Just grabbed volume 60 at Nobles. Which was awesome because I had no idea it was out yet, I thought it was coming out in early February for some reason. I was jumping up and down like a crazy person. Awesome.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

So they extended my subscription by an issue because of the missing issue.
THANKS VIZ. IT'S NOT LIKE THEY'RE ENDING THE PRINT PUBLICATION ANY TIME SOON OR SOMETHING.
Also I have no idea when my subscription is supposed to end either way.

I think it's very telling when "One Piece" made it back to the list when the latest volume of "Bleach" didn't.
-
I got the February Issue, the time skip color spread is on the back of the cover page of the magazine and the first page which is your usual paper quality for the colored glossy pages they always use. the second color spread is in that same paper, looks nice but I wish they done it so you can cut it out and post it on your wall. Also a big One Piece Art red box on the top left.

This was reported on the last page ha ha.

Ahh…I'm stupid, I saw someone asking for scans so I figured no one had reported it yet. Should have read more than this page before posting.

I was thinking the same thing

Tite Kubo should've stopped when Aizen died, now he's just killing substance instead of characters.

Still haven't got a verification e-mail.Seems like you've got the same problem I had in the beginning. Shoot them an email at sjalpha@viz.com, and tell them that you haven't received it. They'll help you out. Otherwise you should have gotten it by now.

Here's the FAQ: http://sj.viz.com/WeeklySJ
@FrankyCoke:Picked up both volume 60 and Color Walk 2 at my B&N today.
B&N is not anywhere close to where I live. So I'm gonna have to order Vol. 60 and Color Walk 2 on amazon. And I guess I'll see if my import store Time Travelers has Color Walk 1 in Japanese. Better than not having it at all.
-
Just wondering, those three-in-ones that Viz puts out, are they like the VizBigs with color pages and the like, or are they just three Tankonbons?
-
They're no VizBigs. They're closer to three volumes put together and printed on paper that's toilet paper grade.

Starting a FB campaign/petition to get Shonen Jump Alpha for the UK by form of digital distribution. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
-
I wish you the best of luck, I hope you are telling Viz UK about this though and not Viz US….

Mine ended in July/August of 2011.. so its weird i got the 3 volumes when my magazine subscription ended months earlier O.o

The $4 digital sale is still going on. If it lasts until volume 63 comes out, which I haven't ordered in print yet, I might just buy a digital version and see the difference for myself.

Is the paper better than the individual volumes?
-
Is the paper better than the individual volumes?
No, it's the same. Having such thick books, of simple paperback quality, will greatly diminish their quality over time. Luckily manga books are usually thin enough so that won't happen. And vizbig volumes have a hard enough spine.

The sale ends January 8th, so volume 63 and maybe 64 should be out by then…
-
Is the paper better than the individual volumes?
It's about the same as the Shonen Jump magazine, so it's noticeably thinner than the volumes.
-
Well I bought Color Walk 2, noticed the top of the cover of my Color Walk 1 has become discolored, and can't find any place selling SHonen Jump other than B&N, but they already had replaced the January issue with the Februrary issue. I JUST WANT TO READ THESE IN ORDER, AUGH.
Also, why is the "JUMP" in "SHONEN JUMP" red now?
-

The logo changes color every issue.
On another note, my import store doesn't have Color Walk 1 in stock anymore either. Not even the Japanese version. Maybe I can find something online.

Both, since Viz UK and US are both part of Shuesha

No, I meant on Color Walk 2. It's red. Just the JUMP. It's somewhat annoying.

