Not getting a 3DS unless they have more games than OoT and Kid Icarus.

Maybe Tetris and Mario Kart on top of those but damn there's not many games I'm looking forward to for it.
-
Plenty for me to look forward to.
Super Mario 3DS Land, Mario Kart, Kid Icarus, Tetris, Tales of Abyss, Starfox, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, 20 Free games, Resident Evil Revelations (unless Capcom screw this one up too.), Rolling Western (who say Nintendo don't try new IPs?) May also pick up Unlimited Cruise SP and Pokemon Scramble. Obviously DS itself has some nice upcoming ones like Kirby, Harvest Moon, Dragon Quest Joker 2 and Layton too so~ Will be a fun few months so my 3DS should get plenty of usage.
-
What's dragon quest joker? is it a spinoff?
-
Yeah it's a spinoff. Probably shoulda said Dragon Quest Monsters. Kinda more like Pokemon.
-
If what is scheduled for this year turns up, 3DS should have a pretty solid base.
I bought mine early because I'm a huge xcom fanboy.
-
I missed a couple off the list too.
Heroes of Ruin looks nice, as does Dr. Lautrec.
Like everyone said. Poor Launch. But once it gets going it looks like it'll really get going.
BTW. Congrats on becoming a green mod.
I been really addicted to Mario Picross recently. Well worth the money spent.
-
I love the picross games. I'm hoping we get some worthwhile games on the eshop to. I have £7 on there that i'm desperatley trying not to waste on games i'll get bored with quickly. I have bad control :(

sees Investigations 2 listed
lets out a hollow, bitter laugh

I got Link's Awakening today, and boy is it quite refreshing to see it in color. I never got around to getting DX before… I originally got the black and white version with the Gameboy Pocket. It was my first ever Zelda video game!
Also, I got my first Mii from Streetpass, too. It's most likely the cashier I met at the gas station, which is interesting. His most recent game was Mario Picross, which I've been meaning to get.
-
hey so we have till 8th to do this ambassador thing
when can we finally download the new games?
-
We could download new games starting on sept 1st I think
-
When can we start downloading the first half of these games?
-
If I understand the press releases right, we'll be getting the NES games on September 1st, then the GBA ones by the end of the year.
-
yeah and they'll announce the other half in the next few days. also later this year we will be able to download updates for the NES games that allow for wireless multiplayer

Well that's new. Hadn't heard of that.
Also, here's something else I'm wondering right now… I could use an extra case for my old and fragile DS Lite. I've been looking at the two on Club Nintendo -- the simple silver-color case for 400 points and the reversible pouches for 250 -- but I'm not sure if I want to spend the points or not. Does anyone else have them who could attest to their quality or lack thereof?

I have the blue reversible pouch, and I'm very pleased with it. I use it for my 3DS, and it's a little big for it (it was made to hold even a DSi XL, after all), but it's satisfactory. I haven't gotten any scratches on it.
-
Wow NOE are really on top of things, huh? I really hope it sells well! -
Yeah Nintendo seems to be giving Xenoblade the same attention Dragon Quest 9 got last year. Tons and tons of hype. Great stuff.
-

I may very well go with the pouches, then. The 400-point carrying case looks like it's on the cheaply-made side to me, and I could easily pick up something just as good or better at Target or something. But if the pouches are of such good quality for their 250 points like you say they are, then they sound like a pretty good option.
Also, apparently we just learned something else interesting; we'll be able to get 10 coins each on Club Nintendo for those 20 free games we're getting. Hachacha, there's 200 of those 250 coins back.
-
Walmart and other store's dropping the price early really piss me off. It feels as if the loyal Nintendo fans who got a 3DS before the drop wasted our money.
-
There unfortunately isn't a Wal-Mart near where I live. Does anyone think it would it be a wise investment to by a 3DS for full price so I can get the free games?
-

It's neat, that's for sure. I always felt like my 3DS would get all sorts of scratches if I just carried it in my pocket like I did with my old, bulky DS, but the pouch makes me feel safe! =)
Really? 10 per each free game? Wow, if that's indeed true, I'll only be 1/3 of the way from getting a platinum club nintendo membership already.

twitter is saying something about Metroid Fusion
http://twitter.com/#!/NintendoAmerica -
I've got a 3DS now. Thank you Walmart and your jump at the price drop three days before everyone else.
-
My friend just bought one today as well when I told him about that deal. And to think, I almost didn't tell him… :P
-
Metroid Fusion. Connect to the e-shop by tomorrow night (11th) to get it. Although it says America atm (and no. It's not on the UK one yet) but I'm gonna guess it'll be the same.
-
Yeah Nintendo seems to be giving Xenoblade the same attention Dragon Quest 9 got last year. Tons and tons of hype. Great stuff.
Do you think they've learnt from last year and don't have jedward advertising it this time
-
Yeah. Rumour has it that Nintendo are watching the releases of the three games and deciding on whether to bring them across to America if they do well here.

