Lol @ the obvious.
Did anyone really think he would do something other than a Getsuga Tenshou?

Given that it was a power-set supposedly unrelated to his shinigami powers, there was a tiny, barely-visible, microscopic chance that Kubo would try to do anything original with it.

Don't give Kubo so much credit. His penis thinks more than he does.
More like when Ginjou turns out to be SUPER MEGA POWERFUL EVIL and they have to break Aizen out from prison.
SAVE AIZEN ARC
Soul Society will be dicks about the issue but will offer no other help instead.
Next We Need An Emo Gay Boy In B!ch…...
Random question.
I don't ever remember if this was confirmed.
If an old person dies, do they appear in SS in the same old person body, or does their age (appearance) get reversed back to the point where they were at their peak in life. (around 24-28 years old)
Would kind of suck to live for thousands of years in the body of an old person, might be better to just kill yourself at the age of 30.

Why would you ever want to die.
You would have to go to SOUL SOCIETY.
Also why did Rukia and Renji's friends die? They didnt have reitsu so they dont age right? So why did they die? And where do spirits go after they die after dieing on Earth?

I don't know, maybe it was touched upon during the early part of the series, but Kubo's consistency as far as passage of time goes….....
Also why did Rukia and Renji's friends die? They didnt have reitsu so they dont age right? So why did they die? And where do spirits go after they die after dieing on Earth?
I thought it was back to earth.
When they die in Soul Society they go back to earth? But… they arent suposed to age, how do they die?
his world makes NO sense.
the Quincy are hated for killing hollows because they then dissapear for good right? and not go to soul society. but lets check out the many unexamined questions regarading soul society
where the hell is this balance that the shinigami are so worried about. seems like peopel in soul society live forever, we have no idea on if they ever go back to earth or how they do. we don't know if they can produce life on their own or if all life there is dead humans from earth. and so on. tis a HORRIBLY explained world.
According to Kenpachi, when you die in Soul Society you're supposedly reincarnated, though that may only be true for guys with a fair amount of reiatsu and it's to Oblivion for everyone else.

how do they die?
they don't age, they don't need food, unless they have raitsu.
so i can't imgaine how anyone dies besides suicide, murder or an accidental death.
how does this balance work? seems like way more babies are born on earth than can possibly fit those 3 conditions to die in soul society to be a constant circle of balance.
so we have
HOW the hell is that balance. Seems like the few thousand hollows the quincy were killing a year means NOTHING.
I guess they only die by getting killed by other Shinigami or Hollows.
Logistics have never been weekly manga's strong suits (witness Konan's six-hundred billion tags or Nami's backstory turning into a bit of a clusterfuck if you think about it too much). Or hell, comics in general.

what happens when someone kills them then? i mean if hollows were murders they went to hell. So shouldn't anyone in soul society then have a hell gate instantly open up behind them if they murder someone?
and again there is no balance. no way is there that many murders in soul society compared to how many births and deaths are happening on earth.
Its obvious to see taht there is a millions more each year going into soul society than ever leaaving. hell quincy's are doing the soul society a favor by reducing that number by a few thousand

They do age, because Hitsugaya is actualy older now then when Yourichi began stalking him.
Same with Gin whom we have seen as a kid, as well as Rangiku, both while in SS.

Could you explain, I am not getting either example.
Also didn't women in SS also give birth ?
There are a few nobles, who where born in Soul Society (Byakuya), but this are rare cases. I think it depends on their reiatsu level, so normal people in Soul Society shouldn't give birth.
If you die in Soul Society you will be reborn on earth. And if you die on earth, you will reborn just like you are in Soul Society (Rukia was for example still a baby, while her sister was a child/teenie.)
Hmm, maybe some souls are reborn instantly? And others not and must go to the Soul Society? In Soul Society are people of all periods, which would make this possible. Or not? This world is crazy.
Regardless of that there are far to many open questions and I don't think Kubo will ever explain them. Not that these explanations wouldn't bring new questions up, that's for sure.
another thing is, why is everyone japanese? or at least has a japanese name. Are there other Soul Societies, or just the one? And if there are other societies, is it like… you die in japan so you go to japanese SS, so that'd be why a 6ft, ginger with huge tits goes by Rongiku. But, if it was like that, why is hell mexican and german themed?

