You do realize that authoring the manga does not only require thinking of a story but also drawing the chapters, right? He most probably have the story for this entire arc already. But he still needs to draw all of these and that takes time.
EDIT: Even if Bleach has almost no backgrounds at all, drawing the characters (and for which Kubo really does a very good job) does take time.

I think you can sort of tell the direction of a manga when it goes from imaginative color pages to minimalist or no cover page with just the title of the chapter below it.
I'm still catching up to Bleach since I put it on hold for quite a while (I'm currently at Chapter 361). I have few question to ask.
1. The whole saving Orihime is Kubo trolling right? Aizen never wants to use her to make the Key in the first place, he just want to trap some of the captain at HM right?
2. Does Turn Back The Pendulum provides anything worthy? Maybe I wasn't paying much attention but the only thing that was explain was the origin of The Vaizard and why Urahara and Yourichi was on Earth/Karakura Town.
What does Aizen have to do with the Hollowfication? Is he using some forbidden stuff or something? All I'm getting is some of the people from SS was reported missing and turns out they were killed by Tousen. What was the motive behind all this?

I only know he was at SS after he took off the mask. That's why I thought his intro was somewhat random.

Basically TBTP showed that Tousen was a member of Kensei's elite hit squad in 9th Squad allowing for the "betrayl" to occur, but they never really say how long he was a member of the squad. (he also mentioned once he was a 5th Squad member if you remember the small flashback when Komamura attacked Aizen) And…yeah, it's rather random and stupid that Aizen, Gin and Tousen have been BFF forever and that there still isn't any other information about how or why but...that's probably just Kubo simplifying things.
So, I don't miss anything right?

But that's one thing I've always wondered about: If soul reapers can live for centuries, wouldn't that be ample time for ANYONE to learn that stuff? Even bankai? I mean, you have to be the least ambitious lethargic spirit ever to spend your eternal life as a monster fghting samurai….and not getting stronger. Oh, well.

well it does seem like not many do know shiki. well anyone lower than 5 seat. but the way byakuya said during fight with ichigo it seems like you are legendary and like automatic captain if you learn bankai. and since captains are only 13, and seem to hold position for a 100 years or so at least, it don't seem like many learn bankai.
which as you said is just kidn of funny. i mean wtf are you doing with your life. your whole life and job is to just kill hollows. wouldn't you want to train a bit. though it also seems like 99.99% of all hollows are super pussy's. but somehow a super pussy kicked rukia's ass, and now she is fighting with espada whom are a billion times stronger than that hollow.
i just gave up on power levels/order. every arc new bad guys are going to be 100x stronger than prior and every arc EVERYONE somehow is just strong enough to beat them, with or without training.
