T-Dog is the Hinata of the group.
He's going to confess his love for somebody, be badly injured and never appear again?
Sounds about right.

He's going to express his unrequited love for Rick in the season finale
it's sad that that would be the most compelling writing t-dog's gotten
This show is a much better story in the novel.
I agree for the most part but some of the things in the show are done much better than the novel.
! The reveal of the walkers in Herschel's barn: In the novel it's just him and Rick talking and then it's just thrown out there. In the show Glenn finds out and is reluctant to tell the group because of Maggie so it builds on the suspense of "will they break out? what happens when the group finds out?" etc….
! Shane himself: Do I even need to explain how much better they did the tension between Rick and Shane in the show? Not to mention Shane as a character in the show is better........or maybe it was because he was more fleshed out.
! Carl: In the beginning he's kinda timid but as the show goes on he gets colder and colder, in the novel he's kind of an asshole from the get-go. He's plain-spoken, especially to Sophia, to the point of coming off as a terrible person. You never really feel for him as a person in the novel until much later on whereas he's much more sympathetic early on and even know you can sympathize with the boy trying to grow up too fast and getting burned by it, thus growing from it.
! Atlanta: Nearly every bit of it was way better in the show. Granted it was all pretty much filler but it was really well done filler that built tension of escaping from this place that's overrun by zombie instead of "hey, let's walk to the camp where your family happens to be".
T-Dog is the Hinata of the group.
FUCKING LOL!

Story Spoilers
[hide]I agree with Shane the most. Knowing the book and watching the show, I kept counting down the minutes until Shane kicked the bucket, but between those minutes, I felt more connection with Shane. I didn't like him (especially during the fun attempted rape scene…..way to kill a decent character), but I kind of felt like he was an needed character. Like he wasn't going to die and was going to have a major part in future episodes. Granted, that's over now, but he seemed like he was going to stay much longer than 'OH! Carl suddenly shot him. We'll he's gone.' So I was pretty surprised that he was around for so long, and was as interesting as he was.
What's sad is, I don't really care for anyone else that much. I like Glenn and Maggie, of course, and I want to hold out for Andrea because I know she's going to become bad ass. Everyone else? I really don't care if they live or die in the show. I just kind of hate their characterization in the show, and while the show is supposed to be about 'survivors doing everything they can to survive and the horrors that occur', I find myself becoming rather apathetic. Maybe I have ice water flowing through my veins, but I just do not care about majority of them, and sometimes, the writing doesn't seem to care about half of them.
I do prefer the novel, but man, the show just fails to compete in areas. To be fair, I know it picks up with more and more characters, but I just feel like it should have been picked up and better before the end of season 1. And I found season 1 to be dreadfully boring.[/hide]
Oh, I completely agree that the show has done a bad job of making you care for the characters beyond what they see as their main 3-5 people.
I'm hoping that now that the character number has been decreasing, they'll start to focus on the other characters like T-dawg. I mean, just give the man more than two lines a season, something that contributes something. Not "Hey Dale, I'm black, you're old. Let's leave", or "Shoddy da couch".
Also…
! I'm curious about Zombie behaviour if simply dying does turn you into a Zombie. Let's say a Zombie finds a human. It begins to eat it and what, stops once it dies and becomes a Zombie?
I just saw Shane in a restaurant today. Normally I could care less about celebrities, being jealous and all, hahaha. He wore a hoody to keep people from noticing him, but looks a lot smaller then I thought he'd be.
Seriously Lori, SERIOUSLY?! Are you really mad about Rick killing Shane when you told him too?! UGH I HATE THIS WOMAN.
Did…
! Andrea just get saved by someone with a katana? What the hell.
! Oh, and Carol is a pain. I hope Daryl doesn't get dragged down with her.
Tonight's episode
! Tell your husband to kill Shane, he kills Shane, lose sight of your son, son kills Shane. Get mad at husband. Makes total sense.
Tonight's episode for those who read the comic
! I'm extremely surprised at the direction they went for Michonne. Her bf and brother look really gruesome and I won't be surprised if Season 3's webseries will be about her and the pet walkers. Considering she's getting her back story in a playboy issue, it'd be easy for them to adapt it.
Heh
! Herschel is surgical with that shotgun. And Daryl's comment on Glenn's driving, fucking lol. Really intense episode, one of my favorites. Now, bring on the Governor!!!!!!

