Okay, almost all the Solid/Ivotas stuff has been handled from what I saw, leading to, once again, mostly a Paulie/Franky stalemate. Some points, especially on Solid's side, simply didn't work out very well and, in the end, it looks like either one could join.
So I'll take the time replying to patz!
"You're not making sense. I seriously never heard of this theory before. Why would the creator waste his time to develop a character and throw him away? I'll tell you what. Paulie didn't have much showcase as same as Dalton because he will never join. That's why it is a waste of time to showcase a filler character like him."
Apparantly you've got to go through the entire thread before making a point, patz. I've explained, twice, why ODa'd develop Franky's character if he's going to be left behind. It'd be so that, when Franky builds the new ship, the reader can associate the ship with Franky. It'd make the reader angry to have a new ship after the Going Merry, but if that ship is made by a character the reader has feelings for, it's like a piece of that character going with the Straw Hats. In short, the reader has attachments and feelings for the new ship even though it's, well, new.
"I believe you do realize that running away from debt collectors is more serious than running away from goverment."
It'd fit right in with Oda's quirky sense of humor. Especially after CP9 and Eneas Lobby are done and over, he'd probabyl be bringing in some humor. I don't see why this can't apply to either, Franky OR Paulie, joining.
And besides, it was just an amusing example I gave of HOW Paulie COULD join, not part of any argument at all.
I'll also like to admit that, after Ivotas's arguments, I CAN see Franky joining much easier than I could see before. I'd go as far to say that it's equally likely for either Paulie of Franky to join. However, it looks like every argument has a viable retort for either side and, in the end, we really DON'T have much clue who's going to the shipwright. It looks, seriously, that it's a tossup, especially if you go back and look at the points everybody's brought up.