Are you serious?
Well now I'm more annoyed that the alpha sign up website doesn't explain how long your subscription will be if you have exactly six months left on your subscription after the April 2012 issue. There's more than six months and less than six months. And by six months do they mean actual calender months or issues? If it's issues, do the double issues count as one month then?
ALL OF THIS DETERMINES IF A ONE ISSUE EXTENSION TO THE NON-EXISTENT DECEMBER 2012 ISSUE IS ACTUALLY WORTH ANYTHING. UNLESS I AM AWFUL AT COUNTING.
-
If your subscription lasts longer than the LAST ISSUE, you can get Alpha for one year. It's not rocket science.
-

UP TO One Year. There's a division at less than six months (You get six months of alpha) and more than six months (You get a year of alpha).
From http://sj.viz.com/WeeklySJ
If I am a subscriber, how long will I get Weekly SHONEN JUMP Alpha?
Subscribers with more than 6 months remaining on their subscription as of the April 2012 issue will convert to a 12-month membership of Weekly SHONEN JUMP Alpha. Those with less than 6 months remaining as of the April 2012 issue convert to a 6-month digital membership.

If you have more questions then I'm sure they'd be willing to help you out with the email address I posted a page or maybe two back.

I read the new magazine in Barnes & Noble today, and it was really nice seeing those spreads on photo paper. They even had the ''flaming soccer'' one on regular paper too.
And because I recall it coming up, in Vol. 60 when Ivankov is showing Sanji the wanted posters, ''Sogeking'' from the magazine has been changed to ''the king of snipers.''

Wow, I just checked the top 100 best-selling manga list on Amazon and at this time "One Piece" #60 is number one, right above "Naruto" #53

It begins…
Can I actually go and pick up volume 60 now and Color Walk 2? I am so out of the loop. I gotta sign up for Alpha as well, when is it's first issue coming out? Thanks in advance.
-
Wow things are really coming together 0_o I just got an Ipad like three weeks before alpha arrives. Dam, lately I've just been reading free chapters until I'm able to buy some and they look magnificent.
Edit: Alpha's out January 30

That is bitching sweet!!
-
I honestly believe that sales for "One Piece" have are starting to really go up in North America because of the newer material coming out.
-
I also just got 59 and 60 together. One thing I have against the print versions is the amount of smudging from the printers in these and past volumes; the digital versions at least avoid that issue. Really, I should just start a pros and cons list and see where I end up, because there's plenty wrong and right on both sides.
-
Just picked up 60 and color walk 2!
I gave 3 people at least the first 2 or 3 volumes as presents this year. They are hooked and almost out of the east blue now. I figure if we want friends to actually jump in, get them a volume or 2 and just maybe they will continue on. Makes a great cheap present.

That's interesting since the manga industry in general in North America has been declining since 2007. I guess One Piece just has staying power.

Question for you guys. Is Color Walk 2 worth it? I would like to have it, but at the same time, there is a ton of other manga books I want to buy. Is this a book I'm just going to look at once and it's going to sit on my shelf? I know the art books have a bunch of the color pages in them, but can you tell me the range of color pages it has(what era was this? Skypiea?)? How many color pages are there? Is the print quality good? Sorry for all the questions, but my local book store doesn't have it, so I have to order it and can't exactly see it face to face to see if I like it or not.

I got it Tuesday, it comes with a postcard, and the range between color pages is roughly between the end of the Arlong arc through the very beginning of Alabasta. The interview included is between Oda and Fujio Fujiko, author of Doraemon. It's pretty good stuff, but if you're saving money for some actual manga with a story, I'd say go for something you'll likely read again and again. Color Walk 2 isn't really worth more than a manga story. It's just something to have really.
-
Picked up the latest Shone Jump magazine.
This probably the last time we'll see Luffy on the cover before the final issue.
Seeing all of the color spreads in ACTUAL COLOR almost brought a tear to my eye. -
Just wanted to let Canadians know:
Chapters has Color Walk 2 in stock for 16.60CAD
http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/books/One-Piece-Color-Walk-Art-Eiichiro-Oda/9781421541136-item.html?ikwid=one+piece+color+walk&ikwsec=Home
The $5 coupon at Chapters, OLDEC11, still works.

the total just has to come to $25 before the coupon to get the free shipping. Also sign up for dealguild and get cashback, I don't remember what the exact percentage was but dealguild is fast, takes about a month and sends the payment directly to your paypal.
