Ahh, played and beaten that game, didn't remember him.
I'm guessing Sly will get all his other Thieves in Time ancestors as unlockable skins.

stream for all stars from evo should start anytime now.
character announce trailer, more at SDCC.
So Toro and Heihachi are in.
They'll probably announce Jak at Comic Con next week with another character.
Probably a 3th party character.
Heihachi
Toro
I dunno Cole seems like a logical fit for comic con.
Some Heihachi vs Toro gameplay with some stage info.
Whats the point of having breakeable walls, if you're going to be restrained by invisible ones anyway?
A real killer for me is that the stages look really uninteresting so far. Battle Royale so far seems equivalent to people playing final destination with no weapons, I.e. the most boring way to play. Completely devoid of the chaos that is SSBs' charm.
Yeah, i'm not to happy about the stages either. They do seem kind of small, hopefully some larger stages will get announced later.
I do like the looks of some stages like Hades and Jak stage, but i just wish there was more to it.
Here are some video's about SuperBot panel about EVO.
And it looks like they're trying hard to NOT be Smash. (not sure if that's a good thing).
The 3th video is probably the most interesting, it shows the combo's and a bit of the story mode.

So, you can't go outside the bounds of the stage. So, there are NO ring-outs. So, the only way to defeat another character is with your super-move, which can only be used if you're constantly active. First of all, this is the ultimate camping killer, which may be a good thing, but… Putting so much dependency on a single move? Really, Sony? Is there confirmation that each character only has one super-move? Not to mention, this will make aerial and off-stage fighting much less viable, if the stages are really as confined as they seem in the current build. Also... All the characters seem to have the same weight? WTF?
Would be nice if some of the items also award kills.

IIRC in the e3 Demo there were 3 Super Moves. A few hits gave you 1 which was a kinda weak one or you could charge it for an Ultimate one.

Checkout those last videos i posted. Alot is explained there.
The whole team of SuperBot consists of fighting game veterans and big-name fighting game developers (a few of them are actually hardcore Smash players)
So i doubt they don't know what they're doing.

Yep.. has been for a long time
"If you're fans of PLAYSTATION, the final boss will make a lot of sense."
Mario or Master Chief, calling it now.

And watch Nintendo or Microsoft get sue happy? Doubt it.
The real final boss will be Sony themselves. The game will have a special way of knowing if you bought it 2nd hand or not. And to beat the final boss itself you need to redownload the game (at Sony's premium price) onto a PSP Go and beat him that way.
The 77 million stolen accounts.
lol it'll be the guy who hacked them. And phrases such as 'THIS GUY STOPPED YOU FROM PLAYING COD!' will flash up on the screen
The gameplay does seem a bit disappointing.
The thing that always made SSB fun for me was the amount of possible ways you could kill an opponent. I don't have the patience to learn things like combos, so I've always fought by feel and Smash Bros catered to that. When I first realized how effective of a tactic edge guarding is, I had a blast. My friends called it unfair at first, but they soon found ways to get around it, and I soon found ways to counter their dodging. And then, just when we have things figured out, the game blows us up in some esoteric way and we all have a laugh.
When I look at the PASB gameplay, it just seems so linear. All you can do is build special and dodge to prevent opponents from building special or hitting you with theirs. Granted that there is still a lot of strategy and skill involved in that, too, it really misses that "a-ha!" moment you get from pulling off something unexpectedly devastating or hilarious. There is only one way for any points to be gained. Specials. That's going to severely kill the replay value.
The final boss will be a giant enemy crab.

This. I really hope that they reconsider their decision. I understand why they want to avoid ring-outs, but I feel like they misunderstood why the SSB system is superb. It's not because you CAN knock a character off the stage, but because you can do so with ANY COMBINATION of moves and tactics. Which also encourages edge-guarding and aerial play, something that seems impossible in a game where the stages are enclosed and every character has the same weight.
Instead of using moves because they have a chance to KO your opponent, in PASB, you'll want to use combos that keep your opponent from accruing AP, while you rack it up. And what does this encourage? Comboing moves that have the longest hitstun. And do you know what the devs have said? There will be NO hitstun scaling in PASB. It's like they're TRYING to kill replay value. The only good thing about this is that they killed camping as well.
Apart from gameplay, something else I can't shake off about this game is that there's no feeling to it. For example, Nintendo has always been so intensely focused on the music of its games and in Smash Bros. that really payed off. Music-wise, Brawl and Melee were atop the pinnacle of gaming. I would play hours upon hours on the Fountain of Dreams solely because the music just fit a fighting game so well.
This game for it's main music just seems to have random beats and electronic sounds. I feel that is a tremendous weakness that just goes to show that when it comes to building a moment or an experience Playstation is still lacking.
Could it be fixed? Heck yes! To this day I still remember the Crash Bandicoot themes, and I'm sure other series also have memorable tracks. But the fact the game so far is just sticking with the simple electronic beats and stuff just comes to show me they're not placing any emphasis on music, and that's one disappointment among many that makes me still I won't see this anywhere as high as I see the smash series.

