Because she is not a character who love to goof around, I found her dark humor to be very funny.
for example:
at TB, when Nami screamed. She just said: 'oh,my she's choked by a gost' (or something like that). even Zoro respond with: 'if you have time to make a joke like that, help me wit the boat instead!' XD
and at Skypea, when they swing from the altar, the scared Nami said: this turn out to be quite high.
but, instead of encouraging her, again Robin calmly said: yes, if you fall, you'll die. which Nami respond with: STOP IT!! XDNot many chaeacter can make dark joke as funny as Robin. That side also shows what complicated and deep Robin character is
so VOTE ROBIN!!

Making an awesome AMV of Luffy (or Zoro for that matter) doesn't hardly require any effort at all. Plus, there are hundreds of them already. Luffy also doesn't really need much help.
I like a challenge (though I will do some obscure Luffy and Zoro videos in the future). I also prefer to do original things if at all possible.

As for AMVs in general I gladfully make any kind of AMV for anyone here but problem for me is getting the scenes = episode once that is given great.

Dude, sometimes the formula just works. Why do you think so many people use it? I see things in Luffy that I've seen in other places, but he's still extremely likable and has enough unique aspects to deserve this kind of popularity.

Don't get me wrong, I like Luffy, but he's way too similar to Son Goku, which keeps me from liking him more. His entire personality is almost a carbon copy of Son Goku. Way too similar for my taste…
Let's be honest here; if Luffy weren't the main character we see all the time, but had the same personality, he'd be nowhere near as popular. ;)

Really? I can't imagine that. Luffy being an idiot alone is funny. But I guess the reactions of his stupidity is what makes the other SHs funny too. Luffy and Brook, in my opinion, are the two SHs that provoke the funniest reactions from the others consistently.
Maybe he could be gettin' boring to people because ever since he's parted with his group, he's been pretty serious. His brother is hours away from death.

I'm pretty damn sure that without Luffy's character (likeGokuulolwhat?), One Piece simply wouldn't be here. It wouldn't be what it is.
The entire FEEL of the series rides on the back of Luffy's personality.

Other than that, I fail to see how a story-driven adventure/drama manga is hinging on the back of a goofy, wide-eyed, perpetually hungry rubberman.
He fits in fine with the story, but it hardly hinges on him. We've been told by the narrative for a looooong time how big the One Piece world is, how major shit is going down in it, and much of it is presented as being bigger than Luffy. Especially now.

Well part of it is I'm getting a little bored with the current story. I know it's important and 'teh epic' and all that, I just feel like it's dragging. And while there have been some great things about Luffy's team up with Bon, Ikanova, Buggy, etc., I'm still getting pretty restless without the rest of the crew around. I was bored out of my mind with the Amazon story, too.

Do you haters think that Oda just wrote a chapter one after another without thinking. He most-likely already had half of the story in his mind. Oda most likely chose Luffy to be the main character because he had the best personality.

Haha, you're reducing to telling me to learn to read, and "nuh-uh, you can't do that." Defensive much? First of all, Luffy's love of adventure is presented in almost the same way as Goku's love of fighting. Especially the aspect that causes him to jump headfirst into dangerous situations just for the fun of it. Not saying this is a bad thing, but the similarities are hard to miss.
And my point stands, even if "feel" was the word you used. If the "feel" of One Piece hinged on his personality, the dramatic content would be cut by more than half.
And Luffy does nothing but react to the things you described. It's the world, cast, and plot of One Piece that drives all thsoe things. Especially the ROMANCE/ADVENTURE aspect. These things come from the setting, plot, and legendary figures in the story, not Luffy.
Now, I'm off to work. Have fun getting snippy at me over my opinion of a fictional character.