Because Kubo remembers his "pride" as a Japanese person. XD

wasn't it that they aged because they had spirit power and thus also became hungry?
but regardless of whether they age or not. they seem to live for thousands upon thousands of years, so who cares if they do age. It seems to take them 100 years to age 1 year.
again no balance. the whole quincy extinguishing was totally pointless

Answer to all these questions: Japanese go to Soul Society, everyone else goes to a decent afterlife.

And yet the Shinigami Academy has been established for how long, 1000 years ?
Also you think with all that free time on their hands they could actualy , I dunno, try restoring order to the farthest districts instead of allowing them to be apocalyptic hell holes full of murder and filth.

Except the Mexicans, they work for minimum wage in the american heaven for all eternity.

please elaborate on whats wrong with nami's backstory? seems all fluid to me.
Belamiere became a marine, found the two girls and became a mother.
they were a family for a few years, then arlong shows up
she stands up to him and is killed.
nami works for arlong to save the village
i see nothign inconsistent.
and no point thinking of konan. we have so many freaky powers in naruto that make absolutely no sense, and hell she seems to be made of paper somehow. so how is it unreasonable to believe that somehow she could produce billions of paper and be settin gup this defense for years. though must question how it seemed to be a depthless pit. i mean did she create this land over a giant cliff or somethign? i've given up on trying to understand peoples powers in naruto.
BESIDES, we are talking about how the world works in bleach being broken, and comparing it to someones ability being weird is not a reasonable argument. bleach the entire world is broken, naruto you bring up one persons random power.
I remember when that kid who possesed the Parrot died he was still a child when Sabo met him. So maybe they do appear as the same age they died on Earth…
but again it makes no sense on how those kids from Rukia's childhood died.

yea the shinigami seem pointless. seems like all they do is sit behind their walls and train?
the younger shinigami go out into the world and try to fight hollows the best they can, meanwhile the amazing shinigami, like the luetenants and captains sit around on their ass even though they could kill a thousand hollows in a seccond without trying.
they are the most pathetic bunch of people ever. its like the stronger you become the less you do.

A little request. Nothing against you but could you possibly….capitalise your first letters ? I would be very gratefull. :D
This is due to the fact Kubo thought up all these "amazing" people with all these abilities, yet story wise, they have nothing to realy do. The low ranked hollows can be taken of by their underlings and the higher up hollows are almost the same, while the Vasto Lordae were mosltly a legend before Aizen came along.
Hell , without the war happening, none of these people would have done anything in that whole time frame.

I'm sure it was said that only those with Reitsu aged, but those who didnt stay the same "forever," which is why Rukia and Renji aged but their friends didnt. But again their deaths made no sense…
Edit: Whoops I meant Sado**
Also this realy awkward part in early SS about regular people not needing to eat because they don't use reiatsu.
Then in Rukia's flashback some guy is chasing after her party for stealing his stolen water.
I'm sure it was said that only those with Reitsu aged, but those who didnt stay the same "forever," which is why Rukia and Renji aged but their friends didnt. But again their deaths made no sense…
Ok, so people that don't have reitsu don't age. That is what 99% of the people in soul society. They also don't have to eat any food due to not having reitsu. So if a person don't age, doesn't need to feed himself. How do they die?
If dying as kenpachi said makes you be reincarnated as human, and they are worried about balance, when refering to quincy. Then it should mean that every baby born in the world is someone from soul society being reborn.
So then that means that millions of people need to somehow die in soul society every year in order for people on earth to have that amount of babies. So what is killing these millions of people a year in soul society, if not hunger or age? Why aren't the shinigami doing something about it, if it is hollows or a murderer?

Well people kill each other all the time in the Zaraki district because…...I dunno, it's boring over there I guess.

