I might go see this for Kara alone:

Shazam was decent.
-
Just saw the Flash here, and really fun movie.
I think microwave baby is going to hang on the internet for a bit after actual release.
-
Microwave baby?
-
Saw it last night, such a fun movie to watch. Didn't feel like 2h and 35min at all.
-
The Flash
-
Cut so deep you can’t stop the bleeding
-
Flash is not doing well:
https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl2225635841/?ref_=bo_hm_RECENT_WEEKEND_WIDGET_1 -
That’s an understatement.
-
I do wonder how much of it has to do with Erza Miller.
-
DC films (at least this universe, excluding The Batman and Joker) had 6 consecutive flops I think. Think the brand in general having fatigue is playing a part, plus the Universe overhaul is probably making people think these films is obsolete. But yeah, could see Ezra playing a part as well.

Unless we have a Time Machine and someone figures out a way to convince Miller to not make themselves a public nuisance we’ll never know.
-
Just enjoyed The Doom That Came to Gotham.

We've got our new Supes.

-
My personal preference was Bill (Luthor), Phoebe (Lois), and Corenswet (Clark). I'm open to seeing how this plays out tho. I'm seeing Hoult and Bill as some who are up for Lex so far.

I went to YouTube and looked up a clip of Brosnahan and this scene from Mrs. Maisel is fucking amazing. She's going to kill it.
-
ooooh, Rachel is a superb actress! I've seen her in Marvelous Mister Maysel and she does an excellent job ballancing drama and comedy. She has great timing. It'll be a pleasure to watch her!
-
This is . . . . interesting.
It doesn't even say if it's a movie or a series, so I'll put it here for now.
-
@Satsuki That's some bangin' music in that trailer.
This looks really cool. Harley and Joker's designs look really nice.
-
Their designs are fabulous. Only anime would make sure to make Joker look like a hottie under the makeup.
The only thing is it only shows Harley and Joker (and Waller) here, it doesn't show any other squad members. So I don't know how truly "Suicide Squad" it will be.
-
Damn, Nagatsuki Tappei (the writer and creator of Re:Zero) is co-writing this? This is going to be amazing.
-
Loved Harley's design even thought it's not revolutionary, but I don't know what to make of Joker's smile painting over half his face. It's not ugly, bishounenly hot ofc, but still does not hit the mark for me...
Would like to see te rest of said squad, please.
-
Upsetting that they've made me find The Joker sexy. Ugh. Fuck. Fine.
-
I'm surprised that Fillion is playing Guy and not Hal, but it should still be an interesting ride. I'm liking that Clark is obviously going to be a sign of a younger generation of superhero coming to the forefront in an already established universe.
-
Not wise to give a Hispanic Granny a machine gun:
The more I hear Khaji-Da, the more I love her.
-
Nice Samus Aran cosplay.
-
Those 3 being in Legacy aligns with Safran saying they want to approach this in a way where the more known characters boost the lesser known ones. Hal and John having their series says they are the main Lanterns.
Characters like Terrific, Guy, and Hawkgirl are mostly secondary. Using Legacy to launch them whether support or minor cameo is not a bad start. Guy has been positioned as older than John and Hal at points. I'll wait and see how they treat this guy.
Hawkgirl is 1 of my favorite characters and it is odd that Merced is finally getting a DC role after being up for Barbara and Cyclone.
Gunn tweeted the Terrifics like 4 months ago, so I can see where they might be going.

The villain? Lol, didn't even think of it, but yeah, it kinda does.
-
I guess all he needs to do is buff up, slap some makeup on, and we're set.
-
A lot of opportunity here for not just groups, but factions.
Holt - Terrifics as Gunn has tweeted for over a year now.
Depending on which of the 3 they choose - Thanagarians are a possibility
Guy - Lantern Corps with the Hal/Stewart series showcasing the main Lanterns
No origin story being the current trend brings Clark into an established world of heroes. I'll wait and see how they handle this.

The Flash Total Domestic Box Office is a Bigger Disaster Than Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern
Green Lantern has been surpassed as DC's biggest flop and the Batgirl cancellation becomes even more pointless in hindsight. I expect this to be a joke in Deadpool 3.

It does seem to be getting worse.

Would I wouldn’t do to see all the armchair quarterbacks who swore up and down that the Batgirl film was canceled because of test audiences not liking it and arguing Zaslav was doing the intelligent thing. Now desperately trying to reconcile Zaslav’s decision in light of Flash tanking horribly.
Granted some of them will likely try to argue Miller’s non binary identity having some correlation to the failure of the movie and probably misgender Miller as at least one insider giving his thoughts have.
But it would still be interesting to see.
-
They both have prod. cost in the same ballpark 200M.
Flash ($267.7M) is still going at the theatre with digital destroying any further change tonight. The 2nd week usually determines its legs anyway. GL ended at $219.8M. Neither coming anywhere close to recoup cost, so it seems odd that the article is making a big deal out of a domestic gross difference.
Then I remember that some made their minds up with this film before this year started. Flash came out at a time when Warner did its best to piss folks off, the Miller individual had a new article on them every other week, and DC fans ended last year asking what is the point of any of these films when the shared universe starts 2024. Green Lantern came out with Reynolds being heavily forced by Hollywood and was too often attached to "flops".
Batgirl was cancelled more due to the industry being against films getting streaming releases than any test or comment about quality. 2021, the industry was prepared to fasten the death of theatres to segue to streamers taking over, but with quarantine being lifted, the fight to keep theatres alive won out. Even if the death of theatres are inevitable anyway.
Blue Beetle was in a similar situation, but quickly was changed to theatrical before it filmed, so financials could be adjusted. Batgirl suffered from going into filming with Warner not wanting to budge on making it a theatre release. It was doomed before it could go into filming. This why I don't believe any testing excuse.

Knowing Ryan Reynolds, it likely will be.

Finally watched Flash. 7/10
Nothing special stands out. Just a decent film.
I like these posters so far.
-
First reactions to Blue Beetle are looking good:
https://movieweb.com/blue-beetles-post-credit-scenes-confirmed/ -
Meh, I don't trust any of them.
They pretty much said the same thing about the Flash and that ended up being a paper thin, bland, almost generic film that relied on cheap cameos for hype.
-
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/blue_beetle
Was not expecting the movie to be rated this high, it honestly looked generic as hell to me
-
I thought it had a lot of potential. Looks like I was right.
And c'mon, it's got George Lopez in it.
-
I liked JL: Warworld. Not in love with the animation, but it isn't horrible. More gore than expected. Always appreciate big 3 interactions.

Yeah, I just can't get used to the new "Tomorrowverse" animation style either, I think it looks cheap.
Warworld was good, it's a pity they didn't have the runtime to flesh out the various worlds a bit more though. -
Blue Beetle was alright. Xolo wasn’t the strongest protagonist, but the family aspect was strong and his supporting cast helped carry the levity and weight of the film. I did tear up a few times, but I think that’s due to events I just recently went through.
-
Finally got around to seeing Blue Beetle, which I guess no one saw or talked about. Went in expected a serviceably fun superhero movie and that's exactly what I got.
-
Looks pretty fun, NGL
-
I'm really hoping that this film is setting Superman up as a sort of underdog within the DCU. I think that would be a really good twist on how he's typically portrayed in film. He's not the first in a world of superheroes, but he is the enema the world needs.
-
Ummmmm yeah.