Yeah. It looks like a bunch of guys that love fighting games other than Smash Bros. trying to make a Smash Bros. game.
I really want to be psyched for this game, and I have no complaints about Sony trying to mimick a strong Nintendo game. But I'm really not feeling it.

I heard the next Smash will let you send in-game messages. But it will take 30 min. before those message are shown, because all the messages first have to get checked for bad/inaproriate words.
To send the messages, you'll first have to measure your heart rate with the vitality sensor, and shake the remote 3 times. Because that's what being inovative is all about ;)

That's probably just demo music. In the EVO panel the creators said that every stage will get some kind of mix of 2 game OSTs.
I admit i'd also prefer Nintendo music, but that's mainly because i grew up on the NES, SNES and N64.
So most of those music tracks are pretty much nostalgia for me. And Nintendo is pretty much master at creating awesome game OSTs.
The Music is one the main Reasons i still play Melee and Brawl.
Anyways, personally this game is all about the fan-service for me. And the potential for awesome 3th party characters.
I even love MUGEN with all it's flaws, only because of those cool character mash-ups.
Just give me some cool characters and give me alot of stuff to unlock, and i'll be happy.
Besides this game, may offer some cool features Smash doesn't have, which can be added to Smash later.
..and this is probably one of the few games my girlfriend will actually consider playing..
Atleast he had the balls to admit it
Atleast he had the balls to admit it
They did actually say that in multiple interviews..
4 hints for the comic-con character reveal
Pic #4 could be Solid Snake. Invert the picture horizontally and vertically. It clearly shows “LE” and “LO” as in LA LE LI LO LU. As in, the Patriots
Any idea's?
Actually it's 4 hints in general not just for the CC reveal. Most of the speculation is pic 1 is crash, 2 is ratchet and clank, 3 is little big planet and 4 is snake. Other than the 4th picture the others could be anything lol
i still don't get the snake one but i can see how the other 3 can be them
i still don't get the snake one but i can see how the other 3 can be them
Some bullets are arranged as "Le Lo" as in "La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo" from the series. The Patriots used Nanomachines to manipulate people into calling the that when someone tried to talk about them.
I don't get the others, though. Crash and R&C are apparently because of the colors? But what about the LBP one?
Probably because of the little and big gun. Yellow and Silver could hint towards Cloud and Sephiroth.
So was watching this video today:
!For some reason, the gameplay in the background was more exciting to me than anything I've seen in a while. The scrum at around the 1:00 mark actually looked appropriately chaotic, and is it just me or are the characters trying to avoid OOBs around the 1:50 mark?
Cole and Jak+Daxter are the two announced today at CC.
Not much of a suprise.
Spyro and Crash may not be there thanks to Activision. Chan Park basically said it takes two to tango when trying to get certain characters. Around 48:00 mark. Full panel but I'll wait if gamespot puts a direct feed up the fans are kinda annoying to listen to lol
You know what? I wouldn't mind this. It would be hilarious but I'm pretty sure it won't happen.
Pretty sure (well, somewhat sure) that they probably were just being funny and decided to give the question a stupid answer. Although it would have been awesome IF Super Mario was the final boss.
Also, I'm of the opinion that no Crash Bandicoot in this game will disappoint way too many people from Sony's older fanbase. Those of us who grew up with the idea that Crash was to sony as Mario was to Nintendo.
To this day I weep about the fact Naughty Dog abandoned the Crash franchise after CTR. It just was never the same after that.
If they weren't in, they would've probably already let us know. Spyro and Crash are by far the most wanted characters.
Means very little if Activision isn't willing to play ball.
If you didn't see the con video watch this clip, it was the video that was shown to sony to get it greenlite. The uncharted/warhawk level must be in this game!
Also Sony wanted ND to make it in the beginning but they declined as they were already making Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us