For just a second imagine how many babies are born each year. FYI, it is around 140 million babies born every year.
Now imagine that for each baby to be born one person has to die in Soul Society.
Now imagine that the only way they are dying is by murder. Man to me it sounds like Soul Society might indeed be hell. I couldn't imagine that many murders happening a year. That is WAY more than on earth, counting WARS. I mean 140 million people a year being murdered, that's insane. That makes the holocaust seem like a school shooting. FYI around 60-80 million people died in WW2.
Here's an important question if a person in SS has Reitsu and has to eat, what do they eat? I don't think I've ever seen an animal in Soul Society, are they all vegetarians? That would seem to clash with Kenpachi's personality, though would be kinda funny.
Edit: as for the soul ratio thing, isn't there being other Soul Societies an option? How, xenophobic bleach is it wouldn't be surprising i they make the US. Soul Society an even bigger dump than there SS
There are animals. We know about birds at least so it really isn't such a stretch that there are others as well. Still we never got to see much of SS outskirts so the extent isn't really clear.
The birds we saw in chapter 268 along with a quick peak at the woods there.
!
!
The whole aging thing is a bit inconsistent though. We can assume that for a Shinigami 10 human years make up 1 Shinigami year (take Rukia as prime example Kubo probably wanted her in the same ''age group'' as Ichigo). However if that is true the old geezer should have kicked the bucket long ago as he's presumably 2000+ years of age. Then again maybe Shinigami aren't tied to a human's average life expectancy.
The Vizards are also a very strange case. The SS ordeal happened 100 years ago so around 10 human years yet Hiyori didn't grow a centimeter or hit puberty on that matter. The appearance of the others didn't change that much either that we could assume there was a considerable timeskip. I blame it on Kubo's lack of creativity to come up with younger character designs.
Edit: I don't even know why I took the time to write all that Bleach really shouldn't deserve further reading analysis.
I stopped taking Bleach seriously several chapters ago.
I stopped taking Bleach seriously ever since Grimmjow became a furry.
STOP TRYING TO UNDERSTAND BLEACH. Jesus christ we have this discussion every 100 chapters or so. The shit is impossible to understand.
100 chapters ? That's like over 2 years publication time.
Whoops, finger slip. Every 10 chapters.
Kubo forgets what he has written all the time.
So its impossible to decide what is the 'cannon' explanation for anything.
Speaking of Grimmjow, I guess he did die, either that, or Kubo forgot about him. Same with whats her name, the female espada.
SS peoples can survive getting half of their lower abdomen removed, but apparently Espada with regenerative powers die from sword slashes.

Grimmjow didn't even have regenerative powers but still there were injuries a lot worse. He probably just died of dehydration though by lying around forgotten in the desert for so long.

Speaking of that, even though I don't feel like bringing up any more inconsistencies than we already have, it made me wonder.
Haven't from basically chapter 2 we learn that the ONLY way to kill a hollow is to cut their mask in half or whatever. So how come the espada are dying from stab wounds into the chest and stuff? Or in Ulquiorra's case losing vital HUMAN organs. Shouldn't it be their MASK still? I mean they are essentially still hollows.
Shouldn't it be their MASK still? I mean they are essentially still hollows.
Dude buddy, you'd just feel wrong seeing them smash Szayel's Glasses/Mask. I'd be like Piggy all over again, but no savage grade school boys.
I don't know if someone has done this, but someone with more time on there hands than I. Should make a list of every contradiction in bleach, thus far.
EDIT: wait, wait, wait, no sorry. No one has that kind of time

If only bleach was called Starburst instead.
How is it the anime makes me care about the series?
The only reason I even read Bleach is to see some really creative hollow mask designs, Kubo's one of the best with that type. That and the great choreography in action scenes Kubo has an natural instinct for body flow in his action sequences that they look natural.
But yeah the detail, and backrounds are awful; the characters are stale( Byakuya) and the plot(if it has any) is terrible and convoluted.
Honestly didn't care much for the Soul Society arc as well; it was meh It was not as bad as the later arcs, and not as good as the previous arc(when the series was really good).
Soul Society is perhaps the one of most overrated Shonen arc's in history IMO.
If only bleach was called Starburst instead.
huh, isn't it ironic the protagonist is a japanese kid that's almost pure ginger(Ichigo "Ian Keller" Kurosaki). I'm waiting for a arc where him and Renji start killing off yakuza, while reciting catholic prayer….scratch that then i might start liking bleach.:ninja:
Edit: Is that ironic, or convenient?
