Its Manga lol, there's no logic in manga. Oda-senseis imagination is the logic. So he can bend the rules in the manga and give a reason that will make sense to back it up. So anything can happen in the manga really, it just depends on how or when it will happen. Like @Monkey King mentioned, before it was stated that nobody has ever eaten two devil fruits and if somebody even tried it, they die. This can be said to be a general or definite rule or logic in the OP universe. Then comes blackbeard, he has both the yami-yami no mi and the gura-gura no mi. And the reason? I believe marco said it has to do with his body or something. That just blew the other logic of eating two devil fruits outta the water. Anything can happen in One Piece.

Not so: he did NOT eat 2 devil fruits.
He ate the yami-yami no mi and absorbed (??) Whitebeard's gura-gura no mi. Nobody has, that we know of, eaten 2 devil fruits so "that logic's still there" :D

I think eating and having two devil fruits are one in the same. Blackbeard was only able to handle cuz of hi said body composition or structure or whatever. But marco did explain the reason he can handle 2 devil fruits.

Don't think so.
Remember when Jimbe explained Blackbeard was now one of the yonkou and said the blackbeard pirates had a way to take devil fruits from others? Assuming this ability comes from Blackbeard's fruit, then he can do to other devil fruit users what he did with Whitebeard to himself (a 3rd one??) or to others from his crew.

I do remember that, I also think there's a high chance that its due to his yami yami no mi. That's why he is able to steal devil fruit powers. As for him searching for more it might as well be he wants all his crew mates to become devil fruit users or he wants them to himself. Knowing blackbeard it might as well be the latter. But its One piece. As I said before logic does not really apply much when it comes to these type of things. But I'm still sticking with marcos theory in the manga.

So, you think all the devil fruit user have the possibility to be able to swim in the sea?

So, you think all the devil fruit user have the possibility to be able to swim in the sea?
We have already seen what happens when a devil fruit user enters water or touches a sea stone several time. But have you ever seen a person eating two devil fruits? No you haven't. But a person wielding 2 devil fruit powers? Yes you do. So if its an argument you're presenting, its not a really strong one. And if its just a simple question, then no, devil fruit users cannot swim in the sea. But who knows, I'm not oda. If he wanted he can make them swim in the sea, but for now let's just leave it as they cannot swim in the sea.

But you said anything can happen, it's a manga after all. Maybe we can have Luffy (or any df user) equipped with something made from sea stone (sea stone ring?) and will not affect him…

That makes no sense. Oda could do whatever the fuck he wanted and just pull some bullshit reason out of his ass to justify it and everyone would accept it.

