My hope list:

• Take the XD/Colosseum route and put a little more emphasis on story and less with the Youngsters and their "LET ME SHOW YOU MAH POKEMANZ".

• More support for Poison, Ground, Ice, Normal, and Bug-types.

• Keep doing what they did in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and drop allusions to past games as a bonus.

• Make the rival an asshole again. Only this time, keep it that way for the whole game.

• More Giovanni.

• Increase the roles of the gym leaders and Elites in the story (Lt. Surge, Pryce, Blaine, Koga, Sabrina, Volkner, Claire, Drake, Will, Karen, Bertha, Agatha, Glacia…All wasted potential).

• No more of this trade with an item for evolution crap. I fucking wasted my time for a PorygonZ that way.

• Colosseum-like arenas for battle (Where you can gain experience). It'd be a level-grinder's dream.

• More support for everything in the first and third generations they've been ignoring.

So, of course, there will be a balance. You can't, however, expect them to axe the baby pokemon concept (and there will probably be more rat clones).

• No more shitty, useless HMs like Whirlpool and Defog.
• Tyrannosaurus Pokemon.
• Munchlax easier to find.
• Improve some of the naturally-learned movepools.
• Bad guys have decent selection of Pokemon that don't give you crap EXP like Magma/Aqua and Galactic.
• Less roaming Legendaries.
• Bit more emphasis on storyline, including Gym Leaders and Elite Four. 4th Gen was a step in the right direction.
• No more constant reminders of the weather between every. single. turn.

• He's the FINAL Gym Leader, which says a lot about him.
• He's the LEADER of Team Rocket, a gang that's known for stealing Pokémon.
• He's a master of Ground-types.

This lazy ass, orders two dumbasses and a talking cat to catch an Electric-type Pokémon.

Where is his Gym located? Virdian City? Where are most Pikachu are found? What? Virdian Forest?
and Power Plant. WHICH isn't difficult for this Ground-type trainerGym Leader.

Didn't he also give you a Master Ball?

I'm sorry, but I hate Giovanni.
Most of this hatred comes from the anime back in the day, but 'til this day, every time I see him, I get annoyed and want to play Red/Blue and fight him with Venusaur, Arcanine, Blastoise, Mewtwo, and Pikachu.

Dude Giovanni is such a badass in the manga. But in the manga he single handedly caught so many badass pokemons and legendaries. But I digress.

What needs to be in the new game…a revamped daycare/breeding center. I mean the current one is alright but it's just annoying how when they level up while I'm away they delete there current movesets.

Best idea yet, don't make Pokemon learn HM moves at all. I mean, you can't tell me my Syther can't cut a stinking tree on his own? And my Charizard can't fly me on his back? How bout a Tyranitar using rock smash? What about Machamp moving boulders. And Heaven forbid my Wailord be able to ferry me across the water. HMs I always found unessary and useless.
They should just make it to were after beating x gym leader you can command your pokemon to do x ability with out an HM… also, Defog, worst HM ever...

Giovanni can be lame. I remember kicking his level 50 Dugtrio's ass in Yellow with my level 12 Spearow, simply because he didn't know any non-ground moves. But I digress.

I would like to see less of a limit on TMs. I don't see a reason why they should have only one use when there are so many pokemon to train. If they need a limit, then just give the TMs more than one use or at least make them all infinitely available by other means (buyable, winnable, repeatable quests).

Finally a Pokemon game where the female and male trainer look equally awesome!! Discounting the remakes of course. I always felt like the male trainer had gotten the shit end of the stick in Sapphire and Diamond. He looked so damn stupid. Still have to say that the design on the female trainer looks pretty ballin', but from those two front shots of the male he looks pretty cool too! And damn do those visuals look awesome! New battle screen/system? Yes please!

They are never going to change the gameplay and concept of the story anyway, but on a new system they'd be at least forced to finally improve the graphics again.

I don't know why everyone is so impressed, since they simply changed the camera angle. The graphics, especially the city, aren't even nearly the best the DS can do. GTA Chinatown, Dragon Quest Monsters, and so on look much better.

In such a series, with a complete lack of innovation, one game (plus one remake perhaps) per system is enough, at least for me and anything else is a cheap cash-in, like the spin offs.
But each to his own, I guess…

It really isn't, but its mostly the fact that the 3DS is in 3D (which I see as a cashin geminic on the 3d hype). I was glad when the game was announced on the DS, cause for 1) We don't know how exactly the 3DS works yet or if it will even succed. 2) 3D images for excess time hurts my eyes and I play Pokemon for excess amounts of time. 3) Don't have to buy a new handheld for 2 games plus the third version and two possible remakes, cause that's all I really play on the DS (that and Mario Kart and Chessmaster).

Nintendo releasing the games on the DS is a smart marketing move. For the way I see it, for the 3DS may not do as they expected. If it flops and the games are on the 3DS, many may not buy the game and system. This way they can still sale the game on their most successful handheld.

On an unrelated note, anyone else think the villains will be called the knights? I'm thinking the White Knights and Black Knights, two groups at constant odds with each other for sole power over the region. Yet, I doubt it.

The black ones will be our typical ''plunge the world into darkness blahblahblah'', while the white ones will want to pull off some kind of Instrumentality plot or something, since white can represent loss of individuality and in Asia it's often associated with death.

Here's an idea. How about you being able to have an unlimited amount of pokemon? I'm sick of catching all these cool pokemon but not being able to use them because their levels wouldn't be up to par and I wouldn't be able to match the games growing level of pokemon as I progress. Of course there's the "taking fun out of the game" problem when you can beat anyone because your pokemon would outnumber theirs forty to one but there can be a limit of only being able to use six pokemon per battle. This way, there's a lot of fun in using a variety of different pokemon.

I remember that too. That also explains why they haven't made any creative machines like back then… though they all end up being blown to bits.

@And as for this game's graphics, I still don't think this is a big step at all. They just lowered the horizon line and probably added 8 way run(could have been in HG an SS). If it does have 8 way run, I imagine how revamping the bike control would be... For now I'll just doubt it.

They need to go back to the G/S route. 2 Big Legends, 3 sub-legends and 1 or 2 hidden legends. More importantly:

They need to reasonable.

A 10 year old trainer being able to catch and or defeat 3 deities? Giratina seemed like the only reasonable one between them. Arceus should have never had a form. Hell, it should have never even been named. A God being caught by a 10 year old? Some god.

Have they done anything on the Sun and the Moon or is that what Ho-Oh and Lugia are supposed to be? If not, then that's what their legends need to be based on.
