Aohige usually doesn't translate when the chapter is out.
But Steven made quite a nice translation already, so thanks Steven, and happy birthday of course :), and thanks everyone who provided anything this week again :)
(And thanks Aohige like every week :p)
Especially since mr. 1 explicitely said "it's an order of the boss" eyes drooling
Alright, fair enough. Still, it's possible that he's also doing it because he wants to.
I'm trying to understand your argument here:
The personality traits you explained were passed down to luffy by dragon which never (as far as we know) interacted with him… so doesn't that mean it's a bloodline thing here?
I'm trying to understand why you're thinking so hard about this. Luffy just happened to win the genetic lotto and got all of his daddies good traits besides brains. That is different than there simply being a bloodline trait associated with Haki or King's Haki passed down from father to son. You never heard the saying "He's a chip off the old block"? That is really all Iva was saying. Don't have to be around, know, or be related to someone to have similar traits. Luffy doesn't know Roger either, it doesn't stop people from comparing the two.
hbday steven and thx for the translation
Did Inazuma always called Iva "Iva-san" instead of "-sama"?
Alright, I thought that wine glass popping out of Iva's head was pretty funny, and, of course, Daz and Croc backing up Luffy was naturally badass.
However, I really hope Oda doesn't fuck this up. I'm getting sick of this whole "Luffy gets close to the execution stand, but has to start over, since a strong marine knocks him back!" It's pretty stale, and considering Luffy can't go down one more time, part of me is wanting Garp to have a change of heart. Hopefully that won't happen though, but instead, as WB instructed, someone will go protect Luffy.
Ah..

Might be … Those kumabots are using higher level of techonology than anything in our world at 2010....
part of me is wanting Garp to have a change of heart.
I kinda see a Garp/Luffy FB in the coming chapters …
How did I miss that?
You mean the super hero bit, or did you miss it in the cam scans?
If you meant his super-hero aspirations, it was part of the baroque works escape cover story(chapter 359-413), specifically chapter 408 for his dream.
I still don't understand how Daz can go against Mihawk. I love Mr. 1 but he is my way to get a Croc joining xD
Next week for everyone surprise, Luffy and Garp will fall asleep right in the middle of the war where the entire world is watching.

hahaha yeah that could be funny
Happy birthday, mr Steven D. Teach!!
Next week for everyone surprise, Luffy and Garp will fall asleep right in the middle of the war where the entire world is watching.
lol would be damn funny if it really happens
Well our three week wait is over, thanks guys.
I know I said prior that the Marines are "doing their job", but I just sort of wish that one would put their morals over the mission for once. Heck, now with even Garp in Luffy's way, it really seems every, and I mean every, Marine is of the same mind-set. I sort of hope after this arc finally ends that we get sort of some reaction talk by the Marines sort of explaining why they chose not to disobey orders. But hey: at least seeing Inazuma back was cool.
a bit disapointed.. whats the point to say us how the pirates of the new worlds are strong if no one of them can't do anything in this war?? Why the hell did they come here if they are no help? Luffy a rookie is their last hope? C'mon….
Ummmmmm… does buggy still have the den den mushi that can broadcast this war.
Awesome. Marco is still alive & kicking..goody. Now we just need some confirmation on Joz's condition. Hopefully he is still doing well. Hmm…i wonder if Garp will throw the fight and let Luffy win?? Because there is no chance in hell of Luffy ever beating him at his current level.
I'm sooo happy...finally some new OP.
Finally back to this. Oh I love the utter chaos of the pages too. _
Yay Croc & Daz.

Well, captain, every military unit is built on the doctrine of a strict hierachial rank system. Soldiers must obey orders or they face expulsion, or in extreme cases, execution. We saw that a couple of chapters back when that marine was executed by Akainu for fleeing the battle. Additionally, many marines will probably bleieve that what they are doing is right: defending and riding the world of a dangerous criminal and carrying out justice.
Of course the WG itself might be evil, employ psychopats like the CP9 or the Shichibukai, but many of the soldiers they employ see themselves as a legitimate source of order and justice.
And there is Smoker after all, who really doesn't give a shit.
But hey: at least seeing Inazuma back was cool.
Right on
Finally, the Will of the D….... has begun to move.....
I think someone will help Luffy get at his grandfather.... or Luffy will outwit him.....
but the question is now, can Luffy get a whack at Sengoku?
wanna bet Dragon makes a dramatic appearance to wipe EVERYONE (marines and pirate included) out of the way, just like in Logue Town....
That's the point, it's not like she was fighting attacking Pacifistas. She simply attacked while they did nothing but ask her to step aside.
Don't rag on Hancock she is having a hard enough time as it is, her right leg just got very fat and her ass is hanging out
[hide][/hide]
Yes I know it is not actually
rofl xD it looks like… i don't know, but not a leg!

LMAO! You almost got me there, ahahahaha!
Garp sure is big in the last double page.
BTW, why only 15 pages this time? Last time it was because of Movie 10 stuff, right? Now that thats all over and he had 3 weeks, I was hoping for a 19 page chapter again. :-/. Oh, well, it'll still be a great chapter..

yeah its misleading the pic
Well I think Garp and Luffy gonna have some small conversation and a little action (talking will trying to hit each other :ninja:) then Garp remember something (flash back time) making him lower his guard letting luffy hit him once/enough for Luffy to continue his rescue for Ace, then Garp trying once again to stop Luffy but someone is going to stop him(maybe Rayleigh).

i think that is because Oda and his guys just can't do more… Oda is a perfectionist i doubt that he is not doing his best. So they do their best in 15 pages but can't do more. I suppose.
Garp sure is big in the last double page.

