Ok I have serious problems with the forums. Whenever I type up a somewhat larger reply and hit the submit button nothing happens and they window hangs itself up. This happen already a couple of times but latele it happens with every reply that is larger then this one, so basically I have to save larger texts as word files and constanly re-try to submit my two cents until I´m lucky and it gets taken.
I didn´t mention it because I didn´t want to complain but it happens quite frequently lately and it doesn´t make fun to post under these conditions. Anybody know what´s wrong.

me too its happend 4 times already and is a pain in the ass constantly having to re-wite everything i just wrote,
i would much appeciate it if some mod or admin could fix it….

That's probably a coding bug of the software? Or is the page not loaded finished yet before you submitted your reply? VB often have a lot of scripted events being fired only after everything on the page including frames etc have been loaded.

Nope the page had everything loaded finished. I´m talking about replies who can´t be written that fast that the page couldn´t have finished loading everything (except you may use a 56k Modem). =D

I have the two color walks scanned by a group called EnA, might be the same people, but I doubt it.
Anyway, there WAS down time yesterday, so that's why there were the problems with posting. Apparently, a large part of the Chicago network was down, our site wasn't the only one ot experience this problem.

I noticed that and it´s true that yesterday I was caught with that. However this phenomenon did already appear often before and today four time´s after this event. The funny thing is that I can reply to this here, but some of the biggy more complex replies won´t get through.
I usually press ctrl+A+C (to copy) before I hit reply on long reply… in case :P

ivotas, I'm thinking it could possibly be your ISP now, because I can't find any records of the server going down except for yesterday, and I myself have yet to experience this problem.

it works fine with small posts but when you write long replies it almost always hangs up..

I know there's something wrong with my ISP, although I don't have the same problems as you.. Wait.. No.. I take that back.. I have no idea, actually, as I don't remember writing a long reply. O_o

I'll try to emulate this error, but I honestly can't see how forum software would cause your browser to hang when you try to make your long post.

Can you guys try to remember exactly when you have experienced this problem? Also, about how long were your posts?
I just tested out posting a super long post(and I mean long) and it posted almost instantaneously for me.

Well my most recent problems I had today appeared just in between my post #154 and #158 in this very thread. I´ve tried it before between and after these posts and it didn´t work.
I have to say though that it doesn´t happen with all long posts I write as you can see that I already started a new thread in the manga section that started with a long post. BUT it is only long posts where this problem appears. And furthermore it is only the forum window that hangs itself up when this happens. Everthing else on my PC keeps on running just fine.
Don´t know if that was of any help. <_<
EDIT: I just tried to post the same reply and I failed again for the xth time. I doubt that this has anything to do with when I post. But if it helps check the time one minute before I edited this post.

there's nothing for you to fix, inorder to fix something, a problem needs to be identified, and since we can't seem to identify any sort of problem, well…..we can't fix anything =(

well for me its not just long posts it could just as well be a short one but ones that took alot time to write so after a certain amount of time it seems that window hangs up(did that make any sense or should i try to phrase it better?=D),

Yep, that happened to me to with a short post. But then again when I just copy a large saved post the process doesn´t require any large period of time.
And as far as my response is concerned. I´ll get it done somehow sooner or later, but I really wonder if it is worth the effort, because it is nothing that will set the world on fire. :mellow:

Well I finally managed to get the reply through. Don´t ask me how I did it because you wouldn´t believe since it doesn´t make any logic sense.

I have a little suggestion for the forums. Just wanted to know if there´s a chance to get a letter color that is exactly like the background. It would be cool to have it in cases you type down hidden spoiler texts or try to do some graphic stuff like here. Not that this current color sux. But it isn´t 100% invisible.
I know, it probably is a stupid and useless suggestion for most of you guys, but I would consider it quite handy and it wouldn´t cause any trouble. Just wanted to ask if that is possible.

Ok you don´t know how confusing your post is for me, seriously. When it gets to stuff like that, then I´m like a 3 years old kid. I have absolutely zero understand of what you´ve just told me. So is there any way of explaining this Hexcode and BBcode stuff so, that a little 3 years old boy could understand it? Because I find that very intersting, I just don´t understand it. =(

[.color=#e0e8f4] text [/color.] (without the dots) That's BBcode, with the hexcode in it. It works to colour the text within the tags. And with that hexcode (#e0e8f4) the colour of the text will be the same colour as the background. Unless you quote it, like you did with my post.
I hope that made any sence. I really suck at explaning.

there is no warning system as of right now, though once we upgrade to v3.5 for vB, I hope to implement them one way or other.