Really enjoyed reading this thread. Although the bumbling idiots who fail to realize that these are just only theories–therefore, people shouldn't be fighting or getting pissed over things that aren't and haven't been officially confirmed in the manga--I'm 70% towards believing this theory (only because we don't know what Oda may pull 10 years from now). Not everything in the theory may go exactly in the way that Oda will bring the story, but the theory sounds like something Oda would construct.
I also wish that people would actually try to retain most of all of the information provided in the theories so that they can stop bringing up questions that were answered in the theories as well as learn to use their brain to analyze further any of the other theories.
For example: The whining about it wouldn't be fun traveling the Grand Line anymore if the Seas reunite. Would it kill them to think that even if the seas were reunited, how long would the current state of some of these islands change after One Piece? Let's use Little Garden. Little Garden is an island that has retained its prehistoric state. If the seas reuniting were to get rid of the Grand Line/Calm Belt, then of course, that would also cause Little Garden to experience a change as well. However, does that mean that Little Garden will all of a sudden evolve to a more modern island a week after the Red Line is destroyed? Hell no. The Grand Line has given many of these islands abnormalities and may be restored to their normal state (before the Red Line appeared) eventually, but it will take a large amount of time before these islands (who have endured the weirdness of the Grand Line for hundreds of years) become normal.
Now after reading the entire 36 pages, I have begun formulating what I believe could be true (again, this is what I, for myself, think might be true. I don't expect for people to agree with me):
–-Luffy/Dragon, Ace/Roger, Blackbeard (Teach), Rouge, and Saul are descendants from whoever people the "D" originated from. Hence, that's the reason why although they all share "D" in their names, other than the families (like Luffy/Dragon, and Ace/Roger/Rouge) they're not related to each other as some of us sorta speculated early during the series.
---Gol D. Roger knows the truth behind the "D" and knows about the history of his people. Hence, the reason why he married Portgas D. Rouge. I'm pretty sure out of all the women we've seen from numerous different locations in One Piece, Roger didn't marry Rouge with the immature reason of "I have a 'D' in my name, you have a 'D' in your name. Let's get married." Additionally, after his journey ended, he started a family and could've fallen in love with any other women other than Rouge. Roger intended for his will to be passed down originally to Ace; unfortunately, Roger doesn't know that Ace grew up only to hate his guts.
---Roger told Whitebeard what he learned about the history of the people with the "D" in their name. When Ace told Whitebeard that he's Roger's son, Whitebeard may have thought that Ace is to carry Roger's will which is why he was so hell-bent on saving Ace at Marineford because Ace was the one to carry out Roger's will other than the fact that Ace is one of WB's "sons". Although WB has other "sons" as well, I think Ace is one of the few that are more closer to WB (another one being Marco) and WB also was close to Roger (though as rivals) as well.
---The World Government had involvement in the war 800 years ago.
---That JoyBoy being from Joyoboyo and how its other name, Jayabaya, contains Jaya, Jaya is the ancient kingdom and JoyBoy used to be the king/ruler over it.
My Theories
---I think the Straw Hats will visit at least one more Sky Island before One Piece is over.
---Due to the connotation, Uranus might be someone or something that is inhabiting on a Sky Island.
---Raftel might be a sky island. If Roger (+his crew) was one of the few humans (another being Noland) to reach Skypeia 22-26 years ago, then it's not a coincidence that he's also the only person to reach Raftel.
---One statement about how the poneglyphs were in the opposite direction of where the ancient weapons were located really struck me as odd (such as the poneglyph on Skypeia hinted to Poseidon being in the sea) which leads me to believe that the poneglyph or one of the poneglyphs containing the whereabouts of Uranus might be in Water 7 underwater (where the old buildings of Water 7 are at before the new Water 7 was built on top of the old Water 7's roofs).
---I think the ancient weapons are supposed to blow up the Mariejois/Fishman Island. That's the only way I see Sharley's prediction coming true. Also, by doing this, it will fulfill 6 of the current Straw Hat's goals (which is what makes them achieving their dream suitable as the ending). The only one's being left out is Chopper (who wants to be able to cure every disease in the world) and Usopp (who wants to be a brave warrior).
--The Celestial Dragons might be descendants of Space Pirates, hence the space suits which indicates that the World Govt may have originally be descendants of space pirates. The only time we see space suits in a pirate-themed manga is only when a Celestial Dragon shows up. However, because there six moons in One Piece, the ancestors of the Celestial Dragons are not the ones from the space pirates that Enel met. Which means that each of the six moons have different species and different space pirates. Perhaps, they're so bent on getting rid of pirates because they're ashamed of what their ancestors did as space pirates?
---I highly believe that all of the Straw Hats are going to go through a development where they are all willing to fight their asses off (including the weak tier SHs). I would be pissed off if Oda was to present the weak tier SHs as wanting to run away from the final battle. I think something will happen where it will greatly make Nami and Usopp stop cowering and begin kicking asses.
---Which brings me to my next theory. One of the Straw Hats is going to die during the final battle and the one that dies may be Usopp. Throughout the series, he's always running away from death, but during the final war, he might end up sacrificing his life for Luffy's safety which would show great character development of Usopp this time running towards death. If Oda's ending continues to write after everything's settle down after the final battle, perhaps we might even see a kid telling a story about "the great Captain Usopp" which would tie in well with Usopp's dream to be a brave warrior as brave warriors always have tales written about them after their deaths (which NGL, would make me cry buckets of tears if that were to happen).
–-Also, I agree with the other people that Shirahoshi will use Poseidon's power to command the Sea Kings to use Noah to evacuate the inhabitants of Fishmen Island up to shore and they will takeover the area above where Marijois formerly was. It makes sense for them to rename that place as the "All Blue" since that's the ONLY spot where fishes from each corner of the One Piece world will be able to swim together and with Shirahoshi having control over sea kings and the merfolks being able to control fishes, they would be able to keep those violent fishes in check.
Sorry for my wall of writing. Again, this is all theory and some of what I personally think. I know there are people who don't agree with my theory and I'm fine with that, but I won't tolerate disrespectful jerkwads who act like dicks about it.