I really need to stop reading your spoiler tags, I mean wow. JK JK
In all seriousness, I just hope the prison isn't like the farm and we get serious world building. I'd like to see if there's anything interesting going on int he rest of the world.
! Way to turn every character against you, Rick. I get you're stressed as fuck, but you could have tuned it down a notch.
! Or three.
I didn't even remember a plot element of Rick being told everyone's infected. That happen? Been awhile.
More casting news for Season 3
! Michonne will be played by actress Danai Gurira. She looks the part, I've just never seen any of her work.
BTW, I can understand future/novel spoilers that will probably be used in the future but to spoiler the current episode discussion is a bit weird. If you're not currently caught up why would you even come into a thread full of people discussing the latest episode(s)?
Edit: Episode spoilers.
! Laurie is like a damsel in distress with an attitude: She just gets less and less likeable with each passing second.
! Isn't Daryl/Carol's conversation just like T-Dog/Dale's?
! I'm glad Rick's getting less "goody-goody" and thinking more about the survival of the group. He's shouldering the weight of the group and it's finally getting to him, great.
! T-Dog seems like such a coward to me. He's a good guy but when you get down to it he's ready to cut tail and run.
Just to not spoil people, who might catch the episode a bit later than normal. You can stop after a fair amount of time has passed from it airing.
Loved the episode.
! My sister was honestly surprised that T-Dawg made it lol. The farm action was great. Herschal is pretty amazing with that gun. Glenn and Maggie make me smile so much aww. I loved Rick being so frayed mentally (honestly he's not doing that bad considering he's on like no sleep after killing Shane and that farm mess).
! Lori is… I just can't deal with that lady. At all.
! Andrea was hella awesome. And omg Michonne. :)

Again, why are they coming into the thread then? I watch wrestling every week but if I tape Raw I'm not gonna go to message boards or sites where they're discussing the show and spoil myself. I'm simply gonna wait until I see it before I make my rounds.

! We've already seen them possibly adding a new perma-character so there's more than likely just gonna add to their numbers, flesh them out a bit, then kill them as well.
I've been marathoning this series for a few days, and am now officially caught up!
Let me just say, that I love this show so damn much! Every episode had me hooked again and again.
I have a couple of the graphic novel volumes, but I haven't continued on since Vol. 1. But now that the season is over, I'm gonna try and see if I can catch up on the novels. I only have the first five, so I gotta lot of reading to do.
Now about the finale,
! I'm wondering how long Andrea is going to be separated from the group. I'm not sure if they'll kill her off anytime soon in Season 3, but this show is full of surprises. And speaking of surprises….
It seems that...everyone is infected. 0.O
So I'm guessing that the disease doesn't take full effect until after a person has died. An interesting plot twist.
Some people don't like waiting, or what have you. You can not put it under spoiler tags if you want, it's just being polite for that first little while after an episode. Before I would always spoiler tag what I had to say about the episode, but then stopped when it didn't seem like I had to, and then someone came in and got spoiled… so I'm back to being careful and not wanting to accidentally spoil someone on the episode, especially the finale.
It's not much of an inconvience, I simply find it odd that anyone would go into a thread knowing it's gonna full of the discussion of the latest episode(s). Like, right now, who in the posts after the episode has aired is discussing ANYTHING that doesn't have to with the latest episode? Barring this conversation of couse.
Yeah, it happens sometimes. A newcomer clicks on a thread out of curiosity, and ends up reading a spoiler.
Plus, there might also be some major spoilers from the graphic novels. So, it makes sense to try and play it safe.
Of course you should spoiler anything from the GN or info on episodes/the season yet to air but if a person is gonna click the last page of a thread knowing they aren't caught up then it should be on them that they read it.
I really liked this episode. But damn everything was very dark on my tv. I could barely make out some stuff. Last week for me the lighting kept changing mid scene…not sure what that was about.
I feel like I've been saying this a lot...but screw Lori.
Casting Spoiler:
! I haven't read the comic but like this cloaked person already. Although I'm confused about the two she has chained to her? But still, yay for powerful women. Danai Gurira kinda makes me think Grace Jones in a way.
Should I pick up the comic? I'm wondering if it'll ruin the show for me since I've seen a lot of people griping about changes between the two.
If you go anywhere on the Internet where you can read things about your show, you should expect spoilers. Also, never expect politeness from the Internet.
I'll try to put spoilers in a spoiler tag whenever I can, and maybe even leave a quote saying not to read it or something, but you can't expect the entire Internet to stop because you're not prepared to read spoilers.
My take on the season finale
! I don't like how they all survived. My roommate kept asking me who the people were who were dying even though he'd seen every episode. Now he's not the brightest but it really just made how worthless and emotionless those deaths were extremely apparant. My favorite one was Rick telling the kid to drive into a group of zombies and park it so that he and his son can escape while the kid got eaten alive.
! I also didn't like how everyone sort of turned on Rick towards the end. How does knowing you're infected already or not change how you view the world. I mean if you DIE you turn into a zombie but if you die who gives a flip about you at that point. Now i can see why a leader would want to keep this information away from dumb sheeples like Carol who was at her most irratating, entitled, and useless this epsiode. People would probably take that kind of information and just start panicing and blowing it out of proportion before they realize it doesn't really change anything. Lori was also on point with being The Worst and i completely do not understand her reaction when Rick told her he had ended up doing the thing she was asking him to do like 3 episodes ago. This is just a minor quibble though because i don't understand anything Lori says or does and i don't even know why she exist. Carl was also extremely annoying. In fact everyone in this episode sucked except for Andrea(surprise), Daryl (keepin it classy), and Herchel (keepin it old school).
! Perfect opportunity to drop some dead weight characters, like the grown man who everyone calls T-Dog but nope…gotta sit through another season with these awful awful people.

