Hey does this mean the OM forum is going to have an exodus of their awful OP membership over here?
AP will need me more the ever.

If he actually is from Manilla, he'll need all the pearls he can get.
hopefully they'll go to mangahelpers.
If he actually is from Manilla, he'll need all the pearls he can get.
If he's actually from Manila he has the best chance of anywhere in the Philippines of getting first world pop culture products like manga.
The best thing is where they say they haven't decided what to do next.
"Well, uh….our whole reason for being is gone but stay tuned guys"
Sorry for creating a third post. I don't usually post compulsively. It's just that, it looks like the internet community is getting a lot of attention lately. Pirate bay closed down, now our manga world is getting affected too.
Thank you for your response anyway. And yes i am from manila, we do experience first world poop here. If worse comes to worst and they do manage to stop scanlations. Yes I can buy manga but i'll probably get to chapter 593 in around 10 years because of the delay hahaha
@JERK:
I don't recognize half the posters on this thread.
Lurkers more willing to cry over a scan-mill then discuss One Piece on the One Piece forum.
Everyones on AP for OP but the fact that OM is shuttin down is a heavy blow to even the shadiest of lurkers and the entire manga reading community over the internet
How is this a bad thing again?

I post occasionally, but lurking is always good stuff. ;)
Also, I don't see you have a problem with people discussing this. Though, there might be a few whiners out there. Eventually they will learn the ways of the IRC and Google. It's better to educate the people then leave them whining and begging for help.
Also, sometimes not being recognized can be a good thing, depending on what you are recognized for, right?
Edit:
Also the Onemanga forums aren't shutting down so there will probably not be an influx of said people coming to AP, but the more the merrier.
Pirate bay closed down
Did it really?
Everything seems in order.
The Pirate Bureau seems to be gone, but they weren't affiliated (anymore) with TPB anyway.
All you're losing is a portal.
There willl probably still be others, otherwise just search for the individual releases like in the old days.
it had to happen some time.
i'll admit though, OM was decent for keeping track of series that i'd forget I was reading (like holyland)
OneManga sucks.
all three of these threads need to be merged.
Real fucking talk.
This is ridiculous.
Still plenty of underground manga viewing sites on the web.
exactly. Or just follow the scan groups themselves.
Onemanga just made it easy for people. Too many series I'd forget I was reading and after a minute on OM i'd be like "ohhhhh yeah, that one"
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
They my favourite Manga Site. Best Imho.
he'd use your tears to wash his car if he could. But discuss away
mangafox is good.
Manga Stream rules. Onemanga was dead already. Carry on.
As far as they don't target mangastream or the other major scanlating groups, it'll be fine. After all, Onemanga was a dumpster; a place where one could read bad quality mangascans. The only real use that place had were those little series, which don't attract much attention. Those need a tiny bit of work to be read now, but even them aren't a problem big enough to go screaming your throat sore.
I wonder what they're planning to do and why they didn't have their servers and company registered in a country where actions like this are not prohibited, places such as Tuvalu or some another small countries without a proper source of income of their own. They wouldn't have any problems now, if they did so in the first place.
I live in the Philippines and you don't know how much this country suck.
I know how you feel since I also live in the Philippines. For years I've been looking for One Piece manga volumes by Viz in various bookstores, and I've found NOTHING except for Bleach, Naruto, FMA and Eyeshield 21. It makes me sad, really.
But if Mangastream also closes down, then I would have to resort to IRC.
This has all come about because of Japanese and US publishers getting together recently to stop scan sites. So they're aiming for more than one. They are threatening more than 30 scanlation sites, which weren't named. Oh great.
They're shutting down the manga browsers not the scanlation sites right? In that case, keep track of the scanlators of all your series and check their websites regularly for updates. One Manga was pretty much the common man's manga site. It was simple, comfortable and convenient but it was hardly essential.
torrents will save the day, you'll see.
The illegal world will die omg?
See ya all guys in dark streetsat 11pm trading your lunch food for some crappy scans of spoiler material. Hahahahahahahahaha!
meh, I never used OneManga anyways.
"My nig, you got some scans from Naruto?"
"Yuh, how much you got?"
"I don't got any money. That's why I'm looking for scans."
"Well, you're looking at the wrong place son."
"My nigga, I'd suck your dick for them! Please! I need them!"
"Get the fuck away from me faggot!"

Thank god for torrents.
Ok for all the smart ones around where can i get my manga again as i was using OM for all my manga needs. I live in Malta and we don
t get Manga at all here so i have no other choice but to view manga online.
The main cause for concern for the forums isn't the mass closing of manga as much as one piece at one manga ceasing to existing. Meaning any one looking for past chapters won't have an easy reliable source.
The scary part would be if the trend of mass closings of manga sites continues. Then there won't be any where for any manga to be openly viewed. It'll turn into some black market "hey email me that copy" stuff.

mangastream.com (higher quality scans, less manga)
mangafox.com (if you want a huge library of manga like OM, but with OM quality)

The next day politicians will start a debath about censoring naruto/japanese mangas because of the poor childs who go illegal to get their drug fix. It must be tha evil.
Air Gear, Ushio and Tora, Psyren, Zettai Children, and Negima.
I better find out who scans them all at this point now.
a legal alternative won't matter unless its something akin to funimation and the anime.
We are all caught up to japanese and viz is how far behind that?
SOOO not gona wait years to know what happens when i can usually log onto a sight weekly.
Captialism blows :o
I think that's what he meant by legal alternative.
And in case you haven't heard, "One Piece" Vol. 54 just came out in America.
so i have one week to backup complete of onemanga….
shit..
yes i am saving each and every manga.
expect torrent soon
So does that mean you'll be creating your own one piece/bleach/naruto vault for us to look at?
I know Mangastream scanlates Psyren.
Yes I can buy manga but i'll probably get to chapter 593 in around 10 years because of the delay hahaha
Actually we just got Vol. 54 in America.
:( I never saw this coming.
But oh well~ I only read the obscure manga on there anyways.
Guess I should've seen it coming when Bokurano was taken off for no reason :/. Meh, I was starting to fade towards Mangafox anyways but OM did make it reasonably easy.
So does that mean you'll be creating your own one piece/bleach/naruto vault for us to look at?
i'll be somehow providing you access to all onemanga stuff even after it closes.
I stopped going there when they took down soul eater
Isn't their a branch site from onemanga called 1000manga.com?
I think that's what he meant by legal alternative.
And in case you haven't heard, "One Piece" Vol. 54 just came out in America.
Already bought and already bought the next 3.
Buying OP is not THE PROBLEM!
But lets try to get liar game or veritas or psyren in my land.
So supporting evil pirates will be the thing to get my liar game fix. logical conclusion.
@Ferno:
I'll start doing that more now I guess.
Mission accomplished Shueisha
But seriously, this is a big triumph for them, that's for sure. One Manga was the big boy of manga sites. I'm pretty sure it was the most visited manga site on the net, I always used to see kids reading things on it at school.
That's very-very-very sad news :(
Such a low blow…I'd always go there to start a new manga series...since they are very easy to navigate...farewell OneManga :(
'One'. Onemanga It's a little sad to see Onemanga go. They were the first site that I actually started to actively use for manga. It was the site that I enjoyed the One Piece series on for a while…alot of memories on that site.
Looks like they let there conscious get the best of them and yet they still want us to visit the forum and their Facebook page? Yeah aiight.
As we say in the hood.
One.
Honestly with all that's going on, I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner. And due to how I always screw up IRC and rather not waste space on my HD for it, I guess I rather just read manga through other means (like buying and actually owning them…or finding them through some other methods)