I go with this idea as well, which is why I think there will be the second timeskip near the end of One Piece.

Best theory ever

Luffy will get the same disease that Roger got and Chopper will manage to cure him and save him managing to outdo Crocus and Kureha.
That's another thing that I think we can consider more or less set in stone just as Zoro fighting Shiryu. -

That's another thing that I think we can consider more or less set in stone just as Zoro fighting Shiryu. You know, even though people always assume Luffy will get the same disease Roger got and die at the end, you're the only one that has proposed that Chopper will cure him and that's would make (for my theory above) all the Straw Hats' dreams come true because for me, I didn't know how would Chopper possibly make his dream come true while everyone else's are coming true at the end of the manga other than to keep studying medicine.
But really like your theory :D

It's quite a popular theory since Shabondy.

All blue being there makes more sense than having All Blue magically appearing after destroying Mariejoa/Fishman Island. If One Piece/Raftel appears to be under/in/above Reverse Mountain (which appears to forms a cross similar to a treasure's map) and we know how odd this mountain is, well then All blue should be there as well. That would make a great mystery arc for sure.
Also:
@popkorn:–-That JoyBoy being from Joyoboyo and how its other name, Jayabaya, contains Jaya, Jaya is the ancient kingdom and JoyBoy used to be the king/ruler over it.
The WG would destroy a whole island (Ohara) for the simple reason that a few people knew about the Ancient Kingdom's name but they wouldn't destroy the Ancient Kingdom (Jaya) entirely? Also, Maynard didn't catch Teach. While JoyBoy might have been a king like Jayabaya, it does not mean that Jaya was the Ancient Kingdom, at all.

I knew that Luffy getting the same disease as Roger was a very popular theory, but I've rarely seen someone say that Chopper will cure Luffy's disease until I saw your comment, so that's what caught my attention.
But Ohara was issued a Buster Call because they've been reading the poneglyphs. I'm sure the World Government knows that the only way they were able to find out the name of the ancient kingdom is through reading the poneglyphs. The manga never mentioned that they destroyed the island or land the ancient kingdom was on. After the war, the World Government only wanted to get rid of historical texts, records, and documents about the ancient kingdom. which means there might be descendants of the survivors (perhaps these survivors of the ancient kingdom were people with "D" in their name) who have no idea about their ancestor's history since it was forbidden to read the poneglyphs.
Not to mention, but Jaya is also speculated to be a reference to Java in Indonesia and the story of Jayabaya is an Indonesian tale as well (with Joyoboyo being Javanese for Jayabaya).
All in all, it's all up to whatever Odasu decides, so he can hurry up and quench our curiosities about the end of One Piece lol
-
Not to mention, but Jaya is also speculated to be a reference to Java in Indonesia and the story of Jayabaya is an Indonesian tale as well (with Joyoboyo being Javanese for Jayabaya).
Jaya is clearly modeled after an old Carribbean pirate port, with the Skypiea aspect modeled after American Indians (mostly Aztec and Maya).
-
I'm not fond on any theory about Jaya = Ancient Kingdom.
World Government knows where AK is and they would have sent some Cypher Pol after Noland if he went to research stuff in Jaya.
When Noland was around the Oharans were still alive, so it's possible that LOADS of other people could read the poneyglyph at Noland's time. Also, yeah, what MK says, Jaya is not modelled after Java at all.
Still I think it's crystal clear that Jaya is one of the main colonies of AK, like Alabasta, Water 7 and…Dressrosa.
I'm sure a Poneyglyph that is crucial for the void century story is somewhere in Water 7, flooded and unaccessible.
I have said that Dressrosa has a poneyglyph since the Mugiwara landed on the Island, and the Tontattas+Noland+Donquixotte family reveals only made this idea more real.Also...just a thing that popped up in my mind in this moment.
Can someone retrieve an image of Noland's sword?
I can't remember it at all, but I was thinking that it would be totally Oda if Shanks wields Noland's sword. -

While Oda could have swapped the appearence settings (Central America instead of Indonesian), it seems a bit of a stretch to me.

