FYE, but most likely they over pre ordered. Camping out is the only way to get it on day 1 now. I suggest a place like Target, or a music store, where not many people think they sell games.

I so can't wait for the Wii. Twilight Princess is gonna be so awesome! I'm also looking forward to the upcoming Bleach and One Piece games, though apparently the Wii will be region locked. =/

As much as I want to get the Wii, I'm probably going to hold back and not get one for a few months, one to save up some money and two to allow the game library to expand to have about four or five games I'm interested in available at the time I purchase the machine.

My local FYE wasn't over with preorders yesterday, I was the 20th preorder. I also got to see one of those people who buy the new systems just to over pircely sell them in the Newspaper!

Do you know if FYE is also taking preorders on games? I ask because I know I'm going to be forced to buy a bundle and I would prefer to have Twilight Princess bundled alongside with my Wii as opposed to getting something I couldn't care less about and the FYE I preordered from is quite a ways away.

Anyway. Does anyone have any idea if the Virtual Console games work on a GC controller? I mean, as much I as love Nintendo the one thing I hate is the whole business strategy of making people buy marginally updated hardware when old hardware works fine. cough gba cough

Probably yes. But the classic controller is about $20 so I would personally discard GC controllers. All the N64 and NES games should work perfectly with the Wii controller anyway.

What does everybody think of Red Steel? I was interested until I saw it in action via IGN and I don't know. either the guy playing has god awful aim or something is horribly amok with the title.

yesh, im hoping whoever made the Freeloader will come up with something to let me play Japanese Games, or I could just get a 2nd Wii that is Japanese Region
But with OP:UA being at E3, DBZ Sparking NEO already being announced for a US release, and the Naruto GNT series being released in America, I suspect those will all eventually be availible In the US too… but then I'd have to put up with the Voices T_T

$250 + Y25,000 is still less than a fully-decked PS3. :)

The Wii is the only next-gen console which appeals to me. If I want good graphics, I'll stick with my PC. And all the High-Def freaks can drool as I can play games at 2048x1536 on my monitor.

The Wii offers me a gaming experience I can't get on the PC, at least not without buying at least $250 in specialty hardware and then spending ages setting it up.

Which shouldn't really be too hard, since my sources tell me that Nintendo, unlike Sony, will probably be having enough available on launch date to get everyone who preordered one a system as well as those who waited till it came out. As long as you (/we) rush in the first day or so, it probably won't be too hard to get one (Zelda might be, though…).

It looks alright, but really isn't top of my list. If the video you speak of is the same one I'm thinking of, I believe he said he was playing too close to the TV, which was throwing the calibration off (I believe they would probably have some way of changing it for each TV, so it shouldn't be a big issue, either).

If I can get enough for more controllers sometime ($60… ugh =/), I will be attempting to plug the system into our church projecter and have four people get on stage for some Wii Tennis action. =D

At first Red Steel looked awesome, then in E3 it looked crappy and now it's steadily starting to look good again. I just read the wiimote is used as a phone too. During multiplayer, or something, you hear your objectives from the speaker but to hear it properly you have to put the controller next to your ear – as you were using a phone. Creative.

I would say there are good chances that the game will be from good to great. But I also say it will still take few years before developers are really able to take everything out of the controller and if this game doesn't hit hard, it's possible that it's sequals will.

Wii Tennis only requires the wiimote though... so it's like extra $40 per a player.

Indeed. I was thinking of that earlier. And thanks to me getting fairly good paychecks recently + birthday in 13 days, I might just be able to pull off getting three controllers around the same day.

As of right now I'm torn between a Red Steel and DBZ BT2 regarding what game I should get along side Twilight Princess. I am pretty much going to be forced to buy a bundle by FYE and from what I recall I'll have to get two launch titles alongside the Wii. Twilight Princess is a given, but as I said I'm torn between Steel and DBZ. Red Steel seems like it could be a hit or a dud, and DBZ honestly looks like fun, but I guess it comes down to which will be more fun. Any suggestions?

Has anyone heard any news on Pokemon Revolution? I saw a couple of screenshots for it a month or so again and haven't heard anything about it since.

A good idea would probably be to go to a big retail store like Walmart. Walmart is open 24 hours, so you can stay inside and hang around instead of staying out in the cold. It'll also probably be a bit more manageable than a specialized game store, since the "die hard" people will probably be swamping them.

I was thinking of buying this for my girlfriend, while I wait for the ps3 when that first price drop happends. ( if it ever does)

What does the Wii offer? How similiar is the controls to the "glove"? How would that affect gameplay?

I know the graphics are not as good as the other systems, but what makes you guy more excited about this system? Game play means alot to me and that depends on the game library. What makes it stand out other than the control system?

Well, firstly the price

Secondly is the line up of games available to the Wii. Super Smash Bros Melee, Twilight Princess, Metroid, the Wii Sports Series, and something I will have to get in the future: WII MUSIC.

Red Steel looks pretty interesting too.

And the interface looks pretty clean too, along with all the Mii's and the Virtual System.

Mainly for me it's the price though. And I just don't exactly see how motion sensors will work with that controller except for racing games.

that and It's small enough to fit into my backpack. I want one before the week After April Vacation so I can take it on my school's band and orchestra's trip to Baltimore for a music festival. And all that jazz.

The Wii will either be a big success or just another average system. I think it'll be a success, because Nintendo has been thinking "outside of the box" with their systems and games since they started planning about the DS back in '04. I think their launch games will be great, and since a lot of people love super smash bros., Super Smash Bros. Brawl will give the Wii a great start.
The only thing I worry about is Wi-Fi. I think Nintendo is afraid to step it up a notch in online gaming. What I mean by that is they don't want things to happen where a little kid meets a 'cool' guy and wants to meet up with him in real life only to find out that he's a child molestor and kidnaps him, thus getting Nintendo sued by his parents. Why don't they just trust that their parents will talk to the kids about it? Or they could at least have a small booklet about handling these kind of things.
Otherwise, I think I'll love this system alot. One Piece: Unlimited Adventure looks really good.

I'm generally happy how Wi-Fi has been with DS - I'm a quick match type of person anyway - but I'm disappointed how Nintendo is again behind MS and Sony when it comes to online gaming. Even Brawl probably won't get online features which is a big bummer.

But really…people who camp out, in my opinion, the bravest people in the world. (Or possibly the foolest?)
