OH GOD finally heard my prayers, TASHIGI and SMOKER (teary eyes) yey!! ^^,
i thought last year was a great year for POP cause' of KUMA but i was wrong
because this year not only we get to have 2 more Shichibukais but also a re-issue of smoker and tashigi, I'm so happy I'm feeling a natural high! O_o LOL!

Well, its first going to England then to where i live in sweden. Total is 240 euro. Just the figure is around 80euro i guess. But its almost 5kg for JUST the figure.

I checked my email this morning and got a figure update from a japanese store. I don't usually check them, but I scrolled through and saw Smoker and Tashigi re-release and was like O_O LIARS!!
Of course, I immediately came to the forums and saw like 8 new pages on the collectibles thread and knew it must be true. Wow. I just parted with my smoker, came to the realization that I would only buy him for regular release price, and here he is!! My boyfriend is going to smack me because lucky things like this are always happening to me and I know this is just going to put him over the edge.Preordered Tashigi and Smoker from amiami. Already have Tashigi, but I think it wise to get extras if I can. I would buy an extra Smoker, but I'll ruminate on it before I do.

Has anyone from here ordered a POP from RightStuf? I've ordered manga and anime before, and have had a good experience. Is it pretty much just the same as ordering from hlj, minus the overseas shipping costs? In my case, it would be cheaper to get Kuma from RightStuf, than hlj.

Rightstuf never sells bootlegs and I've ordered a figure or two from them before. They don't charge shipping because they have that over 49.99 purchase = free shipping, so a POP would most likely qualify as they are expensive >.< But since it is a domestic release the prices are raised since they've been imported…..so it really depends on what sales/shipping offers you can find at other places. I know I can sometimes get POPs for about 10 -15 dollars less than rightstuf if I preorder at another place...but it depends. Also, don't expect a gold Toei sticker, the figures at rightstuf will come with a funimation sticker that is just as legit.

I'm kinda meh about ordering from amiami because of the no-cancel policy, but I know I'll be happier because it'll be 20% off the price, while you probably will only get 5% off at HLJ. Before shipping both of them together come out to be $93.11 at amiami, which is not bad at all for POPs.

Part of the "it depends" is if you have a Got Anime membership. If you're already shopping there and have one, that's 10% off on most figures. Getting them takes longer, though, because of the import process. I'm still waiting on my SW Luffy and Chopper, though I think they should be here soon.

If there's a OP event going on, they're probably gonna be there. Most of them were on the working Going Merry that was in Japan YEARS ago, then all of them were at the OP Beach event. Wonder what happened to the Chopper, someone might have stolen him because he was small. XD

When I preorder DVDs from Rightstuf, I usually get them a week or two before their street date, which is amazing.
I've tried preordering POPs ftom Rightstuf twice, the Dereshi Robin and an Ace. Robin was listed with a release date of October 30, 2009, and she didn't ship until mid December, 6 weeks after the "release date". Ace was listed with a release date of November 30, 2009, and he still has not shipped as of today. 2+ months later…
So, in my opinion, Rightstuf is awesome for DVDs, but the opposite for POPs

Heh, no need to apologize, it was a good transaction and I'm glad you can put the money to good use. I still love that figure just the same. =P Count me in for buying the NEO smoker and tashigi though. Already preordered on amazon japan along with the duck.

Interesting, I assumed this because of the no cancellation policy. That and the fact that they only accept paypal….when I use paypal to pay international merchants...I always get whacked with some bad conversion rate and fees on top of it (paypal's way of sticking it to you). That's why I always stuck to Amazon Japan....only fee I get whacked with is the 2% international transaction fee from credit card and you can cancel anytime no questions asked before the shipment....then again Amazon.jp doesn't ship outside Japan heh. Amiami is one of the biggest if not the largest hobby stores in Japan so I doubt people will get screwed...but the whole huge disclaimer about not guranteeing stock bothers me too....guess everyone else is the same but amiami makes it nice, clear, and bold. I also was reading reviews of other guys using HLJ versus amiami, seems some still stick with HLJ despite the higher costs due to packing methods...apparently amiami skimps on packaging at times as well.

My main assumption is that because they're huge in Japan, that it's probably one of their policies for their Japanese branch anyway. Since they only opened their English site a few months ago, they're probably still wary about international orders, non-payments, and having to split their stock with their Japanese consumers.
Besides, I never really understood people who have to completely cancel their pre-orders. Decide if you like it or not before pre-ordering. And if you think you're going to be tight on funds when the payment comes around, then make some sacrifices somehow.
! SW Usopp and Robin come out right around the peak of convention/cosplay season for me, so if I can somehow do it, you can too! Let's be poor together with our collections!
