's a bit more confirmation of it ability.
Cocky Smoker gets owned once again….Both him and Doflamingo aren't having the best of days..
Didn't really need the explanation about how Franky got Mini-Merry from the other side as it was kind of obvious. But that hair!! I love him more and more every chapter now.
I'm getting the impression that Green Bitt is an island and Dressrosa is a place on it, or visa versa. Or Law is one smart mofo.
Kinemon and Momo basically having the same end goal as everyone else is a tad fishy, but I'm just glad they're sticking around. His reactions to everything this chapter is just priceless.
Law seems to only like physical contact from Bepo…He's gotten two warnings now about Luffy's definition of alliance for obvious reasons, but i get the feeling he's gonna be the one who gets saved by it.
Zoro and Luffy actually paying attention while Brook plays the old man dozing off was a nice touch.
All the while Usopp works on Nami's Cima-tact. Awesome little details. I wonder what she asked for.
Luffy's amazement to the artificial fruits/having an army of 500 fruit users made me laugh quite a bit.

I think she personally took the kids on the tanker while Smoker stayed behind for get the remaining men and wait for the ship that was sent for them.
Also, the best bet is that they're captured, or very badly wounded somewhere recovering.

You read my mind. I was wondering if it was his wife, but when he said 'comrade' I thought maybe antoher samurai.

Wasn't itsaid he wandered/snuck on the ship collecting kids? the guards had no idea he was there until that girl mentioned him. But why would Momonsuke go wandering off for a grown man? It would make sense if Momonsuke was searching for his mom.
Then there is Kinemon and not saying anything in front of the SHs.
Kinemon had no trouble mentioning his son in front of them, so why would he say 'comrade' instead of 'wife'? Well Law is there and maybe he doesnt' trust Law - the guy DID cut him up! - so he would be worried about a wife's welfare more than a warrior's so Kinemon doesn't want to say its his wife

I think that Smiley 'ate' a real DF, not a Smile so the process may be different.
For that many Smile zoans, I think they do not last after the current user, no 'return to fruit'. So it would be important to maintain a supply of the SAD to create more SMILEs

I think 500 smiles is more than the list of DFs the Marines has - forgot where but it was mentioned ….
aha it was in an early SBS vol 4. That was some time ago so the ammount may have changedd but Oda "more than a hundred". Still thats far less than 500.

I really like this theory. I doubt that Law is going to betray Luffy, but it would certainly be interesting to see just how far this Alliance will go (at least, from Law's POV. We already know that Luffy thinks of Law as a friend, so of course Luffy's gonna do everything to help.)

After Momo's official appearance and small flashback, i got under the impression that he deliberately snuck onto the ship to PH, confirmed by him (in your translation he mentions that he stowed away aboard a ship) and the goons who didn't have him on the lists of abducted children. Maybe he got aboard that ship to ultimately travel to Dressrosa via PH, the islands being so close in distance and buisiness, to do something for the someone Kinemon mentioned…? Mmmmm, the plot moistens!

Also about the theory thing. I completely agree with everything you added. Luffy already said "It's like being friends right?" about the alliance, and we already know how far he'll go to help friends. So, If something happend to Law's crew and that's why he's targeting Kaidou/Doflamingo..I feel sorry for them..

The end of every arc, especially of recent, seems to work like some stage play where everything just happens conveniently. I don't get it.
Also, there was something about this chapter that felt very rushed. It could be just the scans but the art didn't blow me away like usual. Although this chapter did cover a lot, every week break Oda takes is a battering to the anime.

I think the explanation of the retrieval of Mini Merry was only put in there so that fans didn't complain about consistency. There has been A LOT of complaints about that from Japanese readers recently (check Amazon.jp reviews).

Could anyone clear up how Franky got to the shore of Punk Hazard when he was away from the rest of the crew?
