I think that was confirmed yeah? Cus you can transfer the special Raikou, Entei etc from the movies onto it
Oh kewl. Good to know.

Yeah its confirmed but they said it would have certain limitation, i figure it must be the same as the ones from Gen 2 to Gen 1, new pokemons or old pokemons with new moves couldnt be traded but they might put other conditions to prevent massive training of overleveled pokemons to pass the game fast in the first run.
The game will come in 4 months so they should reveal more information about in the next months, CoroCoro should be out in one week its said to explain more things about the new battle system and also one new pokemon would be revealed im expecting the ratata/sentret/zigzagoon/bidoof of this generation to be revealed XD.
Sorry to have skipped like 59 pages of this thread but my time needs to be elsewhere. I was actually a first generation Pokemon gamer, at which point I was a very hardcore otaku level, possibly at the clinically obsessed level.
As such when I renounced my Pokedom, I renounced it hard. It took me until this year, so nearly 10 years for me to pick up another Pokemon game. Even then after years of willpower training it took a bit out of me, such is it's addictive nature. That doesn't matter if I'm moderate about it like.
This time if I can't get a pokemon on my own I probably won't care about it, unless my friends can help me.

Has this been posted before? I found it funny and true.
(For those of you who don't get it, he's acting as if Gen I was Gen V instead)
I found that pretty funny and true. We are pretty harsh, but it's hard to deny that we have a very destinct nostalgic charm for Gen I. Still, I though Gen I and III were very solid. II had its really great additions, but IV was not my cup of tea. I really didn't care for many of the new evolutions, but so far Gen V looks good.
If the pokemon aren't exclusive to the game and if I've already caught them on fire red or red, blue or platinum I don't care lol. I'm not going to get THAT obsessive again. And yes I was a poster child for otaku back in the day.

Heheh… funny thing is, although i played red and blue a lot as a kid, watched the anime, etc. I have never cared much for the first generation. For me, too many of the pokemon are boring, ugly or just uninspired, and i've always thought that. I think gen 2 pokemon are superior, simply in terms of originality and design, most of them are either cuter, cooler or more unique than the first 150. Also, unlike with the other generations, i like every single one of the second gen pokemon. The third generation had a huge style shift, with a lot more emphasis on just plain weird designs, and they've never really done much for me, either. Gen 4 pretty much retains the 'weird' style from gen 3, although its a bit better about it. So far, gen 5 looks good.
Gold and Silver were my fave games yet I wasn't hugely impressed with the Gen 2 pokes. Octillery line, Mantine, Quilfish, Dunsparce, Granbull line, Marill line, Smeargle, Cleffa, Igglybuff and Pichu I thought were pretty poor.
I do love Stantler and Girafarig tho.
Legends from the earlier games had a more symbolic feel to them. It felt as if they lived up to their names. These days I look at them and don't really notice or care how they earn their legendary titles. You have to read their info and not rely on first impression.
I think it's a shame how you HAVE to have played previous games to catch em all. I'm not interested in buying every game they make.
@Friend:

You dont Wifi gave you that, besides most pokemons can be caught in this generation old ones and all, the only non catachable are Deoxys and Jirachi but they gave them by wifi and spin off games in this generation also.
Oh well then, Platinum still gave me 240 hrs of quality gaming despite not having all the pokemon. A good investment heh, I'm looking forward to getting it back on thursday.
:P when i say generation i mean all the games, Heart Gold gives you the rest of the legendaries without having the gameboy games, plus if you go to some forums you can get eveything in Platinum no need for more games.
Hey everyone. I don't really want to look through all these pages and I'd rather ask you guys than anyone else.
Can someone give me a blow by blow of which games all fall in what generations (like, where does Heart Gold and Soul Silver fall.. and what the difference was between those and the regular Gold and Silver)?
Also, which ones can trade with black and white? Thanks in advance.
Well…
Generation One- Red, Green, Blue, Yellow
Generation Two- Gold, Silver, Crystal
Generation Three- Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald
Generation Four- Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver.
Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver, at least, can trade with Black and White.
The official American website has info on all the new features of HeartGold and SoulSilver.

The 4 generation had Diamond, Pearl, Platinum and the remakes of Gold and Silver those will be the ones with compatibility with Black and White.
The diferecens, well if you didnt play any game of this generation, it has many diferent things in the battle system if you want to play online with some good competition but ingame its ignorable, you have 493 pokemons instead of 251, Gym leader rematches, Pokethalon and many other things im sure i missed.
Never knew there was an actual Pokemon Green in Gen 1. I heard rumors, but it was mostly Red and Blue.
Green is blue. They just changed the name in translation, but didn't brother for the remake.

