Japanese money? It doesn't have anything to do with Japanese money. It only has to do with Megahouse producing less figures than how many people are will to buy. They lose on profit & add up the stress to their customers.
And AmiAmi REALLY needs to move on another server. Really.

That baffles me too…the last time i manage to get any POP from amiami is when Perona and SW Shanks are up for preorder.

They are not interested to make a large stock because they are interested only in local market, and the stock they made for that is enough (items going on sites as Amiami are made for internal market non for outside).

Make us think they are rare, and u should buy NOW! Dont wait.Even with character that u dont want, this method will push u buy that figure too.

Well after the amiami dead refresh facepalming session I had while it worked for others, I got mine at HLJ. Thank's for the stress as always Megahouse!

They produce a standard stock for japanese market, and another for foreign market. Amiami, Hlj, Otacute & co. take their items on the japanese market that are not intended to go outside Japan. This stock is enough for Japan, the trouble are outside buyers.
Every other consideration is pure fiction. -

I also recall crease saying he had difficulty getting the Luffy and Ace Marineford ones.

What surprised me was my local resellers could get a quota of 12 Pre-orders for each figures (Aokiji and Rayleigh) even before the Japanese stores put up their pre-order. I wonder how he managed to get that. He surely got them at discounted price.

I can easily get the international version here but they cost a bit more (even with custom + shipping from Japan).
There should be no difference between both versions but you can re-sell the Japan version at a higher price. Just look what Madarake wants for older POPs. ^^

I believe it's just the color/placement of the TOEI sticker, or the other various stickers from other countries importing (Abysse for Europe, Funimation for US, etc)

This was probably the least stressful preorder I've had. frozen was just like, "i can order for you, send me your info" and i did and it was done in 2 seconds. I missed the stress and trying to get my order to go through completely. I swear with Perona I almost started shaking from nervousness, as I saw she went up on the Japanese site minutes before the international one.
So… I think everyone and their brother in Japan must want POPs. They sell out so fast, especially when megahouse tells you exactly when you can get them. Amiami has the stiffest competition I feel because they are the biggest hobby shop, and have the best discounting. There are international versions that are much easier to obtain at any number of shops in the USA, I just choose not to get them. I like not waiting and the discounts too much. I'd pay $20-30 more at LEAST if I got them in the USA, and then I'd be waiting a few months for them to be available. No thanks. Plus I've come to the harsh realization that I might not want to keep all of these figures forever, and it's nice to know I have the peace of mind for resale (though I've only resold a select few of my 50+ POPs but still).
If aokiji is indeed still a bit hard to get, maybe I won't have trouble selling my old one to put funds towards the new one... >_<

Eh those b-grades are from hlj that got damaged in the eathquake a few months ago, the boxes are damaged went they fell down from the shells, i assume, hah.

Heh for me it was sad mode as I thought I was going to miss them since I couldn't get onto amiami til like two hours later. First time for me to get on IRC so was interesting to see how everyone faired. It's good to see basically everyone got theirs. I think it was only Reddragon and me, or perhaps someone else near the end there. Lucky though HLJ came up and I got it there. Think everyone else did too.
Not sure on my Kuzan though. He's still MISB cause I need a new display shelve and haven't opened him. So if I decided to sell him there's that. Not sure if I want to just yet. The face is a little different by the looks of it, though that can be my imagination.

ok .. seriously .. I watched hobbysearch, BiJ, A-E and otacute like a hawk today … and I am at work. people here don't really like you surfing in the net while you should actually work but oh well ... what you do for POPs. I realized to late that hobbysearch put the preorders up and damn they were sold out. lemme add that I didn't even know which POPs would be released. yes .. I was sure about rayleigh but the other one was a biiig mistery for me. so by that time I was like "oh rayleigh, shite I wanted him! aha .. and a rerelease of aokiji. HA! no need to worry, I already got one. :D" ... so after refreshing various shops I tried HLJ and TADAAA~ got my rayleigh without problems. however ... I realized too late that megahouse has really done the unspeakable and is releasing an improved aokiji!!! >__< I thought it was the old one!!! If I had known .. I could have .. HLJ was working for me .. I could have ... arg. nevermind .. I'm not even sure if I want to spend so much money on 'kiji just coz of his coat and black shoes. seriously ... I don't think I'm gonna order that one.
