I see so much comedical potential for Perona in the Crew I don't want to get this wasted.
If she won't join the crew for a little while, why having her reappear at the beginning only to bitch around with Zoro? Why no goodbye a la: Hope to see you never again?
Oda is playing with us all, as he is always.Reasons for her to go on the ship? She don't want to be lonely. She has experienced loneliness and didn't like it. She even cared for her injured former enemy to have company. She is abandoned by her crew (by her sweet animals), the only person she knows is Zoro. She even helped him to the island, only to be alone again? That could be the first sign of friendship she ever experienced.
And why hasn't Oda shown us an amazing Perona-sweet chopper moment yet? Will he really waste this perfect comedic opportunity after showing us Chopper and Porsche?The crew has three strong fighters, their is only room for a forth one, who can fight unterwater or in the air. Perhaps a giant, but what else? Another goofy char, especially a female, would be great. Perona could join the Usopp, Chopper fraction, they surely would have fun.
A background is quickly given, perhaps an island of the new world is her hometown or she's the lost real sister of Nami (Nami was adopted after a war ruined he town, her home can be anywhere and wie might see it)(So I don't believe that Perona and Nami are related).
Their are signs for both ways, her loining and her leaving. So we have to wait.

I'm calling it. Duval might be inside the ship. He wasn't shown to give his masters a goodbye. Not to mention Luffy hasn't seen him yet. Duval protected their ship. It's a must that the captain of that ship personally thank Duval. But it didn't happen. All we saw is Sanji talking to him. There should be more from him. I can't just believe that Oda will leave things like that. He should have been shown maybe in at least one page of the last chapter. But he's not. So I'm calling it. Duval sneaked inside the ship hoping the SH will accept him as their nakama. He might be afraid that his old fugly face might come back so he wanted to be always near Sanji from now on.

I think we really need to be careful about definitions here. In a certain sense, I think Perona is already part of the Strawhats' extended crew. Like Vivi, Gan, Ivankov and all the "teachers" in the past 2 years, Perona is a nakama and someone who will probably be at Luffy's side for the final showdown when the world is at stake. However at the same time, I don't believe Perona or any of these others will ever sail with Luffy on the Thousand Sunny.
In this thread, I'm assuming that by "Nakamates", we're talking about people who will actually travel with the crew on the Thousand Sunny as it heads towards OnePiece. And I just don't see Perona, Jinbei or Boa doing that…

Wano predictions: There will be 5 acts; All Straw Hats will get fights, some in Act 4; Big Mom Pirates will arrive; Carrot will have her moment, but won't join; Yamato will be a Kouzuki samurai and Wano's Guardian; Shanks will visit Luffy in Act 5; Next arc is Mary Geoise.

In my opinion no fish-DF or something close to that exists in the world of OP, because that would nullify the only negative aspect of a DF..not being able to swim anymore.
And being a human with a fish DF who can`t swim anymore, nor be in water is more than useless.I guess to doesn`t have that problem, Oda introduced in his story the fishman race, which have the ability of fishes, but not the side-effect of a DF.

Yeah the look is definetly better then Boa and yeah I agree I always saw to much of a Robin resemblance on Boa and that one of the reasons I didnt want her to join, yeah its kinda stupid or totally even but it really bothered me even if her gags with the crew would be great.
Perona always seemed to me like 16/20 just like Nami, I guess she should be 18/22 now for sure.

So Perona and Hancock are out, and Jinbei's chances have only gotten better since we started suggesting him back in ID. Hopefully the timeskip was as kind to him as it was to Perona (rather than totally unchanged Hancock).

That'll definitely shake things up a bit. We'll get plenty of new characters to fight over. That process is really the first thing that could shake me from my stance.

Bonney… is an interesting situation, and it happened with her back and forth with Akainu. However, interviews claim that Oda decided to introduce the supernovas at the last minute, and I can't believe he'd do that with a future crew member.
I do think that a few of them (Bonney/Drake/Kid/Law/etc) were characters he had plans for, and simply decided to give them early introductions. I still don't think he'd do that with a crew member, though. Also, her DF doesn't seem to lend itself too well to 600 more chapters of use and development.

It is really interesting that Oda "wasted" time changing her outfit that much and detailed but all the other helpers are looking the same.