I really hope this is the ending cause it sounds so epic man.. :|

The manga never mentioned that they destroyed the island or land the ancient kingdom was on.
Huh? the Ancient Kingdom being completely destroyed is the most known information that we have about the AK, it was specified by Clover. Have in mind that Ancient weapons were probably being used during the war and the amount of destruction had to be huge. It's a popular theory to say that the whole Grand Line was caused by this war: the magnetic field, chaotic weather, Calm Belt but also the fact that "Grand Line" as its name says, forms a "Line" which is all but natural for a sea. Especially when it's surrounded by a Calm Belt with Sea Kings.
Not to mention, but Jaya is also speculated to be a reference to Java in Indonesia and the story of Jayabaya is an Indonesian tale as well (with Joyoboyo being Javanese for Jayabaya).
Oda uses a lot of references in his story, from Fairy Tales to famous personalities and civilizations, but he never copy/paste them. As I said, Joy Boy may have been the king of the Ancient Kingdom like Joyoboyo, I can buy it. After all he is the only known confirmed character from the Void century and he seems to be very important. But Jaya being the AK? It doesn't make sense and that's using the reference too far.
-

GardenYay, dinosaurs, Vivi's line, I know all that. It can easily be explained with climate change. It's totally possible that Grand Line was caused by some chaotic event, and it should be. The existence of Grandline in itself is one of the main mystery of this story. Why does Grand Line's islands have so many minerals that it affect the magnetic fields? Why is it surrounded by Calm Belt? Why does it form an imaginary line that runs across the world? I'm expecting this to be explained at the end of One Piece along with the creation of the Devil fruits.
-
Yay, dinosaurs, Vivi's line, I know all that. It can easily be explained with climate change.
How does climate change explain an uber-isolated environment and single island climate that would otherwise be disturbed by people and so forth….of a prehistoric (to quote Kureha, this aint Dragonball with dinosaurs casually walking around modern times) world? If that isolation and singular climate was only provided to it a mere 800 years ago.
Do you know what was 800 years ago irl? The Mongols and their initial rampage for one. Not pre-historic times lol.

huh? I'm not the poster but could you explain?

If that isolation and singular climate was only provided to it a mere 800 years ago.
Let's say that once Grand Line appeared with a BANG (and I can't think of any other thing than the use of Ancient weapons), climate went wild and changed all over the sea and we know how chaotic it is right now. Little Garden got a perfect habitat for dinosaurs and unbereable for humans. Therefore 800 years ago, 1000 years ago or 2000 years ago when Grand Line appeared, Dinosaurs started to appear on Little Garden.
Now if I follow your logic, nothing changed on Little Garden and Dinosaurs are there since millions of years. Which would means that Grand Line is how it is right now since millions of years therefore the Grand Line's mysteries would not be explained.
-
Are you saying Dinosaurs are things that just pop up in the right environments, like fungus?
And why exactly does the mysteries of the Grand line need explanation. Why can't it just be a wild area with zany climates?
-
Therefore 800 years ago, 1000 years ago or 2000 years ago when Grand Line appeared, Dinosaurs started to appear on Little Garden.
The Blank Century happened 800 years ago. The war that you mentioned as causing the existence of the Grand Line.
And dinosaurs started to appear?? The fuck lol.
Have you never taken a natural history course in your life? That makes no sense at all.
Even in a 2000 year time frame that's completely crazy. You're saying that dinosaurs, plants, and bugs exactly like pre-historic One Piece's (and irl) dinosaurs (Nami and everyone knew what they were, and Kureha too)…..evolved out of the ether in 2000 years maximum....800 years minimum.
That's absolutely insane. -
@The:
And why exactly does the mysteries of the Grand line need explanation.
Yay why? I wonder.
-
2000 years ago the first Roman emperor died. Once again I don't think you really grasp the numbers your theoretical ideas reflect.
-

