Haki doesn't work on those who are strong of will. So while a good haki blast might take out all of the fodder marines, it still leaves the big guns like Smoker, Hina, the Admirals, and the Shichibukai. Not really effective.
Haki can stop a sword made out of light, it should be able to stop everything else.

I mean it's possible if he was his kid brother Garp had joined the marines and then Roger grows up to be a pirate (assuming they grew up in some BFE village not really renowned for anything) and Garp HAS to chase him. He may purposely let him go but he HAS to chase him and keep the appearnce up. If they found that Roger was related to Garp that could be huge trouble for him.
Though Garp's reactions so far don't leave much evidence for that theory either, just need some more info.
That'd be funny, Ace would be Luffy's Uncle (or well his second cousin, perhaps) !

Hey, something I want to bring up agian. Does this mean we have some kind of confirmation about what Kuma was saying to Ray before the seperation. Maybe he knew Ace was Roger's son as well and he was not aware of the public exectuion due to boozing in the auction house.

It's time to think about tactics and strategy of this war
Suddenly kuma-bot's parts began fall from the sky, so many of them that they form mountain equal in size to scaffold. Marines speechless like when galleon fall from the skypea before Strawhats. Lastly, sliced PX-99 head fall before Sengoku and try to say something but goes off-line. Kizaru makes terrible face and fly up to Mariejoae. In t=sqrt(2s/g)=sqrt(210000/9.81)=45 seconds his dead body fall on top kuma-bot's parts mountain. There begin silent panic, Sengoku understand - all tenryubito was taken hostages. In that moment gates of justice begin to open/get smashed in pieces and we hear report from den-den mushi stating that Luffy team appear on backward side of MHQ island. Few seconds later Whitebeard land on scaffold which the DON. And War Begun.

I know theres a lot of talk about perspective here, but am I the only one that thinks Hancocks left leg is a bit.. too long? It goes all the way down to the floor even though it looks like she's sitting on the snake.

Prediction:
Either Whitebeard or Shanks has someone incredibly quick on their team, who then snatches Ace away right before the swords cut his throat.
Alternatively, someone entirely unpredictable walks on the scene all calm with his Haki knocking everyone out (which I hope doesn't happen unless Oda does it really well, which he most probably will).i think from shank's crew lucky roux could do it he is rumoured to be the fastest man in Grand Line, he's the big guy who eats meat.
I don't see the problem with the TVs. I mean, this is a world with combat cyborgs, a ship equiped with a cola-powered lazar cannon, and a genius scientist capable of creating technology 500 years ahead of his time.

Awesome chapter, can hardly wait to see what comes next. Though I don't really see why it had to be a 20 month pregnancy, wouldn't a 12 or 13 month pregnancy been a little more understandable? I mean, Roger's execution date wasn't specifically stated was it?

She's not sitting on it, she's more leaning against it. If you have a wall for back support, (or in this case a snake) you can raise a leg without losing balance. Also, when you sit in a chair, do your feet not reach the ground? Either way its perfectly legitimate.

I mean, the ships at and around Impel Down did so I'm gonna go ahead and say they do but nonetheless if the marines see one of their ships approaching will they immediately attack it or hesitate? Also, I'm thinking that Luffy intervenes before Whitebeard and it throws Marine Headquarters for a loop. There's also all that television broadcasting so of course the Tenryubito chick will see it and flip along with Shakie and Hatchan and Duval I would assume.

That's fame in anyone's book, no matter how much was swept under the carpet before that. They don't need to "make" a name for themselves because they already have one. I agree with you that it will be improved by quite a bit, but the foundation is already there.

Pretty good theory - considering Kuma can instantly "teleport" it maybe case. Only thing - Mariejoae is on top of Red Wall, 10000 meters above water level, and Marineford is where they are now.

I had theorized that Ace's mother was the last empress before Hancock, who died because she loved a man, but the manga says she's from the South Blue…Ace inherited her wavy hair, though.

Kuma told Luffy that they wont meet ever again. However, the Shichibukai are waiting at the front and they're the ones that are going to confront Luffy's ship arent they? So Luffy and Kuma will probably meet then if that's how it's going to happen. Is it that Kuma didnt predict this or what?

If Whitebeard knows about Ace, couldn't that affect his decision whether or not he wants to save him?
As for the Jimbei hint, Dragon would be aware that Ace isn't his son…so he really has no reason to show up anymore. Unless saving Ace is somehow advantageous for the revolutionaries.