Thanks. You too Getsuga.
So can like, any of the generation 3's trade with 4, ultimately making it so you can get Gen 3's to Gen 5?
Oh right Getsuga- I thank you for your assistance in the matter. ^_^
Thanks. You too Getsuga.

Sort of. All generations are obtainable in the more recent games with radar or radio post Elite 4, but different systems creates compatibility issues. But the recent games do have the ability to utilize and creature.
If you have Diamond, Pearl, HeartGold or Soulsilver, you can obtain about 430 critters in the one game on your own with a lot of effort.
Legendaries and version exclusives are a bit iffier, but HeartGold and Soulsilver have most of them.
The big trick with the wifi trading is you have to see a critter before you can look for it in trade, and some critters just don't appear in the course of the game, so you need a friend.
Basically it is impossible to get all ~490 completely on your own with one cartridge, even with the wifi. But you should be able to get all your favorites, unless you just love legendaries.

nes pokemons, that gear looks like agurumon Xd, i think it isa pokemon
Also according to Serebii, the new Professor is named Araragi(Pokebeach says the professor is female but Serebii doesn't). There's also a new Chinchilla Pokemon called Chiramii(Normal type). It's abilities are Cute Charm or Technician and knows a move called Sweep Slap. There's also a new bird Pokemon(name unknown) and a Pokemon called Munna(there's not a clear picture of it yet, just it's name is known). There's also a few rumors posted by Pokebeach but I won't discuss rumors.
Interesting… Female professor huh? About time.
Mouse Pokemon I assume is this generation's Rattata? Since it appeared alongside this generation's Pidgey I'm taking a guess. Looks kinda cool, but good God that pig thing is gay. It's pink with a floral print! What the heck? There better be a manly counterpart to that which has racing striped and a bazooka mounted on its back.
Really like the gears though. That looks like a mon I'd want immediately, especially if it evolves. I like Pokemon being slightly abstract. Reminds me of Magnamite, but in a good way.
Reminds me of Magnamite, but in a good way.
Looks nice agree, but it has the feeling that they don't have much more ideas …
"Hey dude! Know what? I made a new PKMN!"
"Alright show it to me"
"Here it is!"
"Looks like Magnemite..."
"Magnemite was a MAGNET but this is GEAR!"
So the new bird Pokemon is a pigeon. Too bad they already used Pidgey, -Otto, and -Ot.
here all 7 new poke
!
Fire Gorilla and Sir Crocodile look wonderful.
Electric zebra looks neat. Not loving the fire gorilla, since we had a fire monkey starter already. Crocadile looks allirght. Gears look retarded. Pink flowery thing is weird.
New ratatatta looks better than bidoofus did, at least. And technician is a legitimatley useful attribute. Token generic three form bird is… generic.
Really dissapointed that the backgrounds are STILL boring grads and nothing else. Cripes. Dragon Warrior and Phantasy Star upgraded the look of their boring backgrounds a long time ago, why can't they?
I'm gonna call that horse ''Ixion'' instantly.
Hmmm some interesting ones. I quite like the gears as long as they're not this sets Plusle + Minun, Illumise + Volbeat, Lunatone + Solrock.
Flowery Pink thing looks pants. I'll name it Sanji.
Fire Gorilla certainly looks cooler than Monferno. Why am I reminded of Wario? When I first looked at it I wanted to shout how it could be the Fire Pig's final form but nah.
And that cute fluffy tiny goatee thing BETTER evolve into something with a huge awesome goatee.
And how long till we see the new prof in porn? 2 hours?
From serebii.
[hide]The Mouse Pokémon shown is said to be called Chiramii (チラーミィ). It is Normal-type, the Chinchilla Pokémon. It is 0.4m tall, 5.8kg. It's abilities are Cute Charm & Technician. It has a move called Sweep Slap (スイープビンタ) which attacks several times consecutively.
The pig like Pokémon is called Munna(ムンナ). It is the Dream Eater Pokémon and is Psychic-type. It is 0.6m tall and 23.3kg. It has the abilities Forewarn & Synchronise. It has an attack called Telekinesis (テレキネシス) which makes the opponent float in the air.
The strange dual cog Pokémon is called Gear (ギアル). It is the Gear Pokémon, is a pure Steel-type. It is 0.3m, 21.0kg and has the abilities Plus & Minus. It has a new attach called Gear Saucer (ギアソーサー) which attacks multiple times