That's absolutely insane.Thats pretty much what I'm saying, and nope, that's not insane at all. Of course it is when you apply our world logic and physics, but hey? It's a manga with futurists islands and talking robots.
-
We haven't been informed that new species can randomly and abruptly appear in One Piece World, on the contrary it seems like evolution in One Piece world works roughly similar to others, apart from being more bombastic. It seems, that little garden was isolated from rest of the world way before than 800 years.
Futuristic islands and talking robots have nothing to do with this, as they are products of human (or alien) culture, not natural state, like island with endemic dinosaurs.
Unless you try to to argue, that whoever "made" Grand Line planted there archaic flora and dinosaurs and even insects. But than you would need to give a reason why that person had done that, which was not an easy task. Or that dinosaurs were common before Grand Line had been made and went extinct after that surviving only on little garden, but that would required huge data manipulation, as records of dinosaurs would have been present from times before dark century. -
Thats pretty much what I'm saying, and nope, that's not insane at all. Of course it is when you apply our world logic and physics, but hey? It's a manga with futurists islands and talking robots.
It's insane mostly not because it's nonsensical but because it's stupid.
-
It must be Dr.Vegapunk failed attempt to recreate prehistoric park …
-
the only plot hole would be that roger dindt know how to decipher phoneglyphs…
-
@Monkey:
It's insane mostly not because it's nonsensical but because it's stupid.
How surprising coming from you. Anyway it's pretty simple, either you think that Grand Line is natural thus existing for millions years and Grand Line is the way it is for no specific reasons, or Grand Line is unnatural and was accidentally or intentionally made thus being much more recent on the timeline.
-
Well we know for sure that Alabasta Kingdom existed before Void century, as well as Shandora on Jaya and Dressrosa, and save Shandora it doesn't seem like mayor crisis of civilisation occurred in those places in times when Grand Line was supposedly created. Which is strong hint that no major environmental shift happened at that times. And by now we know that, just like in our world, environmental changes affect culture and society. It's just highly unlikely, that such changes as creation of Grand Line Wouldn't affect those places.
Now, it may be that changes were either more subtle, or that for some reason those informations have'y been presented in the story yet, but I personally don't think it's very likely. -

Presumably there's some specific reasons, impossible to speculate on for the most part.
All of which is infinitely more plausible than what you're suggesting which is just plain stupid.
One Piece is not not not chaos. Oda's crazy stuff has a sci-fi like explanation, the clouds that can carry people and islands, the robot island, all these things. Christ it even seems like he's intent on giving the devil fruits some sort of psuedo-scientific explanation if scientists are replicating their powers and allowing them to infuse in inanimate objects. The ONLY plausible explanation possible for Dinosaurs sprouting out of nowhere within 800 years without it being stupid would be as knceng suggested, a Jurassic Park experiment by Vegapunk. Too bad then that Dorry and Brogy were already on the island since 100 years ago.
You're being murdered by Occam's Razor.
-
Dunno why I'm being reminded of Merveille, in which creatures evolved in a short period of time by eating IQ. Not necessarily has anything to do with this discussion. Carry on, hee hee. ^.^
-
@Monkey:

All of which is infinitely more plausible than what you're suggesting which is just plain stupid.I'm suggesting that Grand Line was made by the use of Ancient weapons. Now if you have a more plausible suggestion as to why Oda would explain how Grand Line appeared millions years ago (following your logic), feel free to post it. By the way_,_ in the world of One Piece you can fly to the moon without any spacesuit and with the help of simple balloons. If that does not sound "plain stupid", I don't know what it is. Our world # One Piece world.
-
Again: Why does the Grand Line NEED explaining? Theres nothing indicating that it wasn't just…natural.
You might as well ask for an explanation on where Fishmen came from. Its just part of the OP world.
-
Grand Line is the oddest part of One Piece and you don't expect it to be explained?
You may as well ask why the Devil Fruits should be explained? People were wondering why the people in the sky had wings and we got an explanation. As for the Fishmen, Oda might come with another stuff. After all he just introduced the giants experimentations from the WG that happened "long ago". Sky island was explained, toys, shadows in the sky, zombies and so on.
