Silly question, sorry if it's been done before? but is Hina her mother? i always had that distinct feeling that Hina and Tashigi were related :-S
Tashigi

yup, moving on… :P
problem is, i have questions and curiosities (can you spell it like that?) and so where's a better place to come to and get though dealt with?
-
… and Smoker is her father... joking :P
Apart from that, no I don't think there are blood relationships between them. -
it was a huge reach, but theirs definately something there, even in her mannerisms, they were rather strange but at the saem time too casual to be 'nothing'.
-
I didn't pick up anything between them, except for what seemed like Tashigi being intimidated by a superior officer.
-
there was no salute of nothing, everyone salutes a superior officer.
-
The whole siutation felt very informal, though.
I seriously believe you are reading into the meeting too much.

probably i've done so before

Hina offended! Hina is merely 32 years young, how can Hina have a daughter aged 21? -

I second that jackvance.
-
ROTFLMAO… XD Well, that has to be the strangest thing I've heard today.
aaanyways....no, I don't really think that Hina-Jou is Tashigi's mother. 0__o;
-
Yeah, Hina is Tashigi's mother. In fact, she went to the same hospital as Robin did to have Luffy, when they were both eleven years old. (By the way, if people are going to take this the completely wrong way, [/sarcasm].)
-
easy. she got pregnant when she was 11.
wow, that must've been one helluva early puberty.
-
@e1n:

Or not, girls hit pubery usually around that time…..
Moving on...
What meeting are you even talking about? She was present when Tashigi and Smoker had their little True Justice thing..... but thats all. -
Nope…Actually, Kuina never really died...
She just faked her death so that Zoro would really( as in really) be determined to take the #1 swordsman spot...Or maybe, Kuina hit her head and left her father because she just wanted to be alone and wander...But even with amnesia, she hasnt forgot about swords...Tash said those same things to ZOro coz she is Kuina....She just forgot...And found her way to Logue town, where she found Smoker....
-
Yeah, she got amnesia and completely changed her personality. Sorry, not buying it. Amnesia doesn't do that. >_>
Maybe there's some connection between Tashigi and Kuina, it's certainly possible, but I don't buy this "they're the same person" thing people keep bringing up. It completely undermines one of the driving elements of her feud with Zoro: the fact that he keeps comparing her with his dead friend when she's her own person.
Besides, why in the world would a 12-year-old girl who'd just redoubled her efforts to persue her dream suddenly decide to fake her own death for no reason? It makes no sense at all. Plus, there's already a thread about this subject somewhere else.
Zephos– I believe that meeting is the one they were referring to, yes.
-
Perhaps Kuina/Tashigi (assuming she IS the same person) wanted an out from the constant harassment from Zoro in the past. She fakes her death and starts anew with the Marine. After ten years of disuse, she's lost her elegance with a blade.
Bevin: "Amnesia doesn't do that"…. scientifically, yes, but soap opera amnesia does it all the time. I could see, in more plausible issues, perhaps Tashigi's Kuina's slightly older or even twin sister.
-

Then this thread is extra ridiculous, they havn't even talked yet.
This is Naruto fandom territory…..maybe worse:wacko: -
There's already a thread for the Tashigi/Kuina thing. If that's what people want to talk about, post in that one.
http://ap.animemedia.org/showthread.php?t=2196
I'd suggest re-reading it first, though; it seems to me that everything that needed to be said on the subject was already said. I don't see the point of re-hashing it. It's not a theory that holds any water to me, it cheapens both Zoro's backstory and Kuina and Tashigi's characters and I don't see how it's necessary to Oda's story. But if people want to talk about it, do it in there.
Edit: Oops. Linked the wrong thread. Pardonez mois.
-
I thought that Tashigi was supposed to be Smoker's daughter at first. Man, let's just be glad that 4Kids didn't turn her into Kuina.
-
Well, I dont care…There still might be a connection...Faking death sounds good to me...
Well, wasnt it said that Kuina was 2 years older than Zoro?
Zoro's 19.
Tash is 21.
Makes sense, noh?
-
Ok could Tashigi be Hina's sister?
-
Uh…..no. I don't think so. I think you're better off trying to link her to Robin.
-
can't tashigi just be her own person? why does she have to have a relation to another character or BE another character? (kuina) why dont people go around saying things like, hey could usopp and sanji be cousins?
and KUINA IS DEAD. THERE WAS A GRAVE GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS. SHES NOT TASHIGI. I THINK ZORO WOULD KNOW IF SHE REALLY DIED HE PROBABLY SAW HER CORPSE OR SOMETHING. AND WH WOULD KUINA WANT ZORO TO TRY HARDER WHEN SHE ALSO WANTED TO BE THE WORLDS GREATEST SWORDSMAN.
if anyone wants to argue with me do it in the tashigi/kuina thingy.
-
There was no grave in the manga. Just a lying body with a cloth on the face…...
Pell.

please don't belittle the thread like that i've given the reference as to why the question arose, it's not like i'm picking random straw's outta the hat, i stated her relationship with Hina seemed tense but informal, too informal to be collegues in something like the marines.
-
You have given no evidence whatsoever.
You've only speculated random things from two characters who havn't had more than one scene in the vicinity of eachother, let alone even had a word between eachother.
