The Nintendo Thread

Wasn't it 11/5?
About the lack of characters in Mario Kart 7: I fear that some might come as DLC ….
-
I believe it got moved till the 20/11 or somewhere near there

So during nov 17th, Nintendo is holding yet another conference at LA Auto show. And once again, we know nothing of what it's going to be about, so prepare for it.
-
Turns out my wii is in need of repairs..hopefully they will be able to save the VC games ive bought ( except Chrono trigger and FFVI) because ive got too much info stored on it….it still seems weird the disc channell works..but none of the vc games work anymore...
so im luckily got the 3DS now and cant wait for the updates for the system and definitly going to try Mario land 3D..it looks cool.EDIT: I did see the Zelda 25th points cards at gamestop..only one they had was the wind waker card with the bird on it

But it's an Auto Show. Don't get your hopes up too much.
I wish we could finally get some release dates and real information for Animal Crossing and Paper Mario, but I'm really doubting they have any intent to release those titles before E3 2012.

I want this too to the extreme

Mario Kart comes out this December.yeah, I think they're going to try to hype Mario Kart 7 some more. because other than that, I can't imagine what Auto Show-goers and Nintendo fans would both be interested in.
-
Evidently, Mario Land 3D comes with a minor firmware update (which will presumably be part of the bigger late-November one) that adds some sort of "Join Game" function to the 3DS friends list.

Was about time for that kind of update!
-
So, all these cool updates, but do we yet know anything about the GBA Ambassador games? I'm still waitin' fo' my Motherfuckin' Yoshi's Island!
-
Sadly, no. I'm extremely anxious for more news too. Need to know whether or not Minish Cap will really be among them like rumored, or if otherwise I should go try to snatch up a physical copy instead before it's too late.
-
The other night I nearly forgot about the post play surveys for the 10 NES games, and upon checking my Club Nintendo account, I had a TON of post play surveys that I had yet to do, and I didn't even register my DSi.
I went from 220 to 700 in one night! Yaaay Platinum status for me.

same here. too bad I own a 3DS and Zelda

Same here … but somehow I don't want to sell my black 3DS to buy that one and lose money :(
-
If I were in Europe, I would be sad I didn't wait.
But at the same time, I like my ambassador games I was promised. YOSHI'S ISLAND NINTENDO! I WANT IT! SO YOU GIVE IT! NOW!

At the momen I am more interested what the 5 other games are and WHEN they are downloadable
-
If LoZ: Minish Cap will be among them, then they could wait until 11:59 on December 31st, for all I care.
-
My hope for the remaining 5 to be revealed Ambassador games is that they are not anymore Super Mario Advances. Don't get me wrong, the 2D Mario platformers are great, but there's so much more to the GBA library than a bunch of Mario platforming ports. If they're going to choose more Mario games than they should go for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and/or Mario Tennis/Mario Golf.
-
My Dream List for the last 5:
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Golden Sun
Fire Emblem
Advance Wars (Or Mario Golf or Tennis would do here) -

Do want.
Whats with Europe and bogarding all the cool stuff lately?
Is keeping the Sonic Generations collector's edition huddled away not enough for you monsters?

Golden Sun
Fire Emblem
Advance Wars (Or Mario Golf or Tennis would do here)^this
However i see us getting mario tennis instead of Golden sun because that's a 2-part game and i doubt they'll give us both parts
-
Yeah I think we'll see the likes of both Mario Golf and Tennis myself.
-
Just give me a Poke game and I'm fine
-
I would love Pokemon Emerald, but the lack of connectivity would bother some people.
I don't see why it even matters. We'd still very much have a complete Pokemon game. Without the connectivity the game would still have 100 plus times the amount of playability that any of the NES Ambassador Games did. (Super Mario Bros. is like the only one I play)

Advance Wars (Or Mario Golf or Tennis would do here)They're not going to give away free stuff that doesn't belong to them. If they did, they'd have to pay for it. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, Kirby, etc are the franchises that they have the freedom to pimp as needed. Hoping for a third party game will only lead to disappointment.

What are you talking about? Those are not third party games. I am not too knowledgable on how all of it works, but they are second party (like Camelot, which has made the Golden Sun and Mario Golf/Tennis games).