The bird Pokémon called Mamepato (マメパト). It is the Baby Pigeon Pokémon. is Normal-Flying type. It is 0.3m and 2.1kg. It has the Super Luck ability or a new ability called Pigeon Heart (はとむね) which seems to prevent its Defense stat from lowering
The ape Pokémon called Hihidaruma (ヒヒダルマ). It is the Flaming Pokémon, is Fire-type. It is 1.3m and 92.9kg. It has a new ability called Encourage (ちからづく)
The zebra Pokémon called Shimama (シママ). It is the Charged Pokémon, is Electric-type. It is 0.8m and 29.8kg. Its abilities are LightningRod & Motor Drive. It has a new attack called Wild Bolt (ワイルドボルト) which hurts both Shimama and the Pokémon)
The crocodile Pokémon called Meguroko (メグロコ). It is the Desert Crocodile Pokémon, is Ground-type & Dark-type. It is 0.7m and 15.2kg. Its abilities are Intimidate & Earthquake Spiral (じしんかじょう) which raises its attack when the opponent is Knocked Out
The new Professor Dr. Araragi (アララギ博士 ) has a Chiramii
There is a new feature called the C Cog which allows you to play with various connection capabilites. To what end is not known, but there is a screenshot of the player in the Pokémon Centre with various connection stats at the bottom.
In this game Global Terminal inside of the Pokemon center and it is called "Random Match". It just says that you can play freely with people from all over the country in random match mode. Then says that in spring 2011 that foreign players will join. The Global Terminal is now also located in the Pokémon Centres[/hide]
Hrm. Super luck on the bird huh? Thats Absol's INCREDIBLY USEFUL ability. Bird might get some use after all, assuming it has some high crit slash moves to really take advantage of the ability.
And the gears have plus and minus abilities. Uggh. Meant to be used in a set and only in 2 on 2 battles. LAME. Though I suppose now that TWO critters have the ability, you could mix and match Plusle and Minun with the gears and have one of each. But the 2 on 2 abilities are incredibly lame.
And how long till we see the new prof in porn? 2 hours?
If that. I'm sure someone is changing the hair on porn they were already drawing at this very moment.
Can't wait to see what that crocodile evolves into. And it gets a power boost when it beats an adversary? Sounds good to me. The sprockets look pretty gimmicky, unfortunately. Fire-ape holds promise too.
It would be quite amusing if the crocodile could turn into OP's Croc lol. I know that can't happen due to copyrite but still it is an amusing thought. I would like to see what the electric zebra can do but I would probs still have Luxray as my main electric.
Crocodile and Gorilla is cool.
Zebra can evolve into something cool.
Now if it could become a massive beastly zebra, basically an almighty horse with stripes XD
Not a big fan of the zebra, but that crocodile is pretty cool. Took them long enough to make a crocodile pokemon!
Yeah wierd considering the crocodile isn't a made up creature!
Wasn't the water starter of gen 2 something like a crocodile?
Actually come to think of it Tododile was crocodile based, took me a while to get one like, i had to use the online trade which for some pokemon was a long chain. Getting a fire monkey (forgot name) was really difficult on Platinum. BTW will my pokemon from Platinum be useless or will there be some way for me to transfer them to pokemon Black and White?
Nice. It seems they have found some creativity.
Oh wow, holy shit I didn't see the other, and damn I wish I had! Those three are AWESOME and would be immediate additions to my party since I'm starting Smugleaf. Finally some really cool pokemon to get pumped about.
I love that fire ape and that croc is quite nice as well.
Not too crazy about the pink flowery fat thing, nor the cogs. The pigeon is extremely generic, fire gorilla's ok, zebra's ok, and frankly, the crocodile reminds me too much of the ground-hippo from Gen 4.
I'm totally naming that crocodile Mr. 0!
I hope the gears work well on it's own and better when paired with another. Unlike Plusle/Minun.
Just woki up Holy shiet the Gorilla and the Crocodile are pure win haha.
I only had seen two in the morning, the only i didnt like the the ball with legs lol fucking strange thing.
The new ratata(Chinchila pokemon) look cute and nice also.
Y'know, the new professor is reminding me of Ms. Frizzle some some reason…
Man I'm loving it.
Gorrila is wonderful, zebra and Croc are cool, and I just love the gears.