Read the comic and undertand that probably half to 3/4 of these characters may not live past season 3
Gonna assume it's good to post without spoilers the day after.
Seems like the comic and the show are very different in terms of survival time.
Well they did at least trim down the cast from the farm people side. Although I was a bit surprised the young blonde survived. Although Rick's secret would have been revealed much earlier if she actually had killed herself. And I do feel bad for Rick. He got no down time between killing Shane, watching his son kill Zombie Shane, the farm being overrun, getting separated from a good chunk of the group, dealing with his son…Thank god Herchel was there. His wife running from him.
Talking Dead spoilerish?:
! Although the director I believe it was said that Lori reacted the way she did out her own guilt, not really blaming Rick. And then he's got people judging him for keeping that tidbit about the virus.
I mean, yeah he flipped his shit. Who wouldn't? That's a lot of stuff they are piling on him. They expect him to lead but don't like being led? Carol was surprisingly obnoxious. Why are you trying to get Daryl to take up a position he's stated he doesn't want? Did T-Dog speak about it? If so I don't remember lol. At least Herchel has Rick's back.
everyone's just mad because dale isn't there anymore to be their conscience
Could season 2 dale exist without season 2 shane? What is the hunter without the slowing simmering psychopath…

Exactly my point. Again, every post since the episode has aired has been about the previous episode so what could someone who's behind HOPE to gain by coming into this thread.
So far i rly like the tv-series a bit more than the original comic..
The second season was good, but just the end was as strong as the first season.
Iam interested in which way they go with Andrea by now, but i kind of like that she is that early independent.
Daryl has grown even more to my favourite character even when not in the original present, but Carl just seems to be a creeper in the tv-series…especially now without Sophia..well.
Iam rly hyped to see how they will handle Philip, i totally hope they keep his creepy apartment and his torture ^^
Okay one whole season for the farm, so about 3 seasons for the prison seems about right, hehe.
Now that the second season is done, who are everyone's favorite characters?
Mine: Andrea (I really liked her story with her sister's death/suicide attempt and her growth to the person she is now), Daryl (he just makes me laugh) and Hershel (surprisingly he really grew on me). And Rick too since I always like watching Andrew Lincoln walk around. :P
@Don:

Agreed. The comic is great but a little too shipping-crazy for my tastes. I like that the show toned that down a bit.

Yeah…the show's about to get more crazy (and more bloody) in season #3. It may begin to turnoff some people--people who haven't read the comic--to the series.
They are bringing in Michonne (the katana-wielding, Walker-walking (and owning) woman) and the Governor (a complete freak of nature) and crew.
I mean...look at this:
The Governor:
Michonne:
Um wow Laughing Man, that first pic…lol...Well I'm looking forward to the next season. Daryl has definitely been my favorite character. Which is sorta funny since I guess he wasn't a character is the comic. Andrea has finally become a character I can get behind now. She got on my nerves in the first season and part of the second, but once she got the hang of a gun, she started being awesome.
Glen has been off and on for me. But he's so adorable.
I can tell you who is never gonna get on my good list...Lori...:ninja:
Now that the second season is done, who are everyone's favorite characters?
My favorite used to be Glenn but he's been somewhat stale this season, despite getting a plotline with Maggie. My favorite now is probably Hershel, after the incident at the bar he became an awesome man that simply wants to protect his farm and family. He's a hell of a shot and seeing him staying and firing off on Zombies in the finale solidified it for me, as well as him supporting Rick despite the Ricktatorship.
Daryl is the only character i can actually stand now. I almost wish they'd make a show about him but then it'd just be a show about an extremely competent guy successfully surviving the zombie apocalypse. There would be no drama or tension because you know he's not going to die because he's not retarded =/
Reaching a bit i'd extend it to Herchel. I just want Andrea to die so i don't have to hear any more words out of her mouth. Glenn really lost me this season. I liked Shane but then he went and took it too far and everyone else is less of a character and more of a device to move the plot. Except for Lori who is the opposite of Batman…