Flame red 3DS coming to North America

Nintendo is watching how Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower do in Europe before they make any decisions:

Mario Land 3DS: November 13th (Assuming 11th in UK)
Mario Kart 7: Dec 4thSame week as Skyrim for Nov it seems.
-
OK I know what I want for christmas :D

Urgh, online xenoblade preorders don't get the posters it seems - a fact they did not mention at all on the website. Just got confirmation from GAME that it's true and cancelled my preorder.
Will have to do a store preorder this weekend.

What poster is this? Is it worth the extra £10 or so buying it in store?
-
Wait. You have to pre-order to get the alt coloured controller? Didn't realise that. Guess I'll have to pre-order too.
-
This has all been pretty poorly handled by GAME so I'm not sure - I don't think you need to preorder for the controller though, that's the only additional thing the LE set has.
I'm going to ask in gamestation this weekend since they tend to know what they're talking about.
-
lol it tends to be the other way for me. Gamestation was the ones proudly announcing Dead or Alive 3DS for £20 yet when I went in they wouldn't sell it due to 'Them not being authorised to sell it.' yet having tons displayed in store XD
Although it is true. These days unless it's Modern Warfare or something that requires a deposit Game don't tend to know anything about pre-orders. I still have my Gigant Battle pre-ordered with them which they assure me they are going to get in stock someday….
-
Seriously Nintendo… STILL no release date for Skyward Sword? Your KILLING me here >.<. I wanna preorder for the golden wiimote!

@GamingBolt:
Nobody at Nintendo has no f***ing clue, do they?Unlike the debut of the 3DS at last year's E3, which won rave reviews from everybody, the Wii U reveal left everybody's head scratching. The fundamental problem of what exactly the Wii U_was-_a new console, a new controller, a new iteration- having been (unsatisfactorily) answered, there were still questions about the console that remained unanswered- about its power, about its online infrastructure, and most of all, about its fancy new Wii U controller.
The early message was that the Wii U could only support one Wii U controller (and four other non Wii U controllers) at a time. This was hastily amended to 'it's possible to support up to two controllers, but we're focusing on only one per game right now.' This was later restated as 'it would be technically difficult to support more than one Wii U controller at full capacity.'
Apparently, now it seems all of that was a misconception born out of the initial statement from Nintendo that said that 'only one Wii U controller will be shipped per console, and Wii U controllers will not be sold separately.'
Here's what a rep from Nintendo of Canada had to say about the matter:
"Let me correct something that is a misconception.**We said that the Wii U system will come with one Wii U controller, but we haven't said that you can only use one Wii U controller. The fact is that if the developer makes a game or an experience that uses more than one, then anything is possible.**What we've also talked about is to imagine taking some of the experiences you've had at your own home, putting them on your Wii U controller, and taking that with you somewhere else. That would again get rid of that myth and misconception that only one can be used. So, the possibility is there, but the system will only come with one at this point."
Okay, so that's how it stands right now.
You can check out the full interviewhereat GoNintendo. The full interview talks about a lot of stuff, including continued support for the Wii, a new Metroid, and the possibility of Nintendo celebrating more franchise anniversaries like it did Mario and Zelda.sauce

Nintendo more or less said from the start that it would be possible to play with more than one controller. It's just at the moment they are just looking at one player for it.
-
I really don't care though.
True, it's nice to play with others but I mainly buy a console for myself and most games I own are 1-Player titles.
Besides, if the WiiU controller is sold seperately it will cost a lot. Look at the Nunchuk+Wiimote, even those two things are expensive when you buy the Nintendo ones. -
It's not saying that you'll not be able to play online with everyone using the Wii U controller either.
-
Since I connected to the e-shop back in July, I am safe right?
-
Should be the case …
-
there is a way to check, but it requires going to the eshop anyways. Not that it's hard to do so since you don't need to buy something on the eshop to check
-
2 things:
So, with a price drop imminent, all eyes were cast on the Asian - in specific, Japanese - market. If this lower price was well-received in Japan, chances were that the same would apply on a global scale. Well, the console went on sale today and, while still at an early stage, the initial figures look good.Bloombergreported that around 2000 people queued outside Yodobashi Camera Co.'s store in Akihabara, Tokyo, following the consoles re-release, with many of these queuing from 10pm the night before. Furthermore, the console has seen a significant rise in Pre-order sales - many of Japan's top electronic retailers have sold-out - and a vast increase in second-hand sales, with some companies reporting a quadrupling of sales.
http://www.shadowlocked.com/201108112060/news/reduced-nintendo-3ds-goes-on-sale-in-japan.html
Wonder how long the sales boost will last.
According to Bloomberg, investors are crying out for Nintendo to make their iconic titles available for iPads, iPhones, and even Facebook. Bloomberg elegantly depicts the 3DS sales thus far:
Bloomberg: The flop of the 3DS debut prompted the company to cut prices 40 percent in Japan and 32 percent in the U.S., the first time the games developer has resorted to such a move within six months of a product's debut.
The article goes on to point out that iOS game popularity is really putting the squeeze on Nintendo, who posted a quarterly loss of 328 million dollars. Iwata says he'll only make Nintendo games for Nintendo platforms. Should he reconsider? I wouldn't mind a little Mario in my App Store.