What's a second party developer? If I use the definition of second person, that would imply that the consumer is also the developer. I can only assume you mean a third party developer that uses Nintendo as a publisher, which is the case with Camelot. They have a partnership. But they are not owned by Nintendo, and as such have absolutely zero obligation to give away their games for free to help Nintendo out. Nintendo would have to pay a lot of money for such a privilege, and I see no motivation for them to do such a thing.
In short, don't expect Mario Golf or Mario Tennis to be included either. I suppose it's my fault for not making them bold as well, but I didn't remember off hand that they weren't developed in house by Nintendo.
-
They're never going to give away a pokemon game for free. The USED games from 7 years ago, two handhelds back, STILL go for full price.
Pokemon is system seller by itself. Anyone thats going to buy a system to get the game, is going to also get the game. Its never going to be given away for free, not in any of its incarnation.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Gonna be honest, a Pokemon game is a huge seller for me, as much as I like that 3DS (Zelda) I will not buy a Nintendo product till I see a real Pokemon RPG (Or Mystery Dungeon) same goes for the Wii U.

Fire Emblem & Advance wars are actually nintendo titles.
I'd like to see yoshi's universal gravitation at some point, when the proper vc gba service starts up. Interesting to know if a properly functioing gyroscope would have made the game actually good.

Nintendo sees no profit from used game sales, though. They'd have to re-release it on the e-shop at e-shop prices one way or the other if they want to profit on those old titles again (and the used prices would tank as a result). I don't know if they'd make it free to the ambassador program or not, since I'm not familiar with the franchise like you are, but they could definitely include a full Pokemon game if they wanted to.
The chance for Pokemon is higher than Golden Sun, I guess is what I'm saying.

Ah, yeah, you're right. Intelligent Systems is a subsidiary of Nintendo. I missed that.
-
The chances of Pokemon FireRed or LeafGreen are probably significantly higher than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald due to the fact that Ruby/Sapphire remakes are pretty much inevitable.
However, I'm not saying either will make it into the program. I was just saying that's what I want. I personally would want Emerald because I only ever got Ruby from the three. However, no matter which one they chose it would provide many hours of entertainment which is a type of game we could use a lot of after the NES games we got in which case most of them were mini-games by today's standards.
-
I'd suspect/hope pokemon will be held back until they can trade with recent games…assuming they though of that before making black/white. They'd get a lot of sales that way. Not interested in them at all otherwise.
The GBA games already announced are really good, so I wouldn't be surprised if the remainder is dross. Minish Cap would be rather nice though.
-
Give me Super Star Saga Nintendo. I don't care what else you give us, if there is a chance that I can have both Yoshi's Island and Super Star Saga on my 3DS, I just may never put it down.

German Nintendo fansite stated this morning that NIntendo will not release the 10 GBA games till 2012.

I hope that isn't true, I mean I know this is free. But still, what's the hold up?
-
Well they did say late 2011 anyways. With the amount of stuff coming out in the upcoming weeks for the 3DS (Mario, Tales of Abyss, Dr. Lautrec, Mario Kart) and DS (Gigant Battle 2, Layton) and Wii (Zelda) I won't have time till the new year for more stuff anyways lol
-

I suspect the emulation itself isn't ready yet. They've never emulated the GBA before. The DS kind of did, but it had the GBA processor built in, so there wasn't much work to do. The ambassador program was thought up in a hurry so they were probably hoping they'd be done by now.

You do have a point, I am going to be all over Mario kart 7. Especially with online.
-
Oh hell yes, Mario Kart 7… mmmh

Yeah that's true but nevertheless I am somehow disappointed. They could at least say what the remaining 5 games are
-
I'm not trusting this info when we only have one source and it's not even a source in a language I can read, and therefore can't confirm the info for myself.
Not saying Nintendo hasn't actually delayed them till 2012. But I wana see more people actually report on and maybe even confirm this info with Nintendo, and I want at least one source in a language I can understand.

Get to it nintendo.
I don't want people knowing where my battleship is.
exactly. Only supporting one tablet sounded incredibly stupid, and limited the type of multiplayer games to essentially the 1 vs 3 games from Mario Party. With two tablets, the variety of games increases 10 fold.
anyway, my GBA wants:
1. Advance Wars
2. Fire Emblem
3. Golden Sun
4. Donkey Kong Country 2
5. Minish Capas for Pokemon, I don't really don't need or expect a re-release of anything 3rd Gen when a remake in the near future is quite likely.
-
Yeah, the GBA itself is kind of getting phased out, but it and most major games for it are still widely available. Especially Pokemon, so we shouldn't expect hand-outs of 3rd-gen games that are relatively recent and still easy to find.
Buy-able VC releases of Red/Blue/Yellow, on the other hand…
-
I don't trust that "anonymous" source, partially because partnering exclusively with EA would be such a strange move for Nintendo. Japan doesn't give a shit about EA.
and if I had to choose, I would much prefer Steam. I like Valve more than EA and Bioware, though I still wouldn't play any of their games on a console.
but honestly, I just want to be able to play the next Smash Bros online without it being a complete fuck, that's all I ask.
