We did get uncut Dragon Ball… and most other things that I don't care to remember right now, but that was like 10 years ago, now the dub studios don't want to translate directly from japanesse.
In the good old days there were 3 dub companies, one based in mexico, who did most of the big things, from dragon ball, to movies to the simpsons, the venezuelan one that does most warner related things, from animaniacs to justice league and related shows (I was seriously freaked out when I heard the joker's voice in a Mc donnal comertial, as ronal's voice), and the final and crappy one who I don't know where are they bassed, but they have a very limited cast, they do mostly series, did zoids, and the most relevant thing that I've watched recently from them was avatar, where 3 extras and roku shared voice.
The mexican was the best one with the voices, the venezuelan was the most acurate translation, and the last one was the fastest.
Meh, it is just easier to find a fluent english user, hell more than 50% of the people I know are able to translate acurrately almost anything that it is shown. But those who have 4 years in a japanesse course they are still in the basics.
I understand the money perspective, but the dubs of the pld years were sucessful because they were made from scratch fom an dificult language, and had room to wiggle some creativity in, now this (north) americanized crap with the better voice talents gone, it is anoying.
