But that doesn't work with fillers. Whether Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto or Bleach… All TV fillers are always put into the storyline that way there are contradicting pieces. Pick them out and compare to the manga:
I know the mangas and animes of bleach and naruto. It works like a charm. I needed to watch naruto the fillers of his search for suckse, why? As for the Sanbi filler arc. I looked at the titles/synopses to find the point where they returned to canon material. If they happened to mix in one or two scenes from the manga in the middle of the filler I certainly didn't notice anything/miss them.
And what would I have missed during OP's Warship Island Arc , Post-Arabasta Arc, Goat Island Arc, Rainbow Mist Arc, G-8 Arc, Ocean's Dream Arc, Foxy's Return Arc, Ice Hunter Arc, Spa Island Arc and Little East Blue Arc? I guess at times the canon material overlaps with the beginning or end of a filler arc, and the ship will probably not be in exactly the same place, big deal O_O
Btw skipping works especially well with recent bleach fillers where they're just like "And Now for Something Completely Different!" total randomness ensues.
It's a sad day when so many people fall for a Herackles troll.
@No:
Buggy fillers .
All that needs be said .

I should rewatch the whole arc. I will rewatch it! Just to see how Shepherd fails again and again

someone had to see her down
I'm re-watching it in both Japanese and FUNi dub once it comes out on DVD.
It's been quite long since I last came here… Didn't feel well these days, and just wondering if things can be better.
The Episode Director of this Episode is Yoshihiro UEDA (上田芳裕).
He directed Episodes 462, 469, 476 and 482 in this arc. All of these episodes are, I mean, very terrible.
And the Episode Director of the next episode is Hiroaki MIYAMOTO (宮元宏彰) himself, the Series Director of One Piece. I think the next episode will be a good one.
Yeah, Ueda is currently the worst One Piece Director. I expected 482 to have bad directing, but not as bad as 469. Considering it was an important episode.
Luckily next 3 episodes will have nice directing.
And welcome back Bamind.

The flame that blazes brightest dies quickest.
Condorianio ~!
it was for him that Sogeking's manly tears were shed
Oda always said he'd kill a crew member.
I just…I just wish it wasn't him.
ye gawds, had we known!
the world is a much darker place without him
@dirt:
If you're talking about Merry's plight of "one more island/adventure", at least, G8 touches upon it a bit - doesn't give anything away or contradict it too terribly. In fact, in G8, they talk about Merry and fixing her quite a bit.
Unless, I'm not remembering something because it has been a while.
G8 replaced parts of chapter 303. And that's why I feel bad about that filler. The story was good - okay - but I simply don't like fillers that replace canonical parts of a story. Even though those parts are sort of replaceable…
And, Elric, that is the part where I'm disagreeing on that filler arcs would be to prefer over in-episode fillers that do nothing but stretch but don't contradict. And if one left out the fillers, why not staying with the manga?
Stop it guys, now I'm crying!
Condoriano, he'll always stay in our hearts.

You know ? You're right.
But then we need them to take up the challenge they set up with the fight against the Don way back in IH. As in a filler arc main villian fight lasting more then one episode. As far as I remember they have yet to do that again.
And they had ample oportunity in that horrible horrible Strong World "tie in".
Shuders.
Did anyone else feel as cheated as I was with that abomination ?
Did he take a piss with his orgy of sausages in the corner again?
No , it was a continuation of that horrendous "den den mushi" sub plot that the anime has fallen in love with recently.
The only good part of that , and the only good Buggy filler moment for the past two arcs , was that Creepy gangster staredown moment they gave the snail a few eps back.
That was it.
why not staying with the manga?
sure, if you can you make the voice actors read it to me.
I would love it.
I'd just skip through it, and when the important episodes came, I'd watch them and enjoy them. At least they wouldn't fuck up the Anime moments then
This… it's so simple, the good episodes would be good and you would have no one to blame but yourself if you watched the filler...
would rather there was a 2 year filler then to see the best arc in the manga translate in the worst arc in the anime ...

That title is stil firmly held by Impel Down.
sure, if you can you make the voice actors read it to me.
But then there's still no guarantee that the non filler episodes would be well animated or well drawn… There already is the Naruto example as proof in this thread.
It's official. Yonkou #3 is a horrible poster.
And I agree with everyone saying there should have been a filler arc before Marineford.
A good 5 or 6 episode filler would have been nice.

