That place is a bad place for Luffy to fight in but he still manage to knock Krieg out before he fall into the Ocean.
Luffy being at a disadvantage and almosting winning doesn't mean he won.

Anyway, my big problem here is measuring a victory by who lives or dies. Luffy never fights to kill, I see no point to it. Krieg would have lived regardless of Luffy falling into the ocean.
Besides, it wasn't the point of that fight anyway. The point was Luffy surpassed every weapon of Krieg, proving he was someone who was strong without external forces like weapons. He was strong, courageous, and possessed the courage to fight even risking his own life and proving that he was on his way to tackling the grandline. To say Kreig "won" is extremely cheap and petty considering Luffy continued his journey and Kreig is a defeated pirate.

I'll take a shot. This this chapter a few people where clearly knocked out despite the stalemate between the big shots. Where those VAs and/or captain that went down?

Yeah I just emphasised this guy because his wound looked fatal, and blood came from the wound so definitely not just hair, that guy's cap got peeled back.

I'm not argueing that Krieg accomplished his goal because he didn't. The fighting between them resulted in a Krieg throwing Luffy into the ocean. Done. There was no fighting between the two afterwards. Therefore, Krieg defeated him in battle.

People like Jadosra are basically saying if Crocodile had every advantage Luffy had that fight, while still keeping the advantages he had already plus perfect strategy with 4th wall breaking knowledge and Crocodile would have beaten Luffy back then, but not now I don't think Croc could beat Luffy but who knows maybe.
The thing is, I think everyone agrees with this idea, the problem is you've changed the situation to favor Croc so much people are like, "who cares." You can use the same logic to make anyone beat Luffy.

And obviously Croc beat Luffy twice, and what you're suggesting has nothing to do with overestimation, him slitting Luffy's throat or doing anything extra after those fights would be overkill. No one debates fights 1 & 2, however it was said that Luffy surpassed Croc in fight 3.

I just knew Akainu had a Fire related DF, I mean come on, it was obvious after seeing Aokiji's and Kizaru's powers. I mean just look at the obvious pattern they left us:
Aokiji-Blue Pheasent-Ice
Kizaru-Yellow Monkey-Light
Akainu-Red Dog-Magma

That feels like the same thing as leaving as guy in an ocean, he was at the mercy of everyone there. I could see Carne shooting him if Gin didn't do anything. And if this was a different manga, of course.

I think it'd be pretty cool if the leader of the Navy had the only DF that still allows the user to swim. Like Vegapunk engineered one or something.

So Garp either refused the position of FleetAdmiral or didn't get it due to his recklessness, nevertheless Sengoku was promoted and became even stronger while Garp was demoted to make way for younger, better admirals. But anyways Sengoku became so strong that he was forced to seperate his power into two different beings, a la stark and so when he and the goat combine he goes full power an the reason he screams alot and acts so weak is because the goat holds a silent calm personality which balances out when they merge.
