Is there anyone on this board that hasn't realized at the start of their third trimester at AP that online sources have been providing early JUMP scans for fans around the world for over half a decade?

Actually, when I first registered on this site, I was unable to post on the forum for some reason. I gave up and came back 6 months later and now can.

I honestly DIDN'T know that scanlations were being provided early for so long because I am Japanese and I read one piece in Japanese. And yes, I am new to Online O.P fandom (In the English speaking sector) and this site, so fancy cutting me some slack?

Well, downloading scans of the Japanese RAWS is pretty risky because they are quite strict with it but, I have always been the type of guy who stands in a convenience store every Monday morning and reads it before going in to work. I buy the tankobons though of course…

So I've been wondering about the way Oda closed Chapter 0.

He seemed to suggest that Shiki's plan will indeed come to fruition and as we know, things certainly don't seem to be pointing towards the film being anything near canon.

Do you think he might address this in the artbook interview or an SBS AFTER the film has completed its run?

Now guys lets get back to the chapter! And specifically the Crocodile connection with Rogers crew. It would be very interesting if that were him, but what about the crew already knowing where to find an ancient weapon? Wouldn't Croc have been able to go straight to it instead of having Robin decipher where it was hidden?

And if that does end up being Croc before a chin job, I guess it would be explained that Rogers crew located the ancient weapon before Croc joined.

Aside from all the cursing he can be cool.

The cursing is a side-effect of organizing a wedding. Nothing I can do about that although I was considering starting a contest where if anyone finds me cursing I'd have to send them a JUMP as punishment for myself to break the nasty habit.

Hyperbole-ridden rants on shitty games would have to be excluded.

Just an idea though.

the film does not look to be canon? but didn't oda write the storyline?! I'm still looking at this film as canon, especially since that indigo guy is gonna be in it. I mean, the movie's plot is obviously the continuation of the ending of chapter 0

I just don't see how its possible to make it canon if the events take place after they cross over to The New World.

Naturally that depends how he intends to wrap up the war. If he's going to make it where there's a period of time the SH crew can just kinda chill for a bit its completely within Oda's realm of 'Impossible Is Nothing'.

But I dunno, it just seems that after the war they're gonna need to move along.

If not and they do cross over right after the war, making it canon for them to cross back over would just seem kind of silly.

Thats it right there. Croc was NOT on Rogers crew. For Buggy to not have mentioned anything by now, only to later reveal it would be a big mistake on Oda's part.

Yeah the ending of this chapter just makes it to difficult to believe that absollutely NOTHING will come of it. This Movie is because of this chapter 0 entirely. I could see it not being canon, only if it were actualy written into the manga later, but it just doesn't make any sense for that to happen.

Now if this takes place after the war then it would be pretty odd. But taking place right before Shabondy doesn't seem so impossible, except for Brook talking about his first battle with the Straw Hats. In the trailer we saw WB talking about Gold Lion, which was most likely before the events of the war. That is if that scene of WB talking does indeed make it to the actual movie.

I agreed with this point when it was brought up before the storm but I still think Oda could make it possible. Buggy flipped a shit when he saw him at ID and while we assumed that's because Buggy is….Buggy...and Crocodile is a Shichibukai, it would make just as much sense for him to react to an old superior.

However, you can totally chalk it up to coincidence. Every once in a while there's a theory I'm pissed I read because of what potential it holds and that's a keeper. But I'd love for Croc to have been a chick.

i can`t imagine that it will be rly canon.
when iam right, we should consider it, as if the movie could be cut out of the manga..means that a part could be seen to miss in it..(like the SH travel from one island to another…in between the story of the movie)

seems to be impossible...when the WAR! is over the crew has first has to rejoin again so that this CAN be true..
than nami should somehow miss...
than they have not rly a long way to Fishman island, but before they reach that, the movie takes place..or is it in the NW?

when it`s actually in the NW than oda still has some time to make it more canon, but that will be in a year orso before the SH reach the NW..soo the movie will be snow of yesterday on that point, where it "could" take place in the manga...

Yeah, that's definitely a possibility, I dunno if I'm happy with it being something that makes sense only in retrospect (as Oda usually drops hints well ahead of time) but considering what we know about moves and characters during the film, the shoe fits.

Also, and this totally depends on the outcome of the movie, for Luffy to take down Shiki, a man who in his prime it took both Sengoku and Garp to bring down, BEFORE the war? I just dunno. If that's the case surely he's better than just a rookie and Shackey should have picked up on that.

Either way, yes, it's at a stage that even this late in the game, could go either way.

i think this (fish) guy we can see later in the story, cause from time to time we have like checkpoints with former roger pirates (krokus on the beginning, rayleigh at the half way point)..so maybe we will see this "mysterious" guy near the end ..

You know what's cool about Oda?

He doesn't need to do that kind of stuff.

Crocodile could just have been a dude with a hook hand and a wicked scar.

Same goes for Moria and a number of other bits and pieces along the way.

But no.

They're all part of something he planned out (at least the bigger picture of) long ago.

Some people criticize that kind of story-telling, explaining every detail and leaving nothing up to the imagination, but I'm glad those aren't the people telling the story.