Consider that the manga is some chapters ahead … so this chapter could be drawn while Oda worked on a chapter.
@Steven:
Luffy: You!
Daz: It's an order from the boss…oppose the marines.
Mihawk: You're Daz Bones.Mihawk: Crocodile...
Crocodile: Watch out Hawkeyes...I'm in a bad mood right now.
Now this is what I like to wake up to! XD So glad I didn't have to work today. And Happy Birthday, Steven!
To think, Croc protecting Luffy, even if it's a roundabout way of opposing the Marines–I never thought I'd live to see the day. And then seeing him jump in to protect Daz. He's really changed, our Croc. Still arrogant, self-serving, and badass, but now with an unexpected depth of character. Stand by your man, Croc!
It's like I'm almost getting tired of the fangasms Crocodile induces every god damn time he shows up. First of all "watch yourself, Mihawk… I'm in a bad mood right now." Good lord! That's too badass! He's making everyone else look bad!
I'd also like to point out not only is he apparently undamaged from the off-screen fight with Doflamingo, but apparently even managed to recover his cigar. Think about that for a second. Not only did he come away from fighting the Warlord with the highest bounty in the series without a (notable) scratch, he went and took the time to pick up the cigar he dropped after he was decapatated. Mother of god!
Mm-hmm. That's our pimp.
Disappointed about not seeing Doflamingo. I was hoping for some epic badassery between the two of them, but I guess Oda doesn't want to go in-depth about Dofla's ability just yet. But at least that in of itself is a promise of more Doflamingo action in the future.
And the return of Inazuma! That's fantastic.
@Steven:
Luffy: Gramps!! Just get out of the way!
Garp: There's no way I would! I’m a Vice Admiral of Marine Headquarters!!
I am really eager to see what will happen here. Garp v. Luffy? Hell yes.
Mr. 1 taking a blow for Luffy? Didn't see that coming, since they haven't spoken to each other even once in the whole series before now. And now Crocodile's fighting Mihawk? Not a match up I expected at all. Too bad his fight with Doflamingo was lost in the shuffle after all. That's just my biggest gripe with this arc; characters pop up whenever it's convenient for the plot, regardless of what they were occupied with before.
Well, anyway, now that Garp's here, it's time for the Fist of Tough Love.
Good job Mr.1 and Mr.Zero!
Garp doesn't want to hurt Luffy, so he might just punch him again and again~ without hurting him, of course, since normal punches won't harm Luffy.

He doesn't… though it didn't stop him to send luffy into hell when he was young just for the sake of becoming strong.

I don't think it really behooves oda to have any prolonged fights in this arc. A lot of these characters are probably going to have big roles in upcoming arcs, and I doubt Oda wants to give away too much too soon, just have brief displays of power while people clash.

That was for training, but now, in this war, Garp could just stop him from proceeding further to the platform without hurting him.

Even when garp had no intention to fight luffy he did punched him at water 7. I doubt that they won't exchange some punches while being in such a serious situation.
And holy smurf failgoku is still standing there (probably) waiting for 2 other fodder marines to come on the plattform and execute Ace…
Doflamingo is no match for Crocodile.
He will take out all the chichibukais one after one.
i think that soon Luffy's father will make his move in order to save luffy from sth…..
Monkey D. Dragon is coming….

I bet he's thinking it's time to roll up another sleeve.

I agree with Darkstrom, Oda tries to give us a lot of character in this arc simply for their brief introduction for the upcoming arc I mean They are NW pirates Luffy(SH's) didn't even reach the NW so there is another chance for this new characters to show case of what they have.

Remember the pirates are up against 100,000 marines, 5 Schichibukai, and a few dozen Pacifista. Even if all 43 allied ships had a thousand pirates(which is unlikely) they'd still be out numbered more than 2to1. With odds like that you can bet those guys have been busy even before taking out the Pacifista.
Can't expect Oda to give brand new characters screentime to own established characters.

Oh, I understand why he does it, to avoid protraction, but it is just a little frustrating when you want to see more of a certain character's abilities or interactions. Plus it just sort of gives the impression that they just let each other go as soon as the attention is drawn elsewhere, but maybe that's just me.
Next chapter Croc surrounded by Moria, Dofla and Mihawk. It would be fucking awesome…but I can see Dofla attacking WB (at last) if he gets him with his strings its game over. Squardo wasnt along with the NW Captains, so maybe he is being hold by Oda till the end. ;)
Woo Hoo! after the long waiting, finally!
Thanks for the chapter!
Did anybody notice that Whitebeard tried hitting Kizaru, but failed?
Did anybody notice that Whitebeard tried hitting Kizaru, but failed?
No. I thought kizaru tried to move to pwn luffy on the bridge when WB stopped him rayleigh like.
I think what is needed is a great explosion in order luffy to be saved and the the story to go on…. Because it's a chaos.... Only Monkey D.Dragon isn't there and the SH...
I still think Croc will be joining and why not bring Mr.1 also :D
Nice chapter it looks like.. there is one easy way to kick out Garp and Sengoku out of the way from Luffy… that is Garp attacking Sengoku while Luffy releases Ace
Rayleigh never been confirmed to have King's Haki, have we ever seen Shanks full name ? We know that the Will of the D. is a big thing... it could had been all along King's Haki. Maybe Boa name is Boa D. Hancock...
Anyhow I really like how Garp jumped in front of Luffy.