It goes much deeper than that. Read the bottom part of the page…basically universal went crazy after ND didn't want to renew contracts with them.
Ramsay: By 1998, Crash Bandicoot was an iconic trilogy that defined the PlayStation, but the three-project deal had ended. I assume that Naughty Dog had to vacate the premises soon after?
Rubin: Naughty Dog made the decision to not renew its deal with Universal Interactive. By the time that Crash 3 rolled around, Universal's role had shrunk to nothing. Sony was financing and publishing the games, and additionally providing valuable worldwide production advice. Mark Cerny, who started at Universal and was a large contributor to Crash's success, had become an independent contractor and continued to work with us. And, of course, Naughty Dog was doing the heavy lifting of developing the titles. Universal was simply being paid for the intellectual property rights.Andy and I decided that we were not willing to split the developers' share of revenue with an entity which was contributing nothing to the mix, which was extremely difficult to work with, and which was actively trying to take credit for Crash's success. So, we announced that we were not renewing our contract and we were leaving the lot after Crash 3. At that point, Universal Interactive's management lost their minds.
We were forced to develop Crash 3 in the hallways of their offices. Although they still had a contract to give us office space, they decided to make our lives as miserable as possible. We were under extreme deadlines for a Christmas release, so we couldn't move the team in the middle of the project. We had to stay in those hallways until the game was done. Naughty Dog was working 16- to 20-hour days that year with no weekends. To make matters worse, Universal refused to pay for the air conditioning in their offices, and thus their hallways, after hours. Los Angeles summers, especially in the San Fernando Valley, are extremely hot. At night, and especially during the weekend, the heat on the thirty-fourth floor passed 100 degrees. This is not an exaggeration. We had to buy thermometers and measure the temperature constantly because the heat was affecting more than our comfort. Our servers were going down because the internal temperatures of the hard drives were going over 130 degrees. And the building wouldn't let us bring in portable airconditioning units, so we were forced to cool the servers by blowing air over a bucket of ice with a fan. That solved the problem until we managed to disguise an air-conditioning unit as a mini-refrigerator and sneak it in.I could tell endless tales of Universal Interactive's spite and contractual misbehavior that year, but that's all history. They tried to break us. They couldn't. Although we all worked shirtless at desks in hallways that year, we got Crash 3 done. To put all of this in perspective, Crash 3 was guaranteed to make Universal hundreds of millions of dollars in profit. Yet, as a company, they didn't have the decency to accept our decision as independents to chart our own destiny. And they were vindictive enough to risk their financial windfall had their nonsense caused us to fail. If Universal had been more humane and reasonable, it is possible that Naughty Dog would still be making Crash products today.
The day Crash 3 was finished, Naughty Dog moved off the Universal lot and started work on a kart game. We didn't have characters attached then. The first versions had nondescript block-headed kart riders. Our relationship with Sony was always incredibly close. We offered to make the game based on Crash characters, if they dealt with Universal and obtained the rights. At that point, Naughty Dog couldn't even speak to Universal's management they were so… apoplectic. Sony managed to do so, and thus our first title after leaving Universal was a final Crash product: Crash Team Racing.
There is also the possibility they were actually talking about characters like Sora and Cloud.
Anyway.. that Uncharted level looks awesome!
The beta is out for psplus users…in hong kong :(
Jep, it's to test out the online.
Kevin Butler tweet quoted for awesome;
Fans: thanks for suggesting me as the final boss in #PSAllStarsBattleRoyale. But research shows you like a game you can actually beat.
I have the beta =) it's pre E3 build. From what I read even with that people are loving it. I've only played 2 matches both as Radec…he's fun but he's ranged so I need to get used to him.
Neogaf members seem to be having a blast playing this game.
But how did you get it?
Same as them. Make Hong Kong PSN account and buy a HK psn card for 30 days of psplus then download.Couldn't help myself >.< lol
If you dont mind asking.. How much does that cost?
And how good is the beta? Is it fun?
Yeah it's fun, sometimes won't connect, freezing and glitches. beta type stuff. cost like 15 dollars. i'm sure beta will go to us psplus and eu soon but they haven't announced anything yet. also no lag at all. you can add me on psn, might be able to game share. psn is Jechtsphere
Got my hands on the Beta.
It's full of strange glitches and bugs.
And it does take a while to get use to, probably because i was playing this game with Smash in mind.
But once you get use to it, it really is loads of fun.
So how does the "only supers kill" thing work out? Is the entirety of the rest of the moves pointless, and is there any way not to get insta-killed on a level 3? How are the items. and stage interactivity?
I honestly haven't played a smash since the first or second so I hardly remember it so I can't really compare it lol, yeah earlier on yesterday it was hard to get in a game and had a bunch of glitches mostly involving level 3's but it seems to be cleaned up mostly. It's fun trying to avoid supers, when you do it's pretty sweet…I avoided Fat Princesses level 2 chicken twice but it got me the third time...so close lol.
I've been trying to learn all Kratos moves, Sly too is good, he is quick.