Aside from the time he shot himself in the leg with an arrow.
Aside from the time he shot himself in the leg with an arrow.
He shot himself in the leg? I thought he got impaled by his arrow after falling off a cliff. Then the crazy really kicked in.
Aside from the time he shot himself in the leg with an arrow.
He was impaled in the side with his own arrow by accident when the horse he was riding on got spooked by a snake.
Anyway, just like everybody else, Daryl is easily my favorite character.
He shot himself in the leg? I thought he got impaled by his arrow after falling off a cliff. Then the crazy really kicked in.
Yea
I forgot where he got stuck my bad.
I just randomly thought about it this morning, but remember that guy at the camp who was going crazy and dug graves? He got bit and started getting sick although the bite didn't seem that bad to me and well…they left him to die. But this was before they found out about the virus being in everyone already so I get why they left him. But now I'm wondering why his sickness seemed to escalate so badly. Am I just not remembering the amount of damage he took? Or was this is bit of a error to play up the virus like it was killing him?
Then it also makes me think about the gangbangers staying with the old folks...
Like Morgans wife, the bite kills you from a fever/infection. It's not really something they explained, is the zombie bite killing him because it's a normal infection similar to being poisoned from a spider or snake?
Virus from comic standpoint spoilers
! We know something enters the blood stream from the bite, since Rick is able to cut off limbs and save people from dying from the infection, but what exactly is entering the blood stream? The virus is already airborne, is it another form or just a part that the virus needs to react?

Ahh okay. I wasn't too sure. I guess the zombie bite is a catalyst if the person was alive? I thought that the security guards they found when they were dropping off Randal didn't have any marks though…I'm wondering how they turned or if they died by other means.
I finally watched both seasons.
I have to say I really like that show. But. This whole love triangle bla thingy… UGH! I'm so GLAD that this is over! Now I'm just waiting for Whorey to die next.
I feel sorry for Andrea. It's not like I really love her as a character (she's trying to show what immense balls she has way too often) but she's one of the stronger ones in the group now so I felt pity for her being alone.
Favorite Characters: Daryl (Of course) and Glenn.
From the girls.. I think I like Maggie the most. But Andrea is ok, just not awesome.
There's one thing I really didn't understand. Maybe some of you guys can help me out.
Why do they also kill the living? The two guys at the bar. I mean... if I'd be in a group and find some more survivors I'd gladly let them in because.. FUCK IT SOME HUMANS! And isn't it good to have a strong, big group?
If Hershel would have done the same to Rick and the group... Carl would be dead now. Everyone was pissed at Shane for killing Otis but when Rick does the same and kills two people it suddenly is fine and the right thing to do? And seriously? Rescuing that guy from the fence just to kill him off later.. WHERE'S THE FUCKIN LOGIC IN THAT?
I'm reading the comics now, just started the second volume. Till now I have to say.. I like the series much better.
Also, http://shaneistheworst.wordpress.com/ this site is pure gold.

Maybe because those guys they killed had dangerous intentions and would've killed them along with everybody at the farm (if they found it) if they hadn't. If the show didn't make it clear from episode 1 the outbreak has made most of the surviving population prone to doing or thinking things they would presumably never ordinarily do.

Two people that posed a threat to him, Herschel, & Glen and whmo he killed in justified self-defense. Whereas Shane just shot Otis and left him for dead so he could escape with the medical equipment, selfish action but in retrospect they both would've died had Shane not have done it.

Ok, maybe I'm stupid then but when I followed this conversation they had, even giving out lots of information to Rick and Co. I felt no dangerous intentions. Just some guys desperately searching for companionship. Yes, they did became a threat when they couldn't let it go and started grabbing their guns (which was just so stupid of them) but seriously, I would have begged on my knees to Rick to take me in.
Only later came the part with the whole rape story and only THEN it made sense to me.

point taken.

The world is not the same as before and people cannot be simply taken at their word. Whose to say in the middle of the night one of the people doesn't simply kills Rick's group so there's more resources for their group? Hell, some other people in the group completely open fired after Rick gave his explaination of what happened. It would have solved literally nothing to kill the people inside the bar but they tried anyway.
First look at the Governor.
!
Marathoned this not too long ago, great show and I can't wait to see David Morrissey in the show.