Wouldn't that have been kind of…ya know, make people go "Isn't Ace supposed to be killed soon? Shouldn't they be rescuing him?" all throughout that filler?
The second half after Doflamingo killed Bellamy.
All the events in the second Half of 303 were covered either in the G8 arc, or after the G8 arc. So…I don't know what you're talking about there.
@MasterKingJC:

I love the irony here.
I know some people in here would like pure filler arcs just so they can skip them without affecting their enjoyment of canonical episodes, but for those who would watch the arcs, how exactly would you implement one between Sabaody Archipelago and Fishman Island? If you keep the filler arc in the overall narrative flow of the show–something I think is respectable about One Piece fillers, for the most part--there seems to be no good way to do so, between the urgency of the Ace mission and the limited room for expanding on the Crew's Whereabouts without contradicting the manga. And it seems like it'd be difficult to do it prior to Fishman because a.) they've been holding off on that for long enough as it is, and b.) it would be difficult to do a filler arc without the crew members at some point going, "so, what have you guys been up to?"
Which leaves us with the Bleach "alternate timeline" or "this happened a while back and we didn't mention it" storylines, and those are terrible. Probably the worst filler thus far was the "Strong World Special Presentation," and that was the only arc in that vein that I recall.
@Portgas:
Ok maybe I overreacted up there. But seriously, if Ace dies next week then this show sucks, Oda has no talent and I'm not posting ever again.:getlost:
Well it was nice to talk with you via this forum lad.

I never said the filler had to involve Luffy or any of the other SHs. It could've been a filler about other characters we've recently meet, like Hacchan and Keimi or the Kuja pirates maybe.

That would fuck up the anime even more. Something tells me that Toei would fuck up the fillers too and interupt them with a filler in the filler. Keep it as it is if you ask me…
Why don't they just animate some of the cover stories that wouldn't directly affect the plot?
Like Wapol's, Enel's, CP9's, and Gedatsu's.
too logical

Well, there is a gap after Marineford, isn't it?
! Oda put a two year TS in his manga - so there's enough time for Toei to do a Buggy filler. 100 Episodes of "One Piece - The adventures of the notorious Captain Buggy", please.
@Badass:

! his Milky Dial doesn't work anymore on the blue sea?
Actualy… Filler episodes isn't such a bad idea as long as they are funny. To relieve the stress.

Something like this would be nice also. But the chances of that ever happening have long passed.

Not a bad idea, especially if any of them–i.e., Enel--might take part in the storyline in the future.
They will make them, but only when One Piece finally ends. :ninja:
Yea, it would be really interesing to see the cover stories animated. But they could ruin them too.
There is no way I can suppose Naruto-like or Bleach-like fillers in One Piece. Losing a few minutes out each episode to something like Bugle's antics is far better than filler that does not add to character design and characteristics.

Bugle ?
@dirt:
Bugle ?
Yeah, I heard "Bugle" is terribly "Corny" as a character in fillers.
[hide] Get it–Corn snacks? Corny? Huh Huh huh??? And don't tell me if you have to explain a joke it isn't funny. I don't flarging care right now, :-P~~~~~~~[/hide]
Radar's bugle antics weren't filler.
…Except when Hawkeye or one of his roomates filled the bugle with something to shut the thing up...
Why don't they take a break during the two year timeskip? Be like, the Strawhats are taking a break, and so are we! See you in 2 years! Or something. 2 years of space would be good, in addition to the one we already have.
So… When did Usopp say that
! his Milky Dial doesn't work anymore on the blue sea?
It might very well be in there. I haven't seen the G8 Arc in a while, but I flipped through my copy of Volume 32 and saw that most of the things in there (Chapter 303) were done at some point.
And even if that particular fun fact wasn't added in….I don't see how that very much affects anything.

Hey, I got an idea. Let's put spoilers in the anime section. Yeah, that'll definitely work!

It's a shame when a terrible poster like Masterking has to point something out to you.
Fucking lollll at Yonkou#3 calling anyone a bad poster.
MasterkingJC is ten times the poster you are.
Speaking as an Anime Only watcher, I had no clue what was gonna happen…. and besides for the Buggy parts, I loved this ep (I shed tears at the end) and I'm loving the ENTIRE War Arc so far (minus some Buggy fillers)..Hell I love almost every ep of OP…
So the haters/"Elitists**"** can say w/e u want, I know I am a true fan, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions.. however, I hear ppl sayin "any true one piece fan wouldn't like this ep" what a stupid BS comment to make, just becuz certain ppl set their expectations too high, doesn't mean the rest of us can't like it, your not better than me, or more a fan than me cuz u choose to read manga…
also I hear "the animation was bad...blah blah blah" I'd seriously like to see any of u haters do any better….
I can't believe I've even read complaints as about this arc dragging on too long...It gets me thinking I that should never read the manga, cuz I think the pacing is fine, I've been on edge of my seat since this War started and I seriously wouldn't mind if the arc went on another 20 eps!! Maybe cuz u alrdy know wut's gonna happen, ur just Impatiently waiting for it, and it's boring for u till for you till it gets there, but it sure as hell ain't boring for me !!!
This is how it is with any adaptation tho, you can't please everyone, haters gonna hate.. if you really think OP TV is so bad, and TOEI sux then stop watchin the anime!! and quit ur whining save us the headache…. I for one think this has potential to be the best arc of the series thus far(depending how it ends) and if you don't agree, that's cool, to each his or her own.

True man, true. I shad a tear too but that was when I was reading the manga. If they do the next episode good I might shad a manly tear again.
